April 29th, 1900

Today, a step in the right direction for a united and sovereign Macedonia has been taken as the main Macedonian factions fighting Ottoman oppression of the region of Macedonia have united under the leadership of Goce Delchev.

Goce Delchev stressed that a united front was needed for the cause to take shape, and to strengthen the threat against Ottoman rule, rumors of weapons and support from outside nations have been fueling the Macedonian Nationalist group, now called the PMN or Pan-Macedonian Nationalist.

The PMN is moving towards making demands, but as of yet is just consolidating their position in Macedonia and as a group, while gaining support in manpower, weapons, and money, though where all this is coming from is being kept a secret. Goce Delchev has stated quote, "We will not give up the cause until all of Macedonia is free of foreign powers and sovereign, or every last Macedonian is dead!"

5,000 Mosin-Nagant M91 Rifles, 100kg of TNT, $500,000 in gold bullion, and various surgical supplies and field rations are supplied to the PMN by smugglers operating in the Osogovske and Malesevske Mountains along the Bulgarian border. Although the weapons are of Russian manufacture, the Imperial Government has not openly involved itself in this conflict.

The Ottoman Empire will not withdraw from Macedonia, a key region in the empire. Macedonian will be treated equally like anyother group within the empire. We ask for them to step from insane call for rebellion.

Offically statement from the Sultan on the matter

In Macedonia, the Ottoman 4th Army was being call up to prevent any major rebellions in the area. The Army number well 40,000 troops to maintain law and order in the region.

Born on January 23, 1872 in Kukush (now Kilkis, nothern Greece), Delcev finished the local junior high school and the Bulgarian high school "St Cyril and Methodius" in Thessaloniki. He entered the Military academy in Sofia in 1891 but was expelled because he was a member of a socialist circle.
He was killed by the turks in the Bulgarian village Banitza(today's Goce Delchev town, Bulgaria)

Feburary 1901

To counter the Ottoman reforms, the PMN has started using newly aquired resources to fight out against the forces of the empire. TNT is being used to blow any new railways or other public work projects being set up in the Macedonian region, as well as ambushes on army patrols. The PMN has pledged that the Ottoman threat will lose it's grip on the region by the end of the decade, though it is highly argued how this will be achieved, the motivation is there none the less.

Goce Delchev has stated that recruitment is on the rise since the announced reforms by the Ottomans, and more Bulgarians are joining as well. The mountainous terrain of the Balkans lends itself well to the Guerrilla warfare that has started, and very few stockpiles or camps have been found by patrolling forces of the Ottoman army. Also casualties have been kept down with the help of the supplies that were recieved the month before, and the terrain which allows easy hit and run tactics.

The PMN and it's leader Goce Delchev have requested any support from foreign states, covert or overt. This is to combat the oppressive Ottoman Empire, which has been a scourge for years now.
Goce released the following statement:
"We, the freedom fighters, wish to stop the Muslim grip on South Eastern Europe from strangling all the people of Europe stand for. We have the right to resist, and the Ottoman's have no right to oppress the men and women of the Balkans any longer! Fighting will continue until full partition or all out war ensues. This is a fight not just for freedom, but for the protection of the Macedonian homeland, which is being hurt under occupation! I will end this speech with the words of Gjorgji Pulevski,

The Ottoman 4th Army began to double their patols of incomplete railroad network. They also began step up their counter raids on know rebel supply bases and towns that were know for supporting the rebellion. With the support of Muslim 20,000 Albanians,Macedonian and Bulgarians. The 4th Army began its war agains the rebellion. They began to find russian made weapons from death rebel soldiers and etc. The Ottoman Government began to wonder if the Russians were supporting the rebellion. Also in the Bulgaria, the Ottoman New from 10th Army group made of 30,000 Troops was send to Bulgaria to garrison the region and pervent Russian supplies from reaching the rebellion.

Bulgaria and Macedonia - the same language, the same customs, folk songs, the same race...............

Any Macedonians caught working against the resistance will be taken out and shot, as traitors of the homeland should. The resistance has started ambushing Ottoman units that move into the towns, and TNT is being used on road bridges as well as trains to cut the infrastructure and make it easier for the Macedonians to go unseen, and keep Ottoman units out of supply.

This is role play story not real life. So things are differents, as Independent Macedonia has said. This is about of What if History rp know as Earth 1900s....where things are different from real life and its only open to the members of this Earth 1900s rp.

The Ottomans still manger counter the Rebel attacks on the supply lines. They kept on rebuilding the rail and road bridges, and began to station guards at the key railroad points and bridges. For now they were busy shooting and killing as many rebel as they can. The Loyalist locals began to fight back the rebels and start to shot any rebel they saw on sight..As the towns that fighting against the Ottomans and supporting the rebels. The local Commanders were told to burn the each rebel town to the gound. As for the loyalist areas. The Ottomans along with Loyalist, began to beef up their defenses against Rebel raids. The Ottomans then began to send task forces in the hills and mountian areas to root out rebel strongholds and take their stockplies of arms and etc.

Goce Delchev gained much public support from the actions of the Ottoman barbarians,

"They have burned down your homes, and for what reason? Because you want to be free? Because we want the basic rights that every human being has at birth? They shoot down our sons, and burn our wives and children for their selfish reasons. They are fighting for pride, we are fighting for our families, and our freedom! We cannot lose this fight, we cannot stop until all those Turks are out of our land."

Now even Greeks and non-macedonian Slavs from all over the Macedonian region joined the cause, as their families has been slain or their houses burned. With bolstered ranks the PMN started purchasing weapons with the gold given to them, and smuggling them through Pristina into Macedonia. Some radical groups moved into Ottoman areas around Constantanople to avenge their familes by attacking the Ottoman military bases in suicide attacks. They would run into the bases guns blazing, and throw satchel charges towards important targets. Few if any lived these attacks but they gave everyone else a small respite and the courage to continue on.

OOC:Independent Macedonia- Minor Problem for one the Muslims living in Macedonia, would not side with you. They would side with the Ottomans as the Loyalist, I like have posted. In rl the Muslim Macedonians sided with the Ottomans then to Nationalist Macedonians, which fougth against the rebels.. So could you please rewrite that part. For the post overall petty good

IC: Ottoman reaction to this latest uprising more and more butal... They began to blockade every key road in Macedonia Itself,by seting up road blocks on every road leading in the the rouge region. Then to they began to attack the rebel supply lines. Just trying to pervent the rebels from getting goods from outside. The loyalist Militias began to raid rebel held regions and sack every rebel town they saw. Just freeing up the Army to step their attacks on rebel bases. Then the Ottomans decide to take up policy found by a American Civil War General by the of William Tecumseh Sherman, who use the policy of Scorched earth against the South. Yet before the Ottomans did this scorched earth policy. They give the rebel one last chance to stop the killing.

We will give your region limted Independence from the emprie, just meaning you have your own governement to manger your region affairs. Yet you'll be apart of the empire. It is you that bought this hardship on your people. If you would have came to us peaceful. We could have work out something,but no you wanted war and now you have it. We will give you 24 hours to reply or face total war.

Reply from Rebel leaders-

We are not the ones that wanted war, our only wish was freedom. You moved your soldiers into our lands, just because we were growing more independent. That aside, we will consider your demands, though we will need some time to figure out the wishes of the people, as such, we propose a cease-fire, with your troops pulling out of Macedonia and our warriors agreeing to stop attacks on your military and civilian facilities. This will give both groups time to come up with terms that are beneficial for both sides, and hopefully peace and freedom will be assured.

To Rebel leaders
Agree ,we have decide to have cease fire to stop the fighting for now. We will give you four days at the max to decide after that. Fignthing will began again. Also as a sign of good faith we are withdrawing our troops to the outline areas of the region.

Letter from the leaders of the resistance-
We have decided to accept your proposal, our forces will dismantle by the end of the 4 day period. A partial government will be set up in a few months to better facilitate the limited rule that we are being rewarded with.


The soldiers of the PMN returned to their homes, put their weapons in a closet and exchanged the gun for the plow to rebuild all that had been destroyed. The people would not soon forget the terrible acts of the Ottomans, but for now they would endure.

Skopje was selected to be the seat of the limited government for the new land of Macedonia. A few of the Greeks and Bulgarians in their respective areas of historical Macedonia started to move towards their formal lands, fearing that if a free Macedonia ever did come to form, they would be mistreated or forgotten in the formative years.

With jobs being freed up for Macedonians, unemployment was down, and Macedonian unity was up, currently reconstuction was more important than anything else though.

To Rebel leaders
You have meet a wise choice on this matter. May in the future both side learn to live peaceful without going to war again.

Ottomans return to building up the region. With public works projects such as the Railroad network and the build factories to give jobs to the local people in the hopes of impoving relations with the people. Most of the Ottomans forces in the area were taken out and just living a very small force to maintain law and order for the region.

(This is intended to be a secret communication with the autonomous Skopje government. The overall intention is to essentially start the Italo-Turkish War of 1911 in 1904-1905-ish. The Italo-Turkish War sparked the Balkan wars, as the I-T war showed the Ottoman Empire was too weak to defend Libya. Long has your nation been ruled by the foul Turks, and it appears the end is in sight. Do not be fooled by the recent Turkish "reforms;" they are merely a means to keep your nation oppressed by the Ottoman Empire. Italy is a rising power with a hunger for the Ottoman Empire's provinces. This provides us with a common enemy and a potential for a momentous alliance to greatly weaken the Turkish threat and gain territory for Italy and independence for Macedonia.

Cyrenica and Tripolitainia in North Africa are nominally Ottoman provinces where local imams have more power than the Turkish government. But if Italy strikes there, the Ottomans will have no choice but to throw their weak navy at the province to attempt to hold it. The Italian navy is much more powerful, and can easily defeat the Ottoman navy and wrest the province from the Turks. With the Ottoman navy sunk, it will be difficult for the Turks to send troops anywhere. That is where you Macedonians come in. After the Turkish fleet is sunk and the provinces are being taken, it would be the perfect time to rebel in full force to drive the Ottomans from your nation. Italian troops can then, with naval supremacy, come from their newly taken provinces and drive the Turks from Europe forever.

The end result is highly beneficial to both of our nations. The Turks will no longer have any sway in Europe and your nation will be freed from the Turkish threat. Meanwhile, the Italian empire will expand its borders. We hope your nation seriously considers this offer of alliance and military aid--you may not get such a sweet deal in the future.

Greetings and salutaions from the kingdom of Romania, we come to you with a proposal for the mutual benefit of our two nations.

The health of this region would depend on every nation in the region doing what ever is necessary to survive as well as help everyone. Therefore we would like to propose a treaty of mutual defense in which we vow to protect each other from any unwarranted acts of violence from an outside power.

We would like also to inform you that we would like to seek closer not only to your nation but also to other nations in the region including bulgaria, Serbia and Greece and will seek treaties of mutual defense with them aswell we hope that this will promote a sense of unity in the region. We hope that we have your support and urge you consider taking similar steps.

We hope for closer and prosprous relations between our nations

Due to the outbreak of hostillites between Russia and Austria-Hungary, I'm afraid that meetings will have to be postponed till more peaceful times.

December 11th, 1905,

Alexandre Veliki seeing the population rally behind the war with Austria-Hungary has called for conscription of 10,000 more troops to be formed into two Infantry regiments which would be sent to join the first Macedonian Expeditionary Corp, or M.E.C.

Also new reforms are being put into place to divide the country into counties so the people are better governed on the regional scale. Educational reforms include mandatory child education until graduation from high school in the cities and until graduation from elementry school in rural areas. This is hoped to increase child literacy and intelligence thus creating a higher skilled work force.

February 14th, 1906

Macedonian industries, under license have begun producing limited numbers a 7.62 mm Model 1895 Nagant Revolvers, and 7.62 mm Mosin-Nagant M1891 Rifles, along with ammunition. These are too outfit the newly conscripted 2nd Division which, has two of it's regiments in training now, and the other two are to be trained later, so it will be a half-strength division for half the year until the rest can be raised and trained.

Also four Batteries of 75mm field guns have arrived, from Russia by way of Turk ports. They will be shipped with the 2nd Division to join the M.E.C. This should help greatly in the fighting strength of Macedonian forces on the Serbian front.

March 3rd, 1906

The newly trained 5th and 6th regiments of the 2nd Infantry Division are being shipped to the Serbian front. Alexandre Veliki has called for another 10,000 troops to be called up and trained to create the 7th and 8th regiments and bring the 2nd Infantry Division up to full strength. The newly gained 75mm guns are to be shipped with the 7th and 8th regiments to the front. Commander Milos Petrovic will be in command of the 2nd Infantry Division.

May 29th 1906,

The 7th and 8th Infantry regiments finish training and prepare to be sent to the front. With them the 1st Artillery Brigade is being sent, with 24, 75mm field guns divided into 4 batteries. This will greatly increase the firepower of the Macedonian units at the front against infantry and small fortifications but will have little effect against heavier stone or concrete fortifications.

In other news the national flag has been decided upon, with the eight pointed star being choosen over other star flags. The red and gold standards are being sent to the front to accompany the troops and raise morale in battle. The flag is now flying over the capital in Skopje.

You have full use of our railroads and bases, though the limited facilities are just that, limited. We hope you can use them for your purpose though, and we hope success to your troops.

July 19th 1906
More troops have been called up, men between the age 19 and 30 will be drafted at the rate of 1,500 a month to compensate for loses at the front, also wounded soldiers will return to duty two weeks after they have recovered from their wounds.

Women are being given greater powers in government and the buisness place to make up for the drainage on the male population. Womens sufferage has been requested by several of the new female unions, and the government is considering this.

Also, the government is funding the contruction of three new factories to start producing more ammunition and weapons for the front, these will be completed by about August of 1907 and will start producing Russian Nagant Revolvers, Mosin-Nagant Rifles, and ammunition for those under license from the Russian government.

April 28th 1907

The newspapers all over the nation exclaim "WOMEN RIGHTS VICTORY!" as the government allows women's sufferage finally, almost a year after it was purposed. This is seen as a great victory for womens rights by most, but the government did it mostly to increase the citizens morale, and increase their chances for re-election in 1910.

In other news, the arms and munition factories being constructed near Skopje are to be completed in August, which will boost munitions and arms production.Also with the rate of recruitment outdoing the rate of casualties taken, the military has reduced the rate of concription to 1000.
