HT officially joins The Republic

Three ambassadors fly across the boundlessness of space, in a small diplomatic craft, to confirm the acceptance of Hyperspatial Travel into The Republic.

The engines give a small shudder, and the shimmering view outside turns black. One of the ambassadors, Chi Kliy, a female human, faints, and quickly recovers. As a confirmed hater of space travel, she is loathing every minute of this trip.

The ship shifts into zero-G, in order to maintain power for the long journey. The three ambassadors slip into comfortable chairs, each with a small gravity-generating field. Within seventeen hours of real-time, or twelve days in truespace, the ship will arrive at Kazecistan, move to Taledonia, and the ambassadors will meet with many other rulers of each induvidual nation in The Republic.

Time passes swiftly, and the ship is only and hour away from entering Kazecistan, and the ambassadors are woken, preparing for speeches, drinking vitamin supplements, and adding nutrients which are not always available in other atmospheres. They assume Kazecistan is ready to receive them, and quietly lie back down to sleep.

ooc: Alright, we can hold the entire thing in Kazeci territory, but I'll disappear for the end of it. Taledonia will not be RPing here ever again, sadly.

Ic: As the diplomatic vessel entered Kazeci space, It was greeted by one of the ever so common Super Cruisers. After receiving directions, they arrived over Kazac, the Kazeci home world. Standard recorded transmissions followed. "Greetings and welcome to Kazeci space..." "Please proceed to..." "Have a nice stay..."

The small docks swarmed and latched onto the ship in as many places as possible, like blood thirsty leaches on an exposed leg. They guided it into a high orbit and began to accept passengers through their extended arms. Once in the tiny stations, they boarded Bullet Transports and were taken on a scenic ride to the surface.

The ambassadors were swept hurriedly into Kazeci space, looking with disinterest at the military vessels, but all three were quite appreciative in the many beautiful things in Kazeci design.

They relaxed momentarily, wondering at the scenery and strange animals and plants from other worlds. One of them tapped delicately at a wrist-held device, which began recording the scenery. His wife loved such scenes, and it would give them an insight on Kazeci bioculture, which would be transmitted back to the scientists after they arrived at a long-range transmitter.

The non-human ambassador had already finished the painful process of transmutating into a form pleasing to human eyes, a silvery fairy-like creature, without wings, but nonetheless looked as if it was made of gossamer. The momentary shock of a different enviroment had caused a small amount of black fumes to emit from it, which dissipated harmlessly into the air. Shirarae was hugely embarrassed, but managed not to let it show.

The three mentally prepared themselves for speaking with Kazeci officials and politicians, which would obviously be a tiring process once on the surface.

After several low passes through the sparse buildings of the city and over the vast forests, they landed. Above the surface were large skyscrapers with artistically rounded features. They were painted in neutral tones and only appeared once every .5 - 1.5 miles. They landed in what appeared to be a hole in the ground. After entering they found the real city. The craft sped over the runway, slowing as it passed through the speed reduction shielding. They stepped out onto the 'terminal' area in the back of the landing area. People walked freely to and from many other BTs along this space.

They were lead to a personal transport which took them along the rail system and to the base of one of the sky scrapers. They saw many of the things the underground part of the city had to offer through the one-way-vision sides. As they slowly came to a stop, they realized another unique feature about the vehicle they were in. It had a gyroscopic interior. As it began to climb up the now vertical rail, each of the seats within turned, so that the passengers were always right side up.

Once at the very top, they were released and taken to a rather large top floor office. There they met the members of the High Council and were lead out onto the spacious balcony for drinks.

ooc: Wow, you complement my nation so well without even being given a proper description of it! Thanks!

ooc: Despite your alliances, you are welcome to enter Kazeci space if your mission is one of peace. And we will NOT be crushed by any one any time soon.

The ambassadors were prepared for many things, but were still surprised at the beauty of the city, as the worlds they came from were poor, and practicality was more important.

They noticed the surprisingly relatively low level of technology, and the fact that hundreds of scanners, mounted weapons, and police didn't scatter around like blotches on an otherwise fair skin, as they did in most HT planets.

The thing that was most noticeable was the cleanliness level, people seemed to care about the enviroment around them, and it stood out greatly.

As they went up the elevator, each ambassador had rather different thoughts.

The male human felt slightly contemptuous, but at the same time jealous, of Kazec. He was raised on Flyinori, a planet which was disfigured by heavy mining, fillthy, and high-tech. He did, however, rein his thoughts in rather sharply, as an ambassador is never meant to think ill about the country he is visiting.

The female human was carefully neutral, liking the lack of ostentaneous technology, which, in her opinion served no use other than to supply politicians with an even bigger ego, but disliking the lack of obvious law enforcement, even though the planet seemed far from rife with crime.

The non-human approved wholeheartedly, realising that humans could, indeed form a suitable civilization. It felt much better at going to meet the politicians, thinking that no petty time-server could possibly pull off such a remarkable level of combined peace, beauty, and cleanliness.

As they stepped into the top floor, all three bowed at the same time, presenting a holographic image of a scroll, which outlined the acceptance of HT entering The Republic.

The three then rose, and began to introduce themselves to the Kazeci Council

OOC: Guess that creative writing course I took was well worth it, then.

ooc: Wow, I like that a lot.

Ic: Although the Kazeci city appeared to be designed for looks, the main goal of the engineers who built it was functionality. Functionality, not to be confused with efficiency, meant that things were made as efficient as possible with out encroaching on the secondary goal of aesthetics. Technology was mostly hidden and only made it's presence known through holographic displays, which were only visible when necessary.

There were 20 lesser council members and three major ones, one of whom was Sir William Lockhart. "Come, let's talk on the balcony, where we can enjoy the scenery and fresh air." He lead them out.

It was a long drop, but one could not fall without being caught by the emergency transporter system. To the west lay a vast ocean, which ranged in color from a white capped aqua-marine to a shimmering royal blue. In the south, the deciduous forest continued for as far as the eye could see. The east held vast plains and meadows. To the north were snow capped mountains, which majestically rose into the sky. Not a trace of civilization existed outside of the sparse and tasteful structures that rose high into the vivid blue sky. "Isn't this magnificent?"

"Indeed. The plundering of nature that is rife within humanity seems to have passed over your world, and I wonder precisely how you make this come about."

The non-human ambassador spoke, with a silvery, chiming voice, one that inspired awe in most humans, as well as a sense of well-being.

The ambassadors stood, looking silently at the view, and feeling rather insignificant in the vast, nay, expansiveness of nature.

The female human ambassador held out the scroll once more, and asked, albeit slightly rudely. "Councillor. If you could sign this, or the head of state, we would be much more at ease to enjoy the view. I really must report to my superiors (She then checks a small timepiece), within seven minutes. Unfortunately, the non-human races of HT do not understand the need for pleasantries. If you could sign, please?"

OOC: I enjoyed the part about the view greatly.

A runner came up to each of the visitors and politely asked, "What would you like to drink?"

ooc: Runners are basically servants. They are usually young, and their proximity to working individuals teaches them much. All Kazecis are at one point runners.

ooc: Thank you.

Ic: "Why of course." *Sir William sings the document* "We would love for you to stay, I hear that other Republic nations will be sending delegates soon."

Speaking to the other delegate, "Our world was once covered in wretched filth of old buildings and pollution. We had encroached on so much. Then there were the wars. Terrible wars in which we fought to the death to gain absolute control of the planet. We were forced underground for shelter. The others who stayed above ground perished at our hands for reasons history has forgotten." He takes a pause, deep in thought. "We began to cleans our world of our past. All traces of life on the surface were removed, all pollution filtered. It was a long and argus process to cleans this world. We remained secluded for many years, alone." Once again he stairs off in thought. "That was all before we discovered the vastness of space and the other cultures that inhabited it. It had been a long healing process, but our lands are now as untouched as they were before humans set foot upon it."

OOC: Ah, FINALLY. I had to switch computers three times, download Firefox twice, see it not work, go back to an old computer running '98, and use it's Internet Explorer. I can now post! (FF Victory Music)

The ambassador sighed, somewhat relieved, and stroked her finger along a strip of metal attached to her timepiece.

"It took such a disaster?!",She exclaimed "How terrible!" She smiled, and then spoke once more "Councillor. May I tell you about the new device which has both drastically reduced pollution on HT worlds, as well as multiplying our colony numbers greatly? People use entire planets as resorts, getaways, with a small dome which protects them from the enviroment. The enviroment of the planets remains untouched, and the people do not litter the home planets. The effect is truly remarkable, even in these short few months".

She abruptly stops talking, and stares at the mountains, seemingly in a daze. Her fine-boned face pales, and she begins to topple over...

Quickly she was caught as she began to fall. A young runner had been near.

"Kazecistan is always interest in ways to preserve its environment, but for now it seems that our method is what works best for us. We keep the environment untouched and can create huge cities that sprawl for miles. Take this one for example, it's the largest one in Kazecistan and covers much of the planet."

Blood rushed to her face, and she groggily stood up. "Sorry, Couuuncillor.", she said, her tongue having a bit of trouble with enunciation. "I have a minor condit-tion, your air has a few compounds I have grown used to, and the lack of them caused me to faint. I will retire to my ship, and inject the obligatory chemicals into my blood. I should be back within a few hours."

The alien ambassador stood foward, and politely listened to what the councillor had to say. It was slightly interested, but only murmured agreement, before drifting off to converse with other people.

"I bid you good travel." He called after her.

ooc: All people friendly to Kazecistan and the Republic are welcome to magically* appear on the balcony and join the fun as I am leaving for a few weeks.

* Not magically, we assume that you went through security and rode the rail, etc.
