Edit: From now on, the first page will contain all the fun information both my allies, enemies and I despirately need at our fingertips. Original post is below that.
Foriegn Affairs 1932:
Alliance:
Great Britain (Treaty of London)
Zion (Tributary of Argentina)
Japan (Treaty of Buenos Aires)
South Africa (Treaty of Madagascar) OOC: I kinda made this one up... but I imagine we would be treaty bound at least to defend Madagascar in the event of an attack.
Friendly Relations:
Colombia (Sees eye to eye with Argentina in a great many things.)
Chile (Neighbor, not socialist, commonly agreed upon boarder; what more needs to be said?)
China (Lots of trade between Argentina and the largest market in the world. Their friendship with Japan is helping bring a new dialogue between the nations.)
Good Relations:
Italy (Lower tarrifs, large importation of luxury vehicles for wealthy citizens)
Brazil (Moving more to the center in politics. Argentina likes that.)
Russia (Post war, Argentina and "The Union" have found that they have alot of things in common. Unfortunatly, socialism isn't one of them.)
Neutral/No Relations:
Mexico (Relations have improved slightly with new administration in Mexico.)
Spain (Waiting to see how new government works)
USA (Renewal of the Pan American Treaty smacks of Colonialism. Strongarming Pan American countries to support them during the 2nd Great War definatly didn't help.)
Germany
Bolivia
Ecuador
Ottoman Empire

President Roca calls upon Chile for stabilization of border
President Julio Argentino Roca today asked publicly that the disagreement over the location of the Argentina/Chile border has gone on for far too long. "I'm asking that President Echaurren see reason, and end this pointless discussion. We have come up with a proposal that I'm sure will be in everyone's interest." Diplomatic Telegrams are expected to be sent to the Chilian capital later today.
Corruption Exposed
More reports have surfaced as to the nature of former President Celman's corruption. It is expected that nearly 50,000 pesos were mismanaged by his secretary of finance during his tenure. President Roca has promised to continue the investigation.
New Bishop Named
Bishop Emilio Jarez Corvalan has been appointed to the Diocese of San Martín as the new bishop. A native of our own Buenos Aires, the former Monsignior Corvalan is the youngest Bishop ever to serve in Argentina, a mere 39 years of age. Those who know the new Bishop say that he is an intellectual and very charismatic. His previous assignment was as Secretary of the Arch Diocese of Dublin.
Zepplins!
Having been amazed with the lighter than air flying machines during his tour of Europe, President Roca has proposed a government loan to build an airship fleet. Having been asked where the fleet would go, Roca replied "Due to our ongoing negotiations with Venezuela, I believe that having a fast, overland means of communicating with our friends to the north would be beneficial to both our countries." There is no word yet on whether other nations would be interested in zepplin travel in the region.

From: President Federico Errázuriz, Chile
To: President Julio Argentino Roca, Argentina
Subject: Chile-Argentina Border
After consultation with the Congress and my Foreign Minister we have decided to accept the proposed treaty defining the border regions in question. Our Foreign Ministry's legal department is drafting our response and a proposal for a bipartate border demarcation commission.
We propose a summit of our Foreign Ministers in LaPaz, Bolivia for this matter.
14th May 1900
Special Edition!
Echaurren agrees: Meeting to take place in LaPaz
President Roca today has announced that the long standing dispute over the precise dimensions of the Argentinian/Chilean border will soon be a thing of the past. The Argentinian and Chilean embassadors to Bolivia are expected to meet later this month to discuss the terms of the border treaty, as well as what President Roca described as "Problems that continue to plage the Latin American world."
When asked to elaborate on those problems, he described them as "the lack of industrialization, of technology, which will in both the short and long term inflate our currency, and destroy our prestige on the global stage." He would not however, go into any detail as to what steps should be taken to improve Argentina's standing.
Officers thankful for German training
Officers of the Argentinian Army have been recieving German military training of thier officers for the past few years. However, the training has caused some military officers to seem at odds with their NCOs. Says Lt. Kearns, a Welsh born imigrant and cavalry soldier "I wish my Sergeants could recieve the type of training I'm getting. I'm sure then they'd understand some of our orders more clearly."
Unfortunately a lack of spanish speaking German NCOs and and german speaking Argentinian NCOs is sighted as a hinderence in obtaining this training.
Maldives under occupation
While the administration continues to claim the Maldives as Argentinian territory, Brittish soldiers and marines continue to occupy the small chain of islands just miles off the Argentinian coast.
Antarctica
Plans are underway as the Argentinian Explorer Ernesto Monagas prepairs to embark on a journey to the South Pole. Preparations are expected to take a while, and permits from the government are not quickly forthcomming. He is expected to disembark in the early spring, no later than October.

Presumably you're talking about the Falklands in which case the Argentinian name you're looking for is the Malvinas.
Great informative posts by the way, really lets you see whats going on in Argentina and the rest of South America.
OOC: Ah, completely butchered the name, didn't I. Well, that makes most if not all of my recently sent telegrams quite wrong... I'll make sure to correct it in future posts. Thanks for the heads up!
Edit: I also have this nasty feeling there are a group of Islands actually called the Maldives...

Yes the Maldives are islands, it's a group of 1200 in the Indian Ocean just on the equator. You didn't get the name too far off anyway. Still a great thread!

Antartica Exploration Begins
Explorer Ernesto Monagas has landed on the outer tip of the Antartic, and has begun preparations to debark toward the South Pole. His crew, and those who will remain behind until he returns, number seventy men in total, with twenty being the number setting out toward the pole.
Monagas expressed that he expects the trip to go off without a hitch, but maintains the danger inherent in the exploration. "We're going somewhere, where no person has gone before. But if any nation of people can pull it off, it's the Argentinians!" Those who remain behind in the outpost, named San Mateo by the explorer, remained lighthearted. "This is a great place," explained Franco Mercado, head chef of the outpost. "There's so many new recepees to try out. Penguin, seel, fish. We're in a veritable corocopia of new and exciting food. I can't wait to return home, and introduce some of the meals I've already invented.
Border with Chile Established
A final aggreement has been reached between our nation and Chile, formally recognizing the border. Also included in the treaty was a call for economic cooperation, however no specifics were listed in the treaty. The Chilean embassador suggested a joint meeting with Venezuela and Brazil to discuss items of mutual interest, however no such meeting has been scheduled at this time.
War in China
A populist rebellion, nicknamed the Boxer Rebellion, has begun in China, and is swiftly picking up steam. President Roca declined to comment on whether he is considering Argentinian involvement, only stating that: "So far, not many nations have even suggested interveening and Argentina doesn't even have vested interests in China." Still, a top official has told reportes that the Military is already drawing up battle plans and running senarios for a possible intervention.
Immigration
With the Indian War over, a debate has surfaced as to what should be done reguarding the land taken from the natives. President Roca has not yet weighted in, but some politicians have suggested giving the land to immigrant farmers. "Right now, several states have experienced local problems." One local official had to say. "The Boers, the Irish, the European Jews, even the Chinese. If we could convince them to emegrate here, the population boom could only be beneficial to our country."

Treaty of London announced!
President Julio Argentino Roca today announced to a stunned croud that secret negotiations with Great Britain have resulted in a treaty, which looks to strengthen the relative power of Argentina in the world. The treaty, signed on Christmas Eve in London by the Prime Minister of Great Britain Lord Salisbury, and the Argentinian Embassador Roque Saenz Pena, establishes, amoung other things, a formal alliance between the two nations and provides Argentina with something it has long desired: a largescale naval production facility.
While some have been critical of the cost of the treaty, saying that giving up the Malvinas is a heafty price to pay, most Argentinians have been estatic about the recent events. "It shows that we are worthy of a great power's time. With Britain recognizing us, we should be respectable in international affairs from here on out. We've been let into a club, a club of European Powers, and we shouldn't soon forget that." One high level politician replied to our questions.
Antartica
Ernesto Monagas has yet to contact the outpost of San Mateo, with most estimates placing his company as arriving today. Still, the others at the outpost remain upbeat, explaining that simply because Monagas has not checked in, simply means things didn't go wrong early in the trip. Delays are expected, however if his return isn't seen by Feburary, a rescue party will be formed.
South America Economic Council
Plans for a South American Economic Council have been finalized, with the council taking place in March at Rawson, Argentina. Delegates from Chile, Venezuela, Colombia, and Brazil are expected to attend. No word yet on the topics to be discussed in these negotitations.

Nation Mourns Loss of Key Ally's Queen
President Roca has ordered that the Argentinian flag be lowered to half mast for the remainder of the week, in memory of Queen Victoria. Already, President Roca has spoke of adding "The Great" to her title, while describing the grand things she has done for her country and the world. "It is a tragedy, for her to die so young. 91! A woman like that should have lived seven times that amount, and still we would not have had her long enough in this world."
President Roca expressed his regret at being unable to attend in person the queen's funeral, which was attended by Argentinian Embassador Roque Saenz Pena.
South American Conference Set to Begin
http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=431388
The Conference, set to begin next month in Rawson, has been met with optimism by several different nations. High hopes are found aplenty in Argentina as well, as the people are anxious to find solidarity with others in the region.
Zepplin Construction Begins
Construction on the first of four Zepplins has been commissioned by private investor and plantation owner Pablo Julio Zapata. The airships, when completed, will be flown out of a field near Beunos Aires across the continent to Venezuela. Negotiations with the Venezuelan government still have not given an exact city to recieve the benefits of such travel.
School children across the country are set to compete over who can name the four airships. The winner of each will recieve a seat aboard the first flight of the airship, and their names credited on the cabin of the ship.
Missing Explorer Still Not Arrived
Ernesto Monagas, the explorer who set out in October in his quest to be the first man to reach the South Pole, still has not returned to the outpost of San Mateo. A search party has been formed, and is due to set out tomorrow.
Miguel Augusto Pueyrredon, another explorer, has begun preparations to follow Monagas, vowing that if the later has failed, it will be "I who suceedes!"

Search Party Finds 2 Survivors!
Harrowing Tale of Survival: Antarctic Quest Ends in Failure!
The search party, sent out in Februrary to discover the whereabouts of the famed explorer Ernesto Monagas, returned home without discovering his whereabouts, only the half-frozen, starving survivors of his expedition.
One of the survivors spoke after his harrowing ordeal. "The horses just couldn't keep up in the snow. Even the ones we had taken from good stock. They just started collapsing about three weeks into the expedition. By the time Monagas finally decided to turn around, we'd already gotten in too far. Our crew burried him after about 4 days when we turned back. We've been living on horsemeat alone for the last month, afriad to move because of the cold, and our weakness. Thank God they found us."
Japan to Invest in Argentinian Beef: What Does This Mean for Business?
Japanese businessmen, well aware of the need for agricultural imports to an industrial country, have begun buying up large quantities of beef, corn, and various other Argentinian agricultural products. Rumors are, the transactions are being carried out in Pounds, leading some to speculate that the fluctuating Peso is soon to be pledged to the Pound, and not the US Dollar.
Argentinian Troops Assigned to South Africa
Lt. Col. R. Sanfuentes, commander of the 4th Mendoza Cavalry Regement, and recently promoted, has been given command of the Argentinian Expeditionary Force, currently aiding the British in supressing the two rogue Boer States. Col. Sanfuentes has promised a quick end to the war, which "With Argentina's aid, will surely end soon."
Winners of the "Name the Airships" Contests Announced
The winning names are: Esperanza de la Argentina, Santa Maria, Presidente Sarmiento, and Estrella de Buenos Aires. The winning children will have a seat for themselves and their parents on the inagural flight of the Esperanza de la Argentina, expected to be completed in August.
31 Oct. 1901
Airship flight a success!
Due to lack of agreement with Venezuela, the Esperanza de la Argentina made it's maiden voyage from Buenos Aires to Mendoza. Negotiations are ongoing with other nations for rigid airship travel rights. The flight of the Esperanza marks the first comercial airship flight ever, and follows the Brazilian Alberto Santos-Dumont in the latest inovation on South American Soil.
OOC: I appologize for the "Zepplin" used in previous posts. It appears to be an anachronism.
Miguel Augusto Pueyrredon: Can he succede?
The explorer Pueyrredon has set out to Antartica with over a hundred men in hired help. Setting up an outpost farther into Antarctica, which the group have named Nuevo La Plata, Pueyrredon has set out for the Antartic with 40 of those men, with a combination of horses and Siberian Huskies.

Meeting with Russia, Austria-Hungary, Great Britain, and Argentina
President Roca announced that Argentina has been invited to a meeting, to discuss potential treaties with Russia and Austria-Hungary. Apparently, the Argentine involvement in the Boer War has given Argentina a huge say in international affairs.
Immigration Increases
With the EU closing it's borders to Asian immigrants, except for strict quotas, Argentina has seen a large spike in Chinese, and especially Japanese immigration. A public official in the Roca administration has explained that the surge of new immigrants also has to do with the recent decision to offer 20 km^2 of former Indian land to immigrants, provided they work on it for ten years, as well as the initiative taken to provide subsidized rent housing in Beunos Aires, Rawson, Viedma, and La Plata for industry workers of foriegn decent.
Also, immigrants from Lithuania have increased, though many still head for the EU.
Calling All English Teachers
The Argentine govenment have been trying to attract English instructors for it's Army, after it became apparent during the Boer War that most of the time, average soldiers were unable to communicate with one another. With a common language between the two key allies, Army officials have stated, coordination can only improve. Brig. Ramon Sanfuentes has been especially vocal on this, explaining how he was forced to speak broken German to the British commander, just to be understood.

From: William Brodrick, British Secretary of State for War
We are pleased to announce that the honours for service in the South African Boer War have been awarded today. There have been many recipients of awards, mostly for action at Vereeniging in the later stages of the war. Indeed many awards would have been bestowed upon Argentinian servicemen but our system only recognises Commonwealth citizens. However there is one exception in that KBEs can be awarded to foreigners.
It is with great honour that I can announce the appointment of Colonel Sanfuentes as an Honourary Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, as a foreign citizen he is unable to call himself Sir, but may place the letters KBE as a postnominal behind his name.
The award will be made by the King himself at Buckingham Palace and it is hoped that the Colonel will be able to attend this event on 17th November of this year.

President Manuel A. Quintana's death shocks Argentina
The recent death of President Quintana has come as rude awakening to Argentina, which has withdrawn from the public eye since the retirement of the widely popular President Roca. Former Vice President Roque Sáenz Peña succeded him earlier today.
Pena has earned the wrath of Quintana in recent weeks, openly criticing the isolationist stance, and calling for renewal of the Treaty of London, which Quintana allowed to expire in 1906. Many in the government expect a great change from recent stances.
New Policy Changes Cause Consternation
The sudden re-opening of Argentina to the outside world is expected by many to bring conflict. "I can't believe we're actually willing to negotiate with European states once more." A staunch Quintanian was quoted as saying. "They're willing to kill one another in great numbers, and for what? Just some small countries in the middle of nowhere. At least Great Britain was smarter than to involve themselves.
However, the Penian side has countered, citing Venezuela as a chief example of what happens when a nation isolates itself from the rest of the world. "We can't rely on anyone but ourselves at the moment. We won't survive if this continues."

Re: Argentine Foreign Policy: Non-Latin American Involvement in South American Affairs
It is of President Peña's oppinion that no outside entity should exert themselves upon a Soverign Nation within South America. Were it not for the Pan-American treaty, Argentina go so far as to consider unilateral actions in the event of outside aggression. As it is, Argentina will in the comming weeks be examining the Pan-American Treaty in the interest of possibly implimenting it either in total or modified.

OOC: Yeah thats when I meant for you to get it. And also Brazil isn't quite Red, just Socialist. But still we would choose to support German Rebels, if not by action then by political intent. We would not I think countenance sending military assistance to a foreign country but we would be dissaproving of military action against them.
Dear Roque Sáenz Peña,
I request assistance from your nation, we ask that the new Zion borders be extended to allow for more Zionists, currently we are near upon breaking point with shanty towns being constructed by overly enthusiastic Zionist's, we currently have 1,000,000 people on the waiting list to enter a nation that is smaller than all of them put together, we will be willing to purchase off chunks of land around this area if that is more acceptable but please bear in mind the cramped conditions of these people.

OOC: I don't think you quite understood the situation. Please read the clarifying post I made in your thread.
Colombia wonders why Argentina views them with contemptuous eyes, when both Argentina and Colombia have nothing but South America's safety in mind.
However, one thing that both Colombia and Argentina see eye to eye on, is in regards to Communism, and its imposing threat. Therefore, Colombia would like to meet with Argentina in perhaps... Chile. It would also be wise to include Chile in such discussions; However, we would prefer if we excluded both Venezuela and Brazil. I have lost track of what the Argentine Military looks like. Historically though, the Argentinians have bought dreadnoughts from the British at this point. If you haven't, then you could easily man 2 dreadnoughts, 6 cruisers, and a couple of destroyer squadrons because you did historically. Of course so can the Brazilians, because they did historically.
The US is willing to build dreadnoughts for Argentina, and I suspect so are the British. Although the Satsuma class are semi dreadnoughts (relatively slow and they have a mixed 12/10 inch armament)

OOC: For the record:
Argentina has not signed ANY alliances with South American Nations, with the exception of Zion. Argentina has NOT declaired Communism to be a threat to themselves, publicly at least. And Argentina's only threatening overt actions taken towards Brazil are A) Building up their military in response to Brazil's largescale buildup. B) Meeting secretly (admitedly such a meeting could be found out by a little effort on the part of Brazilian spies in Chile) with long time antagonist Colombia to discuss Communism/Socialism.

Our "kindly neibors to the North-East," as President Roca once said, are the real threat here, and everyone is ignoring this simple fact. We have been in serious danger, here at home, ever since these seemingly enlightened people threw caution to the wind, and embraced a radical new brand of ideology. I won't say that they don't try to play it off as something "innocent", but it's clear that the Catholic doctorine decries the nature of socialism. Besides, it's just one step removed from Communism, which has caused treason in our midst.
Editorial: Brazil, Misguided But Not a Threat
Brazil has not once threatened the Argentine way of life, and now that assassinations have become the first talked about item in the news, everyone is turning to look at the country who shares just a tiny boarder with our own. But Brazil is not a threat, it's politics, while uncooth, are still part of our own system. There was no revolution in Brazil, as the assassin attmepted to bring about in Argentina. Our real threat seems to be the blatently anti-establishment rhetoric comming out of Germany and Russia.

Election Time is Comming!
The top contenders this year for the Presidency this year are:
Vice President José Calderón - National Republican Party: Incumbant Party, who expects to win hands down. Vows to continue the policies and practices of current President Ramon Sanfuentes. Argues that CSP will raise taxes.
Augusto Estéban Mellón - Christian Socialist Party: New party, gaining a large supply of the vote (even without the historical "Election Reform" of 1910. More conservative than the historical Left.) Vows are to reduce restricted measures on citizens speach, and increase social welfare spending.

José Calderón Accepts Presidency of the Republic!
Condemns US Aggression in Venezuela
José Calderón (NRP) has been elected in a landslide over his chief opponent Augusto Estéban Mellón; 60-24%. In his first speach in office, he loudly condemned the US lead attack on Venezuela, a nation who's peaceful existance was the topic of much negotiation for the last few months of '21. "[The leaders of the US] have gone too far this time. Germany had backed off, Venezuela was secure, and the US violated it's own treaty of non-involvement in the affairs of soverign states to occupy this innocent nation." Calderón was quoted at his innaguration address. "If the US thinks that they can do this to Venezuela, who knows what they will do to any other nation in South America that defies them next? Stopping Communism is good and right, but not at the expense of our soverignty!" His speach was treated to thunderous applause.
Argentina Pulls out of London Negotiations
Miguel Garuda Mellón, the Embassador to London, reported to The Tribune that he will no longer be representing Argentina in negotiations at London. "We can no longer support the actions of the US. Being their allies, should their aggression make them into a target of reprisals is too much to ask of Argentina. We remain committed, however, to the treaties we have made with Japan and Great Britain."

But what about their sovereignty? Washington obviously doesn't give a damn, but Moscow does.
IC: Message from Moscow's Ambassador in Buenos Aires (since we do, rather surprisingly, have normal diplomatic relations)
The Union feels that the Argentinean government's concerns about Yanqui aggression are clearly not misplaced. While it is equally obvious that the administration of Buenos Aires is implacably opposed to secularism and socialism, nevertheless Moscow does not in turn regard Argentina as an enemy, has never sought any agitation or interference in Argentinean affairs (though we do not speak for Germany), and indeed applauds the actions of the President in standing up to Norteamericano imperialism.
If there is any way the Union can assist in strengthening the cause of Argentinean independence, our door is open.

OOC:
Oh, a lot of people are all for smashing socialism. Hence the recent election, where the "Right" canidate wins a rediculous 60% of the popular vote. What they and almost every patriotic Argentinian are not for is their neighbor to the North smashing down a nearly defenseless nation in Latin America, especially when they have a historic distrust of US intervention. Don't get me wrong, I'm not all of a sudden going to be backing Russia and Germany, or even Brazil. But my nation's people, for the most part, are paranoid after the ease with which the US ok'd an attack on a Latin American population, as opposed to Brazilian Socialism, which is popularly elected.

well from the US standpoint, as long as you don't form a military alliance with Russia or Germany the US doesn't really care what kind of government you have.

Argentina would love to assist Haiti in any way it is able. Lumber and various agricultural products are our specialty, but as for trained teachers, engineers and such, we suggest sending your most talented young men to study at the various Universities in Buenos Aires, La Plata, and other fine Argentine schools. We say without some small pride that our university system is one of the most competative in the Spanish speaking world. The Bolivian Government wishes to pass 45,000 troops through your land so they can more easily travel to Brazil to aid the Brazilian government.
At this time Argentina is neutral on the Brazilian Civil war, aside for their Tributary, Zion, none are allowed through Argentine territory into Brazil. Boating is suggested as a means to transfer and supply soldiers.
The recent loss of international face has forced President Marcelo Urrutia to call for early elections. Though not explicitly covered by the consitution, a popular ammendment was run through allowing for a call to move up the date of voting should 3/4ths of the legislature deem it necessary. With a large number of the Christian Democratic Party members feeling a presidential election necessary, and most of the incumbant National Republican Party feeling the need to prove their own popularity remains strong, the order for a new election proceeds quickly.
The election frontrunners are as follows:
National Republican Party: President Marcelo Urrutia - In spite of the loss of face, almost dragging their nation into a serious war, and the recent split amoung leaders in the direction the country is headed, the NRP remains a viable force. Expected to win with over 30% of the votes.
Christian Democratic Party: Augusto Estéban Mellón - Running as almost an "I told you so" candiate and taking the un-popular possition that Brazil and France were in the right, the former frontrunner of the previous election returns in an attempt to gain more power for this left of center (as far as Argentine politics is concerned) party. Expected to bottom out at 12% of the votes.
Argentine Catholic Party (Formerly part of the NRP): Arch Bishop Emilio Jarez Corvalan - Fifty-five years old, and head of the Catholic Church in Argentina, Corvalan has been speaking adamantly against communism for years with "Godless descent into barbarism" being the most direct translation of his catch phrase. Corvalan has resigned his priesthood, telling the Pontif personally that God was calling him to serve his nation on it's path to Glory. The Pope very reluctantly agreed to tend his resignation. Has a strong following amoung the poor whom he has promissed land reform, and the right to vote. Expected to hold his own with over 25% of the votes.
Colombia secretly backs Arch Bishop Emilio Jarez Corvalan, and will wire him funds for his campaign.

Britain also supports the good Archbishop. In the interests of world opinion it will not interfere directly, Mr. Churchill does however send some funds to Colombia in the form of a "Free Trade Package" to supplement their funds, which may be a little short now for whatever reason.
With the large amount of "private donations" recieved in his coffers, Archbishop Corvalan has taken a small lead in the polls.

National Republican Party: President Marcelo Urrutia - His party was the one in power when Zion was made a nation, under Argentina. Believes that Zionist socialism/communism is a worrying trend, but ultimately the choice of the Zion people... so long as socialism doesn't spread to Argentina.
Christian Democratic Party: Augusto Estéban Mellón - His party is a mixed bag, believes that Zion is a part of the Argentine soverignty, but is unwilling to vocalize any policy changes for fear of losing votes. Urrutia is slamming him in debates on his appearance of non-support of Zion.
Argentine Catholic Party: Arch Bishop Emilio Jarez Corvalan - (Edit: After review, my math was awful, he's 63 years old) Not much has been said so far about the Jewish question by Corvalan. Rumors say that he might be willing to grant more land to Zion if a less socialist leadership was in place.

Or do we stand up together as one to drive them back and send their heathen souls to hell? Well I for one stand shoulder to shoulder with my British allies, and I say all of Argentina shall do the same!
With the legislature's permission, Argentina has declaired war on the following countries: Russia, Germany and France. May the war be swift and end quickly, with God's side prevailing. God Bless Great Britian, God Bless Argentina!"

But seeing as how the Russians are serious about this, and seeing no reason why the war cannot be started off on a civil footing, anyone detained will be rushed out of Argentina, to Brazil where they can find their way back home, as quickly as possible. The Argentine government has promised to purchase their boat ticket for them, should they be indigent. Corps de Christo/Judeo Training in Terra Del Fuego
A joint Argentine/Zionist Infantry Corps is training its new members in the south of Terra Del Fuego. With II Corps being converted to Mechanized Infantry, and the building of new light surface ships to assist Japan in convoy duty, the organization of the new unit (officially termed the I Corps of New Zion) is proceeding as rapidly as possible. It is expected to be combat ready by July 1926.
Occupation of Madagascar Continues
Some elements of I Corps have been tasked with holding the Island of Madagascar, a former French colony. The vast remainder of the expeditionary force are expected to launch additional opperations with South African and Ecuadoran forces later this year.
Italian Forces Bravely Defend Two Fronts
Italian soldiers valiently defended the Alps from their Barbarian Invaders. In the West, Italian forces scored huge victories, gutting the French Army, and forceing it to turn to it's Spanish Ally for Assistance. In the East, Italians bled the Russian, Yugoslav, and German forces dry, as they forced their foes to pay a heavy price for every inch of ground gained.

The US Embassy in Argentina sends this home, and it is picked up and run by most major US newspapers and rapidly makes its way to Italy. A National Guard regiment deployed in Italy from Cincinati, Ohio uses a variation of the Roman Soldier as an unofficial unit patch.

July 1926
During the initial training for the I Corps of New Zion, a lack of food supplies caused by train delays forced the initial elements of the corps to fend for themselfs for food. Within days, the regemental chef of one of the Zion regements had developed a reputation for his unique cullonary skills reguarding llamas and mules. With it a now running joke within the entire Corps that: "it can't be worse than mule" the divisions already training developed a correlary: "Nothing is worse than us mules!" It was quickly becoming a rallying cry.
The New Zion Executive Officer of the Corps, quietly decided to make a unit patch for the new unit, featuring a large mule, a Cross at the uppper left and a Star of David in the upper right, with the words "Ex duobus, unum" below, with a similar phrase in Hebrew (OOC: Which I don't know, so I can't write.)
Thus the New Zion Mule Corps was born.

Invasion of Spain!
Portugual, setting itself on the side of justice and right, has allowed LTA troops into it's nation as part of a grand assault on Spanish held territory. The Spaniards, who through poor planning had next to nothing foward against the invasion were forced to retreat in terror.
Japanese Liberate Siberia!
Japanese Troops landed at Goven, destroying the garrison sorounding the town and forcing the Russian troops in Vladivostok to withdrawl. The Japanese have so far achieved complete domination in the Pacific Theater.
Italian Army Continues in it's Defense!
The Italian Army remains indominable in it's defense of Italy, forcing the barbarian invaders to suffer heavy losses for every inch of ground gained.
Political Cartoon
Dipicts a large bear with arms labled Siberia and Afghanistan, with a brahman cow labled India laying on the ground with a gashmark in its side. In front of the bear is a Samuri labled Japan with his sword stuck in the arm labled Siberia. The Samuri is saying "One more blow should do the trick!" The caption reads "Let's see how well this beast fights with just one hand!"
Propaganda Poster
Shows a Argentine Woman dressed in trousers and a shirt, wielding a plate onto a Argentine Destroyer. Over her is the speach bubble "¡Podemos hacerlo!". The caption reads "Her brothers fight for freedom, and she supports them at home. Join a work crew today, to serve Argentina!"
President Corvalan: "So, Dr. Ortega's latest Telegram has arrived, and it seems that the US has rejected all possible peace proposals, and the Pact has stormed out in a huff."
General Mencia: "That's it then. We're committed thanks to some damn Yankees and their need to kill all who disagree with them."
Admiral Lorca: "I suppose we're in it for the long haul then, how many more Divisions could we feasably draft? 2, 3 more? Will that be enough to turn the tide in India?"
General Mencia: "I've been looking hard at our map of India. We're done if the Russians keep pressing. We don't want our troops there, you know as well as I do Admiral, that's the real reason we were so interested in peace. That's our entire army we've got there, and it'll be wiped out within months of landing."
President Corvalan: "Well then, I see only one answer to this: We are not beholden to even be in India by any treaty save the LTA. Therefor, we pull out of the LTA immediately, we move our troops back to Madagascar, and wait. In accordance with the Treaty of London, we send the British some supplies for thier Army, and cross our fingers that that helps."

Presidente Corvalan,
The Union salutes Argentina, who sought peace honestly, with integrity and fairness. Allow me to repeat to you the words of our negotiator at The Hague, that it gladdens us to see civilized men among our adversaries. It makes us believe that, perhaps, there is chance for coexistence.
One day, we hope, we may meet in a better world, free of this terrible and barbaric war.
With honor and with hope,
Premier Kuusinen, USDR
President Corvalan,
We applaud you for your earnest desire for peace. It is obvious that the cooler heads have not prevailed. Your goodwill will not be forgotten by the French people. If ever you need our assitance in the future, do not hesitate to ask. One day we may meet in happier times.
Yours,
Acting Prime Minister Yvon Delbos

The Worker's Republic has never had troubled relations with Argentina, and the workers clearly see why. Argentina is a nation of gentlemen who obviously are of education and tact. My representative, General Reichmann has told me of Dr. Ortega's wisdom and love for peace.

My good friend Presidente Corvalan,
It is with great sadness that I see you are leaving this crusade for freedom. The Argentinians were brave fighting men and were at the fore of many victories in this war. I understand the reasons for your withdrawal from this conflict and I will not ask you to change your mind. I will just say that many British citizens were glad of the Argentinian assistance and many of our soldiers undoubtedly owe their lives to Argentinian intervention. I wish your country much prosperity for the future and to let you know that our alliance will remain as strong as ever.
Yours,
Prime Minister Winston Churchill,
United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.

Thanks, I must have missed that post, sorry. Thanks for the points, ally! I'm sure Britain would like to invest in Argentina after the war, say improve welfare, health, industry or whatever in compensation.
OOC: If you're still interested in supporting Britain, in India, the New Zion Mule Corps being currently trained now can be refitted with Argentine vollenteers and transfered there.
1927
With the war over, an ambitious plan to overhaul the armed forces is undertaken. Troops are dropped down to thier original levels (roughly a Corps and a half), the old Satsuma-Class Battleships, the mainstays of the Argentine Fleet, are mothballed, turned into a training ship, and left in Madagascar as part of the occupation force.
In reguards to Argentine controlled Madagascar, the Madagascaresse (sp?) people are slowly introduced into the Argentine society. Madagascar is divided into three provinces, with equal representation in the Argentine Legislative Branch. Plans are underway for those Madagascarans (sp?) who pledge a loyalty oath to Argentina to be given citizenship starting in 1929 (conviently after the next election).
In addition, with the money freed up from the war and costly battleship upkeep, Corvalan enacts what his campaign platform promissed, a complete overhaul of Argentina's school system. With mandatory education for all children ages 5-16, and free secondary education for the top 5% of the class, Argentina began producing a large number of an educated elite.
1928
An election year. A motion was introduced early in the year to remove the constitutional limitations on how long a person could be elected President. While it failed narrowly, a compromise proposal granting the President two six year terms was approved.
The election between Corvalan (Christian Democrats) and his principal opponent, Army Chief of Staff, General Gabriel Mencia (National Republican) ended with Corvalan losing by a small margin. Importantly, the Socialist Party failed to even field a canidate. Corvalan's failure is attributed to his reformation of the constitution, and his failure to address land reform, one of his key campaign promisses.
1929
President Mencia is swept into power promissing that the reforms undertaken and promissed under Corvalan would be continued and undertaken under himself, respectively.
He irons out a land reform platform, where land unused for over 5 years would be given to the poor peasents as a means to suppliment their income. He finalizes a compromise with the congress that gives all citizens the right to vote, provided they are functionally literate, in exchange for an National Airline. He even finalizes a deal with Japan to produce Argentina's first fleet carrier.
Also, the people of Madagascar are given the right to vote, and promptly appoint socialist delegates to congress.
1930
Reforms begin to take effect, as the first congressional elections arrive in which all literate (or land owning) citizens are given the right to vote. The result is a slight upswing in the number of socialist members, but the National Republicans gain and keep control of the Congress.
1931
Land reform has worked in the opposite direction, as land owning farming companies have paid workers far less than they deserve for land that they recieved, creating only a few large farming corporations. In response a socialist delegate suggests a bill making it illegal to own a corporation in Argentina without 50% of it being owned by an Argentinian or Argentinians. 30 ammendments later, it stands at 25%, with provisions allowing British, South African, and Japanese companies to do so with a mere 10% and Zion to be exempt from the requirements.
Also, a treaty is reached with Japan giving them rights of basing for naval ships in Argentine ports.

The Mexican Government would like to set up a treaty between Argentina and Mexico. We hope to improve our foreign relations with you.
Argentina would be more than happy to establish better relations with their Latin neighbors to the north... The question is what sort of treaty is even needed?
Argentina suggests establishing a joint military assistance treaty. Argentina will send it's officers and NCOs to train your military and every year sends one division to Mexico for joint military manuvers.
In exchange, Mexico provides Argentina with a modest monetary reimbursment (too small to be even 1 build point) covering the cost of transport and training.
Perhapse further treaties can be made in the future for Argentina to provide your country with contemporary light naval ships.

Argentina is a NPC country at the moment, however, over the the course of this game it has had extremely good relations with Japan. However, it also had extremely good relations with France at the time it changed government (became an NPC nation). Therefore, Japan gets a polite message back saying that the Argentine government is studying the matter.
