The scene was horrific. Dead bodies littered the corriders of the station. Sick bodies lying next to the dead ones. This was the plague and it is spreading across the vacuum of space. The human body has no immunity to this pathogen. Leading scientists all over the galaxy struggle to comprehend it. The disease rips through DNA causng the person a very painful and inevitable death. The pathogen is unstoppable it is as tiny as an atom and clings like a flea on molecules. The plague infiltrates the body first appearing to be a simple flu. It then spreads to other bodies and from those bodies to more until the whole population is unknowingly infected. Then it simultaneousy destroys the DNA of the cells, causing insanity, infertility, hemophilia, alzhiemers, sickle cell, or any number of genetic deficiances. How can it be stopped?

I fail to see what the point of quarantining vessels is when it is for the sake of a virus which can travel through the vacuum of space at unspecified speeds.

I also doubt the authenticity of this plague, and would require some form of proof before taking it seriously. Not that people with such a 'unique' condition as our own could be affected by such a thing.

OOC: no, I think the crystaline sliver protects against that, but I'm not sure... I'll have to check on that.

Fun, mostly. And you seem to be unaware of the cleansing methods appropriate for screening for these particles: antimatter.

New Grunz Disease Research and Control Facility

The intern turned back into the hall and instructed the moving crew to bring it in. They rolled in a large chrome sphere with several power cables running from it. As it drew closer the medallion on the interns neck lifted from his chest towards the sphere due to the strong magnetic forces keeping the pathogen from killing them all.

"Good, set it down over there" the professor said.

The movers set it down and quickly walked out of the room.

"Put it under the electron microscope."
"Yes sir"

The intern slid the large microscope rove to the sphere and inserted a tube into an access panel of the sphere

"Its ready proffesor"
"Bring up the screen"

A hologram was projected onto the table. And what they saw amazed them
