Government enslaves unemployed
Today, Sarandoy policemen and KHAD agents visited some 3 million unemployed at home and arrested them by order of the Prime minister. They were subsequently sent a camp were registery and identification will follow. The government hopes to have finished with this task in less then a week and have them working on fields and factories within 2 weeks of their arrest.
When asked about theis drastic measure, Prime minister Romanov said: 'Many unemployed in our nation get an unemployment benefit from the government, not much. But enough to live healthy. Now we have noticed that some people are simply taking advantage of this benefit and when offered a job, they came up with all kinds of excuses or simply refused. Even while some of these jobs pay better then the unemployment office. Appearantly some people prefer to receive a benefit and then do jobs besides that.'
'The common taxpayer is offcourse the victim, he pays for someone who wants to be lazy. And as you can see, in some cases he pays someone who has a job secretly without paying taxes. So after much consideration, me and my ministers have decided to force these fools and lazy kids to work. we are not a charity organisation, for nothing the sun goes up. We must be efficient and these will people, and I refuse to use the word slave, will work until their debt to our nation and its taxplayers is paid back. Unemployment benefits are for those who are unlucky, fired or from a factory that has gone bankrupt. It does not mean you dont have to work anymore. These people will only be released again once they have worked and brought profit to their employers.'
Some Union leaders believe the new enslavement theory may lead to new unemployment as managers could fire their most expensive employees. But Prime minister Romanov noted that each factory will be given only a limited number of 'forced employees'.
