Assassin-As-Assassin

Location: a small penal island within the Hawaiian Islands chain, home to almost 60’000 dangerous criminals.
In a small hut on the outskirts of the main settlement, five men sat in darkness, waiting. They had swum to shore only two days ago, but their mission had been clear and their deadlines tight. The Hawaiian Islands government had contacted Assassin-as-Assassin for help in “depopulating their overcrowded penal system” to be euphemistic. Five men alone were no match for 50000 convicts, and indeed, their client had been most incredulous when they learned of the size of their taskforce. However, an assassin is more than weapons and violence. With the help of detailed maps provided by the Hawaiian Islands’ government, the men had quickly located the two sole sources of fresh drinking water for the entire island, from which water was pumped to every residence on the island. It took even less time to drop a parcel the size of their fist into each facility. The contaminated water would take only a matter of hours to spread throughout the island, and while it would not kill those that drank it immediately, continued exposure would render them dead or seriously ill in less than two days.
The two days had passed. And the men had waiting long enough. They emerged from the darkness of their hideout, and strode resolutely into the town. Bodies were strewn everywhere: most were still, and those that were not soon were as a blaze of bullets rained down upon the streets. The sound of gunfire could be heard for hours, and when it stopped, five men walked to the shore and boarded a small coast guard vessel. Behind them, the now silent city became engulfed with billowing black smoke as large flames began to consume the buildings. The boat sped off.
Success! The islanders had been eliminated, and even if stray individuals survived, the lack of water and shelter cemented their fate. The five men had just earned their country 300 billion dollars, and guaranteed themselves a seat on the government’s High Council.
