A girl who appeared to be in her early teens trudged through the snow outside of town just after dusk. Her breath billowed out in front of her in a white cloud and she shivered as she hugged her old cloak to her for warmth. Just a bit further, she told herself, trying to keep moving through the paralizing cold. Snow had filtered into her moccasin style boots and made her toes numb. She desperately needed a bowl of stew, a mug of hot ginger tea and a fireplace, not nessicarily in that order. She shivered uncontrolably, as her cloak was much too thin to keep her warm in this weather. Almost there... she urged herself. She was just a few steps away from entering the city gate. Just a bit... just.. a... Her head swam and she felt her eyelids become heavy. No.. almost... there... stay awake... She collapsed into the snow face first, her blond locks spilling out across the frozen ground. She faded into darkness, her last thoughts before unconciousness being, I.. almost made it...
