Planet For Sale

Vespeterium Minor
26-06-2005, 21:53
The Family Vespeterium is offering a bidding contest for a planet recently aquired by the traders of the company. The planet has been cleansed of all lifeforms and is in good condition for anything from military production, correctional facilities or just for a vacation area for the monsterously rich. The family won't accept anything less than 500 million dollars. The said planet is installed with oxygen and completley free of any toxic gasses, or germs of any nature (when we say cleansed of all lifeforms we mean it!) It has been completley deforrested, all caverns filled up and a gravitational field installed. Hurry, if an offer isn't agreed, the family will detonate the planet and sell off the waste to junk dealers.
Paulo Von Gerrit Vespeterium III, Chairman of the Family Business of Vespeterium Minor.

The Galactic Empire of Huntaer is interested in such a planet. We can easily offer 4 trillion dollars and even more with our amount of earnings through arms deals. We will offer any sum of money to make sure we get the planet. We plan to use it as one of our cloning forge worlds.

Darth Trilkan, Emperor of Huntaer.
Halberdgardia
26-06-2005, 22:02
The Democratic Republic of Halberdgardia would be most pleased to purchase this planet, and is willing to pay extra to have the planet terraformed to have a planet-wide temperate/topical climate. We would seek to have two main landmasses on the planet, where the bulk of the planet's population would live, followed up by thousands of islands of varying sizes spread across a vast ocean. We would also appreciate it if the terraforming could include some basic fauna and faura; we can provide the bulk of the wildlife ourselves, however. We are willing to pay whatever sum you wish to charge for this.

EDIT: OOC: @Blu-Tac, 10 trillion?! I seriously doubt you have that much, that is, unless you want to clean out your nation's economy.

OOC: Uhh...unless you want essentially every part of your nation to collapse due to lack of funds, you don't spend nearly your entire national budget on something other than your nation. $1 trillion is not nearly enough to keep a country running. Especially a Mar 2005 nation.

OOC: Err...OK...

And you're probably going to bankrupt your nation trying to "make the planet earn money," as it's currently barren. To develop it to the point where you'd start getting any money back would require more funds than you would have. It's a losing proposition.

OOC: Are you sure you don't want to just let me have it? I'm looking for my first new planet to colonize; I'm barely FT with some limited FTL capability, and you could probably just colonize a thousand other planets at will. C'mon, let the FT-newb have the planet. ;)

i could make it an intergalaxy hub, where people would flock and trade, it'd build itself, with the help of another few billion that is

OOC: Hey hey hey! I'M more of a newb at FT here. I barely have adequate space transports, much less warships and the like...

However...

IC: The nation of Joseph Seal extends an offer to the nation of Halberdgardia. That both nations pool their money together and try to buy the planet together. In return, Joseph Seal would gladly share the planet with Halberdgardia, and extend trade relations and military assistance.

EDIT: OOC: @Blu-Tac, nevertheless, it'd take too long to rebuild your economy, and besides, you wouldn't have enough money left over to build shtuff on the planet, much less colonize it.

OOC: I don't even technically have warships. I've got a single armed-transport-like design that one of my allies came up with and then provided the designs to me. I'm going to say we have three of them at the most. We're really more PMT than FT, as most of our other tech is essentially still MT.

IC:

Your proposal is intriguing, and we will consider it. We are strongly inclined to accept it, but there are issues we must first address before giving you our formal acceptance.

OOC2: Basically, the deal is this: I was looking for a new planet for my country to act as our new interstellar capitol, before we begin true spaceflight and exploration and such. And, well, obviously, your capitol is not something you share with someone else. Don't get me wrong, I'd be happy to share this planet with you. But I may have to go out and "find" another one, then terraform it to the above-described climate.

OOC: Basically, I'm like you. I have maybe 2 unarmed transports(a bit like advanced space shuttles), no warships, and no other FT shtuff.

As for your issues...

Good points, but you should also look at the benefits. You'll have a partner, an ally, someone who will help you gladly when you're in need. Not to mention this is a planet, not just a country. It may be a little too big for one nation, so why not two?

Yeah, I want this planet as much as you do. This'll be my first step into FT. :D

IC:

After some thought, we have decided to accept your proposal. We can work out the specific terms of the division at a later time. On another note, you have been added to our list of "Friendly Nations" (OOC: see my factbook), and will likely be upgraded to "Ally" status should this effort succeed.

-Joseph Seal

EDIT: OOC: @Tanthan, ok, I'm sorry, THAT'S over the top. You can't possibly have that much money and still have enough left over to keep your nation together. Unless of course you're running a successful business, which I doubt you are.

In support of the joint Halberdgardian-Joseph Seal bid for the planet, we would like to add on to the Joseph Seal proposal a sum of $6 trillion in surplus funds (OOC: yes, they really do exist; unlike some other maniacs, I don't always spend my entire defense budget for every year), bringing our joint offer to $10 trillion. In addition, we would be willing to award Vespeterium Minor a lucrative terraforming contract to assist in making the planet more habitable for the Halberdgardian and Joseph Seal colonists.

Of course. The Family Vespeterium is one of the biggest Enterprises in the Universe. We sell everything from pencils to planets. We have seven planets currently under our control. However, we are in the process of exterminating the primative speices of these planets and installing oxygen on three and gravity on another two. We are also leveling the landscape. Do you wish to buy one then. We have various sizes and it depends if you want very big or small. Let us know and the Family will be happy to sell to you.

We want a very large planet for our cloning facilities. What we intend to do is turn the entire world into just one gigantic cloning facility. We have already done this with several other planets within our system.

Again, we can pay ALMOST any price you want (up to 950 trillion, through arms deals).
Vespeterium Minor
27-06-2005, 10:40
Well, the largest planet, Vespeterium 8, is valued at around $230 trillion dollars. The high price is due to the long and gruelling process of eliminating the vicious Kerrmin tribes on the planet, which we are having to do by hand. However, we will be willing to lower the price to just $200 trillion if you would be prepared to grant the Family Vespeterium 7% of the clone output on the planet. We would not sell the clones, but use them for slavery in our business corp. You have our word. The Family eagerly awaits your reply and hopes that we can come to an arranged business deal.

A message suddenly appears without warning within the home of Paulo Von Gerrit Vespeterium III, left clearly in plain view, the letter written in crimson blood, had not even fully dried yet, the message was written mere minutes ago from the way it was done.

"I will assassinate you for tainting the honor of the Great General Tso'Xja!"

At the end of the message, the blood collected as if the underline 'Great General Tso'Xja', a sinister use of large letters to make a dreadfully bold line when it pooled to the bottom of the paper.

'I think its time to move again' he said to his human slave, known only as number 1. 'To the Centre of our Fleet'.
