Looking to fill in a gap in its arsenal, the NDPN has announced a contract with Jensen Design to begin production of converted Mao Zedong II Battleships capable of carrying fighters, and design of an all new carrier.

The converted Mao II's will feature expanded room for fighter transport, adding two side sponsons capable of carrying 150 Marinesko TIEs or 100 Komsomol IIs each, and transferring some weaponry from the main body of the ship to the sponsons and englarging the main hull to make room for 50 more Marineskos or 40 more Komsomols. To be dubbed Abraham Lincoln, the new carriers will enter service soon as a stopgap.

Meanwhile, the Commissariat of National Defense has issued a general set of requirements for a dedicated carrier.

They are:
-Must be able to carry at least 500 TIEs or 450 Komsomol II Veritechs
-Must be able to achieve speeds of 80-90 MGLT
-Must be able to deploy in space and atmosphere
-Must be able to have exceptional defense against enemy threats
-Must be able to provide fire support for fighters while fighters are deployed
