Planets under Megan Imperial Control
Valivarre System
The Valivarre system is the home solar system of the Megan Empire. The sun, Valivarre, is a slightly bluer sun than Sol due to its younger age, meaning it gives off a little less light and a little more radiation. The Valivarre system contains three planets capable of sustaining life, Tirol, Zendus, and Falcaro, all three of which orbit Fantoma, the system’s gas giant. The other planets listed here are used only to grow the energy rich Flower of Life, which the Invid have graciously offered there service to cultivate.
-Tirol-
While they are all roughly the same size as Earth, none are in truth planets, because Tirol, Zendus, and Falcaro all orbit the gas giant Fantoma. They receive light from both Fantoma and Valivarre, so nights are all too few, short, and far in between. Plants and animals alike have adapted, however. Vegetation on all three planets are very similar to the cacti of Earth, and races like Tirolians and Tiresians from Tirol, and Megans from Zendus have special melanins in their skin to protect from the constant radiation.
The homeworld of the Megan Empire, Tirol is the most densely population planet in the Empire. Nearly a complete city-planet, the surface of Tirol is still home to barely enough vegetation and natural bodies of water to maintain a natural ecosystem. Due to this fact, most indigenous species are either extinct or have been relocated to Zendus, Karbarra, Falcaro, or one of the many other habitable planets in the Empire.
-Zendus
The original homeworld of the Megan race before the establishment of the Empire, Zendus’ population densities are comparable to that of Earth’s. Sporadic pockets of cities are spread across the entire surface, coupled with 80% of the surface being ocean, making Zendus a beautiful planet and place to live.
-Falcaro
While it is a slightly smaller planet than either Tirol or Zendus, Falcaro contains less oceans and more inhabitable landmass. The planet is perfectly suited for a large agriculture industry, as it lacks many mountain ranges, tropical rainforests, and arctic zones due to its distance from Fantoma. The tourist and vacationing industry also cash in on Falcaro’s everlasting temperate climate, building many resorts and lodges near beaches.
-Fantoma
The benefit of orbiting Fantoma is the fact that all three core planets gain sufficient heat and light from the gas giant to sustain life. The planet itself is not all unlike Jupiter, with more blue and green tones to its gases.
-Canter
With an atmosphere comprised of mainly carbon dioxide and a very temperate environment, this planet was deemed ideal to begin the project of mass producing the Flower of Life. With cooperation from the Invid, the Empire sanctioned it as the first planet in the operation to be totally devoted to growing the energy rich plant. It is about twice the size of Tirol, and is the next planet after Fantoma from Valivarre.
-Anar
The second planet to be sanctioned for the use of the Invid to grow the precious Flower of Life, it also contains a CO2 rich atmosphere and a temperate climate. It is slightly larger than Canter and the next after it from Valivarre.
-Solus
The third and final planet in the Flower of Life sanctioning, it is the smallest of the three, and also the farthest from Valivarre.
Other Planets
The planets listed here are either conquered planets of the Megan Empire or have requested the protection of and have joined the Empire as a protectorate. Each planet is in its own solar system, showing just how large the Empire has become.
-Optera
The Invid homeworld, Optera is a planet not unlike Canter, and is a protectorate of the Megan Empire. In return for cultivating the Flower of Life in the Valivarre system, the Invid have asked that there homeworld be restricted from all non-Invid. The Empire obliged, and so far the only Megans to have seen Optera itself are the Imperial ambassadors that have served as on Optera.
-Karbarra
Karbarra is home to the cat-like humanoid Karbarran race. While much is known about their planet, their complex culture is still a mystery to those of the Megan, Tirolian, and Tiresian races. The planet itself is mostly forested, and oceans cover nearly 60% of the surface area. There are a few large cities that serve as space ports for travelers.
-Praxia
Praxians are a humanoid race that keep to mostly to there selves. In their first ventures into space they met the Megan Imperial Cruiser Gattica, the officers of which began the negotiations that would eventually induct the Praxians and their homeworld Praxia into the Megan Empire. The planet itself has very Earth-like climates and landmasses.
-Garuda
Garuda is home to the reptilian humanoid Garudan race. The Garudans have a fascination with the human-like races of the Megans, Tirolians, and Tiresians, and can be found just about anywhere in the Empire. Their need for knowledge is never satisfied, and many serve in the now integrated Space Corps exploration and science fleets. The planet Garuda is a covered nearly 85% with oceans, and many of the Garudan cities are underwater due to coastal flooding. Many major cities have grown even larger since the expansion of the Empire to include Garuda.
-Spheresia
Home to the telepathic society of the Spheresians, the planet Spheresia is a barren desert wasteland due to its proximity to its sun. The Spheresians themselves are a snake-like race that doesn’t speak very much, as they are able to communicate telepathically. They live underground during the day and are nocturnal. Their technology allows them to synthesize water through binding molecules however they wish, a technology which the Spheresian government will not disclose to anyone, including the Empire that they are a part of.
-Preyto
Preytonians are a mysterious race that has just recently joined the Empire. Not much is known about there culture, society, or even there anatomy for that matter. They are believed to be closely related to humans, however, or so one would perceive by their physical appearance.
Protectorates
While these planets are not members of the Empire, they are under the protection of the Imperial Government, making them more than just allied nations. They are encouraged to adopt the same laws and politics that the Empire has enacted.
-Naxder Drol
The Dictatorship of Naxder Drol is actually an empire in itself. It consists of two planets, Naxderia and Drollaria, which have unified in their efforts to achieve greatness. While it is a protectorate of the Megan Empire, it is not under Imperial rule.
-Voz
A close ally, the Protectorate of Voz is a newly inducted protectorate for the Empire. The people of Voz, or Vozans, are unique in that there DNA contains two double helixes. However, these helixes are not identical to each other. Even more amazing is the fact that while a Vozan has a unique DNA code in one helix, the other helix is identical to the second helix in every other Vozan that has ever been tested. This being noted, SOTA codebreakers are currently running every computer program they have at there disposal working around the clock to crack this encryption. There is no telling what secrets lye in the blood of this ancient and mysterious race.
Government
The Empire is governed by 3 separate bodies, TASC (Tactical Alpha Strategic Command), the Supreme Chancellor, and Parliament. Any major decision or bill that is drafted must be approved by all three governmental branches before it is affected into a law. Although it would seem that this would take an extreme amount of time, all voting is done electronically, and is therefore relatively quickly.
The Chancellorate
The Supreme Chancellor is elected by the people and holds this position until death, when a new chancellor is elected. The Supreme Chancellor has absolute power unless a vote of no confidence is given unanimously by TASC and Parliament. This power extends to all military affairs, judicial affairs, foreign affairs, and public affairs. By no means is the Chancellor above the law. As previously stated, a unanimous vote of no confidence can be effected at any time by the combined TASC and Parliament officials. Once this decision is reached, the Chancellor would be removed from office, and the Vice Chancellor would be sworn in as the new Supreme Chancellor. The current chancellor is Admiral Commandant (ret.) Neil Hawkins.
TASC
TASC officials are appointed every 5 Megan Standard Years by the Supreme Chancellor. These officials are career military officers and are the controlling body of the military. They are often fiercely loyal to the Supreme Chancellor, and all belong to the same political party (as if there is an opposing party in Megas) as the Chancellor. There is no limit to how many times an official can be appointed in a certain position. Though their jurisdiction is mainly the military forces and judicial and emergency services, they have a very active role in politics, seeing every bill that passes through and approving or disproving them. TASC and Parliament vetoes are required to veto the Supreme Chancellor’s approval.
Parliament
Parliament representatives are elected every 5 years by the people of the Megan Empire. Each planet under Megan rule is divided into states or provinces. The amount of representative each province is permitted is determined by that province’s population. For every 1,000,000 citizens a province has, it is permitted one representative. The current Megan Parliament consists of 3,750 representatives. Representatives of Parliament have the power to collectively approve a bill, but if it is approved by the Supreme Chancellor, it cannot be vetoed by Parliament alone, but must be agreed in unison with TASC.

Provincial Government
Provincial systems are similar in structure to the Imperial system. Provinces are controlled by a Governor, who is elected for life, and a State Council, whose representatives are elected every 5 years. The representatives are elected from the province’s numerous districts in the same way that Parliament representatives are elected from the provinces, based on population. Both branches have equal power and must both approve a bill to enact a law.
City Government
Cities are governed by an elected Mayor and an elected City Council. Elections are held every 5 MSY and both branches are equal in power. The Mayor or the City Council may at any time form an independent commission to oversee any particular city project (such as property zoning or sewer system renovation) while the Mayor or City Council attends to political matters.

National Holidays:
-New Year-
Held on the last night and the first day of the year, the New Year celebration consists of all manners of festivities, including brilliant fireworks and light shows, as well as displays of great skill by military mech pilots. A great festival is held in all major cities, with food, dancing, and drinking. This is the only day of the year where public drinking is made legal, and many millions of people capitalize on the opportunity. NOTE: Drinking is permitted as long as the intoxicated person does not operate a speeder within safe time limits.
-Festival of Life-
An annual holiday located at the middle of the year, the first week (5 days) of Liflor consists of the Festival of Life. During the festival, Megans pay tribute to the Flower of Life, and all its energy creating capabilities have brought to their society, especially in technological advancements. A parade is held in the capitol city on the 4th day and a carnival that night. Many exhibitions are held for entertainment, scientific, and commercial industries. Gifts are exchanged between family members and good friends, making it very similar to the Terran holiday Christmas. However, there are no religious significances to the Festival of Life (except for the Invid, who live with and worship the Flower).
-Veteran Remembrance Day-
Held on the 3rd of Rilklor, this is a somber day in which the deeds and sacrifices of military veterans are honored. It also marks the anniversary of when the Hobbeebian War ended in 11,187, and the Megan Empire and her affiliates achieved victory over the Hobbeebian invaders. Many charity events are held on this day, including reenactments of the war. All military activity ceases during this holiday, when all ships of the Imperial Space Corps are called back to port, and their crews given shore leave. It is this day that the Empire is truly at its most vulnerable point.
-MechaTech Grand Prix-
This tournament is usually held during Onalor. One of the Megan Empire’s most popular and fast growing sports; mech fighting is both dangerous and exhilarating. Every year, the Empire’s greatest fighters gather together to compete in the MechaTech Grand Prix. During this tournament, the entire Empire physically shuts down, as people flock to the capitol to watch the tournament and those who weren’t lucky enough to get there retire to their homes and view the tournament via vid screens. The tournament is broadcast throughout the galaxy, and with the high amount of intergalactic competitors, it is thought that many other nations watch the tournament as well.
-Empire Day-
This day marks the anniversary of when the Grand Comprehensive Empire of Megas was founded. Like most other holidays, the people of Megas enjoy evening festivals filled with attractions, exhibits, food, dancing, drinking, and other sorts of fun-making. This day every year the Supreme Chancellor makes his State of the Empire address, in which he informs the public on the Empire’s latest achievements, expectations, and other political matters. Also unique of this day is it is the only holiday of the year that school is not cancelled. Instead, students are given special, day-long presentations on the day that the Empire was founded, when the Megans overcame their enemies, the Tirolians and Tiresians, and founded one, all-inclusive, planet-wide Empire. Since then that Empire has expanded to include more than 10 planets capable of sustaining life, and several protectorate territories.
-Conservation Day-
The 10th of Pachlor every year is known as Conservation Day. While not truly a ‘holiday’, Conservation Day is an Imperially sanctioned day, during which citizens are encouraged to remember there conservative roots and the Empire’s right-wing political structure. It was on this day in the year 10,205 of the Empire that all tabloids, magazines, vid shows, and pamphlets that were prone to liable were forever banished. Some believe that this suppresses the freedom of speech, but Megans are reminded on this day that it merely suppresses the freedom of false speech.
-Lover’s Eve-
On the 16th of Bejlor falls Lover’s Eve. This holiday is a popular wedding date. There is usually some sort of local festival or parade to commemorate this holiday, which was established in 11032. The holiday itself came about because the Imperial government wanted to promote same-sex marriage, due to the fact that there was an increase in homosexual activity that year. The idea caught on, and was sanctioned as an Imperial holiday in 11034. It is also popular holiday among teenage couples to experience sex for the first time. According to an Imperial survey, 1/3 of all Megan teens lose their virginity on this day. While the Imperial government discourages this, they focus more on the prevention of homosexuality.
-Other Holidays-
Many religious Terran holidays are celebrated every year with close proximity on the Megan calendar to the Terran calendar. Although these holidays are not officially sanctioned by the Imperial government, they are not discouraged. Many businesses capitalize on holidays such as Christmas, Easter, and St. Valentine’s Day.
Cuisine: Megans enjoy a very illustrious and varied choice of food, including many Terran dishes such as BBQ Ribs, Sushi, Enchiladas, Hamburgers, etc… Native dishes include rarities such as fried imperial dragon toes and spicy howlrunner steaks.
Fashions: Undershirts, robes, and pants are the traditional attire for men and long dresses for women in the upper class society. Lower class trends are geared more toward more tunic-like shirts and pants for men, and tunics and long skirts for women.
Entertainment: Vid movies are a large industry in Megas, as well as vid shows. Many amusement parks are scattered throughout the Empire, and ‘hotspots’ such as beaches and ‘coldspots’ such as ski resorts attract tourism. Gambling is legal in sanctioned areas, and is a large industry. VR holo-games are an expensive pastime, but are popular nonetheless. Many upper-class citizens own a holo-room, in which a VR world can be programmed into.
Sports: Megans enjoy a robust sports sector of their economy, with new-age automotive racing and mech fighting dominating the spotlights. Auto racing consists of many different categories, including drag, stock car, and formula-one. In mech fighting, sponsored mostly by MechaTech Corporation, opponents fight each other in a domed force field approximately 2 miles in diameter and 1 mile tall, piloting 50 ft., custom-built mechs. The arenas also limit energy weapon power, and ballistic projectile weapons are not sanctioned, so damage is minimal. A competitor is named the victor when their opponent’s mech has reached its allotted amount of damage and shuts down.
Education: The current public education system is in disarray, and offers little to Megas’ growing population. However, private schools and universities are making up the deficit. Current grade hierarchy:
- Primary school
P1 (first grade, students start at age 5)
P2 (second grade)
P3 (third grade)
- Intermediary School
I4 (fourth grade)
I5 (fifth grade)
I6 (sixth grade)
- Secondary school
S1 (seventh grade)
S2 (eighth grade)
S3 (ninth grade)
- Tertiary School
T1 (tenth grade)
T2 (eleventh grade)
T3 (twelfth grade)
Many pre-school opportunities are available for those who can afford it.
Colleges and Universities: Most colleges and universities are indirectly funded through the Megan military. Recruits who complete a 3 year term of service are given fully paid scholarships to the school of their choice.
Religion: Although religion isn’t technically banned by the Imperial government, it isn’t endorsed either. Churches and cults are treated as businesses and are considered in the same category as health clubs and private gyms. Because of this, churches are taxed just as any other organization. There are many diverse religions in Megas, including Baptist and Catholic Christians, Muslims, Buhhdists, Atheists, and Cultists. While these are directly persecuted by the Imperial Government, they are considered to be dangerous radicals, and many forms of public gatherings and worship are banned.
Population Diversity: There are three major races in the Megan Empire. The first are the Megans, who originally established the Empire over 11,000 years ago, and are from Zendus. The second are the Tirolians, who occupied most of the planet of Tirol. The third are the Tiresians, who are believed to be an evolutionary offshoot of the Tirolians, and coexisted relatively peacefully with them. There are many other species in the Empire, including Karbarrans, Spheresians, Praxians, Preytonians, Garudans, and Invid. Few of these races actually inhabit Tirol, however. They are usually found on their respective home planets. If Jedi and Sith can be counted as populations, there are many of them. It is estimated that nearly 25% of the total population of the Empire is born Force-sensitive. Though this number is extremely high, only about 25% of Force-sensitives (just over 6% of the total population) receive training for their inborn powers. These Force users are regularly recruited to the military.
Population Density: Most of the inhabitants of the Empire are found in the Valivarre system among the planets Tirol, the city planet; Falcaro, the vacation hotspot; and Zendus, the Earth-like, multi-climate planet. Other than the core Valivarre system planets, key populated planets of the Empire include Karbarra and Garuda.
Brief History: Over 11,000 years ago, the Great War was fought between the Megans, from their Planet of Zendus, and the Tirolians and Tiresians, who banded together to fend off the invaders. Though they were outnumbered, the Megans held superior technology, as they possessed limited space travel capabilities that the natives of Tirol did not. This was how they reached Tirol in the first place. Originally, the Megans came in peace. However, the Tirolians and Tiresians soon learned about there Imperialistic views and politics, and no longer welcomed them, feeling that their communistic society would be threatened. Failing in their attempts to peacefully liberate the left-wing planet from itself, the Megans resorted to war. However, they did not fire the first shot. That was done by a Tirolian Air Force fighter that intercepted a Megan Imperial Starship while it was descending into Tirol’s atmosphere. The Megans declared total war, and soon their small fleet of ships were constantly making the 7-month sub-light speed journey to Tirol and back, carrying troops, supplies, and equipment. Eventually, the Megans took the capitol of Tirol, Monument City. An armistice was reached, called the Treaty of Monument. This treaty ended the war and began the negotiations for a new Tirol. It was decided that Tirol and Zendus would unite and become one Empire, the Grand Comprehensive Empire of Megas. Terms of this unification were that Tirol would be the capitol planet along with Monument City being its capitol, and the Megan government would control everything. The entire Megan capitol of Hoboken was moved to Monument City, where a new Imperial governmental system was established (described above).
The Megan Empire itself has expanded over the course of 10,000 years, encompassing at least ten solar systems (all of which have peacefully joined the Empire, none were forced through armed conflict), and ensuring the safety of several protectorate nations. As the Empire began to annex new worlds, the many races that were now part of a greater whole faced much segregation and lack of civil rights. The Invid Massacre of Liflor changed all of that. On the 1st of Liflor, 7,396, several bands of mercenaries banded together to wipe out the Invid. They nearly succeeded in their goal as they destroyed the Flower of Life harvesting facilities on Anar, along with all of the defenseless Invid workers inside. The Invid were furious, claiming that according to the treaty it was the Empire’s responsibility to ensure the safety of the workers. The Empire found itself of the brink of war. Quick, effective negotiations and the speed with which the mercenaries were captured and handed over to the Invid saved the Empire from undergoing a long and bloody battle.
Since then the Empire has existed in relative peace except for the Makhailan Incident and the bloody conflict it prompted, Hobbeebian War. In the year 11187 the people of the planet Falcaro rebelled against the Imperial government, declaring themselves the Free Nation of Makhail. A task force of 750 ships under the command of Fleet Commandant Daniel Fellows was dispatched to deal with the rebels under, and had nearly claimed victory when a dimensional gate opened over the planet. Out from the dime gate poured Hobbeebian ships, which carried ground forces as well. Tensions with Hobbeebia had escalated recently, but no one in TASC, Parliament, or the Empire expected such a blatant invasion, yet here it was. The Makhailan Incident lasted several days, and the Megan Empire claimed victory in space. The ground war was still raging when a Megan patrol picked up a task force of over 700 ships readying to dime gate to Falcaro. With only 200 ships left of his own 750 ship fleet, Supreme Chancellor Neil Hawkins ordered Fellows to evacuate his ground troops and retreat. It would take several days to gather enough ships to defend against the next Hobbeebian assault wave, and the Space Corps did not have that kind of time. Instead they fell back to Zendus, where over 1,000 Megan ships and 500 Chronosian vessels gathered in wait for the Hobbeebians to attack. After 3 days, the Hobbeebians struck, their ships numbering in the thousands. The Hobbeebians lost the initial space battle, but a second assault wave hammered what was left of the broken defenders, prompting the Megan fleet to retreat. Seeing that the Hobbeebians did not destroy Falcaro, they merely occupied it, the PF forces that were stationed on the planet decided to dig in and hold the planet itself from the Hobbeebians. The Hobbeebian navy continued to chase the Space Corps to Tirol, and it was there that the Megans unveiled the MIC Paragon, the most powerful ship ever built by the Megans. With her help, and the help of Megan allies such as Chronosia and Naxder Drol, the Megans achieved victory over the bulk of the Hobbeebian fleet, driving them back out of the system and liberating the Megan Empire once again. In the wake of this brutal and bloody war, most Falcarans abandoned their mission to form an independent country, especially after seeing the cruelty of Hobbeebian occupation. The war only lasted a week, but it proved to be the most deadly conflict the Empire had ever seen. Postwar reports suggested that over 1,000,000 Falcarans fought at the front lines of the war, most against there will, 750,000 of which died for a Hobbeebia cause that was not their own. According to military reports, there were over 75,000,000 casualties on both sides, 20,000,000 of which were Megan military men and women. Another 50,000,000 casualties were Hobbeebian soldiers and navy personel, and the remaining 5,000,000 were civilians killed either on Falcaro or Zendus.
The Treaty of Paragon was signed by the Emperor Hobbeeb of Hobbeebia and Supreme Chancellor Neil Hawkins onboard the MIC Paragon 2 years later, officially ending the hostilities between the two empires. Since then Megas and Hobbeebia have been united in their efforts to achieve military and social greatness. The people of both empires learned that their ideals are not all that different, and that being allies is much more profitable than being enemies. However, there are those that still harbored their hatred for Hobbeebians, namely those who suffered at the hands of the Hobbeebian military during their Falcaran occupation. Making claims such as the Hobbeebians were trying to take over the Empire through a puppet regime; these radicals were often arrested by the Megan government for spreading propaganda.
