Recognizing the deficiencies of the TIE system, the Jensen Design Bureau has commissioned a new form of TIE fighter. It cannot be technically called a TIE, as it will be fueled by a proprietary AER-1 Antimatter Reactor Engine System, giving it more power output and better performance (in combination with a redesigned shape) than before.
In addition, thanks to the discovery of Maoite and other materials, newly empowered blasters and more destructive torpedo systems are possible, and integrated onto the fighter. This is Jensen's first domestic fighter design, and one which may yet bring good service to the people.
