From the desk of Mahraghbi Tjar, N Y C Minister of Foreign Affairs:

In light of the current tragedies and genocides across the globe, The government of N Y C calls for the formation of a new international organization, The Association for the Management of Displaced Persons. The goal of this new body will be to arrange for the aid, transport, housing and if possible the safe return of refugees to their homeland if they so wish. It is deemed more effective to clearly organize and run one effort than to have multiple ones by a hodgepodge of nations. Hopefully, the formation of this organization will lead to better efficiency at helping the unfortunate who cannot help themselves.

The Association for the Management of Displaced Persons is open to all nations willing to commit themselves to aiding refugees through monetary aid, acceptance of refugees, donation of transport, goods and services in any needed and possible combination.

After enough support is generated, and nations joined, I think our orders of business should be:
1. Give support as necessary in Pantera
2. Draft a constitution
3. Encourage others to join

"The elected government of the Confederacy of Mattikistan applauds this move to help the less fortunate peoples of the world. With so many nations finding it so much easier to cause misery and destruction, rather than do something constructive that will bring happiness, this move is a most welcome one. The Confederacy will most certainly support this organisation in whatever way we can.

And I would also like to reiterate that Mattikistan always has been and always will be open to displaced refugees and asylum seekers, whether they hope to stay on a temporary or permanent basis. Their place of origin is of no concern provided their claims are genuine.

Finally, I would urge any national leaders who still have an ounce of compassion or sanity left in their hearts to also give this organisation their endorsements. One act of sanity and compassion amid a morass of insanity and obscenities will not seriously hurt the 'evil' reputations so many of you appear to be looking for these days, I am sure.
