Following the disingegration of Yelm's government, it's African territories have been in anarchy and chaos. A mass civil war between rival factions attempting to seize power had left tens of thousands dead. The Holy Empire of Kreynoria has officially decreed that peace is to be restored to Kenya, Djibouti, and Tanzania by force of arms. (I'm not very experienced at RP'ing, but here goes, can someone rp resistance)

The total invasion forces numbered 65,000 Kreynorian infantry, as well as 400 MLRS launchers, 3000 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles, 600 Challenger 2 MBT's, and 4000 52mm self-propelled mortars. Launching from base in Reunion Island, the large amphibious force would be supported by 150 Eurofighter Typhoons, 250 A-10 Warthogs, 200 Apache Longbows, and 70 B-2 Stealth Bombers. The Montana-class battleships Guardian and Avenger would provide supporting fire for the landings, as would 16 Arleigh Burke-class destroyers.

Commander Manuel Lacaris stood at the bow of his flagship, the Guardian, and stared at the approaching land. His face was completely calm and solemn, thanks to heavy conditioning in officer's training, but inwardly he was full of excitement. This was to be his first actual combat mission. He then looked around at the other grey ships of the invasion force. After about ten more minutes, he called for a complete stop. They were about 21 miles from shore, well in range of the battleships' guns. The massive 18-inch guns of the battleships, combined with cruise missile fire, lit up a huge fireworks display over Kenya. Above, he saw the wing of 70 B-2 Stealth Bombers heading towards shore. The targets for their bombs and napalm would be the coastal defence batteries and any air hangars. They would also attempt to hit the radar centers, comm centers, and fuel supply of the rebels.

The 70 B-2's launched a total surprise attack on the Yelmish forces. The smart bombs and napalm they dropped was aimed first at the coastal defence batteries, then at the radar and air defences. However, the seasoned rebels recovered quickly from the surprise, shooting down 6 bombers with their SAM's and AA guns. The 64 remaining bombers then turned around and flew back towards Reunion Island. There was now a gaping hole in Kenya's radar and coastal defences. To be sure, a squadron of C-5 Galaxy transporters dropped off 2,000 paratrooper commandoes in the hole in the defences. Armed with sniper rifles, M4's, frag grenades, and the new K-2 Combat Knives, the commandoes swiftly moved and disabled the remaining arillery batteries, leaving a wide open beach front for the Kreynorian forces. The mighty assault ships began to move towards shore, deploying their landing craft. Ahead of them, minehunters made sure that the ocean was clear and safe for the incoming landing craft. It turned out the sea was all clear, with no mines impeding the paths of the minehunters. The landing craft began deploying the first of tens of thousands of marines and their supporting craft. The marines were covered by A-10's and Apache Longbows, and by the battleships' guns and the paratroopers.

The rebel forces swarmed over the hills in great hordes. Yet most were poorly armed, some bearing only simple swords, knives, and staffs. They were cut down by artillery and machine gun fire, and blitzed by bombs, chain guns, and napalm from the air. After 15 minutes of this, Commander Lascaris ordered his troops to ceasefire. "Send out the berserkers!" he commanded. The berserkers, experimented with in the invasion of Namibia, were pumped full of drugs prior to the battle, and went into a killing frenzy. Great war drums were beaten as the berserkers marched to the front lines. They each carried an M-4 carbine, a Beretta, and a K-2 combat knife. They began to charge toward the horde of rebel troops. Within minutes, the battle turned into a rout. The frenzied berserkers shot and cut down wave after wave of rebel soldiers. The rebels, who were already demoralized, threw down their weapons and fled, pursued by the berskers, who ruthlessly sliced them down.

After the drugs wore off, the berserkers returned to base, exhausted. Meanwhile, the amphibious deployments had been completed. The Expeditionary Force immediately began marching, their target, Nairobi. An advance wave of aircraft had already softened up the defences.

Inside Nairobi, rebel observers watched as the grim Kreynorian troops and their heavy equipment steadily came closer to the capital. The insurgents defending the city were demoralized by both the sight of the approaching enemy, and the intense air bombardment that ended about thirty minutes ago. Fortunately, most of the bombs had hit the outlying defences of the city, thus the civilian casualty rate was low. Unfortunately, this meant that most of the rebel bunkers, antiaircraft guns, and artillery batteries had been blown to smithereens, leaving the city almost defenceless.

Commander Lascaris watched a television screen on the Guardian . From the back of the Kreynorian army, observers armed with cameras and microphones had been steadily relaying firsthand footage of the invasion. The footage was being played on the Imperial News Network, being watched by millions of Kreynorians. On the whole, the public reaction to the invasion was of mixed emotions. Outwardly, the Kreynorian people showed wild excitement, and did all sorts of patriotic things to show this. Inwardly though, they were fervently worried about their loved ones, and about the reaction that would come from the rest of the world. By day there were parades, rallies, and feasts, by night, the sky lit by fireworks, were the whisperings of millions of prayers, prayers for relatives and friends going off to war. Commander Lascaris also felt this mixture of emotions. He was both excited and fearful. The most intense of training sessions in officers' academy were nothing compared to this. He knew he was dooming many good men and women to death, and felt deathly guilty about this.

The artillery bombardment began in earnest at 3:30 on that fateful afternoon. Howitzer, mortar, and rocket fire blew buildings away as if they were stacks of cards. The simple clay and mud brick houses of the poor simply collapsed from the intense shaking of the ground, without being hit by any shell or rocket. Above, more B-2's appeared, dropping dozens of tons of high-explosive and incendiary bombs. The bombardment continued for an hour or so, before the 'ceasefire' order was given. By then, 12,000 berskers had been pumped full of drugs, and immediately began running toward the city. Once within range, they instantly began firing round after round from their pistols and carbines. About 250 were shot down by sniper fire before they entered the ruins of the city. In their rage, they poured all over the rubble of the destroyed buildings. By now, many had holstered their Berettas and M-4's and unsheathed their brand-new K-2 combat knives. The Nairobi defenders pounded them with round after round of fire. The raging berserkers roared terrible battle cries. Coupled with the terror of their banzai-like charge, many of the inexperienced defenders fled, screaming in fear. But the veterans of the Yelmish campaigns in Africa mostly held their ground, despite being shaken. They continued to shoot until the last possible moment, before meeting the charging berserkers with swords and bayonets.

Attention vile attackers, you are intruding on Yelmish land and will be dealt with soon if thee does no leave our land. A civil war in Antartica has forced the government to lose communications with it's colonies but we still maintain our military in the area. We demand you leave or else your entire fleet and armada shall perish in the hot blistering sun, or in the deep depths of the ocean sea. Heed my warning.

Off Shore Kenya
Two Multi-Role Fleets of the Yelmish Navy approaching from the North began targetting the invaders navy. It plotted the enemies ships and prepared defenses and missiles for launch. Coming from the South came one General Purpose Fleet, preparations for possible attacks were also made. And finally coming from the East came the remainder of the Yelmish fleet. With aircraft taking off by the minute and missiles preparing to launch tensions inside the ships rose.

Kenya
Coming from the West elements of the 10th Army Corp came scrambling to Nairobi to relieve local residents who attempted to put up a fight to the invaders. Tanks, infantry transport vehicles, and infantry in humvees and trucks made their way to the capital. Ahead of the Corp was 24 F-225A Bombers, flanked by 48 F/A-91 Fighters. Their mission was to soften up the attackers before the corp arrived.

From the North came elements of the 2nd Armoured Corp, whose mission was to clear the coast and resecure coastal defenses. Helicopters, and aircraft were at their disposal.

OOC: Uh, Yelm Kreynoria is on vacation and won't be back for at least a week. FYI, plus I gave him 2 Nimitz Air Craft Carriers and 26 Ileana-Vasili Class Carriers at the first part of the week, (NS=4 years)good luck trying to sail up to Kenya.

um Kreynoria you may be in some S H I T mate. I will aid you nation if Yelm Invades your motherland or original colonies. but My military is a bit exhausted after the conquest of Namibia. so i wish you will reconsider this action.... :)

Zeeeland-I only wish to reconquer my own land. But if the war seems like it's going to be lasting for a bit I'll have to take up a few manuevers to catch Kreynoria off balance.

Commander Lascaris cursed as he heard the message from the Yelmish forces. The battles had been progressing well, but the Kreynorian armies would be no match for their Yelmish counterparts. The commander ordered a general ceasefire, and commanded all troops to fall back to the beachheads. He sent a message to the Yelmish general. He promised that his troops would withdraw from Kenya and Tanzania, but requested that they be allowed to retain Djibouti.

ahhh come on why not have a huge KICKASS fight before you retreat sure the only KICK ASS will probably be On your receiving end. but hey It could be fun... :)

Meh, I think you're correct. I might fight for Djibouti, but not for a big place like Tanzania or Kenya.

Thank you for keeping this incident from growing into a large military conflict. We only hope Duke Barol retreats from our land as well.
