The Interstellar Republic of Talaax
Government: Officially a Republic, An Empire in Practice
Head of State Kunra, Dark Lord of the Sith
Head of Government Kunra, Dark Lord of the Sith
Capitol World Yuuzhan'tar
Composition
The Empire consists of several hundred planets, located on the outer rim of the galaxy. Yuuzhan'tar or "Creche of the Gods" is the home world of the Talaaxians. However, the Empire also has under it's control approximately 200 worldships which are essentially living spacecraft with populations in excess of 10 million. Each worldship is also the base of it's own fleet.
Economy
The Empire's economy is entirely self-sustaining, except for newly integrated technology, and as such trade with other instellar empires is generally avoided. The organic technology used throughout the Empire needs very few resources that are not contained on the worldships.
Technological supplies, particularily ship-building goods are imported regularily but there are very few exports.
Ships are sustained by feeding on space rock and uninhabited worlds. They survive on minerals rather than organic nutrients. The planets of the Empire are devoted mostly to growing and breeding the Empire's living servants, such as villips, starships and other such things. Outsiders are almost always strictly forbidden from setting foot on Talaaxian worlds and from obtaining the secrets of the Talaaxian's living servants.

The Talaaxian military consists mostly of the former warrior caste of Talaaxian society, comprising approximately 30% of the Talaaxian population of almost 4 billion people. The rest of the Talaaxian army is comprised of slave soldiers known as the Chazrach. Humanoid reptilian beings, the Chazrach are implanted with surge coral which through the use of blinding pain and powerful mental suggestions makes the Chazrach mindless drones which fight under the command of a battlefield yammosk.
Talaaxian ships are living creatures, bioengineered to serve Talaaxian masters. Ships are armed with plasma cannons. Ships range in sizes from tiny coralskipper fightercraft to massive Super Star Destroyer-analogs and worldships. All ships prove more than a match for their technological equivilents thanks to the war coordinators carried aboard capital ships. Yammosks, living creatures bred to act as organic battle coordination computers, direct all vessels in a Talaaxian fleet from coralskippers to SSDs. Under the influence of a yammosk, all vessels act in perfect coordination with each other.
Ships are propelled and shielded by gravity manipulating creatures called dovin basals. These creatures manipulate the gravity of the ships and surrounding space to propell the ships and create gravitic singularities to absorb incoming enemy fire. Dovin basals can also act as tractor beams and interdictors. As well, they can be used to tear the shielding off of enemy ships, exposing the hull underneath. Dovin basals can also be employed in planetary defense or destruction.
Recently with the end of the Yuuzhan Vong Civil War, however, new technological vessels have been implemented into the fleet. This "New Fleet" is generally superior to their organic counterparts as well as to many of their technological counterparts. Equipped with double shielding in the form of deflector shields and dovin basals, the ships are superbly protected. Their crews are made up of a cross-section of the former castes.
Talaaxian warriors and Chazrach slave soldiers arm and armour themselves with living creatures. Talaaxian warriors arm themselves with snake-like amphistaffs. Amphistaffs act can be used as spears, staffs, whips and are able to spit poison or inject it with a bite. A simple mental command shifts the amphistaff's state from rigid staff/spear to flexible whip form. Warriors are also armed with thud, razor and blast bugs. Thud bugs are flying insects with incredibly hard shells that fly themselves directly into enemy soldiers, knocking the wind out of them, breaking bones or rendering them unconscious. Razor bugs work in much the same way, only have razor sharp claws which slice through faces, necks and other vital areas in order to kill. Blast bugs are basically flying grenades that work in a kamikazi-like way. Chazrach are armed with coufees, basically shorter and less complicated amphistaffs. Blasters, war droids and other technological implements have also begun to be found in the Talaaxian army.
Warriors are armoured in voduun crab armour, capable of deflecting unconcentrated blasterfire and resisting lightsabers. There are some weakpoints, however. Chazrach are armoured in an inferior breed of the same armour.
Culture
Talaaxian culture was once based around a caste system comprising five castes. They were:
The Warrior caste, the second largest and most respected of the castes. These Talaaxians are responsible for the defense and security of the Empire.
The Shaper caste which is responsible for creating and caring for the Empire's biological technology.
The Intendent caste which is responsible for the daily governance of the Empire as well as diplomacy and espionage.
The Priest caste which handles all religious matters.
The Shamed caste, which is the largest but least respected caste. The Shamed Ones are the exploited masses of the Empire, taking care of all the things the other castes consider below them.
After the Shamed Uprising led by Jedi Knight Shoon-mi Esh, however, the caste system and Empire were abolished. Members of each former caste are no longer required to conform to their former roles in society.
Talaaxian culture revolves around a cult of pain. The Yuuzhan Vong believe that their chief deity, Yun-Yuuzhan, created the universe and lesser Gods by sacrificing parts of himself. As such, the Yuuzhan Vong honour this sacrifice by sacrificing parts of themselves in reverence to the Gods. In order to further honour the Gods the Yuuzhan Vong engage in full body tattooing and scarifications. They believe that their pain honours the Gods. Death is seen as a sacred thing and must be embraced fully. Dying with honour is the most sacred of all. The Yuuzhan Vong believe that after death they go to live with their Gods for eternity, but if they die without honour or with fear then the Gods will reject them. As such meeting death with honour and courage guarantees a Yuuzhan Vong a seat next to the Gods.
Talaaxians also worship a large pantheon of gods.
