OOC: This will be some random UNCLAIMED system in the Milky Way. Keyword no one owns it. But feel free to say it borders you and start some shit!
************************************************************
A Large fleet dropped out of coaxial space and into the empty system; 9 planets and a one star, simple enough. The Colony ships begun to fire weapons onto the planet surface, clearing the way for building sites.
RJ Harris the civilian leader of the project looked worried. “I still don’t like those military types Nichole” He spoke to his wife who was co leading the project. She put her hand on his shoulder “Don’t worry, the military cant do anything to this system. This is a private project by the people! "
Her husband still wasn’t convinced at all “Then why are there 120 TE ships escorting us here? We have weapons to! We can defend ourselves! “He was starting to get red in the face. Lying back on the bed.
His wife tried to comfort him. “Face it honeys, we can’t defend ourselves against whatever could be out there. But they can. It took us 6 months to get here; it only took them 3 days. I think we can trust them. Come on lets get the ships ready to touch down. And put some pants on, it's time to get going. "
15 minutes later...............
“Honey, The TE navy has contacted us; they wish to speak to you!” She reported to her husband.
They were on a small lightly armed civilian colony ship. The 1st built by a civilian in the ECF.
He looked very nervous and sweaty he had never spoke to a military man before. He had his best clothing on but he was still scared shitless.
“Yesss sir. How can we help you? "
The TE Officer Snapped back “We have developed a Defensive Circle around the system. Out”
His wife begun to message to the ships to land “Come on honey, lets go.”

Aboard the Survey Ship " Eye of the True Faith"
"Stardate 5413 Captains" a long pause " Log, We have...reached" another long pause followed by a burst of laughter. " See now that is a great Kirk impersonation," laughed Comm-Officer Clavius. " Yeah, and I-oh crap," Mallard, Clavius' fellow officer pointed to the 3d readout. " Somebodies got something near the Border, looks like thier letting off energy emissions," Clavius wiped his forehead and said "Damn, well damn I thought this would be a bit more uneventful. Crap, well send a probe and send a transmission to the nearest Andrewsylvaniaan Patrol.
What appears to be a small asteroid exits the ship. Propelled by its ionic drive the probe makes its way past the border of Andrewsylvaniaan space and into the unclaimed system.

Deep Space Post 231 had been picking up energy readings in what was thought to be unsettled systems. The post was picking up more then just one but multiple energy readings.
Admiral Yomis Fleet was near by in the area and got a transmission from Praetor Weyoun.
Admiral Yomi we have been picking up strange readings a near by system. I am ordering you to take your fleet to find out what it is and what its attentions are.
Admiral Yomi set coarse for the energy readyings
His fleet was made up of
2 Jem'Hadar Battleships
30 Jem'Hadar Light Cruisers
100 Heavy Jem'HadarHeavy Cruisers
2 Daemon Class SD's
200 Jem'Hadar Attack Craft.
It mission wasnt to attack but never the less he never went into a unknow area with out protection

A small unmanned space probe had picked up a few ships floating around just outside the Adeian cluster. A small fleet had been dispatched to discover the motives of the massed alien group. Naval command in this sector did not recognise any significant life forms in that system, so it was thought the fleet might be a colonization project, if so they would have to negotiate the borders between themselves and the Pudite Imperium.
The man in charge of the Pudite fleet, Captian Ralko, had commanded his, the 103rd Patrol fleet for 11 years, but this was his first mission outside Pude space. He has with him; 1 MArs Battlecruiser, which was his command ship, 7 Gothic class cruisers, and 18 Sword class frigates. The remainder of his fleet was being held in reserve back inside pudite space. The 1st Auxilliary fleet was also on call in this area. He knew he had backup, but Ralko was still a little nervous to leave the Imperiums borders.
HMM SCIENCE VESSEL Relativity 24 GUNS 23 SOULS
The Relativity dropped out of warp, bringing itself to a fast stop just outside the system.
"This could be a great find for the Makaarian government," the Captain sighed, dreaming of the riches that he would be rewarded with if this system did indeed prove valuable. He was Captain Grendon Underwood of His Makaarian Majesty's Science Vessel Relativity. A tall, handsome man, he had a rather rugged exterior. Why he chose to captain a science ship with only 24 torpedo launchers rather than a state-of-the-art Queendom-class battleship was unknown even to his crew. But he seemed to enjoy it.
"Run multi-spectral scans of the system," he ordered. "Deploy all sensor probes. If there's riches to be had here, I'm going to find them."
He paused and looked around at the bridge staff who all glared at him angrily. "With all your help" he added, less confidently.
The ship cruised between two fragments of stellar debris and swung through a small, medium-density asteroid field, surveying each planet in turn.
OOC: Hello Emporer Pudu, my old friend. I'm back.

The Fleet lead by Admiral Yomi exited warp at the edge of the system. There they would do some more scans and wait five hours befor moveing to where the energy readings were loctated at. If this turned out to be a first contact mission Yomi would not be the one anyone would want to meet. He was a cold and calculating man. He had been in many battles and held no respect for weaker races. If they proved to be a stroung race he would have respect for them. And that would be a step in the right direction. If they were weak then he would attack. And he had brought the ships to do it to.
Now they would wait. Let the scans bring more light to what he was getting him self into. But he was ever watchful for anything he didnt like.
The rest of the crew was in Central when Rang emerged through the hatch from his bunk. Java and Kamirn floated over the A/V table, staring. Java glanced back at Rang, her jet black hair splaying through space. As Ensign Java Orj she saluted, “Lieutenant Calarno, sir.”
Oh, this is serious, thought the lieutenant. The four of them had been out for 18 months, nobody bothered saluting anymore. He pushed off from the wall, gliding towards the table, grabbing hold of the siderung between the ensigns. Kamirn Kungal saluted, looking ridiculous with a year’s growth of tangled hair, a boyish face despite his beard. Not that Rang was a sight better. The rugged, yet immaculately groomed face of Jovaka Vokan saluted him from a corner of the viewscreen.
“Ensign Kungal, Ensign Orj, Argus Ensign Vokan. I am to gather the probe has spotted us?”
“No way of knowing Skipper,” replied Vokan in his calm, yet rich voice, “at least it isn’t actively scanning in our direction and hasn’t altered it’s behavior, other than to attempt communications with the more obvious occupants of this system.” A stylized rocky lump on the System Tactical Display was highlighted. “It is disguised as a small asteroid.”
“I see.” Calarno said laconically. Their own ship had, as S.O.P., taken a liberal sample of the local stardust, hardened it nearly to stone with electric current, and sculpted it into realistic features.
Ensign Orj interjected. “A small asteroid that just braked from relativistic velocities. They didn’t even bother to tailor the composition and trace elements to this system. We’re dealing with some real pros, Sir.”
“Then why are you calling me ‘Sir’?”
“Do note our present location,” Vokan droned on. The three-dimensional display scrolled across several AUs, showing a large swarm of red objects. A blue, hopefully convincing asteroid sat nearby, connected to a gently curving line. “Our orbit will bring us into immediate sensor range of the unidentified fleet inside of 90 minutes. Detection-beyond-the-hope-of-disguise will be inevitable.”
Kungal spoke up, “Not to mention that they entered this system at some ungodly multiple of c. We’d have no chance of escaping in hyperspace, even if they didn’t manage to Interdict.”
Lieutenant Calarno sighed a professional sigh, made his mind empty as the void of space, and considered. If they did nothing they would be detected. If they tried to escape in realspace, they would give themselves away by their ion trail. If they tried to escape in hyperspace, they would give themselves away by the distortion.
Vokan continued, “I’m preparing an Omega cipher. There should be over 600 reasonable variants of the message.”
Calarno couldn’t help feeling a certain gallantry toward Jovaka Vokan. Despite his choice of a cold, masculine appearance, his real body, lying naked and inert in a tank ten meters away, was perhaps the most exquisitely feminine thing Rang had ever seen. A waste, twice over. But then again, it wasn’t at all wrong to see the young ‘man’ taking an interest in ensign Orj…
Ahem!
He snapped his mind back to thoughts of the present situation, and the impending discovery and/or death of himself and his crew. To Remnant Kinduran psychology, even in a mind as liberated as that of the Skipper, discovery and death could scarcely be told apart.
He searched and searched, and stopped hunting. When you stand still, your quarry comes to you.
“We’ll open contact.”
Kungal: “What??”
Orj: “You’re awfully brave.”
Calarno: “It isn’t brave to save your own life.”
Vokan: (with glowing red eyes) “Saving your life is the bravest thing anyone can do.”
Orj: (pauses to stare with alarm at Vokan’s image) “But it’s not just our own lives we’re ‘saving’. We’re endangering our People to possibly hostile empires whose forces and technology we can’t estimate. And it’s more than that; we aren’t ready to crack our species’ egg without what’s inside being smashed.”
Calarno: “We will be, after we’ve done it.”
Vokan: (with stellifarious blue eyes; his face is faded over a display of the Remnant system) “One’s own life is one with the life of one’s people, with the life of the universe. All face this dilemma. If our people are exposed, we will be crushed from outside. If we remain in isolation, we will stagnate. We cling to safety, but there was never safety anywhere.” (The display has gradually expanded, showing many stars, the galaxy, a vast continuum of galaxies, gradually fading into the night. The screen shows her real face, framed with fiery hair, smiling.)
The animate members of the crew are floating in the middle of the room.
Kungal: “We’ll need to cut our hair...”
The stellar dust is shrugged off the ship, and a hailing signal sent to the entire system. After an efficient primer included with the signal, the following text message can be decoded.
Greetings!
I am Doctor Rang Calarno, Lead Researcher of ship 419 of the Kinduran Astro-Geological Survey. We had not expected so many fellow visitors to this system, but are pleased to begin first contact procedures.
The message was correct in all technical details.
The Neo-Zetan fleet would find that it had come from very close by.

Yomi was informed of the transmission. He knew these wernt the energy readying they had picked up but he wished for aggressive first contact....or atleast to scare them into a weaker postion bettering his spot in talks.
The Fleet changed coarse towrd where the transmission had come from.
Shields were online and weapons powered up and on stand by.
I am Admiral Yomi of The Dominion Axis or otherwise known as Neo Zeta. Why were you hideing in this system so close to our border?

Deciding the time for stealth was over, the Andrewsylvaniaan probe prepares a pre-made message. Selecting a standard male avatar the probe transmits the holographic message to any nearby ships. The Avatar of the probe appears mostly human, male, and has the feminine face of a male model. The avatar makes a welcoming smile, flashing jewel studded teeth. The only features marking the face as inhuman are the gold, pupiless eyes and its reflective skin.
The probe speaks in a clear and low voice in the only language the Andrewsylvaniaans know " I am Inquisitive Eye 7.18 AI Construct, I represent the blessed nation of Andrewsylvaniaa, and greet all extrasolarians with open arms and extend the Light of the One True Faith.

((I still don't understand the need to bring more then a handfull of small scout ships or its equivilant... much less bringing more than a hundred heavily armed cruisers... A lot of nations don't understand the need for subtlety, plus they must be running their economy into the ground keeping huge fleets active everywhere there are alien contacts...))
Java and Rang floated in mid-air, watching the tactical display as hostile red ships surrounded their poor blue ship.
"I told you this was a bad idea." Java crossed her arms, staring at the 'Lead Researcher'.
His eyes drilled back. "Ensign Orj, it is proper among scientists to adopt - more or usually less - an equalitarian social structure, and while we are scientists, we will act accordingly. At this moment, however, we are military personnel, and I am your superior officer. Buckle down and live with it. Or would you rather we called Omega right now?"
She sighed, "Yes, Sir."
They were in scientific dress-uniform. Simple, elegant, nerdy. Fortunately it projected just enough authority to keep it's occupant from becoming space debris, if the aliens were just plain belligerant. Jovaka said yeah, they were.

A ruggedly handsome man sits in zero-G, in some kind of control room. He begins to speak in a soft, yet deeply masculine voice.
"I'm afraid if you have any complaints you'll have to address them to the Captain. If you establish a two-way audiovisual channel, I'll route you to him directly."*

*The words are spoken in Kinduran and seamlessly(visually altering the motions of lips to make them synch with spoken words and, not incidentally, to disguise the fact that the original image is a fake) translated (using a different application of omni-conceptual cipher technology to destroy latent information about the original language) into terran basic, which is widely known and may be translated into the hearer's preferred language on arrival.
**Terran Empire? Or is it IC to call you East Coast Federation?
This message is sent at higher power to be carried farther through the system.
--BEGIN TRANSMISSION--
The same man sits in the same chamber. His voice is now more open and friendly.
"I am Jovaka Vokan, among other things, I am the communications officer aboard KAGS-419. My captain is presently preparing for first contact talks at this location, and we will gladly accept delegates for multipoint talks possibly culminating in treaties and trade agreements once diplomatic ties have been established."

OOC: Draconic Order this is FT. Econemys are much more powerful then MT and as such can have larger number of ships. Some dont even use money. Me the Gaians and alot of FT nations field huge fleets. As for takeing it out for first contact not most of the time. But energy singles so close to my border in what is suppose to be a unsettled system. i could easly assume its a invasion force after my recent war with the Gaians.
IC: I see, I assume you had no idea you were so close to any border. Very well we will send a Vorta when your ready for meetings.
Yomi turned to a Vorta commander " Order the ships to stand down from combat alert and give the ship some room"

"Captain, I'm reading a number of other ships in this area," the science officer said, watching the readings on his computer screen.
"Are they hostile?" the captain asked. Another scan was run, and a moment later the science officer replied. "I can't be certain," he said. "Either way, we don't have the systems to defend if they are, and reinforcements are weeks away. We're out here alone, captain."
The captain leaned back in his chair. "We don't want to aggravate any attacks. We'll keep our weapons powered down and our shields lowered. Send out a standard friendly greeting, all languages and all frequencies."
The communications officer entered the commands and pushed a button. "Done," he confirmed.

The Captain walked in from the ready room and waved down his 1st officer. With a slight German accent he looked into his TED. “Oh boy, anothoer primitive war fleet; open a channel. Oh yeah; all ships yellow alert “He told his COMM officer.
He hated this 1st contact shit, and it looked like it might get a bit messy and he really didn’t want it to.

Captain Underwood smiled at the promising response. "Continue running scans of the area. I want a full readout of any resources in the area. Hail the East Coast Federation flagship and tell them we will dock with them."
"Sir, we're reading several more ships in the area," the science officer said. "With the governments of these nations, I wouldn't be surprised if a battle broke out."
"Understood," the captain said. "We'll stay out of any conflict unless the need for it arises. In the meantime, take us to Condition Yellow. I want round-the-clock diagnostics of the weapons and defensive systems. If we have to go into battle, I don't want our systems to cut out."
He remembered the last time he had been in battle aboard the ship; it was only because the race he had gone into battle with was so much less advanced than his own that he escaped alive. 12 Gloobanian "battlecruisers" attacked his ship. While he was able to hold them off, his weapons cut out in the middle of the fight because the daily diagnostic had gone undone.
The ship cruised through space quietly, collecting data about the surrounding area and proceeding towards the East Coast Federation ships.
"Ensign Vokan, please send the following message: 'We are ready for talks and request permission to dock with the Dominion flagship.'"
"Yes, Sir." Jovaka said in an amused feminine voice.
Lieutenant Calarno turned his lip into a wry grin. If the Neo Zetans tried anything they would regret it.
His head was completely shaved in fashion for Kinduran professional men. The rest of his body was completely covered. Orj kept her jet-black hair in a managed ponytail. Her uniform was skin-tight, but by some feat of design, modest.
A bald Ensign Kungal floated through the circular port from the hygene chamber. He was starting to look professional, even dignified. From the corner of his eye, the Skipper caught Java staring. Kids...
