Mu 1, excellant, the prototype is working superbly. Enter hyperspace, and return to base.'

'Confirmed, heading for home'

The pilot engaged the hyperdrive, almost immediately came the error from the computer.

'Hyperdrive error, disengage!'

The pilot attmepted to do so.

'Mu 1, is there a problem?'

'The hyperdrive is out of control...'

'Disengage man...'

The advanced Missile boat accelerated out of transmission range. The pilot checked the computer readings.

What the hell, the hyperdrive is being over supplied with power... either it'll burn itself out or...

He looked out of the front of the fighter. He saw a planet straight ahead. At the speed he was going, he knew it was too late to change course,a dn switch off the hyperdrive. He did what he could, put the sheilds max front.

The computer yelled another warning. 'Current course not suitible for orbit change cou...'

The pilot heard nothing else. He had crashed, and killed in the impact...

Harbour Town -Jordaxian Archipelago

Petty officer Sanderton had been assigned to monitor coverage coming in from the Jordaxian radar systems dotted around and about the archipelago. Normally such a duty was boring in the extreme, but when an unusually large reading came in at enormous speeds, and disappeared off of the radar almost as quickly, chaos broke loose all of the Harbour town naval facility. Whatever it was had disappeared off of the radar close to an old facility in the south East corner of the Empire, one of the larger uninhabited islands, covered in tropical forest. Several men and women of the JIRC (Jordaxian infiltration and recce corps) had been dispatched almost immediately to the scene. From far off, the destruction was easy to see.

Aboard the IJN Gremlin, 4 miles from impact site
Private Juliet and Private Peterson were standing on the bow of the Gremlin, gazing through a pair of high-powered binoculars each. A blackened crater was etched into the side of a mountain, with smoke pluming from the centre. on the outskirts of the crater, the forest blazed tremendously, creating even more smoke, spiralling into the atmosphere. With all of that, they couldn't even begin to see what had made the crater, which is why they were about to be kitted up in NBC suits to check it out. Juliet let go of her binoculars, allowing them to rest from her neck. she faced Peterson, who was still gazing at the impact site.

Does anyone have any idea what the hell caused that yet? she asked?
Apparently, space agency staff thought it was a meteor at first, but it was moving at entirely the wrong speed, and the crater isn't large enough. if that was a meteor, we'd have felt it by now. There's the possibility that it might be an old satellite that somehow managed to make it down here without burning up, but the odds on that were slim... that's why we have to go in and find out.

Juliet nodded, before turning round and walking back inside the Gremlin. A few moments later, Peterson took the binoculars from his eyes, and followed on.

Impact site

The burnt Earth of the crash site let out a horrible stench, which both Juliet and Peterson, thanks to their NBC suits, could not smell. Waves of heat distorted the air all around them as the smoke continued to churn up into the atmosphere, the entire area felt like it was on another planet. On their backs were two large Jordaxian assault rifles, bulky yet powerful. Juliet carried a geiger counter in her right hand, which was crackling away as they hiked up the hill. The intense heat of the fires around them, and the confinement of the protective suits ensured that they were sweating profusely, and incredibly uncomfortable, as they approached the site. Whilst the smoke from it had died down, whatever lay inside was unseen behind the lip of the crater. Grabbing onto whatever secure rock they could find, they scrabbled up the side, kicking down dark dust. Juliet reached the peak first, managing to get her face just over the lip whilst Peterson was trying to rake away enough of the unstable dust to get a grip on the tip. What she seen was the mangled wreck of some completely unknown object. A real life UFO. Her eyes widened, and her breathing quickened.

Peterson... you might want to hurry up and see this. Panic was evident in her voice.
Finally managing to get his grip, Peterson peered over the edge.
oh. was all he could manage.

After what seemed like several hours, the captain of the Gremlin contacted them through the radio.

Juliet, Peterson... what have you found there, over?
Er...., Juliet stumbled It seems to be some kind of... flying saucer...

Could you repeat that? the Captain asked.

The target is an unidentified flying object, captain. Juliet responded.

Oh...

After numerous military helicopters were drafted in to put out the fire, a perimeter was established by the JIRC and Jordaxian Imperial Marines around the site. Large fences and sandbag walls were piled up around the crater, and machinegun nests quickly established. The investigation of the crash site, named Kansas by the top brass, would begin immediately.

Meanwhile, many lightyears away

'...And thats what happened.'

The officer paused for a moment, concerned about the possibility of the Advanced missile boat being stolen, and concenr for the pilot.

'Can we trace it?'

'Yes sir, it left a nice trail through hyperspace.'

'Excellant. Begin immediately. I want a fleet ready, with plenty of troops... I'm not sure what to expect...'

At the crash site

The Tangled wreck of the missile boat was easy to see now. Most of the rear was completely destroyed upon impact, however, the front was mostly undamaged, only the glass had been damaged.

A few missiles and torpedoes had survived the impact, and a trail of blood could be seen in the cockpit... leading deep into the forest...

Im 90% MT(starships, but other then that, everythings pretty much MT), so we could say my troops land at the crash site and try to barter for the crashed ship, to increase their military power, or something. If i cant, hey thats OK, im just throwing some ideas out there.

(OOC: super-sorry for the late reply, I've been out and about the entire day, I hadn't forgotten about this. Regarding the other person... I'm not sure, it's impossible that my gov't would allow you to wander right inside my territory to a super-secret investigation (my people are in the dark about this "happening"), and less possible that they'd allow you to BUY an alien vessel. it's not our habit to give away priceless technology to allow someone else an advantage. As another aside, everyone in the JIRC has the rank of Private, but vast leverage over the rest of the armed forces, such as the ability to requisition the use of ANY soldiers/vessels/aircraft for their mission. Back to the IC.)

as Peterson examined the interior systems of the craft, Juliet was on the trail of blood through lush Jordaxian rainforest. It didn't take too long, once the perimeter was set up, to notice the suspicious path leading into the dark, and Juliet, as one of the best jungle trackers, was sent in to recover the corpse, or apprehend whatever had made the mess. It wasn't particularly heavy going, as whatever was bleeding had followed the path of least resistance, and even in its weakened state, could scramble its way through the foliage. Juliet, with the years of experience, and equipment to match, felt it was more like a stroll than a rainforest voyage. Ahead, there was a small clearing that the evening sun poured into.

Inside the craft, nick-named "Mother Goose" shortly after the perimeter was in place, Peterson was carrying out an inventory of sorts. Several components could be worryingly identified -worrying because they were identified as weapons- and were removed sharply, placed aboard the Gremlin. Other pieces of equipment were photographed before they too were removed, unless they were tied down. It was impossible to say for sure what done what, exactly, and things that may be connected to the remains of the ship were too dangerous to touch. There was remarkably little for Peterson to do, he mused... who would expect that an UFO would be so.... boring to examine.

(OOC again: apologies for the over-short length but I had little to say, or do. I'll probably include more of the governmental aspect of this next time, but it's 10 past midnight, not optimum writing time for me. For Juliet, if you have something that this blood-trail leads to, introduce it in your next post, and I'll respond accordingly.)

'How long until we enter hyperspace?'

'A few seconds sir!'

'How far did the Advanced missile boat go?'

'I'm not sure... A few days journey, or even a few weeks!'

'Let's go.'

With that, the fleet entered hyperspace.

OOC: You have 12 days until they arrive.

IC: At the end of the bloody trail lay the pilot. Dead. Killed on impact. He was through clear after the crash, and rolled down into the forest...

OOC: You will find in the what's left of the ship, two laser cannons, a few 'Projectiles' and the main computer.

Everything else is just bits of scrap.

The City of Chambers, the capital city of the Jordaxian Empire was busier than usual. A peculiar city, its primary use was to store the archives and records of the Empire, an administrative centre. It only had one permanent resident, according to tradition, the King-Emperor himself. Whilst not the holder of any true power, long ago having handed superiority to parliament, as a politically minded person, he often sat in on "closed" cabinet discussions, and other matters of security. Inside the central halls, the assembled heads of the armed forces, and other influential Jordaxians gathered to discuss what they would do with the alien vessel.

The room itself was gracefully decorated, a long rectangular table with tall-backed chairs flanking it. At one end, the Emperor sat, at the other, the seat was empty. People in various military uniforms and official suits sat, discussing between themselves. The Prime Minister was absent - not conspicuously, he was not invited and had no idea of the meeting - to allow more freedom of discussion. The Prime Minister was notoriously open to the public, a trait which had not endeared him to the party, or the civil service, but made him a popular leader. Amongst the people present, Commodore Gabriel Williams of the Jordaxian navy, and Private Thomas of the Jordaxian Infiltration and Recce corps were speaking to each other amid the numerous other conversations.

Tell me, Thomas. Williams said, quietly, but eerily clear to Thomas. This ship that you lead the perimeter guard of. Does it bear the markings of anyone we're aware of, or is it truly foreign?

From what we have learned so far, Commodore, there are no identity markings on the vessel. Whether there may have been some on the rear of the ship, which has been destroyed entirely, we can't say. Currently, I have a man investigating the interior, so far he has found remarkably little. Items that look remarkably like weapons have been removed and inventoried, as well as what appears to be the computer. We'll be trying to activate that shortly. The rest is scrap, but will be taken to the lab for analysis. The craft itself has been concealed under a canopy to prevent easy detection from the air, but the large crater will still be telling. was Thomas' response.

Hmm... any survivors to the crash that we can question?

Possibly. I currently have another soldier scouring the forest looking for anyone, but I haven't heard back from her yet. She's scheduled to report in a few hours, I can have the answer sent to you then.

There's no need, Private. I will be joining you with my ship to keep watch from the sea. I will handle the public, also. There is no need to worry about their becoming overly inquisitive. Williams said.

You'll be bringing the "Tartaros", sir?

Yes. Like I said, I'll be handling the public, so you don't need to worry about their perceptions of the flagship being present.

Very Well, Commodore.

Impact site - local Jungle surrounding

In the clearing, a corpse was lying crumpled against a tree, a pool of blood around him, blackened and staining the grass nearby. Juliet grimaced momentarily at the grim sight, but quickly composed herself. It was far from the first body she had seen, but usually they were in slightly better condition. Lacerated, bloody and disfigured, the corpse was a particularly morbid sight. Knowing what she had to do, however, she picked the corpse up and slung it over her shoulder, tracing the bloody path back to the impact site.

8 days later

The Tartaros (http://www.bateshome.com/jordan/wigship2.jpg), an Ekranoplan battleship, cruised into the vicinity of the crash site. Lowering its speed gradually, it descended into the water around it. The sudden displacement of the water sent plumes of it into the air as it splashed back down again. Commodore Williams watched from the bridge as the water cleared away, showing the crash site, troops marching around the perimeter. There was still no port, artificial or natural, for the Tartaros to dock on the island, so ordered a small power-dinghy to be prepared for him. Around the crater, prefab structures had popped up with tiny power generators about them. men carried bags of food and other supplies about - it seemed as if the more permanent installations had arrived only moments before Williams had.

Informed by a returning crewman that his boat had been prepared, he headed down to it, and to the island.

"Sir, we just spotted something, traveling at massive speeds. It was about 98% of light speed when we saw it, The only reason our radar caught it was because we happened to be moving in the same direction the object was
going. It was there and gone in under a second."

"SIR!" that was the long-range sensor operator. "Whatever it was just slammed into that planet. Hard."

The Commodore thought. This could be something big. Something the Emporer would reward him for.
"Set a course for the planet. I want DropShip Six loaded and ready for drop in ten minutes. Oh, and sound Battle Stations." As the Klaxon rang out, Peterson smiled. this could be big

IC:the NMSS LightBringer slipped into orbit over the planet. Its lower bay opened, and a lone ship slipped out. it fell twords the planet, eventually entering the atmosphere. a sonic boom could be heard as it decended, decelerating at the last second, and touching down in a clearing, not 100 feet from the crashed ship. As water jets poured out water to cool the ship and the landing site, a hatch opened on the side. A lone man stepped oue, dressed in armor not unlike the armor from Starship Troopers and carrying what looked like an M16 with a 2in wide barred.

(damnit... Sorry again about this. Things have been busy for me... this will most likely still be going by monday. Then things will be a lot smoother. This'll be a fairly short reply, because of my being busy. I hate it when this happens.)

Impact site

The perimeter guard were shocked, to put it lightly, at the arrival of a second vessel, somewhat more intact, right next to their landing zone. Its sudden arrival was accompanied by a fortunately quick recovery, however. The men and women protecting the site were of the JIRC, a unit trained from birth not to allow their emotions to affect their ability to fight. A different culture, perhaps, but a very Spartan society. When the pod opened and a soldier walked out, pithy greeting in toe, he was greeted by 200 heavily armed Jordaxians. Commodore Williams was nowhere to be seen, however.

Taking the initiative, Juliet walked out to the man, dressed in highly visible combat armour. The heat of the place would boil him alive if he didn't remove it soon enough, she mused. Speaking in a loud, yet authoratively calm voice, she said

You are tresspassing on Jordaxian territory, State your business and go.

Whilst this was happening, Commodore Williams had commanded a single soldier of the JIRC to accompany him into the jungle. Once they were sufficiently concealed, he said
Strip.
The return was a single arched eyebrow. Whilst trained for war, they were not briefed on how to answer propositions like this from a naval officer.
What...........sir?
Williams sighed. the soldier was obviously less intelligent than he gave the JIRC credit for.
Look at me, soldier. I am quite obviously the ranking office in this baking rathole. They have dropped from the sky quite suddenly, on top of an alien artifact. Do you think they might want to talk to me? perhaps even eliminate me if I am unco-operative? Think about it. You shall be my decoy. I will communicate to you through your internal radio*. Speak exactly what I tell you to without hesitation. Now strip. The command was unusually sourly spoken for Williams, as time was off the essence.

The JIRC soldier quickly took off his uniform as Williams done the same. They proceeded to place the others on. Fortunately a perfect fit.

Now, Commodore, go out, and talk with them.

Obediently, the replacement Commodore ran back into the clearing, slowing as he done so to a confident stride. He was a fool, but he could act at least competantly, thought Williams.

(NM, act as if "Williams" arrives just after you have answered Juliet, and I'll take it from there. Apologies for the fairly... poor response.)

...well, this is a bit of a bind. The Prime Minister had been watching the news when the broadcast came through. He had no knowledge of such a vessel. What was he to do? No. It was some vast nationwide prank. Hackers, that was it, had hijacked the airwaves for a huge joke. The kind of thing that would fuel conspiracy theorists for years. Bloody inconvenient of them.

Picking up a small telephone, he was straight through to his secretary in the other room.

You wouldn't mind fetching Ross and Emma, would you? Ross and Emma were the ministers for the department of War, and the Information office. They would know what needed to be done.

A few minutes later, there was a knock at the door, and they both entered, Ross behind Emma. Taking two seats in front of the PM's desk, Ross sat calmly, whilst Emma was more obviously agitated. As the information minister, the fact that the public knew something was very detrimental to her career.

Going on the offensive, the PM faced Emma, and said

As I'm sure you know, a very unfortunate situation has arose. A group of... as yet un-named and unknown hackers and miscreants momentarily hijacked the airwaves, impersonating "aliens from another world." Undoubtedly, this will make the masses very uneasy, implications that we're hiding information, etc. It's bad for the opinion polls. So tell me. What are we going to do about it?

....That was it, thought Emma. Hackers! it was such an obvious excuse!.

[i]Well, Prime Minister, our first step should be to get you on stage, making a statement about these people, perhaps a quick joke about how they've obviously got too much time on their hands... don't take it seriously at all. she said.

Seems reasonable. And what will you be doing, Ross, to assure the people that even if aliens existed, we're well protected?

Well, I'd have to have a quick talk to the military people, but I think some big wargame set around one of the south-eastern islands would show that we still value our armed forces. Lowest common denominator stuff, but only cynics say stuff like that, so it all works from our end.

Excellent. Emma, if you could go make the necessary arrangements? I won't need a script for this I think, showing that I'm as in the dark about "alien invaders" as the rest of the people should be sufficiently convincing that they don't exist. I'll be in the studio in twenty minutes.

Of course, Prime Minister.

Since there was nothing more to say, Ross and Emma got up and left. The Prime minister simply went back to his newspapers.

In Harbour town military base, activity was at an all time high. Aliens most certainly did exist... and it seemed they wanted their toys back. Since the crash, virtually the entire interior of the craft, everything that wasn't bolted down - and everything that was - had been removed, inventoried, and sent to Oracle isle. All that was left of the crash site was a garrison guard soon to be removed once the shell was transported to Oracle, and a husk of an interstellar vessel. Whatever happened, it would be no simple matter to arrange replacement. it was difficult to get to Oracle, and certainly nothing could be diverted for at least a week which had sufficient capacity to hold all that was stockpiled. The shallow waters, lack of airstrip or helipads, meant that it took specialist ships to access the area.

On one of the walls of a large computer room, there was a large display. On it was a map of the Jordaxian archipelago, along with hundreds of little dots, representing military vessels. Near the crash site, there seemed to be a convergance point... the isles near it had Tartaros vessels, Orca Ekranoplan frigates... even the odd Hippocampus ASW WIGcraft. Whilst more traditional wet water navy vessels were on the way, they were slow compared to the Ekranoplans. Only a single, small carrier had arrived, a very light vessel with barely 20 helicopters stored on board. Their orders were simple. Cover the landing zone, and open fire on all unauthorised vessels that arrived with obviously hostile intent.

The minister of the Department for war, Ross Alby, sent the following message to the Mole ships, being careful to keep it as hidden as possible.

Admiral Thrawn. Your vessel has been salvaged by the Empire, it's crew are dead, from impact. The rest has been claimed. Whilst we do not seek "aggressive relations", the interior of the vessel, all that may be important to you, has been stored in a secure location, and we will be unable to retrieve it for several days. This cannot be worked around.

Ross Alby.

I'm afraid that we couldn't possibly sell you anything of any value, even if we desired to. The entire vessel has been stripped bare. There is nothing of any worth left on that wreck. Indeed, as it stands, it is only being removed to prevent the public from getting the wrong idea. was "Commodore" Williams response, hearing the statement from the visitors.

As for our visitors, I have no doubt that they will negotiate for a fair return of their goods. I would recommend taking any desire for their artifacts to them.

The fake commodore was slightly nervous in his statement, awaiting the response of the aliens. They seemed somewhat heavily armed. Unease and heavy weaponry was rarely a good combination.

Losfield Town, Southern Jordaxia

There was widespread panic as the alien vessels fired the first shots of the war. Explosions shot up into the air, bright orange, dominating the sky. People jammed into the rush hour gridlocks fled their cars and ran towards the tunnels that connected the inhabited isles together. Screams of terror and loss as their houses exploded almost in front of them as part of some alien show of force. In the town centre, a fierce fire was being fought by the shellshocked fire service, trying to put out a fire in the lobby of a tower block that broke out when a fuel truck smashed into it. Smoke was pluming out of the smashed windows, and the wails of survivors trapped inside could be faintly heard above the destruction. All the while, the ships above added to the gathering inferno. Losfield was a small town, it only had a few high-rise buildings, now clearly burning. To add to it, in the chaos, opportunistic looters had raided stores across the town, stealing electronics, basic appliances, and whatever they could get their hands on. As for the hospital, it lay curiously untouched, but with a seemingly unending flow of refugees, walking wounded, and ambulances that had run the gauntlet of the city to rescue the injured. When the enemy finally retreated, some indistinct time later, huge portions of the town had been levelled. Thousands had been made homeless, whether they realised it or not, though the eventual death toll was far less than the damage would indicate. It made it clear enough though. They certainly weren't just hackers.

An urgent press conference had been called once news of the attack had reached the capital. It was held on one of the hundreds of airships that Jordaxia used for mass transit across the archipelago - a show of confidence that Jordaxians did not need to hide from the mysterious force attacking them. This airship was particularly massive. 500 metres from bow to stern, and 90 metres wide. The press conference took place in one of the gondolas, hanging gracefully from the ship as it sailed above the capital. The noise of the reporters eager to ask their questions to the prime minister would have drowned him out without his microphone.

Prime minister, why have these "aliens" attacked us? Surely there must be a reason for this? It was the most obvious question, and the one the prime minister answered first.

At this moment, I have no information about what it is they want. However, in light of this barbaric attack, it seems more likely that instead of hackers, we were dealing with an alien force all along. They mentioned to us a vessel which had crashed here. I am totally unaware of such a ship arriving anywhere on Jordaxia, and news like that, I would imagine would be something I would be made aware of at the earliest opportunity. As such, I believe that they have made some kind of error. There is no ship here.

What do you intend to do if they continue to attack us?

should these attacks continue, we shall resist to the limits of our strength. I have no doubt in the strength of the Jordaxian army, and it's air force and navy. They have protected us from invasion before, and they shall do so again.

Do we have any idea where they come from?

At this moment, none at all. We have intelligence teams working on this as we speak, and we will have the answer shortly.

(OOC: time shortages for now. Will round off this post if it requires it - if not, these are the important questions, consider them the highlights)

Jacowitz looked at his wrist chronometer. It had been about 57 minutes since the threat had been made. He glnced to the soldiers behind him, and they gave him a thumbs up, indicating the StA Plas-Lite Cannon was ready. He smiled. Suddenly, his smile dissapeared as he heard a low whine in the distance. He squinted, and saw a small group of fighters moving rapidly twords their position. The threat was now an action.

(OOC: *chokes* Oh dear. My.... bad?)

The fighter wave shot over the island, startling every Jordaxian there significantly. The fighter pilots would have seen the utterly empty wreck flanked by infantry, and what seemed to be a stand-off occuring roughly one hundred feet in front. In the see, the Tartaros would be floating, surrounded by a few similar looking vessels. Further out, twenty or so further Orca frigate encircled them dotted by the Hippocampus ASW ships. If they had been paying very careful attention they would see the Tartaros AA weapons tracking them, grey boxes on the extreme sides of the odd-shaped vessel. The aircraft shot on, and it was doubtful that anybody could predict what would happen.

Wow... a post!!!! :D

IC: The fighters detected the AA guns locking onto them, but ignored them.

'Don't worry, far to far away to get any accurate hits in'

The fighters were now within scanning range of the crash site, and scanned the wreckege.

'Flight group beta, the wreckege has been stripped already. Destroy it'

'Aye. 2 and 3 head home, I'll destroy the target.'

'Yes sir!'

The Hyper fighter, also within torpedoe range launched 1 blue torpedoe towards the target. It streak forward with accuracy and high speed...

(OOC: not knowing roughly how big (not yields or anything, just a rough guesstimate of power) this torpie is, I'm going to assume it's enough to thoroughly destroy the ship, but not much more... if it's more than that, just ask me to correct it.)

The torpedo easily cruised by all the antimissile defense systems, unprepared as they were for the attack. Striking the alien vessel, it erupted in flames, debris flying at random angles, with deadly speed. Unfortunately for a few JIRC soldiers who had sought cover within the boat, they were killed instantly, the rest, however, dropped onto the ground, covering their heads from any glancing debris. A few were caught by shards, gaining gushing lacerations for their trouble, though most remained unhurt but dusty.

The real Commodore Williams, being quite far from the alien ships vicinity heard the explosion, and was fully aware of what had caused it. Flicking his radio to another channel, this one in contact with the Tartaros, he gave a succinct order to it.

This is Commodore Williams. From this moment on, any unidentified targets are to be shot on sight. I want you to keep a close eye on the craft that just eliminated the alien ship, and find out where they're going. If they return, bring them down. Williams out.

Jacowitz looked up from his position on the ground. The alien craft was in flames, the other craft was almost directly overhead. Jacowitz looked behind to his AA-Plaz-Lite operator. "Fire at will! Take them down!"
The AA-Plas-Lite cannon began firing on the ships above them. Jacowitz looked to the rest of his squad. "Guard the AA! Dont let him be hit"

"Copy that Captain. we've already called for another destroyer so if they attack we can put up a decent fight. HQ is sending Pike-Bearer"

'Admiral, our mission was a partial success. Alpha squadron laid waste to the city, but beta squadron reports that most of the advanced missile boat has been removed.'

'That could pose a problem... What about these other aliens?''

'They attacked beta 1, but he was able to escape with only some sheild damage.'

'We should consider them hostile. They will probably want the advanced missile tech for themselves... Watch their movements, and prepare for an attack from them.''

Communique to foreign vessels.

On behalf of the people of Jordaxia, the Prime Minister would like to inform those responsible for the attack on Losfield that their crimes will not go un-noticed. Whilst previously a peaceful settlement was attempted, neither the people nor government have any further desire for such, until a time has passed where it is felt suitable to recommence any negotiations.

As this was broadcast up to the foreign vessels, there was the tinge of trepidation, the thought that perhaps they should have not said that - after all - the reports from Losfield hadn't filtered down entirely yet, who knows what kind of power these aliens could be able to project if they chose to. But the public, immediately frenzied by tabloids, news reports and that understated, yet potent pride of self, had demanded the course of action.

And, rationalised the Prime Minister, The public cannot blame me for enacting their wishes, surely?

"the computer system has been reporting weapons systems tracking across our hull for about twenty minutes now. you know we cant raise the sheilds until you get back to the ship."
Jacowitz swore under his breath. "Ok. ill do an emergency launch now. how lonk till pike-bearer shows up?"
"about twenty minutes."
"ill be up in ten."
Jacowitz closed the shuttle hatch and ran to the cockpit. looking at the pilot, "Emergency Launch, NOW."

the ship shuddered as massive weapons fire pored into its sheilds
"Sir! We've lost foreward sheilds! Damage control says damage in sector 7A. Airlock failed, so we've lost 7B and C too."
"Commander! We've lost turrets 72 thru 102!"
"Sir, fighter squadren 1 is completley lost!"

the commander looked around. The ship was going down soon, that wasnt a question. The question was how many enemies it could take down with it.

"broadcast this on the ship-net. Attention all crew. Evacuate all sectors. Proceed to the nearest emergency pod. end broadcast. Broadcast this to engineering. Set reactor to phase 6. then get out. end broadcast."
the commander looked aroun. "Bridge crew evacuate. now."

'Thank you, continuefiring!'

'Aye sir, Sir!A ship has evacuated, and is making what looks like a sucide run on us!'

'Get missile boats on it!!!!!'

'Aye sir!'

The 15 Missile boats launched a devastering torpedoe barrage on the incoming Pike bearer

The 42 hyper fighters began their torpedoe barrage on a larger, less damage ship. It was as heavy as the one on the Pike bearer but still serious.

Whilst the 21 Giga fighters picked an idividual target fighter (If you have less than 21 left, then some double up) and launched an advance concussion missile at their target....

However,' Alert. This is Advanced corvette Ranger 3. Our sheilds are down. Requesting immediate assistance.'

The missile barage ripped throught the pike-bearer. The ship moved even slower, though the commander comtinued to direct it, protected deep in the ships core.
Two minutes to overload!

Outside the pike-bearer

the fighters attempted to dodge the missiles. of the 30 fighters seft, only 12 escaped, 4 with massive damage.
The Dark Sword continued to hold with 23% sheilds, and continued fireing on the enemy ships. a screen in on the bridge read: four minutes until reinforcements.

'Sheilds holding at 30%'

The Fleet swung round, and began to move awayfrom thePike bearer. The damage enflicted upon it meanin the fleet could easily out run it, that is apart form the Interdictors.

Meanwhile

The Hyper fighters and missile boats engaged the Pike bearer with their turbo laser and normal laser cannons respectively. When they were throught with this attack they would come back with another torpedo run...

Meanwhile

'Giga figther alpha, this is Modified corvette Ranger. We are attempting to disengage from the fighters. They are all yours!'

'Confirmed Ranger.'

'Lucky hunting Alpha'

'Ok Alpha group. 16 left. I have numbered them using my computer. Engage your opposite number. Alpha 17-21, you can attack freely. But watch our backs.'

OoC: seems ok to me. although, to be exact, there are 8 undamage fighters, and 4 crippled ones, for a total of 12. i probably should have clarified that.

IC:The Commander of Pike-Bearer watched as the timer ticked down. although the enemy was retreating from his ship, there were still a few fighters and one larger ship in the blast radius. the timer counted ever lower:

00:00:05...
00:00:04...
00:00:03...
00:00:02...
00:00:01...

The core overloaded. pike-bearer blew outward in a cloud of debris and flames. though the flames burned out without oxygen, the debris feild expanded past the initial radius and shot like glistening daggers twords the enemy ships.

Onboard the Dark Sword
"Commander. Reinforcements in two minutes!"
"We're down to 5 fighters!"
"Sheilds down to 12%"
The Commander looked around the bridge. it was entirely likley that in two minutes they would be dead. He issued an order. "Broadcast this to engineering: Run Program Turtle Shell"

as the order reached engineering, every weapon onboard Dark Sword lost power. the lights onboard dimmed to emergency levels, and two out of every three computer consoles went dark. The commander looked at one of his troops expectantly.

"Sheilds holding at 42% sir. no weapons or shift capabilities. we better hope those reinforcements show up on time."

'Sir?'

'Where?'

'Out of this system. We are too few in number to take on much more than what's already here.'

'What about the Red claw? Her hyperdrive is out.'

The Admiral whinced. He wouldn'tlike to leave the interdictor and her crew behind, but he knew he couldn't stay.

'Do they have a spare onboard?'

'Negative'

'Transfer ours across. They modify our spare.'

'Sir, that'll take 15 minutes to complete...they'll take 20 minutesto join us.'

'Do it. We can't abandon the interdictor.'

The Admiral then broadcasted his orders.

'Attention all Mole craft. We are about to retreat to a safer system. However, the Interdictor red claw can not join us. Therefore, Corvette Ranger, you must defend her whilst our spare hyperdrive is transferred and fitted. Therestofthefleet, enter hyperspace ASAP.

Missile boat tau, continue attacking enemystarships,Hyper fighter beta as well, until your payload is out. Then help Figa fighter Alpha in attacking enemy fighters, that threaten capital ships.'

The orders were carried out.The Misisle boats and hyperfighters began another torpedoe barrage on the Dark Sword, Whilst the GigaFighters continued attacking the enemy fighters, whilst taking little damage themselves.

Corvette ranger moved alonside the Red claw.

'Another thing, If you suffer 33% loses, retreat!'
