Silberunion-Mondoth War (CLOSED)

Unanymously the other participants in this war that hail from the Silberunion (Geisenfried has not been yet consulted) have suggested that we halt the war that used to be posted here because it is considered that some of Mondoth's practices fall in the category of Godmod, and Cheating in general. I was not certain but I trust them and, well, even if those nukes make sense - which they did not in any way - it'd be a RP killer, so after hearing their reasoning I joined them. I'm sorry Mr. Geisenfried that the roleplay could not be any better, I hope we get to colaborate some other time.

Many Hundreds of Miles away at Port of Triumph in a nondescript office building.

"Sir, the Enemy forces are within range, Aircraft have left the carrier decks and we have transport aircraft dropping things on the land side."

"All right,, keep me informed, let them stew for now. Automated defenses should be coming on any minute anyway."

As he was speaking, On both sides of the strait opening on Mondoth City bay area, common place sructures such as farm buildings and some grassy hills, were not always what they seemed. Most of the land was government owned and kept free of civilian ownership just in case. Several grain elevators emited low level Radar frequency energy pretty much all the time, connected by underground fiber optics wires to these supposed grain elevators were several other structures, the afformentioned hills and farm structures. Inside was where the magic happened, data from the grain elevator radars was transmuted to targetting data for the Pietr type anti naval missile systems disgused by these edifices. As the ships continued more data was collected and analyzed by computers, profiles were studied, size, speed and maneuvering statistics were studied as was emitted energy frequencies. In the space of a few minutes these computers had identified an approaching invasion fleet and gave the missile arays the command to fire. The missiles range meant that technically, had they been operated by sattelite and humans they could have fired almost an hour ago but as with all of Mondoth's stationary defenses, they were completely unmanned and tightly held secrets. The 'Secrets' had just unleashed a furious storm of very powerful anti ship missiles against an enemy fleet. From fifty or so points all around the bay and its entrance roared almost one hundred missiles targeted on the largest ships in the fleet. The Pietr missile had evolved from the old Exocet type missile, pretty much a really big missile designed for killing any of the large attle ships that had proliferated the naval scene. they carried their own jamming systems and stuck close to the water trying to stay below enemy radar until it was too late. After that barrage the shores were silent, smoky trails wafted through the air carried on the light sea breeze, waiting for return fire.

In the city itself things were different, Every body was moving, the Military had coopted every radio frequency, TV Station and communications grid, directing people to remain calm and make their way towards he nearest designated shelter. The urpose of moving people out of their homes and into easily securable positions was two fold. one it meant that people were out of the streets and in a defensible position incase of urban street to street fighting, lowering civilian casualites. And two it kept everybody in one place too ease the strain on logistics, it eased food and water distribution incase of the break down of vital services. The rules of the designated shelters were loose and fair, people had privacy if they wanted it, could go outside as long as there was no nearby fighting and were allowed to eat whenever they wanted as long as they didn't exceed their rations for the day. People were allowed to stay in their own approved shelters provided they didn't go to far away from them. The system was designed to both minimize panic and to allow the soldiers to do their job easier, namely defending the countries population.
For now nemy aircraft were allowed free reign in the skies, all of the vulnerable military equipment was either well camoflauged or underground. For now the attackers would have the Initiative.

Admiral Reynolds looked at the vast array of friendly ships that dotted his radar. He knew there was another large amount of enemy ships nearby. Commander Yuslav was stationed in Feindseligkeit, ready to deploy the ground troops and give air support at a moments notice. As soon as Mondoth gave the word as to where and when, tens of thousands of soldiers would be sent in to help counter the attack.

The 143 aircraft from Is Och Guard were intercepted by a single SX-24 strike aircraft, well, the interception was really done by a pair of Bathor Shadow type stealth missiles. each one armed with a 2 Kiloton Nuclear air burst warhead and was specifically designed to shed radar energy like water off a ducks back making it almost impossible to spot on radar until it was too late. The SX-24 stayed a nice safe 150 Nautical miles away and engaged the enemy while it was just entering Modnothian Airspace.

If anyone has a problem with the idea of air to air nuclear weapons I suggest that they research Genie rockets, part of the U.S. military arsenal during the 50s. They were low yield unguided nuclear rockets built for taking on large soviet air formations. While Mondoth's weapons would certainly be MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE, he only used two of them and they are feasible considering how much lighter modern nuclear weapons are compared to their 50s counterparts and how far "stealth" technology has progressed. From what I've read it seems he only launched two against a large aircraft formation and hasn't been slinging them right and left as an unbeatable superweapon. If he did any claims of absolute stealth he makes should be countered with common sense, use a super powerful AWACs or something of that nature (which is easily conceivable - most U.S AWACS use tech from the 70s and 80s).

As far as the anti-ship missiles that he launched, jamming really won't block all radar signals, and I'm not even sure if a weapon would have enough power to be an effective jammer. CIWS systems are meant to handle those threats, so they shouldn't be overly effective or hard to counter. Modern Navies expect sea skimming missiles to be used against them anyhow.

Of course, if you are going to abandon this thread completely and not monitor it at all this post is completely pointless...

After reading your silberunion telegram posts I can see why you quit, but abandoning the thread completely seems rather childish. if you had tried invading the U.S. in the fifties and flew in gigantic air formations they would've pulled out all the stops and nuked your planes immediately.

so, what about my Air to Air Nuclear munitions don't make sense? I just want to know why you think that an established technology doesn't make sense and why you think it merited you quiting this RP without telling me, or even doing an actual post so that when it happened I could just look at my subscribed threads and see that a new post had been made instead of having to wait for Feind to post.
I also want to know how, in two posts I've managed to both cheat AND godmode (Lets see, in post ONE I acknowledged your attack and responded with a pretty pitiful defense, in post TWO I copy and pasted a response from page one of the original thread, how did it make sense then but not now?

Re rereading the Verghastinsel thread, I noticed something The Polarstern was damaged by my AWACs attack, and yet, all of a sudden its part fo the fleet that was knocking on my door, how did that happen?

OOC: Inform me now. Is this RP on or off? Because if I'm going to be going through the trouble of deploying forces, I want there to be a reason I spend a few hours organizing them.
As for nuclear weapons. Perficly possible. They're called tactical weapons. I use them, and so do many other nations. Granted, Mondoth was a little quick to fire them, but I can't blame him when attacked by such a force.

Anyone who thinks those nukes are a godmode, or cheating, is really trying to play a sheltered game. Nuclear anti-air missiles have been around since before China got "the bomb".

I'm not sure if its on or off, pretty much everybody I've talked to on my side thinks that Kaiser and friends are overreacting whereas the Silberunion's regional board seems to indicate that they don't want to mess with me and my allies. Its up to the Silberunion I guess but the haven't returned any messages yet

OOC: Well, I'm going to give it until, say, Friday, before I consider it as they surrendered and write it off as another victory over KM.
Really, tactical nuclear weapons are not some major "OMG WoRlD Destructorz!!!" weapon.
Add to that the fact that I feel insulted by some of the stuff I just read on the Silberunion regional board.

Anyway, all I can say to all participants who arn't too happy about the events. Grow a skin and live with it, or quit. It's simple, and I don't care either way.
Although I liked the idea of having a small scale war like this. Well, smaller then the huge dogpiles that always happen here, I guess they just can't work.

It seems that the RP is over, I thought it had good potential but now it looks like the other side evaporated, better luck next time I guess

Would the word 'retreated' or 'surrendered' be substitutable for 'evaporated'?
