The wargames begin, the forces were deployed at what ever point they wished around the city outskirts, and the wargames would encompass the city, the nearby highway, and a ten mile radius around the city limits.(total of about fifty miles to fight in.)

The Dominion forces deployed to the west of the city, near the old flood wall and interstate embankment cuts, then moving into the city to take the heights in the center.

(the city is much like richmond virginia, so if you use a map of richmond it should work well enough.)

Meanwhile, Field Marshal Shinseki moved quickly, using his Gagarin shuttles to deploy his Infantry and ground forces at Glenwood Golf Club, Youngs Pond and near Columbia Chippenham Medical Center. The supporting air units were based a Chickahominy Bluffs Battlefield PK. Scenes reminescent of Vietnam played out, as men and materials leaped out of the shuttles and began fortifying surrounding buildings, waiting for orders.

The Komosomols soon went into action, beginning strafing runs on the Dominion by firing showers of cannon fire from their Gatling guns and firing their 300mm Medium Range Missiles at the Siege Tanks and Medics and trying to move as fast as possible.

OOC: Well, you did say use a map of Richmond.....

OOC: not so literal please, a general map of richmond and terrain descriptions is enough. :headbang:

IC:

The Valkyries, Wraiths and Goliaths all engaged the attacking planes with their missiles, almost certain that the volume of fire they were putting out would destroy most of the attackers.

The infantry and medics took a good bit of injuries, but it wasn't anything the medics couldn't fix themselves, while the siege tanks were the targets of most of the shots, meaning that over 100 were lost at the very beginning of the fight, while the missiles were mostly intercepted my marine guns, although a full company of medics was lost to the combined missiles and chainguns.

The Komsomols suffered 100 dead, as the combined volume of Wraith, Goliath, and Valkirye fire did a number on them. They decided to land to the west of the enemy positions, and deploy into Battleoid mode....which they did, after landing in a highway. About 10 unfolded rather quickly, but the others, having suffered moderate damage, took a little longer. The ten supported their struggling comrades by by continuing to fire on the enemy, though they began to hit the Goliaths with cannon and laser fire.

The Komsomols decided to call in reinforcements- and a force of 700 Kurosawas and 1,500 infantry began moving from their South-Central position and proceeded to go Northwest to try and meet this threat head on. The Kurosawas began to make short hops, going in advance of the infantry using jump jets. When they got close, they took cover and began to fire their railguns at the Medics and Marines....

OOC: If that stunk, it can be fixed.

The attacking Veritechs were brought under fire from the Goliaths chainguns and the twin 80mm cannon of mobile siege tanks, while the advancing infantry ran into the Vulture bikes, who promptly launched a grenmade each, deployed a spider mine, and turned tail for the safety of the lines, where the firebats were holding the front with the marines providing fire support.

The Veritechs that had fired were hit, and one was destroyed outright by the Siege Tanks. The others had deployed by now, and the whole group ran in closer, charging the Siege Tanks with laser and cannon.

Meanwhile, the Infantry sustained 20 losses at the grenades tore into the ranks. The Kurosawas fired back at the Vultures, but they were soon gone, leaving the Kurosawas and the Infantry to hang back deterred by the mines. They then turned their railguns and machine guns on the firebats and Marines, firing like madmen-they had heard of their surprising weakness in combat......

All the while, engineering infantry was sent up to try and defuse the mines.

In reserve were the Marineskos, but with the heavy flak, it seemed that bringing them in would only invite trouble. Still, 200 were sent out, half targeted the Valkiryes, half the Goliaths, using their own Gauss guns and lasers. In case the enemy tried anything funny, the Amethyst Stealth Detectors were turned on....

OOC: I did include support infantry as part of my overall count....but if the engineers reference was faulty, let me know.

OOC: the engineers will just be the targets of the mines, they chase their target down, it's kinda funny actually.

IC:

The wraiths and Goliaths opened fire on the approaching threat, while the Valkyries went to evasive maneuvring to try and pereserve their craft.

The firebats and marines were surprisingly resilient, although it may have had more to do with the medics that kept them healed than it did with the marines themselves, they returned fire with a passion, letting loose bursts from their 8mm impaler gauss rfles, while the firebats hunkered down and just waited for the enemy to close with them, then their flamers would come in to play, and the casaulties would mount, and fast.

The engineers finally got close enough to trigger the minesproximity systems, shoving themselves out of the ground and running on their small legs towards the engineers sent to defuse them, yes they'd be defused, on the engineers.(They proximity detobnate at 5 feet from the target)

The siege tanks and goliaths kept up their withering barrage as the enemy closed into their range, while the first ranks fired the rear ranks deployed their siege cannon, 170mm shock guns with massive power and range, when the first gun deployed they went to maximum fire rate as support artillery, assaulting the infantry and the advancing V-Techs.

The Engineers tried to run like hell, as the spider mines ran all over, trying to get close enough so they could blow up. Some of the Infantrymen tried to shoot at the mines with their lasguns......

Meanwhile, the Veritechs rolled, ducked, crawled and began moving in a zigzag pattern, firing more lasers and cannons at the Siege Tanks and Goliaths as they tried to close the distance between them and their enemy. They moved as fast as possible, two Veritechs were taken down and many more were taking hits.

The Kurosawas sustained damage, but they shrugged off the Impaler rounds and proceeded to fire at the Medics supporting the Marines and Firebats. Meanwhile, units of Infantrymen began to move in close, peppering the Marines and Firebats with lasgun fire and the occasional 40mm WP and HE grenade. Light infantry mortars were also being set up, as well; they were being covered by their comrades.

Some groups of Marineskos began taking on the Wraiths head on, attempting to move in close and gain missile lock. Meanwhile, they peppered the Wraiths with gauss and blaster fire. The Goliaths were soon the targets of other formations, who began dive bombing them with proton torpedoes as well. The Valkiryes were engaged by those remaining Marineskos who were not busied with the Goliaths or the Wraiths; they kept on them with gauss and laser fire, speeding up to try and keep up with the enemy.

Since their enemies were helpfully closing the range, they opened fire with their dual mounted hellstorm missile packs, while the valkyries activated their 8 halo missile batteries, and began to fire at the closing enemies. Although the enemies were shooting at them with cannon the shield tech they had gotten for their airborne units from the Protoss was standing them in good stead, it was less efficient than the protoss version, but it should last up to a minute in a dogfight.

As the engineers ran away three of the mines were destroyed by the shootng marines, but the rest got close enough to detonate, probably catching the enemy inside the blast radius.

The medics took cover behind their shields( http://scgame.wz.cz/terranunits/mizzinmedic.jpg ), shrugging off most of the hits to the Neo-steel plate, and continued to heal the marines and firebats, although more were falling now because the medics were forced into immobility by their taking cover.

The goliaths were damaged by the divebombing, but they would mostly survive, although a plattoon was lost to a direct hit from the diving V-Techs, while they still let loose with their hellstorm missile packs, and fired at the approaching V-techs with their twin chainguns.

The siege tanks were lobbing massive balls of plasma towards the approaching enemies, focusing on the stopped infantry units and the damaged Veritechs, while the front ranks continued to soak up losses and pour their 80mm fire into the enemy forces.

The vulture scoutbikes made another appearance now, slashing in from the east to hit the enemy in the flank and lay more spider mines before they retreated, this time they had assaultgun toting stingers( http://scgame.wz.cz/terranunits/ss015.jpg ) with them, and they opened fire at their max rate into the infantry formations, trying to cut through the group instead of hitting and running like the vultures.

This was becoming a very desperate situation for Shinseki....he moved in some of the infantry and tank units from the Northeast and the North to begin putting the pressure on the enemy from those quarters. He encouraged them to move quickly, lest they lose momentum and be trapped by Vulture Spider Mines and Artillery....

The Veritechs were really getting it now, everybody was taking hits and two, maybe five more had to run from the field. Still, they moved in, this time, running low across the field still pouring the fire on. They were doggedly moving forward, still zigzagging like mad and moving as irregularly and quickly as possible to make themselves harder targets.

The moving infantry were hit by the mines, and 50 men died as a result. The Commissars in the formations encouraged them to keep going, mainly by threatening them with summary execution. The Kurosawas moved to help their comrades, and when faced with the Stingers, the Infantry and a group of Kurosawas turned on them with extreme predjudice. Still, a wave of men kept moving in, as more men were encouraged to move forward, and proceeded to pour on more lasgun and 40mm grenade fire at the enemy. The rest of the Kurosawas turned, and began pouring 40mm MG ammo and their railguns at the Medics, as they knew the Marines were probably going to be useless without them.

The light mortars went up, and soon, shells of HE and WP were being lobbed at the enemy Marines and Medics as well.

The Marineskos broke pursuit, the HALO rockets were a shock to them. They began evasive manuevers.

Those that were chasing the Wraiths were switching to proton torpedoes to deal with the new shielding these guys threw up. They had been working at getting a missile lock; they had gotten as they moved in and soon proton torpedoes flew out to meet their prey. Then, they returned to gauss and blaster cannons, to try and soften the enemy up.

Those Marineskos that had divebombed the Goliaths made another run, this time, targeting those that were threatening the Veritechs. They also took the opportunity to hit the Siege Tanks, as well.

Now that the mortars were up there were a good deal more losses in the terran marine forces, they couldn't survive the hits the mortars were sending out, but they kep up their fire at the enemy forces, maybe the stingers could get in and stop the mortars from killing them.

The firebats began to advance, they wre going to take the figtht to the enemy, but first they wee going to finally get a chance to reach out and touch someone, prepping their portable incinerator missile launchers and firing at the mortar positions, before droping te tubes and charging the enemy, flamers going full blast. ( http://scgame.wz.cz/terranunits/firebatghost.jpg )

The stingers were pouring fire into their enemies, and taking alot of fire in return, in fact over 50 of them had been crippled or destroyed, although the drivers of the crippled vehicles continued to fire at the attacking forces.

As the valkyries chased down the fleeing V-Techs they noticed that they were over the enemy formation, so they let loose a modification they had acquired recently, they dropped their MEDUSA cluster bombs, unleashing hellfire and brimstone on the heads of their land bound foes.

The wraiths continued to launch their missiles, although they would soon be out and be forced to leave the field for a reload, they were firing at their max rate, and their shields were down, meaning that when they went to reload they wouldn't all be coming back, in fact three more just dropped out of the sky and slammed into nearby buildings, detonating in a flash of titanic fury.

The siege tanks and goliaths were all taking some pretty heavy fire by now, and they were taking losses at a higher rate than they had expected, which is why one of the Goliath variants was called to the front, like the marines and the firebats they had two distinct purposes, one long ranged and lighter, the other a close in heavy hitter, well the same was true of the goliath and its Hellmaker variant, sporting twin box launcers of 6 incinerator missiles each they were terrible weapons to use against anyone in a V-Tech, being almost like torture for someone in a suit like that, and they sported four flamers like those used by the firebats, along with heavier armor so they could close the gap, but now their only purpose was to roast their opponents alive, firingf a full volley from their launchers(using one launchers worth of missiles) at the advancing Veritechs.

The advancing Infantry formations began to break up into smaller groups, having sustained 50 casualties from the bombing. Still, the Commissars marshaled them together, and they pressed on. The infantry soon began to set up mortars nearby, and snipers in the nearby buildings. Sniper Lasguns soon began singling out Medics and Marines, and firing at them....

The People's Acolytes, meanwhile, were sent up to the lines.

The infantry operating the mortars were toasted by the Firebat rockets. However, as the infantry recovered, the Kurosawas began to pour machine gun fire at the Firebats, and told the infantry to scatter to avoid the explosions. The infantry, meanwhile, moved forth to assault the Marines with everything they had, pouring massive amounts of lasgun fire at the enemy. The newly arrived Acolytes began using Force powers to try and toss the Stingers aside and to try and shock them; barrign that, lightsabers went to work.

New blood was sent to man the mortars by the Commissars, who ensured that the Infantry would keep fighting, under penalty of summary execution.

The Marineskos pressed their advantage, locking on and firing more proton torpedoes on the Wraiths, and following up with a shower of gauss and blaster fire. They moved in quickly, since their shields were down....the Marineskos following the Valkiryes began to chase them doggedly, firing torpedoes at them in much anger.

The Veritechs, sure enough, were stil moving, but with fire all around them, they were really hurting. Six more had fell, the ugly sound of men being roasted in their cockpits broadcasted on the airwaves. The Veritechs fired back with their lasers and gatling guns, though it was apparent that the shots were doing less damage than usual....

..but the Spartas were soon moved around. Half of them began to move near the Goliath Hellraiser, and began launching cannon fire at it.

The first Hellmaker was destroyed, the rest assaulted the positions that had fired on them, each one launching a single missile at the attackers, trying to fry them alive, since it was the best way to use their weapons.

The rest of the goliaths and Siege tanks continued to pour insane amounts of ordinance into the enemy V-Techs, as well as bombarding the assaulting infantries line of advance with the siege mode weapons of the tanks.

A few stingers were tossed aside, but most continued to move and fire, evading the shiocks from their enemies, while they pumped lead towards anything that moved in their line of sight, dealing out insane damage, even as they took a heavy beating from their enemies.

The vultures had returned again, slashing in from the enemies rear this time, launching grenades and deploying a third set of Spider mines as they fell back again.

The SpecOps people now had their work starting up, those snipers would be terminated with extreme prejudice, and an application of explosives to their bodies, they had a few choices for this operation, HE, WP, or their truly nasty Lockdown, which would disable the rifles circuitry, and so it was decided that they would volley fire Lockdown and then HE after them to kill the snipers, or at least disable them.

The Valkyries and Wraiths were dogfighting with their opposition, but the wraiths were retreating now, they had runout of missiles, but the Valkyries fought on, and the Wraiths replacements were on the way, Grizzly Gun-ships( http://scgame.wz.cz/terranunits/ss005.jpg ) which would be on the scene in minutes, and the valkyries could handle themselves for a few minutes.

The marines were also recieving some backup, 100 assault marines( http://scgame.wz.cz/terranunits/assaultmarine.jpg ), with jetpacks and dual heavy machineguns on their powered armor suits were taking to the air and firing on the enemies below them, probably listening to ride of the valkyries over the company frequency to boot.

Now the firebats showed their worth, finally getting in range of their flamethrowers, and letting loose on their attackers, unleashing a stream of superheated pasma at any who were unfortunate enough to block their path.

The Spartas scattered, and soon began moving around, firing more cannon shells at the Hellraisers and the Siege Tanks and Goliaths. One was knocked out, but the rest were still very much moving-and angry.

The snipers knew something was wrong when their guns didn't work. Then, five of them got rendered into tiny bits. A few managed to escape, and began to get new sniper rifles and returned to work, though they remebered to keep on moving after each shot.

The People's Acolytes then began evading and ducking the Stingers, as they fired back. It became a cat and mouse game, as Force lightning and Force Throw, and the odd Lightsaber hit was exchanged with each shot the enemy fired.

The mortars of the newly arrived reinforcements, meanwhile, pumped out a wave of WP rounds to try and silence the enemy Marines and Medics, and a wave of HE rounds to deal with the Siege Tanks and Goliaths inside.

The infantry that was attacked by the Vultures and the Mines suffered 50-100 casualties, and the Commissars had a heck of a time keeping them in line. Some of the Kurosawas from the reinforcing units and new infantry came in to cover their flanks, and began to attack the incoming Firebats with waves of ammo, laser blasts and railgun shot.

Finally, the Veritechs refused to quit under the waves of fire. They simply fell to the ground, and began crawling to their destination, firing back all the way. 300 more Marineskos flew in to begin a dive bombing run on the Siege Tanks and Goliaths, and 300 more then began trying to fire at the assault marines, while the Marineskos already aloft were engaging the incoming Grizzlies with proton torpedoes and blasters, not forgetting to include the Valkiryes in the equation.

The Hellmakers were having trouble with the spartas cannon, they volley fired one more missile each and moved forward to engage with their perdition flamethrowers, while the regular goliaths focused their fire on a single group of marineskos at a time, determined to bring them down through sheer weight of fire.

The three vulture strikes previous to this had been swift, slashing, hit-and-run attacks, now the full vulture contingent attacked from all three sides, cutting a bloody swath of destruction through the tattered remnants of the enemies outer companies as they pounded them with machine gun and grenade fire, they were committed now and would break their enemies rear or die trying.

The Grizzly gunships were heavily armed, dual missile launchers, ATA lasers and ground attack chainguns were their main weapons, and they engaged the marineskos with a vengeance, unloading racks of missiles and firing their burst laser batteries at their max rate, they would crush their opponents with their size and unrivaled firepower.

The stingers were forced to change their tactics, instead of trying to shoot the acolytes they shot at everything else, and tried to run the acolytes over, since it was hard to dodge a speeding jeep.

The first valkyries began to drop from the sky, battered beyond survival they smashed intro the sides of buildings and exploded, showering both sides with shrapnel and debris, but the rest fought on, unloading their missile racks and dropping their final bomb payload as they passed over the enemy forces.

The Ghosts had made their diversion work perfectly, they were now cloaked and inside the building, seeking out the snipers, and in some cases, setting up sniper positions of their own, and reaching out to touch someone in the enemy command structure with their massive canister rifles.

The firebats and assault marines had heavier armor than most marines, and it was shrugging off most of the hits, but forces were still dropping, and the assault marines weren't in position yet to open fire on their foes, but they soon would be, right after the valkyries cleared their path, while the firebats closed and let loose with all of their ordnance, torching everything in sight.

The marines finally had a little breathing space, so they activated their stimpacks, let the medics fix any damage that resulted, and charged aq the enemy, guns going full blast as they followed up on the firebats charge.

To counteract the new kurosawas a dropship squadron was called in to drop its payload of hostile intent, the ten dropships let off a full goliath company, and then sped away, thankfully safe behind their heavier shields, preparing to make a second run.

The combiend Hellraiser and Grizzly attack downed 50 Marineskos. However, the rest went into evasive manuevers, and simply returned fire with proton torpedoes and concussion missiles, something they had been saving for a tough opponent.

The Kurosawas met the new threat by taking cover in nearby buildings, and began to fire at the Goliaths with massed volleys of railgun and machine gun fire.

The Commissars held the Infantry together, beating them back into place and threatenign them with summary execution, and soon, a volley of lasgun and grenade fire met the incoming Vultures. Some rocket launchers came up, and were fired at them, as well. Other Kurosawas and some Acolytes joined in, providing anti-Firebat and anti-Assault Marine support with railgun shots, and Force lightning and throws, and healing for friendly infantry. Severe damage had been done now, 200 men were dead. But they refused to quit.

The snipers soon began firing back at the sources of the sniper fire; it was the best they could do, since the Amethyst Stealth Detectors weren't yet made possible for infantry. Six Commissars and NCOs soon fell, more Commissars came in to hold the line. The mortars simply concentrated on the Medics, the Firebats, and the Marines on the ground, providing cover for their comrades to the point of danger. These infantry and tanks, from the east and north flanks, began pushing inwards further still, pouring fire on all enemies in their path....

The Veritechs soon called in reinforcements; it was obvious that this was not a job they could do on their own. A force of 150 more Veritech Komsomols flew in, and began showering the enemy with 380mm missiles, targeting the Goliaths, who were distracted with hunting the Marineskos, and the Hellraisers. Another 150 flew in and began attacking the Valkiryes and the Grizzlies with cannon, laser, and missile fire, as well.

The Acolytes that weren't occupied with the attacks from the Firebats and the others began to scatter and perform moves that would make Mary Lou Retton blush, as they lept and spiraled over the Stingers, unleashing Force lightning and Force Throw on them.

The Spartas lost 3 tanks, but they kept on harassing the Hellraisers with everything they had, cannons, machine guns, and lasers, while zipping around the streets.

The Hellmakers were running amok among their enemies, torching and destroying anything that stood still longe enough, and quite a few things that didn't, while the valkyries above added their misiles to the hellraisers attacks, as covering fire against the fighter V-Techs.

The new goliath company was fring at its opponents, laying into them with their machine guns, and recieving some pretty heavy counter fire in return for their efforts, as well as firing on the new marineskos with their missiles.

The assault marines and firebats were taking a pounding, but they were dishing it out as well, the assault marines had landed, and now brought their guns into play against the acolytes, picking them out for special attention, as well as laying down a base of fire to help cover the firebats as they cooked anything that got in their path.

The assault marines and firebats were taking a pounding, but they were dishing it out as well, the assault marines had landed, and now brought their guns into play against the acolytes, picking them out for special attention, as well as laying down a base of fire to help cover the firebats as they cooked anything that got in their path.

Four of the Spartas and two more Komsomols charging towards the enemy were taken down, but these forces continued to move and weave in and out and charge at the Hellraisers in a highly irregular pattern, firing back at them every step of the way. The Komsomols in the air fired back at the Valkiryes with laser and cannon fire, having lost five and forced to enter into evasive manuevers.

Ten of the reinforcing Marineskos were downed, but they simply made another pass at the Goliaths with torpedoes and blaster shots. Also, Mortars from the East Side and the rear were ordered to fire upon the Goliaths, to support the Kurosawas, who lost five of their own but retaliated with heavy railgun and machine gun fire. Reinforcing Kurosawa teams moved in from the side, using their jump jets to leap into the thick of battle and firing on the enemy with machine guns all the way.

The Acolytes soon gave their Force powers a workout, leaping about like Spider-Man, and throwing Force Lightning at the enemy Assault Marines and healing those comrades who suffered hits. Some lept into the thick of the Marine lines, and began going to town with their Lightsabers, slashing at the vital parts of the Marine suits.

More Spartas were moved into the melee, and fired upon the Firebats with Machine Guns to aid the Infantry, which had taken massive hits, losing 50 more. Several more Infantry squads were moved up to try and deal with the Firebats, and a rain of laser fire and grenades were fired on them.

Meanwhile, those forces in the East and North pushed forward, firing on the Enemy all the way......

The Marines were in a tight spot they couldn't stop lightsabers with their armor, and the acolytes were dammed hard to hit, they decided on a less than perfect solution, they doubted the acolytes could survive the shock cannons of the emplaced siege tanks any better than they could, so the commanders scratched their backs, calling fire on their own positions, smashing their front lines, but if the front lines were destroyed, then the acolytes must be dead too, and the front wasn't very wide here, meaning they only lost about 100 marines to the siege tanks friendly.

The besieged goliaths were taken under heavy fire from the passing V-Techs, but they returned it with a vengeance, emptying their missile racks into the sky, all 700 odd surviving goliaths launched over 50(each starts with 60, some have fired more, some less, average is 50 missiles left.) missiles into the air, coming to a total of 35000 missiles going after the assaulting V-Techs, and the valkyries followed suit, the 495(each has 120 missiles to shoot off, they've fired quite a few, but ten thousand is about right for what's left) surviving units emptied their HALO launchers, putting over ten thouisand more missiles in the air, the V-Techs were doomed, and just to add insult to injury the Grizzly gunships fired a full Alpha strike, unloading their missile racks and letting their burst lasers run wild as they pounded chain-gun rounds into the ground pounding VTs, their was no hope for the assaulting enemy, they were outgunned, and quantity has a quality all its own.

The firebats were dropping faster now, mostly critical damage tro the suits and not fatalities, but they were losing fire pressure against the enemy forces, they'd have to fall back on the assault marines soon.

The 100 surviving stingers were mostly crippled, or at least badly damaged, they wstill fired at their best rate though, and turned as many enemies into roadkill as they could run over, dealing out their hurt and taking a beating in return, while the three converging vulture units blasted out grenades and chaingun fire into the tightly packed ranks of the enemy formations.

The hellmakers were in a spot of trouble, but they had a solution, they emptied their missile racks into the enemies engaging the goliath companies holding the line alongside the siegetanks, while still training their flamthrowers on the approaching V-Techs.

The Ghosts were still firing away at the enemy commanders, and they switched their fire to the mortar teams as well, seeing the devestation they were wreaking on the assaulting marines and the reaeer goliaths, they even added a few rifle grenades to the mix, sending the HE bombs into the center of a mortar team whenever possible, and especially aiming for the ammunition.
