RK Space Project - The Lowdown

OOCish: Random Kingdom is due, in the near/far/distant future, to start attempting to colonize space. In preparation, a Space Project has been announced, and the following space travel ideas have been drawn up:


The STCC Compliance Mandate
This is a set of regulations that is being drawn up to ensure that additional modules such as extra propulsion devices or external weapons systems fit any spacefarers.
Ark A1 concept "cryo-transporter"
This is the major spacefaring concept, so major that it has its own thread somewhere. It will be comprised of 4 modules, and will most probably be the most expensive item on the agenda, most likely stretching up through the billions.
Ranger EPD1000 extra propulsion device
This will be a basic safety-regualated hydrogen fuel and thrust system that will be used to propel stationary modules such as the top of the A1.
Ranger MNR-1 nuclear fission reactor
A plain old fission reactor will be used to cheaply power space modules.

OOC: It's good to see other nations developing their own space tech; too many FT nations are just using SW, ST, or WH40K tech or thinly-disguised knockoffs. I'd like to make you an offer to jump-start your space program. I just recently designed my own spacecraft, and I'm offering it up for export. I'd be more than happy to sell you a few to get you up and running more quickly. I'm not suggesting you buy my spacecraft in lieu of developing your own tech; by all means, continue your development. OOC: I'm not really Future Tech, I'm PostModern, hence the concept status of the spaceships, and their primitive nature. I'm hoping to use the Space Project to get into Future Tech.
