The Stellar Navy today is announcing the pending retirement of it's Kali Class Battlestars, and Hampton Class Cruisers.

The Kali Class Battlestars:

After years of service to the Republic's star-navy, is due to be phased out. Slowly to be replaced with the new Anubis class Battlestar.

Anubis Class BattleStar; PCU Anubis (on trials)...
The Anubis class is a full 3,200 meters in length (as opposed to 3,060 meters for the Kali)... Weighting in at almost 56% more phase cannon emplacements (over 1000 cannons).

New designs are removing the old out-board pod Flight Decks, which have been a tradition of Battlestars in this Republic, for a new "merged hull" design, holding the flight deck center core of the vessel.

The Hampton Class of battlecruisers:

Will be undergoing a similar replacement, with the new Lexington Class (due for first delivery this year).

The Lexington only brings in engine and design improvements (such as the merged-hull flight deck), and additional cannon emplacements (a full 350 over the Hampton Class's 210....)

Both vessels will carry more marines and fighters than their predecesors; though complete numbers are still pending...
