Introduction of an Empire(FT, Open)
Coordinates 19902-20-79-90, Milky Way Galaxy
Binary System, 4 Planets
Status: Uninhabited, 1 Planet Available for Terraform
A red giant burned malevolently at the heart of the system, orbited by a hyperactive white dwarf who managed an amazing 12 revolutions of its brother every 24 hours. Time was measured, as all Scellian time was, by the revolution of the Mother Planet whose sedate turning was farther away from the unnamed system then is imaginable. Though many asteroids were scattered haphazardly about the ancient binary four planets still danced their way through the heavens, slowly revolving about the central stars. Of these four planets one was a massive gas giant, two were blasted rocks so volcanically active that their surfaces were 70% molten rock. The last planet was tranquil compared to its cousins orbiting the stars, a relatively thin atmosphere and little water it would never evolve life, however with a little help life could be persuaded to grow.
Near the third planet, one of the blasted heaths, there was a brief EM and gravitonic spike, barely noticeable against the background radiation and gravitation of the binary system, and for weeks space stood silent. Then, in the exact same spot as before, came a lance of gravity stronger then all but the most massive black holes. The radiation emitted from the seemingly empty piece of space was enough to make the wispy atmosphere of the third planet become an incandescent sphere. The layers that composed the basis of reality peeled back as the very fabric of space itself was torn asunder, the unfortunate planet close enough to the tidal bore of cosmic energies was ripped to shreds leaving only a haze of micrometeorites to mark its passing.
It was lucky for the system that this process did not last for more then 2.785 femtoseconds, or the makeup of the system would have been altered past the point natural recovery. In the place of the third planet now sat a purple hued gray funnel, a vortex to another dimension whose very existence announced the arrival of a new species. The vortex itself was 1000 km across, the whorls and distortions along it edges were anywhere from 10 to 100 km in size.
From this vortex emerged a 3 km long ship, dark as a black hole it drifted motionless. The ship was a elongated teardrop sporting no visible protrusions nor bays it neither moved nor gave any indication that it could. However it soon showed that it could do more then sit silently, for a bay flicked open and the teardrop disgorged a swarm of 20 spherical black probes 3m in diameter. These flew for twenty seconds before disappearing from the known universe, leaving only a rippling effect on both sensors and visuals, where reality itself distorted.
The twenty probes had scattered to explore the nearest systems. To map out what, and who, was in the surrounding systems and to make contact with any intelligent species. While they didn’t travel through hyperspace the small craft left a distinct wake across the space-time continuum as they moved to the nearest systems. It was estimated that they wold arrive within the hour to their destinations.
OOC: I always want to RP FT, but I never got around to it. Feel free to either send someone to investigate the readings the dimensional wormhole produced or have a probe arrive at one of your systems. I can explain how my tech works OOC, but you will have to find out for yourselves how it works IC.
OOC: I'd love to jump in, but there's really no reason that any of my ships would be in range of the system, and if they were the chances of their detecting the distortion and actually diverting to investigate are next to zero. Xanthalians aren't in the exploration business. They're big on commerce, and there's no commerce to be done in an uninhabited system.
"Bzzt click, bzzt click!" the DSRBOT, (Deep Space Recon Bot) launched from the planet Kaduna itself, had stumbled upon somthing, what it was it wasn't quite sure, and so it began to scan it "bzzt click, bzzt click, bzzt click whiir kudunk!" the item was 3 meters across and appered to be a probe, this information was transmitted back to the planet Kaduna, which at this time happened to be 20km away and fully aware of the probe, the scientist switched off the DSRBOT notification alarm which was warning the team of a probe that they already knew existed, they had dispatched a science vessel to investigate the probe.
The small black sphere regarded the DSRBOT for a period of 3.539 microseconds as it entered extreme scanning range, the point at which the differential between regular spacetime and spacetime occupied by an object in noticable. Once it had determined that the probe was neither a threat nor manned it commenced passive observation. Having taken no steps to cloaks itself the probe felt no need to hide itself nor its activities.
Once the probe began transmitting the probe began to decipher the raw data stream, trying to estblish either a spoken or computerized language from the DSRBOTS transmissions. It estimated that the commincation method used by the DSRBOT was 67% translated when tranmissions stopped. Once transmissions ended the DSRBOT was subject to active scanning by the probe, first a rapidly pulsating spacetime warp was created by the engines of the probe. Matter would create a shadow in spacetime that was easily differentiated from empty space, it would provide a detailed blueprint of all but the shielded or chaotic matter. Next the probe inundated the DSRBOT with light beginning in the radar ranges, moving up through the visible light spectrum and finally ending above Gamma radiation. As a final act the probe used an internal gravitic manipulator to remove a cubic micrometer from the outer hull of the DSRBOT. This information was stored for later us, untransmitted but ready for quick release pending destruction of the probe.
as the science ship Kordem approached a transmission was sent to the little DSRBOT, it was told to go off and continue its mission of charting areas of space, the small BOT sped off as the Kordem began its own more detailed scans of the probe, 2 ROBOTS (Remote Observation Bots) were launched and began to move hyperactivly around the probe taking constant scans and pictures whilst the science ship began to search for any evidence of where the probe may have come from.

*Thud!*
~Was the sound that echoed through the hull of the Svent Class Corvette 'Lunaris' as something impacted the hull. The cloaking field around the ship distabilized, hurling the ship back into the readable spectrums.~
"Report."
~Yelled the young captain, her face straightening up from a yawn, haven fallen asleep in her command chair.~
"Something hit us. Our sensors didn't register it because of the radiation from the nebula nearby."
~Came the reply from the sensors officer, also startled from his lapse of concentration due to the bordom of deep space exploration, and the lulling hum of the ships systems.~
"Figure out what hit us... and bring the cloak back online."
~The captain began to say with a more commanding tone, waking up and grasping the situation.~
"Aye, sir."
OOC: I need a description of the system that the probe is in. Most importantly is it inhabited. I also need to kno what the scanning abilites of the scince vessel and ROBOTS are as well as what info is coming back to my probe. I'll get to your post in a sec Draconic Order.
The probe watched, documeting the method of propulsion used by the new ROBOTS. It then subjected them to the same scans it had preformed on the DSRBOT, while it performed the scan it continued to monitor the small ROBOTS communications. After 15 minutes it was ready to attempt the first communication with the mall ships. It was deliberately ignoring the crewed vessel, taking only passive readings off its gravitic and spacetime signature.
The ROBOTS were able to penetrate the first layer of the probes hull before encoutering a region of seemingly absolute chaos within the probes interior where no readings made sense. The metal was an ultradense unidentified compound that seemed to have two gravitic signatures.

The Spike was noticed, in fact, it was also going to be investigated. Immidietly Crews from the TIS Ravan Came running, for the Emperor had called.
"Orders sir!" came the call from the assembled crew.
"We are going to invesigate a GS in the Fal System." He said back. "To your posts men, we shall be leaving in three minutes."
Men began to scramble, running to their assigned post. Within three minutes the ship was ready, it entered the rift gate without second thoughts.
They arrived in the Binary system, which they called the Fal System Obviously, within three minutes. They noticed the ship, and immidietly alarms blared.
"Unknown Interdimensional unit through" Came the roar.
"CHeck if its from the void, if it is, destroy it."
"No sir, its not void, a ship like that would be torn apart in the void." THat was Kai, a Charon Clone who had a roughtly human form. "It hasn't got sufficient weapons, plus if it was from the void, thousands more would be coming through after it. Not one ship." THe captian nodded, before sending Psylic to the Ship.
-Hail
I am Captian Iak of the TIS Ravan, part of the Terran Colonies Fleet. You have entered our dimension, we wish to know why. Any move of agression will be met with your ship becoming a enemy of the Tsurani and your eventual death.

~Several long minutes passed before reports came in.~
"Ook, seems there is a metalic object lodged in the hull on the starboard side, cloak is currently offline and will be that way until we remove the object. Scans are hard to do because its blending in with the ship. Seems reason to believe that the sensors can't scan the thing because its lodged in the hull."
~He paused.~
"So go scrape it off the side of the ship..."
~The sensor's guy turned to the comm and relayed the message to get an engineer to detatch the object, possibly even retrieve it for study.~
(OOC: well the Science vessel is just looking for any engine wake, or risidual stuff, anything that will let them know where the probe came from, the ROBOTS are scanning the outer hull, taking pictures for future reference, checking the technology to see if it has been encountered before, anything that can tell them about the probe, as for the system, there are 5 planets, 2 are inhabited both one by Kadun and one by my puppet the increasingly inactive Really Small Green Men, they can be ignored cos there not really that serious, the other three planets are firey wastelands that are way too close to the sun, hope that helps)
the crew of the science vessel were amazed they had stumbled upon the motherload, the technology onboard the probe could be invaluable, and whoever owned the probe would make an excellent ally.
the probe's scans will tell them that the ROBOTS are equipped with an ultra resolution camera, a small cutting laser, a remote controlling device, a long range communication device and a basic scanning device, the hull is an alluminium, steel alloy and the bot is easily destroyed.
OOC: Let me reply to one post at a time, its hard to RP three or more different encounters in the same post.
Draconic Order:
The probe had registered a spacetime presence approaching, however it could not see it on gravitic or EM sensors so it had ignored it for the moment. Once the probe calcualted a 87.34% chance of collision it realized that a valuable research oppertunity. After activating its small if effective internal integrity field the probe waited, with each closing kilometer the chances of impact increased. At the point of impact the probe takes a small piece of the ship with it, a few mircometers at best, and take visual and gravitic snapshots of the ship trying to identify major systems like engines and weapons. As it impacts on the ship it attaches itself and waits.
Lessir Tsurani:
The ship is silent for a moment, contemplating whether a active scan would be considered hostile. For the moment it is content to start transmitting a variety of geometric sequences and mathematical forumulas, hoping to establish a common base so that lingual tranlastions may begin. The new arrival had transmitted something, the ship just didn't know what it was.
OOC: If I didn't make this clear, the vortex is still there, it didn't go away just all the spectacular gravity and radiation.

~And with that the two guys headed across the hull, slowly due to the maglock boots.~
Kaduna:
There is nothing to suggest where the probe has come from, unless sensors picked up the slight gravitic wake all ships moving through intradimensional space create it would be impossible to tell where the probe was from even if a ship was there to watch the probes arrival.
Th probe decides that contact should be made at this point, all scans indicate the race crewing the vessel is not extremely advanced nor threatening in any way. The probe begins to transmit in computer language to the science vessel...
this is empire of scellia remote probe rpd-12254. diplomatic relations are requested. spatial coordinates as follow.
This messages repeats itself every 1.840 seconds.
(OOC: im gonna be out for a few days after this post so just assume that my goverment is tied up and is delaying the launch of any deep space exploration vessels)
the science ships computer suddenly became flooded with a repeating message in binary, it was translated into Gaelic and sent to the parliment to decided what, if any, action should be taken, the ROBOTS scooted off back into the science ships BOTBAY.
Draconic Order:
The probe watches the approach of the two men eagerly, noting all details about biology, chemistry and species tolerances. It also notes suit material, communications and sensor devices. It decides to help the men, obiviously intent on studying it, in reaching it due to the slow progress made by the clunky magnetic boots. It frees itself of the hull, only slightly twisting the hull plate that it frees itself and floats toward the two men, its 3m diameter nearly touching the hull.

~The two mechanics finally came upon the probe after a couple minute hike across the star-reflecting metal. They stopped at the edge of the small crater imbedded in the side of the ship where the probe sat. Before it began drifting towards them, uprooting itself in the process.~
"Umm... its coming this way."
~They watched as it drifted toward them. The other guy dusted his hands.~
"Well, its free from the hull. I guess now we try to convince it to come with us."
~The first guy turned to the second.~
"How do you supposed we do that?"
~The second guy shrugged.~
"Ask it?"
The probe had been listening in, as is the wont of probes, to the conversation the two had been having. While it had translated the language yet it had a faint idea where to start, all it had to do was wait and see if it could get the two men to talk some more. If they didn't it would have to start with geometric and mathematical protocols. It drifted closer, but not wanting to alarm the two it maintained a 8m distance from them.
OOC: I'm going to bed, so don't go too far ahead without giving me the chance to respond.

((I give one post, then you give a post... alternating as such for eternity...
you don't need to worry about going to bed, I do that when I need sleep also.))
"Umm... Hi."
~Mechanic #2 said, waving, trying to think how they could possibly fit the thing through the airlock door.~
"It would be swell if you would follow us. There are more who would like to meet you."
~He made some hand gestures, hoping to convey his meaning more clearly, trying to get this thing to follow him. He took a step to the side, walking a few steps in the direction of the way he came, stopping and making another couple gestures. Reoeating the process, while the other mechanic followed his lead.~
The probe watched the antics of the two beings curiously but without judgement, however whenever the beings moved away it moved closer, maintaining the 8 meter distance and trying to interpet the spoken language. A task it estimated that was 48% complete, the probe sincerly hoped that the all the gesticulation didn't mean they wanted it to go away.

~One of the mechanics said as they shifted into a more leasurely hike back across the starship. Looking back every now and then to see if it was still following at the 8m mark.~
"Why do you suppose it's here anyways?"
"Exploring like us I suppose..."
The probe listened to the comm chatter, and waited. It knew that either the beings would talk enough tot reveal their language or retreat within the ship. If the latter occured the probe decided to follow, assuming that there was portal large enough for access. It was 67% finished with compiling the spoken language, and was ready to try and promt a response from the two beings.

"It just spliced together what we've been saying thus far, but it's a start. Let's wait until it says something more coherent."
~They waited until it said something again.~
OOC: Yeah, it did. I wonder what happened to everyone else in the thread.
The probe tries to us the words it knows, and some new ones that it hopes are right. It has heard enough of the transmissions so that it is very close to lingual breakthrough.

One of Kazecistan's Heavy Battle Carriers was slowly making it's way through a new system when....
"Sir! We've got incoming!"
"I thought you said this system was empty?"
"I did sir, but whatever it is, its coming in fast!"
"Is it a weapon? Do we know who sent it?"
No sir, wait, it seems to be some sort of probe, I'm reading no weapons, It doesn't appear to be able to harm us."
"Well in that case, bring it in."
"Yes sir."
The ship maneuvered until it was directly in the probe's path. A massive bay door covering 1/6 of the side of the ship began the slow process of opening. It was retracted in to the ship several meters, then raised up out of sight. When the probe came close enough, it was tractored from multiple points and brought to rest in the scientific portion of the bay, which was then sealed off and filled with air.
The probe allowed itself to be drawn in, it found it much easier to surve new species when they were kind enough to open up their ships. Once in the science bay it looked for some device that may be an access point to a computer. It didn't need access to the network, nor was it going to try, it just needed a surface scan to see how to communicate with the computer.

The science team allowed it to look about. The only displays on the ship were holo screens which reacted to touch. A message was displayed in all known languages, it was one of peace.
The probe regarded the visual information coming from the screens, and decided that it had hit the motherload. Not only did it have one language it could translate but compare it to hundreds of others. Realizing the nature of the screens it extends a tentative force field shaped like a rod to gently poke the nearest screen. It hoped that it would provide more information, with so much doule checking it could do it would take very little time to understand all the languages.

SF-53 was making it's way through the displacement points
"Sir... star map indicates that a Kazeci BC was somewhere areound here"
"Well, if they are, we can rondevous with them."
"Aye. Transit in ten seconds"
The ship lurched in the transit.
"Point is a type fourteen, sir! And we have an incoming something. No weapons, sheilds, or whatnot. Just an engine, and what looks like computers."
"Bring it onboard, captain."
The BattleCruiser, the Survey Flotilla's Flagship, tractored the thing and put it into one of the pinnace launch bays.
"Don't let it near any weapons, aside form that... let it have fun. Try taliking to it." The commodore said to the scientific staff.
The scientific envoy was made up of at least one member of each species, though they all spoke in Standard English. Exept the Treth, but they used translators.
The human member of the team looked at the translator, then at the probe.
"Why not plug that thing into it, f you can. We know what you're saying..."
OOC: Translator has a lot of languages in it, actualy, it has any spoken language encountered, and most written ones. And, because both Kazec and I are in the republic, it has all of those, too.
OOC: What sort of scanners do you have? Unless you have come across dimensional technology somewhere else you shouldn't even know what an engine looks like, let alone a computer looks like. Also you should be getting some very strange readings off the metal casing and the interior, assuming that your sensor can penetrate that far.
It took about ten minutes of listening to the scientists talking to understand the language, so it understood the comment about the universal translator. It guessed that it had similar programming to its own translation programs, but with many more stored languages. From the hand of the scientist holding the translator the probe took it, using a electromagnetic field to draw it into the side of the probe. As it approached the side a small panel opened, accepted the translator and closed. For about 1.264 microseconds the probe downloaded the information. Deciding that this information was important enough for transmission it fired a precisely coordinated spacetime disruption out toward the ship waiting on the other side of the vortex. The probe was very careful not to allow the distortion to touch any systems or personnel of the ship it was aboard, however the walls the distortion passed through were only slightly marked by its passage. Whenever anyone looked at the metal it would seem subtely wrong, however no engineer will ever find anyhitng wrong with it. Then the probe began to speak,
"I am probe number RPD-12045 of the Empire of Scellia. I apologise for the need to transmit information, but it was nesesary. The Empire only wishes diplomatic relations and peaceful trade, for we are not an inherently warlike people. This is all I am authorized to say, for more information please visit this system."

the scientists transmitted the data, and then the flotilla surged into motion. The entire flotilla went FTL to the indicated system, coming out of FTL a few seconds later
OOC: I'm working on a OOC factbook that explains my tech, its all original and very complicated. I paid way too much attention during Physics.

The 3km long ship sits there, waiting. It has only had one transmission so far, but that was normal for probes like these. The Scellian ships was, as it seemed all Scellian ships were, black. In fact it bore a startling resemblance to the probe being the exact same diameter. Coming to a rest next to the probe the shuttle touches down lightly, and a section of hull is retracted into the ship. OOC: Yeah, it did. I wonder what happened to everyone else in the thread.
The probe tries to us the words it knows, and some new ones that it hopes are right. It has heard enough of the transmissions so that it is very close to lingual breakthrough.
says something more. you said something. you said more to know
~The mechanics looked at each other.~
"What?"
"I think... hmm... it's asking... umm... something about we need to talk more... I think."
"What should we say?"
"Why are you asking me?"
~They turned back to the probe, speechless. Trying to think of something to say.~
OOC: :D Thats funny, it needs to make its way into some First Contact book somewhere. Before the other conference can go forward I need Lessir Tsurani to reply, just in case anyone was wondering.
The probe suddenly pieces together the language, and hopes that it is close enough to real to be recognizable.
"What is you wanted I to make, you wants I to go same place you? You wants me to go, go back away? Long away?

Iak nodded, before roaring over the ship.
"All Mansers not nessersary are to come abored my shuttle." Immidietly he turned, the Mathamanser and Toungmanser following quickly.
When he arrived at his shuttle he was suprised to find a Necromanser standing there. He sighed, before shooing the man away. He then got onto the shuttle, which had the shape of a Spear tip. It zoomed forward, before positioning itself at the docking bay. Uncerimoniously it moved inside, and landed in a space. Within moments the ship's bowls moved and the ramp lowered. Iak walked out, followed by Ten mansers wearing their Uniforms. All of them had a Pulse Sword at their waist, and Iak wore Normal Armour for a Captian.
"Where is the meeting taking place?" he said looking at the nearest guard.
OOC: Nope, just show up and contaqct my ship. I'll invite you to the conference and it looks like Stellar Nations is being nice and accepting a lot of guests aboard his ship. As soon as I get all the people together on the Stellar Nations ship I can give the high points of my factbook and start trade.

"This way" the Commodore said to the newest delegation. He led them back to the confrence room.
"Please, have a seat" he said, as he sat on one of the cubes, the cube forming into a contour-fitting chair around him.
"Now, can we get started?
The 'human' nods his head,
"Since it appears that there are no hostile nations present here I have an idea. This appears to be unclaimed territory, and we wish to set up a base of opeations here. On the otherside of the Gate we have a ship waiting to do just that assuming that no one minds. We will, not only as a gesture of good will but as an exploratory measure, join the place the our new friends have asked us to go."
Outside the ESS Salyrn wavers for a moment, then vanishes, having left the dimension. It could only have been by accident that anyone could have noticed the slight wake the ship created, beyond detection on gravitics in less then a second.
"The ship has already left, it will arrive shortly at its destination. Now let me tell you a little bit about our Empire. It was founded exactly 1158 years ago, we know this because we weren't the original Empire of Scellia. We are actually colonists from a muh larger Empire whose reachs spans hundreds of dimensions. Our arrival here was our first attempt to contact our true nation, however this has obviously failed. Now we need to establish trade relation in this dimension because we more generic raw materials. Most of the planets that are decent for conversion into finished products have been used up, many still remain but almost all are much hardier to use. When it comes to trade we are excellent at producing finished products, if you give us the design we can trade you nearly anything you can think of. We are esentially concerned with maintaining ourselves in our current state, this includes a healthly interest in any neighbors we might have. The other ship, and a few escorts, should be arriving soon. Now, tell me about your nations."

"Well.. The Stellar Nations is made up of ten different species and quite a few planets. Most are Oxygen-Nitrogen atmospheres, though some have different ones. The treth, of which I am am a member of, make up over a quarter of the population, with the H'rec in close second. Humans make up a small precentage. We are a fairly new nation, ony being a combined nation in the past few hundred years. Humans have had spaceflight since god knows when, and the Treth have had it for all of their known history. Most technological innovations are from Humans, as they are mostly gadget oriented. Even though the Treth have had spaceflight for thousands of years before Humans did, when they first contacted humans the Humman shipos were way ahead of theirs. From what I remember correctly from the history books, the Treth got their tecnology from another race, though that has been lost in time. It would make sense that they didn't advance much, as they ddn't knwo how it worked for the longest time.
We don't use biological warfare. One of our races, the Sepidon, had their home planet destroyed by biological warfare. They still have the vids of it... it's horrible. Only a handful of the Sepidon race survived, in an orbital space station. They had barely gotten to the point of a self-sufficent space station, which was how they survived for a few generations before the Treth found them.
WE do have a large space fleet, mostly for self defence but we will wage war for what we belive is right."

"Um, sir, we're picking up an anomoly in a nearby system."
"What kind?"
"Sir, I have never seen or heard of anything like it."
"Put it up the readings on the main screen."
"Yes sir."
"That's something you don't see every day. We're going to investigate."
"Yes sir."
"Warm up the HT array."
"Yes sir. HT array ready sir."
"Let's go."
A blue hexagon "tunnel" opened up in front of the ship. Suddenly, the ship seemed to be sucked into the HT as the "tunnel" disappeared.
On the edge of the system of the anaomly, another "tunnel' appeared, which the ship emerged from.
"So we're here. Any news?"
"There dose appear to be activity."
"Yet another thing to investigate"
OOC: Heres a 'disturbance' for you Zatarack. After I post this I'l post a reponse to you Draconic Order.
The features of the 'human' is emotionless, but this could be because 'he' is willing to only go so far in emulating a species.
"By the way, I am called Jarekar. My real name is much more cumbersome when used in the spoken language, so I won't waste time on it. Due to our physiology nearly all bio and chemical weapons are useless to us, we don't have the functions that they most often attack or use to propigate."
Jarekar cocks his head for a moment, as if listening.
"Our ship is arriving now, it will be moving to construct our first base in this dimension. On the second planet in this system, the only easily habitable one."
The Gate shuddered, the edges began to give off whorls of energy and EM readings were fluctuating wildely. Then the Gate began to expand as massive energies were pumped into it on the other side, the fabric of space shrieked against the punishment it was receiving. Slowly it grew larger and larger expanding to ten times it original size, then it began to stetch. On the other side the ten massive generators spaced equidistant around the Gate increased their tempo once again, the engineers running dangerously close to the breakpoint.
Then it began to emerge, one of the few mammoth Scellian Cityships. It was for this reason that the extra generators had been primarily built, to force the Gate to expand to allow the massive bulk of a Cityship to pass safely. After two agonizing minutes the generators were allowed to decrease power output, and the Gate quickly returned to the normal 1000 km diameter. Slowly cruising towards the indicated planet was a Scellian Cityship; 300,000 KM long, 20,000 KM across and 10,000 high it was the Scellian equivilant of an entire planet. After the Gate had restabilized an escort appeared for the massive ship, 5 10 kilometer long dreadnoughts and 10 4.5 kilometer long battleships. They proceded to form up around the Cityship as it moved on the planet.
"Come with you? I follow, you lead. You find a place where I can enter ship, no?"
The probe follows the mechanic, no longer maintaining the 8m distance but moving to a much closer 2m.

~The mechanic moved to the airlock, opening it, and shoved the probe inside... after a lot of pushing to get it through the barely 3m door. Stepping in, the door to the outside shut and the repressurizing protocol engaged. Another bout of pushing later and they ended up in the engineering section. Where the captain now waited.~

"Edi, do you have any idea what that is?"
"No Captain."
"Bring the ship in a bit closer for investigation."
OOC: Zatarack, I assume that you're talking about my Cityship. Big, isn't it.
No contact had been made with the strange ship approaching the Lyssa, the name of the Cityship that was currently descending upon the planet. It proceded to deploy a small fleet of ships, some up to 10 km long, down to the surface of the barren planet. These ships began boring a massive 20 km wide and 100 km deep hole into the crust of the planet, occasionally returning to the Lyssa to digorge their content of raw material. Deep within the Cityship the industrial complex of fabricators and warping stations began to process the raw material into a base. The first Scellian outpost in the new dimension, a Fleet Base to be home to over 20 million Scellians.

"Thank you, that is Lyssa, one of our precious Cityships. Unlike most races we have found it convient to inhabit those ships instead of planets, while we don't like to release our true figures there are over a hundred Cityships in the Scellian Empire(Gross underestimation). What is it that you need in trade, what we really need now is hard currency acceptable in this region of the galaxy. I propose that we form an alliance, for trading of technology, sace rounts, defense, and that sort of stuff. Whjo agrees?""
"Most of the terms listed are acceptable to us, the Lyssa is near enough that I can connect to her neural net uplink and we find that this is a perfect start to an awesome alliance. However we have two issues, the first is we don't know what sace rounts are. The second is the technology, we are rather paranoid about the spread of dimensional technology. While we might consider giving some dimensional technology to a long standing ally we wouldn't do more then lease out ships crewed by our people to allied governments. These contracts usually last between 10-20 years, the ships wold be produced at request. The diplomatic staff on Lyssa would be more then happy to provide a first draft of an Alliance treaty."

We can do that, we will in fact offer you a seat in the Allience of Naggaroth. I can promise you we would welcome you with our people, and you would be protected with no limitations on anything. We of the Tsurani will personally offer to construct and train men for a Warfleet, which you will be able to use at your own will. We will help supply you with weapons, and with Supplies that will be nessersary to start up colonies. And the last offer, should you wish it, we WILL establish a more powerful Dimensional gate for you, which should be able to fit those city ships through with little trouble. Are any of these acceptable?"
OOC: Are you talking for the Alliance when you say we will build a bigger Gate or personally. As a Feb 2005 nation you wouldn't have the resources alone to build a Gate, let alone an expanded one. I know that I thought up my version of dimensional technology personally, what series did you take yours from or do you have something posted anywhere that states how your dimensional tech works?
"Before we agreed to join a larger Alliance we would need to see a history of this alliance as well as its principals."

Kaduna Parliment
the disscusion of whether to send a ship to investigate the co-ordinates sent by a probe, this was the topic that was plashing up on a screen above the Grand Duke who had the most sway over desicions in parliment, he was however not in favour of launching any form of vessel to make contact, but Kaduna parliment was a weird thing, a man could go in so secure about his sanity and end up running out screaming, the original plan was to send a deep space exploration vessel, this plan then grew into sending a proposed specially built vessel, and after much debating the decission rested upon sending the Duchal Grandship Kendwina, along with a large fighter wing, no one was quite sure how it was that the decission was made but it was done and Kendwina made it's way to the proposed co-ordinates.

Ic: "You are correct. I have the power to make such decisions. I have some modifications however, if you don't mind. This alliance, I belive, is to consist of the following elements:
1. Mutual military protection, to be defined by the binding responsibility of either region/nation to offer military aid to the other, for the purposes of defense only, upon good faith request, and only if it does not take resources from either government that are deemed vital*. And by the adoption of a policy of non-aggression, where in no nation of either region/nation shall initiate a war of aggression against another nation of either region/nation.
2. Humanitarian assistance, to be defined by the binding responsibility of either region/nation to offer reasonable medical, food, sanitation, or energy aid to the other for the purposes of re-establishing proper standard of living for citizens only, upon good faith request of either region/nation.
3. Free trade.
How does that sound?"
"This sounds like a good idea, other specifics can be hammered out between governements. However we would ilke to know more about this Alliance of Naggaroth, especially if it claims to be able to build another bigger Gate."
The masive hole being dug in the planet was completed, the swarm of hundreds of fabricator ships descended on the place and began construction on the new Scellian base. It was a unique thing for the Empire to create a planetary base, but when time was short this was the solution. It was probable that as the base expanded after construction it would eventually subsume the entire planet. The construction at the lowest levels were given entirely over to power generation, the out layer was made to absorb the heat of the planet, the inner was lined with dimensional generators.
OOC: Kaduna, I'll wait for your reaction to whats happening in system when your ship gets there.

Orbit, Haven, Capitol Planet of the Democratic Republic of Halberdgardia
Interstellar Anomaly Detection Satellite Delta-007 waited passively in orbit. Or at least, it looked passive. It was actually actively scanning the stars, as far as its hysradar could reach, ever-vigilantly watching for anything that might be considered anomalous. It hadn't picked up anything to speak of yet.
That was when the pulse hit.
A gravimetric pulse so powerful it threatened to temporarily overload the sensor circuits of IAD-Delta-007 rippled through local space-time. The probe immediately relayed this information to its controllers on the ground.
Haven Orbital Control Center
"I've got something!"
The cry pierced the dull roar of computer systems, printers, and humans that was the Haven Orbital Control Center. The humans ceased their chatting, leaving only the humming of hundreds of computers to fill the air.
"What is it?" Director Rob Eriksson hadn't had any major crises during his five-year tenure as Director of Haven's Orbital Control Center, and he was devoutly hoping this wouldn't break that record.
"Reading from IAD probe Delta-double-oh-seven, sir." The young tech was reaching for a printout by the time Eriksson made it down to the computer the tech was at. "Extremely powerful gravimetric disturbance, sir, coming from way the hell out in uninhabited space. Or, at least, what we thought was uninhabited space."
"It certainly appears to be inhabited now. Send this up to SPACOM. They'll make the decision on this."
Hours later, Space Command had come to a decision: one Vespir-class cruiser, D.R.H. Adamantine, was to be dispatched to the system where the pulse originated from to investigate. The crew was prepped for a possible "First Contact" scenario.

Orbit above Haven, Capitol Planet of the Democratic Republic of Halberdgardia
The sleek white shape of the Vespir-class cruiser D.R.H. Adamantine cut through the inky blackness of the surrounding space like the beam from a lighthouse on a foggy night. It contrasted sharply with the blue-green sphere of Haven below. With its streamlined shape, and the fact that it, and its brother and cousin vessels, were the only spacecraft in the Halberdgardian domain, it was nigh unmistakable.
On the bridge, Captain Jack Whittier prepared to launch his vessel into the unknown.
"This is it, people. Keep your country, and the rest of humankind, in mind when we get there. We'll probably be dealing with a First Contact scenario. We go in the name of peace, but I want to make it clear: if we are threatened by a belligerent alien species, we will not hesitate to use force.
"Hyperspace, take us in. Fifteen-hundred AUs from the system's center."
"Aye, sir."
The wormhole burst into existence, pouring out prodigious waves of Cherenkov radiation, its toroidal nimbus twinkling with azure scintillations. It dissipated as quickly as it had begun, bringing the Adamantine into the system where the pulse originated, fifteen-hundred AUs from its center.
"Attention xeno ship, this is the Malga. Come in xeno ship."
"This is Lyssa, Empire of Scella Cityship. We welcome you our system, what is it that you seek here? We wish no battle nor conflict, please identify yourselves."
Even as this was being transmitted to the Zatarack ship the courscating energies of wormhole travel spat the Adamantine into realspace.

"Perhaps we are moving too fast.
Kazecistan is run by the High Council, whose members are elected for life, but the people may vote to replace them once every 5 years. There are 2 branches, each with 2 sub branches. The Internal branch consists of the Development and Enforcement, while the Foreign branch consists of the Diplomatic and Military. We run a modified communism. 85% of the population is employed by the government and all buildings and land are owned by the government.
Most of any Kazeci city is underground. Things are designed for efficiency and function while keeping appearance in mind. We refuse to use anything we did not build, but are very accepting culturally. We have existed for many centuries, through which we have become the only surviving group of sentient on our planet. There were once many nations, but that was long ago and the story is too bloody to recount.
The Republic is a grouping of like minded nations who have come together to protect and aid each other in many ways. We have grown from a mere 2 nations to 17 in (4 RL months). We only admit those who we know will up hold our reputation. Our goal is to spread peace and prosperity throughout the universe.
Is there any thing else you would like to know?"

"No, I think that beside astrological data as well as some brief synopsis on other major nations for out Intelligence Division we should be well enough informed. At this point we are not ready to enter into larger alliances, though we may side with them in the future. Thought we would like to know more about the AoN, as it has been mentioned in talks we recently participated in."

"Information on other nations is best given by them, but I can recite some of their major actions so far. In The Republic, notable nations include Taledonia, ISF Devastator, Deatharon, as well as myself and SN here. Taledonia is our founder, very diplomatic nation, but not lacking militarily. ISF is good for military and not much else, some what expansionist and war like, but over all acceptable. Deatharon is on very thin ice right now as he is fighting an unpopular war and attempting to leave the Republic. Out side of us, there is Gaian Ascendancy (sp), an all around do-gooder. The GE are a large group of nations who are lead by a few huge nations (Chronisia, Unified Sith...) who bully others into their service, imposing martial law at all times and enslaving entire races at will -good people to stay far away from. Mini Meham is a 'good' nation of about our size who is willing to fight to protect his beliefs. Dreconic Order often appears and attacks ships without cause and is very imperialistic. Calp is a friendly nation with good intensions, they remain mostly neutral. There are many nations in this Galaxy, far too many to recount, but these are a few of the notable ones. I'm sure that I'm forgetting plenty, but that should be of use.
We too are interested in this AoN, as we have never heard of it."
ooc: I have most likely slaughtered every name here, sorry.
"We'll be sure to take these into account. What we could really use is something like a textbook used in schools to teach about galatic history. We're sure that its too long and involved to recount even recent events right here."

"Holy shit!"
"What is it, Sensors?" Captain Whittier demanded, disturbed at the use of profanity; it was highly unprofessional, and not a common occurence in the military, at least not while not fighting.
"I'm picking up some sort of absolutely massive spacecraft in the system. The thing's abso-fucking-lutely huge, Captain. Hysradar's reading...300,000 kilometers long, 20,000 kilometers across and 10,000 high. It's the size of a goddamned planet, sir."
"Oh my God..." Whittier was stunned. "Any civilization that builds something like that...that's incredible. We're dealing with an advanced alien civilization, people."
OOC: For comparison purposes, the Adamantine is about 350 meters long and 250 meters wide.

OOC: Are you talking for the Alliance when you say we will build a bigger Gate or personally. As a Feb 2005 nation you wouldn't have the resources alone to build a Gate
OOC PAH! This should be in my signiture, I am NOT a Feb 2005 nation. If you wish to find out my population, look up the nation Naggeroth, then add four hundred million, THAT is my population. I had some problems with my old nation, that matter not. To find infomation on the AoN go to "The Land of Chill" Region and look round ((Note joining not compolsery))
IC Iak Nodded. "Of Corse, Here" He handed an oval pad. "Read up on it, and see your words in due corse."
the Kendwina slowed to a halt at the designated co-ordinates, there it found a large ship, larger than the Kendwina.
"Grand Duke, there is a large ship outside!" One of the ensigns cried out
"Admiral, have your men transmit a repeating message in binary, tell the ship that we wish to discuss terms of an alliance!"
OOC: So you're a Oct or Nov 2003 nation, mkay. For some reason, that I don't care enough to poke around my profile to fix, I can't see sigs so it wouldn't have helped. Essentially you meant that I could provide the tech for the Gate and you would provide the material. I'll TG Gronde about more info.
The binary code was interpreted rapidly, and converted to actual language before a reply was sent. however the reply was in the language of Kaduna and not binary.
"We would love to begin talks over an alliance, if you like we can have one of our ships bring over a delegate to talk."
OOC: How big is the Kendwina, I know its smaller then the Lyssa but that is about all. Of course that is not saying a lot as Earth is smaller then the Lyssa.
(OOC: im not too familiar with the sizes of FT ships so if i make it too big then just give me a slap on the wrist, im guessing its about 2,000 meters wide 20,000 meters long, and 1,000 meters deep, ill draw a pic whenever i get time, as for now i'm off to college)
the Admiral was stunned at the seemingly flawless Kaduna reply, "Grand Duke, sha'll we allow a delegate?" The Admiral asked, to which the Duke responded "yes, tell them to go to the open hanger bay, Ensign, open hanger bay 2!"
OOC: If you make it 20 klicks long and 10 wide then it needs to be more then 80 high. If you use 20000m as length I would suggest something like 2000-5000m wide and 1000-3000m high. Of course the Kendwina should be pretty unique, the Executor-class Super Star Destroyer is 17.6 km long and my Super Dreadnought IVs(of which I have only two) are 25 km long.
The shuttlecraft launched from the Lyssa is accompanied by two 10 km dreadnoughts, the shuttle being the same hull as the probe. It lands in the specified bay, after a brief interval the the side of the shuttle swings open to admit a being indentical in appearance to the vast majorites of the Kendwina's crew.
(OOC: i was thinking it was a bit rediculously small, but hey, ill edit my post)
The Grand Duke was stunned at the apperance of the Delegate, it had been assumed that the Kaduna were native to Kaduna, he timidly asked "are you from Kaduna? Please explain your apperance?" The whole crew had stopped to look at the delegate.
"We usually find that most species find it more comfortable to talk to one of their own, at the very least they cannot find the form we take physically repulsive. A Scellians physical form is not nearly as permenant as that of many other species."
After the delegate steps off the ramp a small kitten follows, staying near him.
The Grand Duke smiled "ay, i see what you mean, please follow Admiral Krowadan to the conference room, i will be there in a short while, Krowadan will begin the talks."
"Excellent."
With that the Scellian delegate follows the good Admiral, the kitten tagging along.

"What is it commander?
"We have come across a new xenoform/nation."
"How did you encounter them?"
"We were in a nearby system, picked up some strange signals, found a massive ship, and established communications."
"I'm transferring this to Xeno Affairs."
"Unless you want to go into specifics I think that we can agree on a few things. The first being that we will have free trade between our nations, a logical first step toward much more productive trading. The second is that our fleets will protect the others transports like we would our own. The final being that we should sest up embassies with each other to hammer out the specifics as well as to go into much more detail about diplomatic realtions in the future."

The Duke
The Duke walked into his room, he sat down in front of a statue of a strong man with an axe, the Duke sliced his palm and let blood spill onto a dish in front of the statue, the Duke got to his feet bowed and then poured some liquid onto his palm, the cut slowly dissapeared

The Science Officer touched the crystal to display the information he was getting for the whole bridge. The Captains orders suddenly broke into his mind. "Continue to scan the life forms and begin decrypting their communications I want to know what their saying." The thoughts where firm and shure. "Well don't just let it go uninvited, give it a welcome." The standard first contact message of peace was sent out in all known languages.
A visual msg is sent in responce A beautiful crystalline creature humanoid shaped appears on screen
"Greetings Organic life form." the voice has a musical quality to it like someone running their fingers around glasses with diffrent amounts of water.
"sir!" One of the ensigns shouted over to the Captain "what is it?" He asked "a ship has been detected by one of the DSRBOTS, it's composition appears to be that of crystal." The Captain was shocked, Crystal technology had been toyed with but the idea had been shot down "send a binary transmission, tell them we want peace, hah 2 birds with one stone."

the Captain sent a message back "i just use the thing, i have no idea how it works, you'll probably want to talk to my cheif scientist about that"

When the probe heard the news it started to quiver,
"A WEEK!! What, do you have to teach the diplomat to talk first? Let me talk to the captain, I can have a ship to the diplomat in a matter of hours not days. Look what you've done now, you've caused me to go into uncontrable theatrics."
~The crew seemed to ignore the plight of the probe. To them that it was like a child, unknowing of the adult world and the fact that everyone had their business to attend to first. But a week of bordom later a ship similar to the one the probe was on moved along side, the ambassador was transfered aboard within minutes of the ship's arrival. He took his time to walk to the cargo bay where the probe was shut up in for the last seven or so days. He wore a brown-gray robe, pulling the hood back one would see the fact he wore a black silken blindfold over his eyes. He spoke to the female captain that was at his side as he entered and looked over the probe.~
"So this is the matter that you had to call me here for? Doesn't seem that impressive to waste my time with."
OOC: And I thought that this thread was dead. Plus who said that my people were organic?
The Admiral
The Admiral showed the delegate through into a large grey room, the lights were dim, "please sit, i have been told to propose a non agression pact and await further instructions from the Grand Duke"
"A nonaggression pact, with conditions on certain intersolar behavourol patterns included, is perfectly acceptable to us. Some of these that might nullify a non aggression pact would be something like interstellar aggression especially against allied countries."
"So this is the matter that you had to call me here for? Doesn't seem that impressive to waste my time with."
"I suppose that compared to ships I'm not that impressive, but what I represent is more powerful then you think possible. THAT is why you should listen to me, so I can take you where the real power is."
"Greetings Organic life form." the voice has a musical quality to it like someone running their fingers around glasses with diffrent amounts of water.
The Scellian ship makes no response, assuming that it is directed at the variety of other ships in the system since Scellians are not organic but metallic.
OOC: If you read the factbook is says that Scellians aren't organic but a metallic species resulting from centuries of genetic engineering and mechanical intergration.

"I'm intrigued... go on."
"A Dimension is composed of many dimensions, the most easily visible being the obvious four, time, width, depth and height. We are a people who come from outside this Dimension, the collection of dimensions most easily characterized by the four previously listed. Each Dimension has the same set of rules that govern all its subdimensions, and each Dimension is part of a cluster of Dimensions that are accessable be people who posess the knowledge to travel between them. Dimensional Clusters are also acessable to each other, but are much more difficult to do so and requires even greater knowledge then simply passing between Dimensions. We are from another Dimensional Cluster, and that comes with that ability is true power."
The capital and lower case letters are easily inferred from the probes speech, especially when it comes to the word dimension.

"If you would, please input the coordinates of those that would speak for your kind. I would like to meet them."
"You will believe once you see the Gate, it is one of the more intruging sights in any Dimension."
The crystal ship stops scaning everything but the dimensional gate and the 3 km long ship, dark as a black hole which it begins to scan very slowly.
The Captain turns to his science officer "record all data on the ship and the dimensional portal it came from I want to know where they originate from." The science officer dosn't even turn "Yes,Sir all data being saved we should know if there is another incursion into this space from that dimension next time." The captian reminded him "Good there are only two typs that travel into other dimensions on such a scale explorers and conquerers, and I want to make shure this case isn't the latter."
(*Edit* O.O.C sorry long post hard to keep track my bad :D insert name current ship ;) )
OOC: The 3 km ship left a while ago, Lyssa came through the Gate with some escorts after that.
10 min after it starts deep scaning it leaves suddenly.
(O.O.C if you can scan dimnensional events it space folds away without opening a gate it just forms a field on the ships hull.)
OOC: What? Could you try that again with puctuation and a little more explaination. I'm not sure what you just said happened to what and what did it.
10 minuets after the crystal ship began it's scan of the gate and the ships that came through it space folds away.
(O.O.C The ship forms a small rip in space/time around itself and momentarily links it's location with a location just outside dominion space. When the rip closes microseconds latter it is now at the point just outside dominion space.)
OOC: OK, I get it now. I thought that you were talking about something space folding around/to one of my ships.
