A Rebel Stronghold [RP Open]

"So, what have we got here, Prime Minster?"

"Very, very, good news, my Emperor" Prime Minister Erikson replied.

The Emperor and the Prime Minister sat in the imperial dining hall. It was still morning and beams of sunlight of the still rising sun poured into the hall through its massive windows as the Emperor ate his breakfast.

"Well, let hear it," said the Emperor as he took anouther bite.

"We've located the last Republican stronghold,"

The Emperor looked up from his breakfast, statled by the news. His shock quickly turned to a sinister smile.

"Have we, now?" he laughed "Excellent, excellent. That really is good news. Those damn rebels have been plaguing my family's steps since we took power from the feeble senate's grasp,"

He laughed again as he got up and went to one of the windows.

"What a wonderful way to start a day. How heavily defended is it?"

"As heavily defended as rebels can make it, my lord. I already sent a spy, but he was caught and his transmissons ended. I do not think we can infiltrate it, my lord,"

"I was afraid of that. We will have to launch an assult on it. Send word to Crimson Sith and Undelia requesting assistance,"

"What?! Excuse me, my lord. It is not my place to question your word , but surely we can handle a few rebel holdouts,"

"Of course we can. We will do our absolute best to keep this under raps, but you never know if word might get out somehow. If a few nations abroad might send aid to the Republicans, if a pro-republican force lands on Galirisian soil, I want my allies close by to respond,"

"Always cautious as ever, my lord,"

"It runs in the family, you should have seen all the trouble my great-grandfather went to to keep his plot hidden from the senate," The Emperor returned to his breakfast "After I am done, we will discuss this further, dismissed."

The Prime Minister bowed and left.

Attention, We have recieved word from our sources at the palace that the empire plans to attack the stronghold and the emporer is asking for help from his allies. I fear we don't have much time. We would not stand a chance against the strenght of the empire alone letalone with they're allies. I suggest we send ambassadors to the nations located in the nearby area that are not in agreement with the empire, and quick. I'm must get out of here I fear they are on to me. May God be with you.....

I strongly suggest you reconsider your position. How we deal with Galirisian rebels on Galirisian soil is none of your concern. These rebels have disrespected and insulted their emperors since they first gained power. Any force landing on Galirisian soil without permission will be viewed as a hostile invasion of Galiris. Any aid sent to the rebels will be viewed as an attempt to help overthrow the Galirisian government. As far as we're concerned, both of these are grounds for war. Once again, I strongly recomend that you reconsider your position and keep your nose out of other nation's business.

Then a man in a long robe walked in through the grand doors and up to the emporers seat.

"My Lord, I have come to ask for your help in defeated the evil emperor of Galiris who has taken control of the enate and is planning to destroy us who rebel. We are in dire need of help as the might of the empire will crush us easily"

"Interesting...Go now and I will send word to you off my decision"

The New White House, J City

Under-Secretary of State Jeff Chritins walked quickly through the metal detectors at the main enterance of the New White House. Secret Service Agents in their black suits stood impassively against the walls, six were in sight and he knew that a lot more would be out of sight with heavier weaponary.

As the Undersecretary signed in, a door opened and another Agent came out into the spacious enterance hall. This one approached him along with one of the others who had been standing against the wall.

"Mr Chritins?"

They knew the answer, but it was polite to ask.

"Yes."

"I'm Special Agent Freeman, this is Special Agent Kent" As he said the second name he motioned to the other well built man in a suit. The Agent continued

" We are here to take you to the President, and then we are your security during negotiations with the Galiris faction. This way please"

The Agent led off down a well furnished corridor that had more uniformed members of the Secret Service spaced at regular intervals along it. These men all had their Glock 18 Semiautomatic Pistols in quick draw holsters attached to their belt and earpieces curling their way up to their left ear from beneath the shirt collar. Both of the suited Agents had the same earpieces which were continually relaying data to them about the location of the principles, and any possible problems that there may be.

After another two minutes of walking Freeman turned left, and then up some stairs that would have been suitable for Buckingham Palace at the height of the British Empire. Turning left once they reached the top the Agent placed his hand onto a scanner and then typed in a passcode, the large steel door infront opening when the authentication was complete.

Inside it stood another pair of suited Agents and another door, which opened from the inside as they approached. They now stood in one of the most secure locations in the country, even the air in there was strictly controlled by one of the most sophisticated security systems yet installed in any building. Fifty paces down the next corridor led to the Presidents office.

Twenty minutes later Under-Secretary Chritins emerged from this section after his meeting with the President. His two man security contingent led off, down the stairs and towards the same door that he had entered through.

This time instead of returning to his personal car they went to the underground car park and took a Secret Service Chevy Suburban, a large black vehicle who's engine roared as Agent Freeman took her out of the ground of the New White House and onto the nearby freeway, increasing speed as they did so. They had ten minutes to make the meeting and so speed was of the essence, the tags telling the local police to leave them well alone.

In the spacious back, which was usually filled by three Agents and firearms, Chritins pondered his task. President Anderson has authorized him to offer basic military aid to these people, whilst the case was reviewed further. The Wasp Carrier Group would be moving closer to the area, and if need be a Special Forces team of the 9th "Black Templar" Regiment could be sent within the day to the carrier for forward deployment.

The constitution of the Hitmen stated that they would preserve democracy at home and abroad. Lately they had laxed slightly from their constitutional duties, but President Anderson was looking to set that straight in the coming months.

OOC: Sorry, I should have made this a little clearer. The Republicans is the name of the rebel group. The current emperor's great-grandfather overthrew the senate in a short military coup. The senate was wiped out during the coup, and is no more. The Republicans wanted to overthrow the emperor by any means necessary, terrorism, civil war, sabotage, whatever, and reinstall the senate. Over the years, their numbers have dwindled down to this last stronghold. In short, the senate and Galiris' republic government has been gone for some time, the rebels want to get it back, and the emperor wants to wipe the rebels out.

Hitmen: I don't really care how involved you get. I'd prefer not a full-scale war, but I wouldn't mind a cold war or high tensions or something like that. Just know if the Galirisian government finds out anyone has soldiers on Galirisian soil without permission, or are lending aid to the rebels, the government (and most likely the people of Galiris too, since all news companies are controlled by the government) will be very angry with them.

Mark:Oh, ok then. It's ok to RP the rebels a bit, just don't do anything a small group of rebels who wouldn't stand a chance against its enemy wouldn't do

IC:
"Have you sent word to our allies, Minister Wald?"

The Minister of Foriegn Affiars, Judy Wald, the Prime Minister, Keith Erikson, the Minister of War, Brandon Smith, the Minister of Intelligence, Gordon Jacobs, and the Emperor sat in his office. Much like the dining room, the Emperor's office was a large room with a high ceiling and with several tall windows.

"Yes, my emperor," Minister Wald replied.

"I hope they arrive with troops soon," Minister Jacobs said "We've already got reports on nations planning to aid the rebels. We've picked up a rumor that one nation is planning on sending a carrier group. We're working on confirming that."

"I agree," Minister Wald agreed "The international community has just recently turned its eyes to us. Some nations have been, well, different when we've spoken with them,"

The Emperor sighed and leaned forward on his desk.

"All this over, over... how many rebels did you say there were, Minister Jacobs.

"Our spy estimated 500 or so before his implants stopped transmitting,"

"500 rebels. 500 foolish men who could push us to war,"

Just then a servant came in and wispered in the Emperor's ear.

"Excellent, you are dismissed," he said to the servant. Then he turned back to his ministers.

"We've just recieved word that Undelia is willing to send aid. Minister Wald, please transmit our response to Undelia immediately. You are dismissed."

She rose and bowed. "I will, my Emperor,"

He turned back to the other ministers. "Minister Smith, I trust you have already gathered the force to attack the stronghold,"

"I have, my Emperor,"

"I also wish for the military to be kept on high alert throughout the assault. I don't want any of the rebels' friends to catch us off our guard. Minister Jacobs, keep an eye on the international community, and see if you can't get anouther agent into the stronghold. Minister Erikson, get me Commander Makley, I wish to speak with him. You are all dismissed."

They all rose, bowed, and left.

His Majesty, Emperor Alexander XI, would be pleased if you were to send military aid to Galiris. We are more than capable of handling a few rebels, but recent events have set the international community against Galiris' affairs. The Emperor wishes for Undelian and Crimson Sithian forces to be nearby to react should someone decide to be bold and send a landing force to aid the rebels. His Imperial Majesty requests that your forces land in Asrim City, accommodations will be waiting there. Of course, you are also welcome to aid in the assault of the rebel stronghold, if you wish it.

“In that case, I Grand Fleet will be dispatched to Asrim City. I shall place the coast guard and defense forces on high alert,” the general responded as he swiftly left the room.

To: Port Royal Sector Naval Command

Due to increased levels of naval activity in the region near Galiris, Port Royal Naval Command is directed to assign at least a small Flying Squadron to monitoring the situation, and keeping Federal trade lines open. At least two Intelligence Service ships are to be activated and sent into the area to monitor the developements. Also, a single fast destroyer is to be assigned to act as a command and transportation vessel for three Intelligence Service Teams, to be inserted via classified means to report on the situation.

Due to the constraints placed on us by having dispatched significant forces to monitor the Risban Situation, and the massive forces being deployed to our Western Naval Commands and Home Fleet to counter the increasing instablity in that direction, all vessels assigned will be organic to Port Royal Naval Command. No ships will be dispatched from neighboring Sevilla Naval Command, or from the Home Fleet. At least a moderate sized force will be needed on a 36 hour basis to respond to any escalation which will threaten the monitoring squadron. Further reinforcements may be dispatched in this event.

The New White House Press Room

President Anderson stood for his monthly press conference, one of the things he dreaded the most. The press had a habit of asking difficult questions, and then twisting the answers to make them even more controversial of just plain wacky. Once he had been asked on assylum, and one paper had printed his answer as "....banana's....." merely because he had said the word banana's during his answer, which drifted from topic to topic.

As usual the first three questions were prepared before hand, however after that the President had to answer almost on impluse, despite the two hour briefing he had just had from the Cheif of Staff and numerous aides.

The first three questions, all on homeland economics, passed quickly only to be replaced by the difficult stuff on foreign affairs. Ted Hughes, the journalist for the West Haven Times, stood first and started to speak as the President pointed to him.

"Mr President, in your opening statement today you spoke of preserving democracy abroad as well as at home, does this have any reference to the indications earlier this month that the USIH military is again on the expansion after our period of isolation from International Politics and that we will be taking a more active role in promoting democracy throughout the world?"

"Well Ted. I think that you must look at it from another perspective. Many nations are envious of the IH way of life, our freedoms, our economy, our very people. It is therefore the governments duty to protect the country from such nations. While we were in isolation little attention was paid to us, for our actions were insignificant to the world as they concerned only internal politics. Now we emerge from that period, and we interact with the world, there will be some nations who covert what we have. We must therefore protect it, and military expansion is the only way in which we can do so in the current world climate. I wish diplomacy would work 100% of the time, but the plain fact is that it doesn't. I would be surprised that it works completely more than 25% in the world we know."

"A follow up Sir: So our new foreign policy is to promote democracy via military force?"

"No Ted thats not what I said."

"Mr President you said that diplomacy only works 25% of the time, and you also say you want to spread democracy. At the same time the military is increased in size. This is hardly a co-incidence Sir."

"I think you are getting the wrong idea from the answer there. Review your notes Ted. John yes"

The President pointed at another reported, ending Ted's question.

"Mr President, the Department of Defence issued a small statement early this morning, at 3am to be precise, that the Wasp Carrier Battle Group is being moved close to the small nation of...."

The reporter had to look at his notes for the name of the country

"....Galiris."

"Yes that is correct, but I do not see the question there."

"Well Sir, if it is correct why did the Defence Department announce it at 3am in the morning to an empty press room?"

"The timing of Defence Department press releases is not a concern of mine I'm afraid."

"But Sir, this is the 5th most powerful warship currently operating in the 9th Fleet, surely if the Defence Department is announcing this they should announce it to somebody?"

"Yes they should, and I will be sure to tell the Secretary for Defence of their oversight."

"Very well Sir. But the fact that this warship and her group are being moved nearer to a nation that is in an ongoing time of suppressing pro-democratic forces and at the same time speeches by yourself and your cabinet focus on protecting democracy at home and abroad. What is the carrier doing there?"

"I'm sorry but I will not endanger the lives of our servicemen and women on those ships by answering that question. Those vessels will be in International Waters and will remain so for the duration of their operations in the area?"

"So USIH naval assets are conducting operations against the Galiris government?"

"No, I did not say that" The President said, as he thought to himself, Shit, did I just say that

From the edge of the stage the National Security Adviser tapped a Secret Service Agent and whispered something into his ear. The Agent then walked onto the podium behind the President and whispered the same message into his ear.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, I apologize but I must go now, there are some developments that I must attend to at once."

Without pausing for a response, he turned and left the stage, the room coming to its feet as he did so. Once off and behind a door in one of the many corridors in the House, he turned to his National Security Adviser

"Thanks Pete. We need to find out how he got that, Defence made no such announcement."

"Yes Sir. I always fancied being a plumber. Fixing leaks and all."

I'm a simple man, so I'll get straight to the point. Your fleets come too close to Galiris, the Emperor will order an attack on them. That is all.

IC:
"The entire navy is patrolling the coast, my Emperor," Minister Smith said "We have whole battalions in the costal cities, with the rest of the army patrolling the inland. As you wished, the army, navy, and air force is on high alert. I have also sent warnings to the fleets of Brydog and Independent Hitmen,"

"Very good, very good," the Emperor replied.

The Minister and the Emperor sat in his office, discussing the defence of Galiris, should it come to war.

"Has the assault force been assembled, yet?"

"Yes, my lord. They are in Cyril awaiting further orders,"

They continued to discuss orders when a servant entered. He wispred in the Emperor's ear. "Send him in," the Emperor said. The servant bowed and departed. He turned to Minister Smith and dismissed him. As he left, a tall, thin, dark-haired man enter. His stared coldly forward as he walked towards the Emperor's desk.

"Ah, Command Makley. Please have a seat,"

Only then did he break his cold, blank stare. He turned his head to the Emperor and said "Thank you, my lord. I was told you had orders for me,"

"Yes, I do. You are to head to Cyril and take command of the assault force there. I'm sure you've heard of the rebel stronghold in the mountians. I want you to assault it. I understand you were head of your class at the academy, which is why I choose you for this mission. Do not disappoint me,"

"I won't, my Emperor. What should I do with the rebels there?"

"They are enemies of Galiris. Kill them all. You're dismissed,"

Makley's face, unemotional until then, twisted into an evil grin. "I will, my Emperor," he said. He rose, bowed, and departed.

To the Respective Governments of Brydog, Independant Hitmen, The Sword and Shield;

I have recently recieved intelligence reports that naval forces from your nations are making what can be interpreted as aggressive movements toward the continent of Qer Tu, and specificly toward our ally nation of Galiris. I have also been informed by Galirian intelligence that their government did not request your presence within or near our waters, and that indeed they consider your recent maneuvers to be hostile. Bound by Qer Tu Universal Protocol #10, I have no choice but to issue the following statements to your governments. You have 24 hours to order your naval forces to stand down and evacuate the general area. If at the expiration of the prescribed timeframe your forces are found anywhere near Qer Tu Continental Waters, we of the Dominion will have no choice but to declare war on the offending nations. Consider wisely, my friends. We do not interfere in your affairs, and you would be well advised to stay out of ours.

Federal Republic Diplomatic communique via the Federal Foreign Ministry Offices

The Federal Republic acknowledges the rights of the nations of the Continent to exercise soveriegnty over thier territorial waters. However, they bound very close near several important trade routes vital to the Federal Republics prosperity including our all-important grain and foodstuff shipment lines from The Macabees and Padmasa. These lines are located in International waters just outside your territorial waters, and the Federal Navy reserves every right to defend them from possible threats.

As of this date, no Federal Naval vessel had violated your or any other nations territorial waters, and the naval task forces assigned to monitor the situation are in international waters. As such, the Federal Republic will regard any aggressive move against these ships to be a violation of international laws governing the seas, and we will move with utmost force against the aggressor state. Similarly, we will regard any attack by forces of your or any other nation upon nuetral merchant ships as an act of war against the Republic. In the event any attack is launched against any nuetral nation's naval warships in the area, Federal Republic naval assets will defend said nation, though it will not be considered an act of war against the Republic itself.

Our intelligence recently picked up a transmisson you sent to Crimson Sith. After reading it I have one question to ask. Do you really think Qer Tu would buy that? If you're defending shipping routes, then I'm the Emperess of Antarctica! Qer Tu has never made any move against shipping routes in international waters! And then, just as we're about to wipe out some rebels, who, might I add, favor republic governments like your own, a large fleet under your command just suddenly appears outside of Qer Tu's territorial waters to defend shipping routes that aren't and have never been threatened by Qer Tu. Did you really think we would believe your lies?

IC:

"So, they're just sitting there?"

"Yes my Emperor," Prime Minister Erikson replied, "I believe they will continue to do nothing, at least, not until we strike the stronghold,"

It was almost midnight. The Emperor and the Minister were in the Emperor's office, as usual, discussing the enemy fleets.

"Well, hopefully it will stay that way. I have anouther matter to discuss with you. I'm leaving you in charge of day to day business for two days. My daughter has just returned from the academy on vacation, and I wish to spend time with the family for awhile,"

"Of course, my Emperor,"

"I'm so proud my little Talia. She's the top of her class and an excellent student according to her instructors. She'll make a fine Emperess one day,"

"Is she really to become Empress, my lord?"

"Of course she will. You know as well as I the traditions. Titles of power have always gone to the eldest child, regradless of gender, since Galiris was just several small warring kingdoms,"

"Did you think she will be-" he stoped, the color drained from his face.

"Strong?" The Emperor supplied, "Of course she will be. Just because the four leaders before her were male dosen't mean she will be any less great then we were. Yes, one day she will become Alexandria, the twelfth Alexander or Alexandria in our family. I'm very proud of her,"

The color was slowly coming back to the Prime Minister's face "Forgive me, my Emperor. It is not my place to ask such foolish questions, it just slipped out,"

"It's alright Minister, you asked a good question. Now then, after I return, give the order for the assault force to move out. You will assume my day to day duties at 0800 hours when we will depart. If anything major comes up, contact me immediately. We will be in our family's estate on the outskirts of the city. Dimissed."

The Prime Minister left in the usual way. The Emperor continued to work. About a half an hour later, he heard small footsteps. He looked up and saw a small figure in the doorway.

"Father? Are you still up?" the figure said.

"Talia, why are you up so late? You need your rest," The Emperor said

"So do you, father, and you're alot older than I am," Talia replied.

"Hmm, I suppose your right," He paused a moment, looking at his daughter.

"Talia, what do you think of those rebels in the mountians, the Republicans?"

She shrugged, "They are weak, and the weak do not deserve power. I don't know much about them, but at the academy they taught us all about the strong, the weak, and power. The Great Kingdom was made because Queen Kordilia was strong enough to defeat the other kings and queens, and it fell due to King Franich's kind heart. The Republic was born out of his weakness, and therefore weak itself. It fell because Alexander VIII was stronger, and deserved power,"

The Emperor laughed "All excellent examples of the Law of the Strong and Weak. Its good to see the Academy is teaching you the Universal Laws very well,"

Talia paused for a moment. "Father, will the Empire ever fall?"

The Emperor looked at her for a moment. "No," he replied, "No, it will not. It will never fall. Why? Because we lead it. Your great-great grandfather, your great-grandfather, your grandfather, you, and I are all strong. And from our strength, the Empire gains strength. We may lose ground. We may even lose all of Galiris. Even if our enemies throw us into a prison, and gloat at us, and treat us like animals, we will keep our heads high, and the Empire will not fall, because as long as we are strong, and we remain true to the Empire, it can never die,"

Talia smiled, her father returned it.

"Good night, father. Oh, and as future Empress, I order you to get some sleep,"

The Emperor laughed. "I suppose I can't refuse an order from the future Empress,"

He got up from behind his desk and left his office with Talia.

Federal Republic Diplomatic Communique, issued directly from Foreign Minister Marlborough's Office

The Federal Republic can certainly understand your consternations, however the Republic has a long history of not involving itself in another nations internal affairs unless provoked. I can also understand that words like that, if even backed up by the history records, probably will not smoothe your feathers. So, I would ask you exactly what you consider a large fleet. Our Being a country that has been a traditional Naval Power for as long as anyone can remember, I can understand that perhaps you and I's views on what is large might differ. But, if you really consider a handful of destroyers being coordinating from a single cruiser a "large" task force, I am sorry.

These ships are operating out of a base already well depleted of it's normal shipping, on the other side of the world's oceans from the main forces of the Federal Navy. Now, the Republic has not survived for so long by launching offensive and aggressive campaigns against other nations while our forces are a world away, and I would not expect to start soon.

As for defending our shipping lanes, it is true you have never attacked ours in the past, and in the event of hostilities in the area you probably will not directly attack our shipping. However, it is also true conflict breeds the type who would love to ambush any shipping in the area and escape under the guise of conflict. Further, in the event anyone did attack our shipping in the course of hostilities, having a force already on hand is very important. Perhaps Galiris does not have to depend on on time and full shipments of products from around the globe, but the Republic is built upon it. We do not have the luxury of being lax or trusting others as you may do.

To, the Governments of Crimson Sith and Galiris

From the Office of the Foreign Minister of the Federal Republic

The Federal Republic regrets you believe our diplomatic communiques are full of propoganda, and I regret that our nations do not share warmer or more personal relations, or this situation would be much easier to discuss. I will reaffirm several policies with this communique.

The Republic wishes no interference in the internal affairs of any of your nations. Our task force, consisting of the destroyers Valkrye, Electra, and Sheffield, commanded by the cruiser Devonshire, is stationed in international waters, therefore outside of your areas of control, or your legal sphere of influence. These ships have strict orders not to enter your territorial waters, or interfere with any of your own merchant vessels, or vessels not flying under the banner of the Republic or of our ally the Unholy Empire of Padmasa. Therefore, as you can clearly see, we wish no ill to come to pass between our great nations. If under any circumstances one of our vessels was to stray into your territorial waters, or interfere with the governing of your nation and its right to free trade without an aggressive move against the Republic, it will be immediately pulled off the assignment, the commanding officers removed of rank and title, and a proper courts-martial setup by all of our nations to correct the error.

The Republic holds dear the right to navigate the seas freely, while not interfering with territorial rights as established by the general world consensus, and will therefore not remove its vessels from thier legal placement in defending our own ships which troll these waters.

Encrypted Communique to Commanding Officer, Port Royal Naval Command

From the Office of the Chancellor of the Federal Republic

Consider earlier orders concerning the Galiris situation to be null and void. New orders are issued as thus.

1. Maintain the Devonshire task force in international waters to keep watch over Federal shipping.

2. Reaffirm and take extra-ordinary care to remind the Task Force in question that its purpose is to keep a watch on Federal vessels only, and is not to stray outside of International Waters, or make movements towards the Continent which may be construed as aggressive.

3. Any information gathering missions that are being prepared or underway are hereby cancelled, take care to see that ones which operate inside Galiris are brought to a halt ASAP.

4. All information gathering, which will henceforth be comprised of watching Galiris and Continental official news sources, will be coordinated on the Devonshire.

Task Force Wasp will be remaining in International Waters. Any attempt to attack this group will be viewed as an act of war and appropriate steps will be taken. If threatened the group will defend itself from any and all aggressors.

Reply to the Government of Crimson Sith

The International Waters around your continent are free for the passage of any vessel that so desires passage through them. The Wasp Task Force shall stay in those waters for as long as is deemed necessary by the USIH. We strongly advise that you take back your threat, as these vessels shall not be leaving. Any attack upon them will be viewed as an act of war against the United States and we will react appropriately to such an act.

Do not push us into a war. Whilst we are not as strong as we might be, the United States has a proud warrior tradition that you do not want to have to witness, and we do not want you to witness.

We view your proclamation to leave the International Waters as unfriendly, and perhaps illadvised, we therefore give you time to take back your empty threat and consider your options so that a conflict does not ensue from something as small as an observation force.

IHS Wasp, Now approaching patrol station 40 nautical miles from the edge of International Waters

Rear-Admiral Simon Underwood sat on the bridge of Wasp as her bow cut through the cool water of the sea. Another orderly from the communication center just below handed him a message. Underwood’s left hand played with the peak of his IHS Periocles baseball cap as he read the brief message from Naval Forces Command at Gillen Naval Base. When he had read it through he handed it to the Captain of Wasp who was sitting in an identical seat to the left of his own.

“ Captain, bring the Task Force to DEFCON-3. Alert our fighters in the air that we have changed to Rules of Engagement Set Bravo-Four, we are authorized to use deadly force on our own accord in defence of the carrier group if it becomes apparent. Commander Bull, bring all of your aircraft to plus ten readiness, and have a squadron of F-22’s on plus-five.”

He reached onto the bulkhead above him and selected the phone that had marked above it a sticker stating CMDAIRDEF. This phone took him straight through to the Captain in charge of the group’s SAM systems, Captain Dutch Travis was also in charge of the Cruiser Arctic currently half a mile starboard of the carrier.

“Dutch, lets turn off all of your SAM systems. Energize but have them in the passive setting until I give the order. All of the vessels will use the data cross-linked from the Hawk’s, be prepared to target SM-3’s off of that.”

“Aye Aye Sir.”

With that Underwood returned the phone to its holder and picked up the next one along for the ASW commander on the Destroyer Martin and repeated the same message except that active sonar’s were now to be used instead of passive. They would blast the ocean looking for possible submerged contacts, whilst the two submarines accompanying the force would sprint out infront of it, and ride shotgun on its approach to the continent.

On one of the forward catapults an F-22S Sea Raptor sat, her weapons bays were now loaded with live missiles, as were those on the five F-22's currently providing a BARCAP for the group.

The Isomer Class carrier had 120 aircraft onboard. There were five squadrons of 12 F-22S Sea Raptors(60), a further four of FA/18 Super Hornets (48), and then a mixed squadron of 7 E-2CI Hawkeyes and 5 EA-6B Prowler AEW Aircraft.

Currently all but two aircraft were on deck and ready at varying stages of alert, the FA/18's armed for Air-Air Combat, but with bombs and other ground attack munitions first ready in the dedicated squadron amouries, well beneath the armoured flight deck in the bowels of the ship. The two that were down, a pair of F/A 18’s both were undergoing engine replacements that would keep them out of the air for at least two days, their crews sweating and fidgeting as they were assigned to temporary duty on the flight decks, or as auxiliary briefing officers.

What the hell is this? I see its still hip to gang up on nations a tenth of your size. Yaay for you, that must make you feel sooooo big and strong. Well, the bitch is back, and the bitch says NO. So withdraw your big ol impressive forces, hide them in woteva hole you brought them out off, and don't come back pestering the nice little nations of Qer Tu again, okeedokee? You should be ashamed of yourselves. Especially you, Hitmen, I thought you only liked to pick fights with nations your own size. I guess things change. So ya, bla bla bla, grave sounding threats, etc. Perhaps I should start evening the playing field.....but a giant war over something like this would be silly, don't you think? So piss of, k? Got that cutesy buttons? K thanx bye.

OoC: Mark: So Neo-Xvenzia is your puppet nation correct? And you meant for that post to be made by Grand master Mark, right?

To: The Sword and Sheild
From: Judy Wald, Galirisian Minister of Foriegn Affiars

Perhaps I should have clarified what I meant. By large, I meant more than necessary. Of coruse, I agree that in numbers, your fleet is small. I apologize if I was confusing. As we have been saying throughout this matter, no nation has the right to interfere with other nations' internal affiars. Since defending shipping routes is a internal affiar, we will not interfere with our fleet. Still, you have to admit that your fleet is rather suspicious.

To: Presgreif
From: Judy Wald, Galirisian Minister of Foriegn Affiars

We thank you for your defense of our position. No nation has the right to interfere with anouther's internal affairs. Once again, we thank you for your help.

To: All nations with fleets near Qer Tu territorial waters
From: Keith Erikson, Prime Minister of Galiris

We will tolerate your fleets nearby presence. However, I will issue this warning again, and ships entering Qer Tu territorial waters will be dealt with harsly, and their governments will have alot to answer for.

IC:

"Welcome back, my Emperor," Prime Minister Erikson said, "Was your vacation relaxing?"

"Very," The Emperor replied as he sat down behind his desk, "It was much better since nothing came up. I needed it badly, but now, back to work. Have you sent orders to the assault force, yet?"

"Yes, my lord. Commander Makley and his force are have already departed,"

"Good, good. Have our international friends made any moves?"

"No, my lord. They remain in international waters,"

"Very well then. If you see Minister Smith, tell him to lower the alert level for all branches of the military. Keep them on their toes, but no need to have them on highest alert if nothing's going to happen. How long do you think it will be for Commander Makley to reach the stronghold?"

"We estimate about 2 days, my lord,"

"Very well. Alert me when they engage the rebels,"

"I will my lord. What about the Undelian fleet on its way?"

He paused for a moment, considering. "I'm sure the Undelian government is well-informed. Tell them its their choice if they wish to continue or turn around, dimissed,"

"I will inform Minister Wald at once, my lord," and he left.

On the bridge of the floating fortress Dragon, the elderly Grand Admiral James Garteln ordered the Grand Fleet of the Overlord to continue on its present course. “We will not allow Qer’ Tu to be caught off guard. I want all soldiers at battle stations and on high alert,” bellowed the admiral as the fleet slowly made its way into the international waters around Galiris.

To Presgrief

For nations a tenth our size, when we have an Army that is 350,000 strong, or about half the size of most nations less than two weeks old, I hardly see how this is so. Just because we have a large number of people does not mean they are armed, uniformed, ready to be called up, or even able. Perhaps you should show some more pride in your ally's instead of basing thier chances solely on numbers. We consider all nations involved to be equals, regardless of size. It is you who should be ashamed for acting as if the people's of Galiris or Crimson Sith are any less able and proud and effective as yours.

To the Government of Crimson Sith

From the Office of the Foreign Minister of the Federal Republic

We cannot extend to you the relief we have that this potentially ruinious conflict for both of our nation's has been averted. The Federal Republic is grateful you understand our consternations when it comes to our position. No vessel of the Federal Republic Navy will violate your territorial waters without provocation. As for ships flying the flag of the Federal Republic while not of the Navy, we would hope our merchants are still welcome in your lands, but if they are not, we cannot be held accountable for the actions of these independent ships. Except in the case of overt actions against your nations by these ships, the Republic will hold you accountable for administering the proper justice to the offending party.

To the Government of Independent Hitman

From the Office of Chancellor of the Federal Republic

We understand your nation is in a similar position to ours in that our nuetral and legally placed fleets may face threats in the future to thier existence. Therefore, we hope that you will be willing to enter into a temporal defensive alliance in the region, whereby our two fleets would aid each other in the event of an attack upon them without provocation.

Our task force is miniscule and lacking the usual power of a Federal Naval Task Force, so we cannot offer much in immediate terms of aid as you can to us. However, we will open all of our naval bases and ports for your use in keeping your task force in supply. Furthermore, as a naval power, we can dedicate major forces in the future to defending your task force or extricating it from a difficult position.

However, we must stress that this temporal alliance would be defensive in nature. As such, if either of our nations were to attack or provoke any other power in the region into war, we would not be bound by the terms of this temporal alliance.

Allow Us to Disect This Garbage

To Presgrief

Its Presgreif, not Presgrief. I'm sorry that you are too mentaly lazy to even make sure you are writing the name of the nation you are addressing correctly. I'm sure such obvious blunders on your part have shut down more than one foreign embassy in your country.

For nations a tenth our size, when we have an Army that is 350,000 strong, or about half the size of most nations less than two weeks old, I hardly see how this is so.

This statement makes no sense. I assume that you are arguing that you aren't "bullying" anyone becuase you have an army of only 350,000. If your military force is really so puny, why do you engage so boldly and aggressively in international politics? You're either bullshiting me, or you're just really stupid. Back off before someone gets hurt.

Just because we have a large number of people does not mean they are armed, uniformed, ready to be called up, or even able.

Nobody's perfect.

Perhaps you should show some more pride in your ally's instead of basing thier chances solely on numbers.

Two things:
1) What the hell do my allies have to do with this situation?
2) Ah, I see, in your opinion I should "show pride" and ignore more grounded matters such as logistics, and basic arithmetic. Perhaps I should perform a glorious cavalry charge on some armored tanks as well, hmmm? Is this really your approach to potential combat situations? Soldiers, BE PROUD AND DON'T COUNT!

We consider all nations involved to be equals, regardless of size. It is you who should be ashamed for acting as if the people's of Galiris or Crimson Sith are any less able and proud and effective as yours.

What a wishy washy load of crap. Do you feel better about yourself now? "Less able and proud and effective", what in holy hell does this ambigious statement mean? Are they less effective and able? My fifteen million man expeditionary force says that they probably are. Are they my equals militarily or economically? Not by a long shot, and they are well aware of that fact. Please realize that yours is the only nation in existance which adheres to this quasi-rational nonmathematical approach to the abstract concepts of "equality" and "pride". My patience has worn thin. Withdraw your forces.

I do apologize, however i did not look carefully at your name and assumed it would be spelled as pres-grief, as in the word grief, and used its spelling. We regret this error deeply, but I hardly see how my grammar and spelling has anything to do with international matters.

This statement makes no sense. I assume that you are arguing that you aren't "bullying" anyone becuase you have an army of only 350,000. I agree, it made sense for a small time, because there was a statement preceding it which made it grammatically correct. However, after deleting, it appears I did not take enough time to ensure the rest of the statement did not appear awkward without the preceding one. I apologize.

Boldy and aggressively? Exactly what is so bold and aggressive about sending four small vessels into international waters to make sure none of my merchants get sent to the bottom by parties wishing to profit from this conflict (never have I stated that the nations themselves would attack them). I would consider trying ot order around vessels of other nations in waters beyond ones control rather aggressive, but I also am willing to consider your side of the situation, that the task forces could interfere with your internal affairs.

Nobody's perfect.

And I would like to see how a nation with a massive military manages to equip and field it, while at the same time keeping par economically and technologically with ones' enemies.

1) What the hell do my allies have to do with this situation?

I was referring to Crimson Sith and Galiris by "your allies".

No where did I say pride would discount numbers, more that you should perhaps consider that thier militaries more capable than a nation with a larger population. I could have 1 trillion people, that doesn't somehow mean I can defeat every nation on Earth. And let's look at logistics.

First, I do not have the capability to suddenly have 800,000,000 soldiers in an instant. Soldiers take time to train, clothe, equip, and deploy. So this discounts the idea that I could suddenly raise a giant army to invade Galiris or Crimson Sith. Next, supposing I did do such a thing, how would I keep them in supply. I would have to ship massive amounts of supplies and equipment from halfway across the world on ships I would have to defend with my Naval forces, while the bulk of my Navy is on the other side of the oceans. And all for what? Do I stand to gain from occupying Galiris or Crimson Sith. Neither appears to offer any substantial resource that would be worth the effort. For the pride perhaps then? It would be more like a humiliation, because assuming I can even send my army that far, it would require a huge devotion of money and resources I simply do not want to spend, and in all probability would lead to the ejection of my army from thier lands, and an extended cold war across the seas.

OOC: Number-wanking, when will we ever learn.

IC: So you have fifteen million men, how do you know they are of better quality than the troops fielded by Crimson Sith or Galiris. Just because there is more of them? History abound in examples of wars in which massive numerical superiority did not ensure victory. Or how about the massive infrastructure and network required to field all these troops. Makes your supply lines pretty ponderous, especially if you are having to do this across an ocean. In fact, there is a point at which you can simply have too many troops to be effective.

I still don't see how your approach is mathematical. Granted 15,000,000 > 1,000,000, but using things such as equipment or training as modifiers, another mathematical equiation can easily be made. 15,000,000 < 1,000,000 (20). Assuming 20 is the mathematical value of the modifiers assigned. Your approach ignores all the basic ideas that modern warfare is based on. Throwing millions of men at an enemy doesn't defeat them, it just gives them a hell of a time keeping thier guns from overheating.

The Nation of Samaran views with disgust the buildup of forces around Galiris. Due to the geographic proximity of the brewing conflict to our fifth security zone, and the recent promilitary public demonstrations The Samaranian Government has dispatched the Fourth battle group of the Fifth fleet to an over the horizon position in international waters in relation to the forces now gathering. We don't much care what the situation is but apparently its a small one so this time the defenders will get our help, the first shots fired between forces of any two nations will be met with a long range missile strike and the deployment of appropriate forces to the war zone. ALl nations are hereby warned that any internationally agressive actions taken as a result of Galiris internal affairs will be met with force. As our ships are located in far international waters and have orders only to respond to agressive actions, any interference with their operation will be deemed an act of war and will be met with appropriate force.

I don't command the Red Army, but a highly trained and specialized force with a huge training and equipment budget. Its too bad that you assume that everyone other than yourself is a moron.

First, I do not have the capability to suddenly have 800,000,000 soldiers in an instant.

Nor do I, what the fuck are you talking about.

Soldiers take time to train, clothe, equip, and deploy. So this discounts the idea that I could suddenly raise a giant army to invade Galiris or Crimson Sith.

No, I would expect that after provoking a war, you would take your time building up a nice force in "international waters". I know I would. This isn't about the ability to quickly squash your opponent, this is about you trolling for a casus belli.

Next, supposing I did do such a thing, how would I keep them in supply. I would have to ship massive amounts of supplies and equipment from halfway across the world on ships I would have to defend with my Naval forces, while the bulk of my Navy is on the other side of the oceans.

And if you really do have such a strong grasp of logistics, you know that this can all be done very efficiently, and in a relatively short time, if approached in an intelligent and organized manner. Grand-scale globe spanning war is nothing new.

I see, so you're just sticking your nose into other nation's affairs for the hell of it. You obviously have too much time on your hands.

OOC: Number-wanking, when will we ever learn.

I wouldn't say that a 15 million strong expeditionary force is number wanking for a nation of my size and capabilities. I suppose its convenient for you to label me a number wanker, and assume I'm some kind of cretin. 15 million isn't a number I pulled out of my ass, and it is, if anything, scaled down. I've delt militarily with many intelligent and well informed players in this game, and none of them have ever had a problem with my numbers or logistics. Go apply your stereotype to someone else.

IC: So you have fifteen million men, how do you know they are of better quality than the troops fielded by Crimson Sith or Galiris.

I don't really. I usually play future tech, so my armed forces are speced accordingly. It would take me quite a bit of time to respec for the modern tech scene, as I'm not exactly an expert on modern tech forces myself. But if you really want to argue this point, I'm sure I could whip up rough modern tech equivalents of the training and equipment my forces are subjected to.

Just because there is more of them? History abound in examples of wars in which massive numerical superiority did not ensure victory.

Thanks for the history lesson, but again, I'm not a moron. For the sake of argument though, Stalin overpowered Hitler pretty much with sheer numbers alone.

Or how about the massive infrastructure and network required to field all these troops. Makes your supply lines pretty ponderous, especially if you are having to do this across an ocean. In fact, there is a point at which you can simply have too many troops to be effective.

I still don't understand why it is you assume that I don't have any idea about war logistics and the requirements for mass mobilization and supply. Maybe its because I'm a girl? I don't know. I must admit that I find it rather insulting that you automatically assume that I'm some ditz that doesn't know what the hell she's doing.

My approach? What approach? Did I miss something? Did I post my orders of mobilization, supply, and engagement somewhere in this thread? I haven't even given you any information on my "approach". And why do you assume that my nation is pre-war Russia or something? Presgreif is a nation geared for war. A nice chunk of the annual budget is thrown into assuring that we remain militarily competitive. Its a policy which was adopted long ago, when we felt pressured into an arms race due to growing tensions between ourselves and certain then overpowering nations. Maybe you should do some research before jumping to conclusions about someone else's knowledge and abilities.

Throwing millions of men at an enemy doesn't defeat them, it just gives them a hell of a time keeping thier guns from overheating.

Agreed. I prefer to arm my men, train them, and divide them into combat units. Throwing men at my enemy never seemed a particularly sane way of waging war. Welcome to our century.

Nor do I, what the fuck are you talking about.

To calm your fears of my somehow imminent invasion of Qer Tu.

No, I would expect that after provoking a war, you would take your time building up a nice force in "international waters". I know I would. This isn't about the ability to quickly squash your opponent, this is about you trolling for a casus belli.

If I am at war, then I can be attacked in international waters. If I wanted to buildup a large force, I would send more ships then just four. In fact, I represent the smallest number of navla forces in the area. I will grant you that it can be construed that I am sending such a small force to be overlooked and perhaps be provoked. But my words and actions speak to the contrary.

And if you really do have such a strong grasp of logistics, you know that this can all be done very efficiently, and in a relatively short time, if approached in an intelligent and organized manner. Grand-scale globe spanning war is nothing new.

Short time? I would have to keep it up as long as the war drags on, which could be decades for all I know. And then continue it into an occupation. I never said I wasn't capable of doing it, just that I didn't want to. And it is nothing new, but usually you need the invading nation to be dedicated.

I see, so you're just sticking your nose into other nation's affairs for the hell of it. You obviously have too much time on your hands.

Actually, as I have stated time and time again, I am just making sure that piracy is not carried out against my merchant ships. While I am sure your nation is capable of feeding itself and fueling its industry by itself, the Republic is not. The nation was almost brought to its knees during The Macabees involvement in WWIX, and the Padmasa-Republic-Tortuga War through the exact same actions, and we only actively participated in one. I am sorry that we do not have the luxury to go without our merchants for a time.

Then I guess I am just from an earlier generation. I will take your comment at face value and assume that it is now generally accepted that 15 million man armies are just sent around the globe when nations are still at peace.

Generally, in modern war, you either have a well-trained and small army, or a massive conscript army. Perhaps this is not how the game is played anymore, after all, in cyberspace what stops you from having an uber-massive army trained better than the modern British one.

Thanks for the history lesson, but again, I'm not a moron. For the sake of argument though, Stalin overpowered Hitler pretty much with sheer numbers alone.

And an equality in material. The Soviets possessed as good or sometimes better weapons than thier Nazi counterparts, even pre-Barborossa. What lacked was the doctrine to field and use such a large Western army. As the war progresses they developed thier own unique doctrines.

What is this a red herring, how does this is anyway contradict or refute what I said. Nothing I have said relates to you being a girl, it was more in the way of reminding you of how easily disrupted your army would be without the sufficient resources. Sorry, I was not aware you were a military strategist and tactician and therefore I should assume you to know everything.

My approach? What approach? Did I miss something? Did I post my orders of mobilization, supply, and engagement somewhere in this thread? I haven't even given you any information on my "approach". Its a policy which was adopted long ago, when we felt pressured into an arms race due to growing tensions between ourselves and certain then overpowering nations. Maybe you should do some research before jumping to conclusions about someone else's knowledge and abilities.

Well, you said my approach was non-mathmatical, therefore I assumed that since you were saying my concepts were trounced by numbers, that numbers were your approach. And as for why I think your nation does not have high quality troops? Well, as I said you usually either have a small well-trained force or large conscript force. Using RL examples, any nation "geared for war" without being at war, is usually an economic sinkhole and will soon lose its military edge as the nation sinks into the abyss. North Korea, Hitler's Germany, the Soviet Union, it goes on and on. But, this is NS, so I am willing to suspend my disbelief for the moment.

I don't believe I ever implied or stated I believe you are a moron. I just happen to believe you are number-wanking.

Yes of course, because for a nation of 3+ billion to have an army of 15 million is unbelievable.

To calm your fears of my somehow imminent invasion of Qer Tu.

To calm my fears? Now there's an interesting choice of words...

So you're just being a pain in the ass for Galiris and his allies. Understood.

Short time? I would have to keep it up as long as the war drags on, which could be decades for all I know.

Decades, huh? I don't think so. Apparently you don't know anything about waging war.

Ya, how about this: you don't even know where the continent of Qer Tu is, yet supposedly you have some "shiping lines" running past it. You want to argue logistics and rationale? It seems that overnight, your nation discovered this up till now unknown continent, and managed to put major trade routes near its waters. You magically discover the continent, its nations and politics, and engage in this situation without a thread of a logical reason how any of this concerns you, nor how you would be aware of it. And we're all supposed to make some leap of faith, and take your word as to your intentions. Right.

Then I guess I am just from an earlier generation. I will take your comment at face value and assume that it is now generally accepted that 15 million man armies are just sent around the globe when nations are still at peace.

An earlier generation? What, like on NS? I don't think so. I've been around since the frickin slave wars. Though I must say I find it suspect that I've never even heard of you until today. As for "sending 15 million man armies around the world in times of peace", that's just something you pulled out of your ass, as no where did I state that such was my intention. Actually, I haven't even stated my intentions at all.

Generally, in modern war, you either have a well-trained and small army, or a massive conscript army. Perhaps this is not how the game is played anymore, after all, in cyberspace what stops you from having an uber-massive army trained better than the modern British one.

The game was never played in this manner. Sorry I don't adhere to your silly "either small or inept" formula.

And an equality in material. The Soviets possessed as good or sometimes better weapons than thier Nazi counterparts, even pre-Barborossa. What lacked was the doctrine to field and use such a large Western army. As the war progresses they developed thier own unique doctrines.

Um, no. But okay.

Yes, its a red herring. I live to win this dumb debate with you, and I'll use every trick in the book to do it.
You weren't aware that I'm a military strategist, so you assumed you could label me a number wanking moron. Get off your high horse, you profound thinker you.

Well, you said my approach was non-mathmatical, therefore I assumed that since you were saying my concepts were trounced by numbers, that numbers were your approach. And as for why I think your nation does not have high quality troops? Well, as I said you usually either have a small well-trained force or large conscript force. North Korea, Hitler's Germany, the Soviet Union, it goes on and on. But, this is NS, so I am willing to suspend my disbelief for the moment.

I find your assessment of the war economy to be shaky at best.
Actually, no, that's it. I refuse to participate in high-jacking this thread any further. Perhaps you feel the need to reduce every thread you participate in to bickering idiocy. I myself feel no such compulsion.

Sorry to all you guys, I just realized we kind of took over. It won't happen again. Lets play. :)

OOC: Ok, I just wrote up a long reply to your last comment, then I got to the end. Though you have made several points that I would love to refute, I shall digress. So I have deleted the entire reply, but there is something I have to say. And bear in mind this is all OOC. Ok, so I'm skimming through International Incidents and I see a thread that looks interesting. I see the chance to have some good character RP, no big major wars with hundreds of nations, just some good character rping and development (which is what I'm assuming this place was open for, after all, why would Galiris want his thread Open unless he wanted other people here).

Now I just can't have my people appear instantly, I need a reason for them to be there. So, being a nation dependent upon supplies, I said several trade routes go near this area, thus allowing to send something out that way to give me a base. In NS, we do just discover continents and say that so and so is this distance from whatever, since none of us actually knows where anything is.

I intentionally sent a miniscule task force there to give me a starting position, and not make it look like I was coming to take over the joint, as my nation's size makes some people think. I came up with three characters, the commander of the task force, the liasion between the rebels and the Republic (yes, I was going to help them), and the Ambassador to Galiris. Perfect, this is gonna be fun, right?

But no, despite having sent such a small force, and deliberately placing the rest of my forces as far away as I could, people still think I am here for a major war. At every turn I have to fend off another nation that says its gonna blow me to little tiny pieces unless I leave (then why the hell is the thread labeled open if no one is supposed to be here). People, I am not here for a major war, or to takeover Galiris, or to prove how big I am, just some good fun RP. Was it too much to assume everyone else was too?

Thank you. I appreciate it if we can keep the OOC posts to a minimum. I don't appreciate when an RP thread gets cluttered with OOC posts.

I never intended for this to develop into a war. I did intend for it to be a high tensions/cold war sort of thing, which is why my nation IC acts as if it about a few steps away from declaring war on you. As for why I made it open, well, at first I was going to make it closed, but as Crimson Sith pointed out, no one would pay attention to it then. So I decided to make it open instead. If I did make it closed, it would just have been Qer Tu members in it. Its alot more interesting when there are other nations involved.

I am not here for a major war, or to takeover Galiris, or to prove how big I am, just some good fun RP. Was it too much to assume everyone else was too?

I'm sure everyone else came here for that exact same reason. I made this RP because Qer Tu wasn't in any and Sith, Undelia, and I were kind of bored. We all came here for RP fun, not OOC arguments.

Now, to both of you. If you two are done, I'd like to continue this RP. If you're not, then I'm still going to continue this RP, and you two will kindly take your arguments somewhere else. I don't care where, just please don't fill the thread up with OOC posts. Thank you.

On anouther note, if everything goes as planned, this RP should be dying down soon. I never intended for it to be a long drawn out RP, just something short for Qer Tu to do in between RPs.

IC:
In the undeground section of the rebel stronghold
"Casualty Report!"

A loud explosion was heard. The lights in the underground command center flickered.

"We've lost 24 men, 42 are wounded," A young officer replied.

Anouther explosion rocked the rebel stronghold, the rebel commanders and other officers inside the room were thrown to their feet. As they got to their feet, a senior officer ran into the command center.

"Sir, there are sections in the southern and western walls that are just barely holding! We must pull our forces back into the underground section. It could only be a matter of moments before the Empire's troops break through!"

"Already?" the commander replied, "I was hoping the fortress would hold out a little longer,"

"Sir, the underground section is much better defended than the outer fortress. It will take them awhile just to get past the outer doors, and then there's all the additional security we have in the underground that we don't have outside,"

The commander sighed, "Very well, pull them back,"

"Yes sir!" the officer replied as he ran out of the command center

Outside the rebel stronghold

"Sir, we are about to break through the southern wall. The rebels appear to be retreating into the underground sections of the stronghold,"

"Already?" Commander Makley said with slight disappointment in his face, "I hoped they would have put up a better fight than this,"

He looked up at the rebel stronghold. It was hardly a stronghold, but rather, a run-down fort probably built during the Great Kingdom peroid. It was at the peak of a small mountian, and when they arrived it looked as if it would fall over with one shot. It proved stronger than it appeared, but still very weak. The dreary, depressing fort walls fromed a small square-shaped courtyard. The northern and southern walls died off into the mountain, under which, a much newer underground complex was built. The western wall once held a gate, but it had been replaced with newer, much stronger doors, while the eastern wall was the mountian itself. All in all, it didn't look like much of a challenge.

"Inform me when we break through," Commander Makley ordered the officer.

"Yes, sir!" he replied with a salute.

OOC: Presgreif, just to make clear here. I AM LOOKING FOR AN RP HERE. If I was ganging up on them and using my size do you think I would have deployed only one carrier? So few nations my size actually RP that I have to RP with nations smaller than myself, Ive been there and done that with creating a smaller nation and using that but I much prefer using the Hitmen. (I know you made up comment IC, im just making my OOC position clear.) I have no intention of invading, because as far as im concerned this is an RP that isn’t supposed to end in a massive war.

Message to the Office of Chancellor of the Federal Republic

Your offer is most generous. With the seemingly unstable attitudes of certain governments in the region we feel that this arrangement would be satisfactory in maintaining peace in the region whilst we continue to monitor the situation.

We have no intention of provoking a response, nor attacking any nation in that continent, and we feel that you do not either. Our forces are merely observational, to ensure that no international laws are broken, and as such they will remain a suitable distance into International Waters away from the territorial.

I shall at once open a line of communication between your government and our ships in the area to further the co-operation in the future.

President James Anderson.

Message to the Government of Presgreif

You accuse us of bullying, yet that is indeed what you yourself are trying to do to us in forcing our ships away from International Waters.

Those ships shall remain. We would advise you to stand down instead of making a conflict over a regional observation fleet.

The President of the United States of Independent Hitmen
James Anderson.

Message to the Government of Samaran

If our ships defend themselves, and are then attacked by missiles from your fleet the United States will have no choice but to also classify you as an aggressor and take the necessary steps to ensure the security of our vessels in the area.

I urge you to withdraw that order, and to have your ships merely observe ongoing developments in the area.

President James Anderson.

Message to independent Hitmen:

If your ships 'defend themselves' then clearly they would not be the agressors, Samaran is looking to keep this conflict internal to Galiris and will only fire if another nation agresses.

“Sir, we have reached Galirisian waters,” saluted Anthony Yankln, current Captain of the Dragon.

“Excellent. Right on Schedule,” said Grand Admiral Garteln as he gazed through the bridge’s excellent view of his massive flagship. “Contact Galiris. Tell them we will be patrolling their shores, to assure that they are allowed to carry out their actions in peace.”

“Yes sir.” saluted the Captain.

To: The Undelian Fleet
From: Judy Wald, Galirisian Minister of Foriegn Affairs

We thank you for you aid. It is good to know that Galiris' allies are dependable. Continue to patrol the coast until you see it fit to leave.

To: All nations involved
From: Judy Wald, Galirisian Minister of Foriegn Affairs

Once again, we remind you all that any ship entering Qer Tu territorial waters without premission from a member of the Qer Tu Alliance will be dealt with harshly. The only expection is merchants. They will be warned and allowed time to leave before fired upon.

IC:

Commander Makley looked up at the stronghold. It was about noon of the second day of the assault. The western and southern walls had caved in, but they had no luck getting into the underground sections. He looked back down to the squad he had selected. The appeared professional enough, he hoped they would get the job done.

"As you all know, we're having some trouble getting into the base," he adressed them, "The main door to the underground section is stronger than we expected, and we don't have the explosives to blast through or the equipment to bypass the door. We have not lost, though, not yet," he pulled out a large rolled up piece of paper. "The Emperor managed to get his hands on a blueprint of the base, and as you can see here, there's anouther way in,"

The members of the special operations squad leaned in to examine the blueprint.

"Down the mountain further, on the eastern side, there is a sewage drain, protected by nothing more than a grate. The sewers lead all the way back up to the underground sections of the base. I want you to infiltrate the base via the sewers, get to security, and open the main doors. Once the main doors are open, we will have no trouble overtaking the rest of the base. We looted some uniforms off of the dead rebel soldiers, so you will have no trouble moving about inside, hopefully. Also, you'll have to watch out we you approach the sewer opening. There's a lone watchtower on the eastern side of the mountian, you'll have to be careful not to be spotted. Report back here at sunset. Dismissed."

OOC:Hmm, intrest in this RP seems to have died out, oh well, its almost over anyway.

IC:
The eastern slope of the mountian

"Let's go," the sergeant of the special ops squad ordered.

It was almost midnight, and the squad was down lower on the eastern side of the mountian, making their way to the sewers. They were being extra careful not to be spotted by the lone watchtower which was using a searchlight to scan the eastern side of the mountian.

The rebel watchtower

The rebel private sighed as he scanned the mountainside again. He was very bored. Being the only one assigned to the night shift in the watchtower, there wasn't alot of people to talk to. There's nothing over here, so why can't I go help on the western side fighting those damn Imperials?. Just then, something caught his eye. He stopped the searchlight and grabbed his binoculars. There appeared to be a small group of rebels near the sewage drain. What the-? Gunshot was heard, then he felt a searing hot pain in his chest, followed by coldness. He slumped over into the floor, dead.

The sewage drain

"Got 'em," said one of the privates as he lowered his sniper rifle.

"He'll be missed before long, we got to hurry," the sergeant.

The squad jumped up into the drain. It was big, about 7 feet in diameter. About 10 feet into the drain, a grate blocked the way in. One of the privates pulled a small handsaw out of her backpack.

"It's all rusted," she said, "This may take a while,"

After about an hour, the grate came free and the squad made its way into the sewers.

The rebel watchtower

"Hey Al! I thought I'd come up here and vist ya. I figured you'd get lonely all by yourself up here and I'm off duty so-"

Just as he reached the top of the watchtower, he stopped, in shock of his friend that lay there on the floor bleeding and dead.

He stared blankly for a few moments.

"Shit!" he cursed as he ran back into the base.

The rebel stronghold, underground section

The sergeant cautiously open the hatch and peered out. There was no one around. He opened the hatch and wispered "Hurry," to his squad. They all scrambled up and quickly closed the hatch.

The quickly made their way to security. The first person they encountered was a senior officer.

"Greetings, sir," the sergeant saluted. Ther rest followed.

"Greet yourself, officer. I'm not in a good mood,"

"Why, sir?"

"Our watchman in the tower was shot. That means that there are Imperial forces on the eastern side of the mountian, where the drain is,"

"That is bad news, sir,"

"I'll say. One of our men says that the grate had been sawed open. That means that Imperial forces could be anywhere in our base," he then cast a supicious look at the sergeant and the rest of the squad.

"Who are you? What is you name and rank? Show me your identification cards!" he ordered

"Well, about that-" the sergeant replied. He broke off and jabbed a needle into the officers stomach, and injected the deadly posion. One of the privates had ran around behind him and covered his mouth.

"Mfpht-!" he tried to scream, but the private's hand stifled him. His face twisted in pain as the posion took him. Then he slumped over, dead.

"There's no where to hide the body," one of the privates noticed.

"We'll have to leave it. Let's hurry," the sergeant replied.

As they made their way to the security center, they encountered an increasing of officers and groups. Few stopped them though, and none suspected them like the senior officer.

They fortunately got to the security center without any further encounters with death. As they entered, they saw that there was only three men in the room. They were so busy that they didn't even notice the squad.

"Seal off the room," the sergeant ordered one of the privates. He did so. Once he was done the sergeant spoke up. "Alright," he said in a very loud voice, "everyone up against the wall,"

Only then did the officers in the room notice them, and the guns pointed at them. The raised their hands in the air and obediently got up against the wall.

"Kill them," the sergeant told one of his privates. "The rest of you, get those doors open,"

"Yes, sir," they all repied in unison.

Outside the rebel stronghold

"Sir," one of Makley's officers saluted, "The doors to the underground section are open, sir!"

The rising sun of the 3rd day of the assault gave just enough light to see the evil grin on Makley's face.

"Excellent," Commander Makley replied, "Move all of our forces inside. Kill everyone in the base,"

The rebel command center, underground section of the base

"Sir! The main doors have been opened!" an officer shouted

"WHAT?!" the commander replied.

"Security has opened the main doors, Sir!"

"Close them!"

"I can't, sir! Security controls have been locked down! They can only be accessed through the Security center, and the door has been locked shut!"

"Damn it!" the commander cursed.

Shouts and gunfire were heard outside the room. Seconds later Imperial troops stormed into the command center.

"We surren-!" one of the senior officers began. He didn't have time to finsish, though, as several bullets embedded themselves in his chest.

Cacira, The Imperial Palace

"My lord," the Prime Minister said respectfully to the Emperor.

"What is it, Erikson?" the Emperor replied.

They were in the Imperial Dining Room, the Emperor was eating his breakfast.

"We've just recieved word for Commander Makley, my lord. The rebel stronghold has fallen,"

"Good, how many?"

"We had 67 deaths, 134 injuries. The rebels were all killed, as you wished, there were 536 of them,"

The Emperor sighed, "It is a sad day when Galirisians must kill Galirisians. But just as the body must kill diseases that infect it, we must also kill those who would weaken Galiris. It had to be done, in order to ensure Galiris' surivival and prosperity. Make an announcement in a press conference about this incident. Dismissed,"

The Minister bowed and left. The Emperor got up and walked to a window, and stared out at his Empire.

OOC: As far as I'm concerned, this RP is over. Other nations may continue to post updates on their fleets and relations if they wish, but the main story is over. Thanks to all who participated.
