Iran/Turkmenistan Border

The ground rumbled along the border as the night wore on. It was the Osten Wehrmacht at it again. They were mobilizing for some other threat, real or otherwise. The products of the war factories, the massive mechanical behemoths rolled forward relentlessly through the desert. The gigantic mobilization was only known in full by members at the top. It consisted of five hundred thousand infantry as the backbone of the attack force, the one which would overrun Turkmenistan once and for all. Army Group Barbarossa, under the command of General Mike Bradley.

The machinery spearheading this force was impressive. The armored fist of the war machine consisted of six thousand of the new Ostkampfwagen VI Trotzig MBTs, backed up by three thousand Furstins, five thousand Ukufas, and nearly 10,000 Schwartes. Knowing the enemy's penchant for air power, twenty entire brigades of Ewigkeit vehicles were brought up for the assault, or nearly six thousand mobile SAM batteries. The Project Moerder platforms were being completed one after another, and five were in the air so far, hanging over major Bumsian cities, protecting against missile and air attack, doubling as a cruise missile launcher.

In reserve, three million men and a massive amount of equipment were being brought up by rail. This was nearly 40,000 tanks of all varieties, and upwards of a quarter million other vehicles, not including logistics. In Afghanistan, an army group of seven hundred thousand was being assembled in the capital city of Kabul, with an armored corps of five thousand Trotzigs, three thousand Festungs, a thousand Mutwatallises, and a roughly equal number of support vehicles. The army based in Kabul was codenamed Army Group Lionheart, under General Garrison's command.

At sea, Task Force Claymore was putting to sea, in secrecy. Not even the public would know until they were meeting victory. This force was consisted of twenty Indestructible-class Aircraft Carriers, twenty Model-class aircraft carriers, one hundred Manstein-class destroyers, one hundred Cartagena-class attack subs, and two hundred Abfuhr-class detroyers. This was supported by hundreds ASW choppers and thousands of carrier planes. This massive force was under the command of Admiral Edward McArthur.

The three-pronged strike, two of which were land-based, while was but a fraction of the nation's potential, presented a formidable force for any nation. The skies would grow dark for Truitt in the Stans, and the rising star of Lame Bums was to come...

[Above: Phase One. Numbers are in thousands. Dotted lines mean bombardment. Arrows mean attacks. The weird boxes are supposed to be Coastal Railguns but my Paint skills are lacking. IC post coming tomorrow.]

[Official Declairment of War]

As of 0550 this morning, we officially announce hostilities between the Fascist Confederacy of Lame Bums and the Jewittist Republic of Truitt. They have attacked a border town in a raid, killing 57 of our citizens and burning the town to the ground. As of now, a full retaliatory campaign is underway to end this tyranny.

Iran/Turkmenistan Border
[Day 1 - 0600]

The Truittis would soon wish they hadn't provoked the Bumsians.Ten minutes after the declairation of war, Army Group Barbarossa went into action. The preliminary bombardments were impressive. First, a thousand border railguns went into action, hitting the cities of Gyzylarbat, Ashgabat, Mary, and Gusgy, with Ashgabat, the capital, getting hit the hardest. Second, three thousand Furstin cannons went into action, bombarding the shit out of anything close to the border, capital city included. Whatever defenses the Truittis had managed to set up were haphazard and improvised at best: the artillery was sure to make short work of them. This massive bombardment lasted for precisely one hour, during which a total of 3,600,000 shells were fired at the Truitti defenses.

Not to let the enemy rest, the heat continued. The five thousand Ukufas unloaded their own brand of hellish fireworks along three points, the three through which the army would rush through. Within ten seconds, 160,000 rockets were in the air, hitting Truitti positions with their deadly weapons of OctaNitroCubane. Not even the cockroaches could survive that. Further back from the line, a total of one thousand Ausgang cruise missiles were fired, nearly simultaneously. Their job was to hit military bases, airfields, radar installations, barracks, and SAM sites further behind the line.

Immediately as soon as the rockets were in the air, the ground offensive started. Three seperate groups rolled forward out of the mountains, steamrolling their way toward their goals. The primary attack force was two seperate groups of 100,000 men with two thousand Trotzig tanks and three thousand Schwartes. A second front was opened about 120 miles west of Ashgabat, as the third group consisting of 180,000 men backed up by another two thousand Trotzigs rolled north, moving on the cities of Balkanabat and Gyzylarbat, hopefully turning a flank and rushing to a sweeping victory in Turkmenistan.

Further back, the reserves were moving forward. Army Group Guderian was broken off of Army Group Saladin, and was being moved up by rail to the front. This consisted of a further one million men, ten thousand Trotzig tanks, fifteen thousand Schwartes, two thousand Ukufas, and five thousand Furstins. This powerful force was under the command of General Norman, and would be ready in two days time for action. In the east, a force of one hundred thousand broke from Army Group Lionheart, headed to the Turkmenistan border. This was under the command of General Gravens, codenamed Army Group Montgomery. It was clear that this war was to be won and lost on the ground, with no ocean nearby for major naval action.

In the rear with the gear, movement was happening also. The entire army group Saladin was preparing to move out, under the command of General Wagner. They were mobilizing to the East Iran border, preparing for moves in that theater. In it's place was Army Group Callas, crack troops from the Iraqi Desert, under the command of General Summers. The addition of Group Callas more than doubled the strength of the troops in the war, this army group numbering 5.7 million and having twice as much equipment as the currently deployed forces. The wildcard was that most of the Callas troops were Kreigsgefangene - "resocialized" ex-convicts with no mercy or remorse. Brutal in the extreme, if unleashed would leave no two stones standing together or a single Jewittist alive.

On the home front, the economy was thrown into war production. All factories were re-tooled to build weapons of war. All goods were rationed, and wage caps placed. In a surge of nationalism, no draft was needed--on the patriotic day, the army grew in enlisted from 43 million to nearly 60 million, rising daily. It was only a matter of time before the army would literally overrun the Jewittists.
