OOC: I need to open some trade routes, but I really have no idea how this works. Please help and enlighten me as I try to get through this...

IC: Friendly Transmission: Newly founded Nation in desperate need of opened trade routes. We are highly interested in Aerospace technology, as well as Low-Consumer technology. Materials are our greatest need at the moment, however a small temporary defense system until we are able to design our own may need to be contracted. We need to import engineers from other nations to Aid in these and many other measures. We have a strong economy for a base to build on. To set Terms of Trade please advise me of what information you may need!

How is everything kept track of? Credits, Items Bought, etc?
