OOC: This is the screeen of the JPKW.1M, meaning that I want you to critisize it until its the way we want it. M'kay, I don't need advice on anything else, just this armoured vehicle. Thank you for your help.

Titan Armour Corporation

Presenting: The Jagerpanzerkampfwagen 1 Mercenary [JPKW.1M]

Production Faculties:

Titan Armour Corporation, the largest corporate entity in Afrika, has more factories, research centers, and testing systems and bases than some nations. Titan Armour Corp. is ready to produce the JPKW.1ME Export edition in large amounts. Having already produced 50,000 in only one year for the Afrikaan Oustwehr. The factories are completely automated and are manned by nearly thousands of people for mainttanence, inspection and product testing. The products before being shipped are rigously tested. If a certain tank fails inspection, they will ship the tank to the scrap for reconstituion as spare parts. The computers are tested and tested over and over again. If your nation speaks another language there are language packs availble with each order to translate the computer systems to your nations language. All in all there are enough faculties to produce the tanks in large amounts with the same exact performance.

Chassis:

The chassis of the JPKW.1M was researched at the Advance Combat Lab[ACL]. The Bore chassis is a big improvement over other chassis. The chassis is able to be configured in many ways. The chassis has certain interchangeable production modules. The configure ment for the Bore in the Mercenary was simple. A forward mounted engine, tracks, rear blast door, large turret, and heavy armour. This created a stiffened chassis system with engine mounts in the front and a track gears and a large back open door. This configuration is similar to IFVs but, it is extremely different. The shocks and suspensions have been stiffen to maintain the weight of the armour. The frame made of a carbon allotrope composite with alluminum and steel is quite durable. The chassis is so strong that it can maintain 100 tons before even seeing standard wear of the suspension and frame. The frame has built in firewalls, around the engine compartment, made of tungsten coated in steel, with a carbon casing, making it nearly impervious to fire from the engine. The chassis has one major advantage over other systems, its weight. The chassis weighs 25% less than the chassis used in the Leopard 2, and Abrams.

Modules:

There are four availble modules for the Mercenary the Amoured Missile Pod System[AMPS], and the Rear Mounted Missile System[RMMS]. Each system is designed to fire rocket or missile weaponary for additional support. The other two systems are the Armoured Covering System[ACS] or a "tank cover", and the Magnetic Pulse Firing[ MPF] a module which replaces the standard firing of the main gun. Each module is described below.

The AMPS is a a two part module. One for each side of the turret of the tank. Each part of the module can carry: 4 AGW or 2 ATW or 1 LOSATW or 5 ARS. The AGW or Advanced Grenade Weapon, carrys 10 metal-rain grenades in each firing missile. The ATW or Anti-Tank Weapon[TOW,HOT,HELLFIRE,ETC] is a fire and forget missile which can penetrate nearly 750MM of armour[RHA]. The LOSAT or LOSATW is a kinetic energy kill[KEK] weapon, which means you must point at your target, and let the piercing shell do the damage, can destroy up to 1500MM[RHA]. The ARS or Advaned Rocket System is a single rocket equipped with a tungsten tip to destroy enemy vehicles. The rocket can penetrate nearly 1000MM[RHA] of armour depending on type. The AMPS can move up or down 45 degrees and can move in or out from the back 1-45 degrees.

The RMMS is a single part module similar to the AMPS. The RMMS can carry two different weapons. It can carry either 10 AGW or 10 ARS. The AGW or Advanced Grenade Weapon, carrys 10 metal-rain grenades in each firing missile. The ARS or Advaned Rocket System is a single rocket equipped with a tungsten tip to destroy enemy vehicles. The rocket can penetrate nearly 1000MM[RHA] of armour depending on type. This creates a powerful package of either 10 rockets or 100 grenades. This system is designed to fire up to an 89 degree angle and fire as low as a 1 degree angle providing support infront of the tank or far beyond the tank. The RMMS can pivot a complete circle[360].

The ACS or "tank cover" is a simple tool made of light but effective armour such as ceramics and titanium, mixed with alluminum and a carbon allotrope. This keeps the cover very light, but is still able to take some hits. The cover is rated ~ 300MM[RHA-Kinetic] and ~ 900[RHA-Heat]. The only point of this cover is not to stop projects, but to slow or remove the effectiveness of certain top hitting weapons. It has a few handy benefits, the cover can provide shade for the crew of the tank when in hot sunny days, preventing sun burn and other injuries.

The final module the Magnetic Pulse Firing[MPF] is used to spin the projectiles around in the barrel thanks to large battery power magnets on the out side of the barrel. The computers control when each magnetic is turned on causing the flying projectile to spin. The computers for this system are tiemd down to the nanosecond, and even lower to spin the projectile effectively. This increses accuracy even more, and has no wear and tear on the barrel of reduced velocity.

Engine:

The engine was designed at Mekalla Arms' Propulsion Department. The engine is a MAE-DE2K, which pushes a massive amount of 2,000HP. The engine can run on almost all forms of diesel fuels. The engine's ventilation system uses powerful turbo-fans to push air through a liquid-nitrogen cool system of pipes. This can cool the engine in the most extreme circumstances. In wint the liquid nitrogen can be cycled with a water substitute known as Kellin, which can absorb heat but not, freeze with one side effect, its very flammable. The pipes can be flushed of nirtogen and filled with Kellin. Then the Kellin will be heat and the fans turned on, therefor heating the engine before start up. After that the Kellin is flushed and nitrogen pumped back in. To cool the engine during running. A simple system indeed. The engine is surrouned by a firewall in the front and back of the engine. The armour before and on side of the armour is some of the thickest of the tank. The engine provides extra armour to the crew. There is an electrical generator that runs off of gasoline to provide an auxillary power unit incase of engine shut down. The auxillary power unit can keep the tanks vital systems running in extreme cases. The Oderin Corporation made the tanks transmission the ODC-AT.K. The transmission is geared to maximize the out put from the engine and divide it equally between treads. The transmission is linked to a computer which can allow it to track one position and go there while the driver rests.

Weapons:

The P55 cannon is a versatile yet rugged gun used to its fullest extent in the Mercenary. The P55 is a 125MM smoothbore gun the uses the A125 type round. The A125 round is literally the normal round[with different shells] with a magnum-style 145MM caliber sized cartridge. The explosion is powerful enough to propel the shell at extreme speeds allowing the shell to destroy most targets in one shot. The cannon has maximum range of six miles, at four miles the shells fall dramatically, up to three to four miles is suggested range. The cannon unlike most guns doesn't need a firing pin. The shell is fired electronically, similar to the Metal Storm System. This increases efficiency of the gun and also has other advantages. The gun is classified as an Electronically Fired Smooth Bore Cannon 125MM[+145][EFSBC-125] with Magnetic Pulse Rifling. The cannon has stabilization tools that keep the gun on its target along with sighting tools it is a very accurate system. The 145MM[M] Cartridge provides enough power to push out a 155MM shell at sabot style speeds. In JPKW.1ME versions the P55 is replaced with the P56 a 120MM ETC cannon using the same autoloader but increasing the ammo capacity to 65 rounds.

The P44 rotary cannon is automatic cannon used to take out light
vehicles and if required infantry. The P44 is a three barreled rotary
cannon of 20MM. The cannon fits into the co-ax position,
which can be controlled by the gunner. The gun has a high rate of fire
for a cannon and has many different types of ammunition for the
various targets it will encounter. The gun's maximum range of two
miles but loses accuracy before the marked destination.

P15 MACHINE GUN | 12.7MM is a heavy machine gun for anti-air purpose and anti-infantry purposes; it can even penetrate light vehicles. The
gun has enough power to stop most enemy helicopter in flight. The gun
has an effective range of up to 1 mile. There are two P15s.

The P33 machine gun(7.62) is an automatic weapon designed for anti-air and
anti-ground purposes. The P33 can take out light vehicles, infantry,
helicopters, UAVs, and even low flying airplanes. The gun has a
maximum range of one and a half miles but drops slightly before the
mark. The Mercenary has two P33s one for AA, and the other for all other
purposes.

Computers:

The Mercenary is powered by a networked system of 3.6GHZ multi-processor 64-bit ABM microcomputers. The computers monitor everything in the vehicle and even process images from the scopes and cameras. They can also clean the images of thermal night-vision to enhance what the users see. Thanks to the imaging tools the computer can help increase the image seen by the scopes cameras, and other systems. The program also helps filter our to bright of images, ones that would damage or harm the eyes of the person looking in the scope, automatically. The
computers can connect to local Military Unit Networks, which share
data with other units through computers. The MUNs compatible are: All
Afrikaan Variations, and almost all other systems. Powered by the
newest variations of the MOS 2 RISC based system with many small
adjustments to help better maintain the systems of the vehicle in combat situations. The system automatically activates when the vehicle is
turned on and can run specific functions. The operating system also
has the HUD, RADAR, LADAR, LIDAR and other systems. The tools allow you to easily switch from one essential program to another to correctly control the vehicle. Though the system literally is the replacement to manual systems, it does have a manual back up to all essential processes. The FLIR systems and other scopes are all integrated into the computers. There are five monitors in the vehicle. Each monitor is used as a desktop in the operating system and you can send program to and from
each other through the network. The driver and commander have two
screens each while the gunner has one. The systems used in the
computer-gunning program allow the guns to target multiple targets at
once with independent scopes and target sharing programs; therefore it
is easier than ever to use the multiple target system. The Multiple
Target Module Systems[MTMS] uses the gunner's computer to allow the
gunner to target all the targets the commander sends him at once, and
then he can command the turret to target the enemy vehicle. The MTMS
also allows him to uses multiple rockets, guided or otherwise, at the
same time as the guns. Finally the system uses a fire and forgets
method for the rockets in the Missile Pod Module.

Chemical Protection:

The Mercenary uses a two-part NBC and air filtration system. The bottom
filter, on the bottom incase the top one is destroyed, uses a water
collecting "bucket" so to say if driving in water, it will
automatically close the hatches. If the top filtration system is
destroyed, the hatches are closed and isolated; at this point the crew
has limited survivability. The filter is called the Positive
Collection Filter. The filter is an ultra thin positively charged grid of coils
that acts as a magnet to the negatively charged particles of
pollutants and other deadly materials. The filter also has a
liquid-nitrogen cooling system and heating system similar to that of
the engine. The tank is lined with radiation absorbant materials. When
pressurized the vehicles is safe from most NBC or air pollution
threats. The doors and hatches are all able to be sealed allowing a
completely air tight vehicle.

Armour:

Front: Up to 320MM[RHA-4000MM] of armour without the addition of the
engine and ERA.

Sides: Up to 140MM to 150MM[RHA-2000MM] of armour without the addition of ERA.

Back: Up to 100MM to 120MM[RHA-1500MM] of armour without the addition of ERA.

Top: Up to 70MM to 100MM[RHA-1000MM] of armour without the addition of ERA.

Heat: Up to 10MM to 15MM of Kettek Carbon[RHA-HEAT-1500MM] of armour without the addition of ERA.

The Mercenary uses a modernized version of the newly developed Ragnarok II Armour System. The armour is organized into three layers, the armour itself, the ERA "Buffer" and then the ERA. The armour is explained
below, the ERA Buffer is an area of flaps that will shoot out if they
are hit, or after both ERA fires have been used. The ERA, or Explosive
Reactive Armour is not required but is bolted onto all non-close
quarters[to lightly armoured or unarmoured units] vehicles. There can
be up to two layers of independently firing ERA armour, one behind the
other. The computers inside the vehicle control the ERA and the
reactions. The computer's radar system scans for incoming a shell that
then fires the appropriate ERA layer which points to the target. The
exterior armour, is covered with the Kettek carbon laminate mixture to
slow and stop burning from HEAT shells.

Ragnarok II Armour System

The Ragnarok II Armour System[RAS] is an armoured system designed to be used in heavy vehicles that need heavy protection. The major
components of the armour are: depleted uranium, steel alloys, carbon
[N] whiskers threaded into steel alloys, ceramic honeycomb, and armind
fiber(Kevlar) along with a new a carbon allotope graphene. The armour is composed of a large depleted uranium shell coated in graphene, a fire resistent yet hardened material, followed with steel alloy threaded with carbon whiskers, then a ceramic honeycomb, followed by steel alloys mixed with carbon whiskers, this repeats multiple time. With a final layer of depleted uranium and then armind(kevlar) fiber. The armour can be used in many different vehicles and can have ERA Buffer and ERA attachments along with the ability to be replaced easily through sheet reproduction. The ERA system is made of a layer or two of ERA materials that have sensors detecting incoming projectiles. It calculates the path and other required information about the projectile, the main computer then activates the appropriate ERA plate. The ERA can destroy or blow of course most projectiles with ease. Even though the armour is close to invincible it comes at a very heavy price. It can use the Amour, ERA Buffer system to act as a auxillary system of reactive armour. It can also be coated in Kettek Carbon protection system.

Auto-Loader:

The Mercenary's auto-loader replaces the manual loading styles used for
ages by all nations. The auto-loader is a simple cylinder system. The
cylinder rotates like a revolver, then the loading arm pushes a shell
into the firing chamber where it is then fired. The cylinder is then
rotated to the next shell. The quick-loader carries up to 12 rounds
and when they are in need of a reloading, the shells are pushed into
the cylinder from another circle clip. The current system is up to
twenty-five percent quicker than the older cylinder reloaded. Smooth
Move mechanisms have increased the firing speed. Computers track all
of the data about the reloader, current stages, ammunition left and
other vitals.

Counter-Arms:

Counter Arms of the Mercenary include: mortar system, grenade launcher,
smoke-screen system, and a laser scanning defense network. The 80MM
mortar is in the back of the tank and is used for longer-range light
artillery, it is fed from a spring loaded side clip allowing for
automatic fire. The grenade system is mounted in the front of the tank
and it is a 10 tube, 20MM metal storm style system, the grenades can
be explosive, armour piercing, smoke, aerosol and each tube contains
five grenades. The grenade system doubles as a smoke screen layer and
the grenade boxes can rotate a small bit. The laser scanning defense
network uses an aerosol ejector to project the lasers to the sight of
the commander.

Shells:

The Mercenary can use a wide variety of shells for various weapons to do
different jobs. The shells range from RAMJET rounds to tracer rounds
for a machine gun.

Large Caliber:
The Ram Jet Depleted Uranium Discarding Round Sabot Detonation Shell
is basically a uranium sabot, surrounded with a micro-layer of ERA
that when an ERA explosion is detected reacts hopefully allowing the
shell to stay on its planned course. The sabot can penetrate most
armour like a DU shell. Other shells listed below.

RAMJET Shell
Discarding Round Sabot Shell
High Explosive Anti Tank Shell
Depleted Uranium Penetration Shell
Spread-Shot Shell
Tungsten Penetration Shell

Small Caliber:
Armour Piercing Shell
Standard Hollow Tip Shell
Tracer Shell
Incendiary Shell

CIWS:

The Lexan CIWS serves an anti-projectile and anti-infantry weapon. The
system uses a high-powered air blast to launch it out of the barrel.
The system can follow any of the tanks main sensors, and it has its
own thermal imaging system along with basic millimetric wave radar to
keep track of all projectiles. The systems explosive is powerful
enough to take out light infantry, and even anti-tank missile systems.
Being about the size of the laser pod it is about the same looking. It
also confuses the enemies what is the CIWS and what is the laser
system, either way, together they can stop up to six projectiles at
once. It uses an explosive device that is a powerful compact plastic
explosive and explodes when within a certain range, or on contact,
whatever comes first. The Lexan is attached to the computers R/L-ADAR and LIDAR.

Other:

The Mercenary has computer-controlled pod of three lasers. The lasers are
capable to track incoming missiles and then predict the path. The
laser pod then selects one of the three lasers to "burn" the missile.
The missile will explode and not damage the tank as much as it would
have. The crew compartment has room for 6 clips for the W-3[P90
compliant] and three W-3s[P90 compliant]. The treads are one in five
chances of being a cleet, the rest are rubber, making it easy to use
on roads. The tread is over 30 feet long and not rather hard to
maintain. The treads are over 32.5CMs wide and make it easy to turn, yet
displace the weight properly.

OOC: unfortunately, I don't have time to read through the whole thing, and I am designing my latest Arctic Wolf variant for my own army, but out of sheer respect for the work put into it, I'll buy it once you have it fully done and are exporting. As for advice, well, as I said, I don't have time (studying for exams) but what I read through looked good

OOC:Looks good...but 4,000mm RHA? Not sure about that one...
Isselmere

NS RHAs are uber-wanked, but 4000 RHA is too high.

Metal Storm is a projectile launcher like a gun rather than a grenade launcher, and most vehicle grenade launchers are between 40mm-70mm.

An 80mm mortar is unnecessary and too large. 60mm is small but perfect for its main purpose -- indirect fire in urban settings. Otherwise, a mortar is unnecessary as tank units often have mortar sub-units paired with them, allowing the tanks to concentrate on their direct-fire role.

If you place a heavy gun on your vehicle, expect the vehicle to weigh more. Part of the weight is necessary to counter the recoil force of the gun. Else your tank will either be tearing itself apart, stopping in its tracks each time it fires on the move, or flipping itself over. Also, high armour values mean serious weight issues.

Magnets may cause havoc with fuzes by creating an electrical field. Bad things can happen then, very bad things.

Similarly, is the gun a 125mm or a 145mm gun? I'm not quite sure. When it comes to larger sized weapons, the measurement rationale is actually reasonably consistent, unlike with small arms (re: 0.223" = 5.56mm). Larger shells mean less storage capacity.

Furthermore, either choose a gun or missiles, not both (excepting missiles fired from a gun, such as LAHAT) for a tank. Tank guns are big heavy beasts that, when they go off, might rattle the crap out of a missile's electronics, even with solid state, digital technology.

Okay lets go over this.

The shell is 125MM with enough propellent to push 145MM. Hence the name 125[145]. Thank you. The RHA is okay, way too high. I'm trying to think of a more reasonable amount but I don't know. The engine could count in pretty well, its a engine, made of steel right? The magnets are on the end parts of the gun keeping them away from electronics. The tank weighs in at 80 tons, it should lose some of the kick back there. Rockets rarely have electronics in them and the grenades should be bigger. The mortar is 80MM the standard Afrikaan caliber we'll make an exception however, it'll have a 60.
