Rapion drummed his fingers on the long glass table in the war room. There was silence, everyone held their breath as the sound of fingers tapping rolled on. He sighed and finally said, "It's apparent we've never been in a full-scale war, am I correct?" General-Major Malkavian, who sat to Rapion's right nodded his head and asked, "Do you have anything planned for our military, Comandant-General sir?" Rapion smiled and replied, "Yes, yes I do." He leaned in a bit. "I say we give our military a test." There was still silence. "We do open Wargames with the nations of the world. We put parts of our military in a virtual world, pit them against other militaries, and see who comes on top, aye?" Everyone in the room nodded silently. Rapion stood from his high back chair. "I'm glad we agree. Malkavian," He perked up, looking at Rapion. "I want you to contact the world, for open wargames." Malkavian said flatly, "Yes sir, right away." He stood up and walked out of the room. Rapion looked into the eyes of all his military and international advisors and said, "This meeting is adjourned. Tell the science advisors I want them to create a simulated world, based off Wargames map: A-1-5-6." "Yes sir!" They chanted and walked out of the room.
Malkavian was in his office, at a COM Terminal, sending the wargames message out to the world.
"To: All Interested Parties
Subject: Wargames
Dear Comrades,
The Raptorian Federation is holding a virtual Wargame in the next few days. All parties interested must reply to this COM and create a virtual army, based off branches of the military. We hope to see you soon, I will post map designs and specifications soon.
Thank you
General-Major Valdor Malkavian
The Great Leader's Right Arm"
He pressed send, and smiled. War. War was a beautiful word, even if this war would be a farse.
OOC: Just to let you guys know, my nation is Post Modern Tech, I'm not big on spacecraft or anything crazy like that. We just use an advanced armour system for infanty, as well as small urban walkers. Nothing a modern military couldn't take on.
I'll post map sketches/simulations soon.
Oh yeah, no FT or Past Tech, sorry, that'll be too hard to deal with.

Message to Raptorian Federation,
I Kronos Shysa, chief of the armed forces here in Dracun, accept your call for war games. We have always wanted to test our new volunteer army force. We would gladly accept any terms you bring before us, or any form of scenarios. One such scenario we would like to suggest is a guerilla war. We could play either side of the war; we eagerly look forward to your response.
Signed,
Commander Kronos Shysa
Chief of Armed Forces

OOC: does Starcraft Terran ground forces tech count as PMT or FT?

OOC: does Starcraft Terran ground forces tech count as PMT or FT?
OOC: Depends, SCV's I'd consider FT because of the fusion cutter and ghosts because of the nuclear strike ability, but most of the Terran Infanty I wouldn't have a problem with. I'd let you use the ghost without the lockdown or nuclear strike, just to make it a bit more fair.
Dracun imperium - Roger that, I'll draw up and post the map I have planned. Basically, it's a desert scene, with a city to the west. We can use that for urban/guerilla warfare.

OOC: I hadn't really planned on sending in SCVs, or ghosts, just marines, goliaths, firebats, vultures(no spider mines, bouncing barbies, don't ask), and siegetanks, since they're the major combat forces of the Terran Dominion.
Does a non-cloak wraith, or the Valkyries, count as PMT, I know the dropships would be, but I thought I should ask, since the PMT line can be rather blurry at times.
I'm considering playing the Alliance races from broodwar for my RPs and this seems like a good time to check out my terrans in combat, and I'm trying to figure out what's cool and what's off limits.

"Well, I've just seen the mesage from..." he paused and looked down at the memo, "the Raptorian Federation. This could be an excellent oppourtunity for us to see our boys in action and test out some new equipment. I say we do it. Any objections?"
There was a chorous of "No, sir." from the gathered adviors.
"Excellent! Send a response and get ome of our boys ready to go."

War is what made millions of children in Dovakhan orpahned, war destroyed Dovakhan's economy, war made refugees of nearly all of Dovakhan's people. Many of Dovakhan's able-bodied soldiers perished, leaving our nation vulnerable to attack and forced to enact in various unfair military treatises.

OOC: Alright, I'll start it out, then wait for Dracun to reply. Mind you, in the war, we may have reinfocements. These are all inital stats.
IC:
The virtual world came alive. The troops were deployed, pitching tents while the construction crew worked on the main fortified base. The base was to have reinforced steel and concrete walls, barbed wire on the towers. There was to be two large 1 foot thick titanium walls. An airfield was also being paved just outside of the main base, but still walled in. This was to accomidate air to air fighters and air to ground bombers that would be called in at a later date. The base would be large enough to accomodate the whole deployed Raptorian force and then some. Even though it was just a simulation, the troops were based off acual troops they had enlisted.
General Traks looked out into the bleak and vast desert. He knew he picked an awful starting point, one that was so desolate. He sighed, and said, "This land will be claimed in the name of Raptoria."
OOC: Sorry about the typos, school again.

The Troops had deployed at point A on the map, and were now moving to the west, trying to take the heights of the plateau and have the defensive advantage against their foes.
The marines and Firebats moved south, to take the city, in the company of A company of Goliaths and Vulture Bikes for armor support if they encountered any opponents.

The Dracun Forces moved quickly towards the city, where a terrain in which they were familiar with could be utilized. However the Dracun Infantry men and most of the armor and helicopters headed off to take on the forces on Mini Miehm whose forces were heading towards the city.
The Dracun troops (Elites, and DITs as well as some Mobile Engineers) took off in the transports towards the city, while the Dracun force attacking the Mini Miehm forces heading to the city utilized their feet.
While over 3,000 troops stood at the main base where they could protect it from assault, since it held the airbases.
Aircraft stormed across the skies towards city-heading Mini Miehm forces, they would attack and cause havoc, since most of them were in drop ships they would be easy picking.

The Goliaths detected the incoming planes, locked on, and fired their Hellstorm missiles at the encroaching targets, while the wraiths accelerated towards their opposite numbers in the sky.

5 Scout troops on sped out Mark 3 Scout Recon Units toward the plateau. They came within a mile of the cliffside and stopped. One pulled out his binoculars to survey the land. He spotted the Dropships looming over the plateau, he was worried. Too many troops to stage a frontal assault, especially since they had the high ground. He pulled out his radio and spoke softly into the microphone, "Scout 582, Reporting in. Enemy troops spotted, requesting high-altitude air strike." There was a pause. "Roger scout, coordinates verified, we have a visual on the cliff. Paint your targets, and prepare for high altitude Area bombing." The scout nodded and pulled out what looked like a long barreled sniper rife with a small muzzle. He squeezed the trigger on one of the stationary dropships, and a tiny red dot appeared on the hull of the ship.
"Raptorian High Alititude Bomber Mark 5-A-1, Reporting in."
The long bomber raced across the sky. "Target sighted, computer locked, bombs away gentlemen." He pressed a small red button on his control stick, there was a beep, then a 'whoosh' sound. The large laser guided bomb was on it's way to the surface and into the center of the foes.
At the base, a sergeant barked over the loudspeaker: "Gold, Alpha, Delta, Barred troops, go to your transports ASAP. We're taking the high ground." Within less than 45 seconds, 50 troop transports and 20 MBTs raced out of the base and to the plateau...

The bomber was immediately targeted by the Valkyries and the wraiths in the area, all of them in fact, and they each let loose a single missile at their opponent, nothing could survive 50 odd missiles.
The goliaths opened fire on the bomb as the dismounted vulture bike riders added the fire of their machine guns to the mix, trying to bring the bomb down before it hit.
The SCVs were all building bunkers or missile turrets, to protect against air threats, although only three turrets were operational so far, they also added their fire to the mix going after the bomber.
Most of the siege tanks and goliaths had been moved to the plateaus rim to provide defensive fire while the emplacements were completed, which meant they would be out of blast range from the bomb, since the main force was accumulated to the center of the plateau where the base camp was being constructed, although most of the vultures would be lost if the bomb detonated, a good quantity of the goliaths and siege tanks would survive.
The troops on their way to the city continued on their path, oblivious to the confrontation occurring back at their base camp.

"I'm hit! Mayday! Mayda..." A large explosion ripped throught the bomber instantly killing the pilot. The bomb however was barley phased by the fire, and it had taken a few hits, which sent it slightly off course, missing it's target by about 90 feet, but it still exploded. The power of the blast threw rocks, dust, and debris through the air.

OOC: ok, so only half the base camp, gotcha.
IC:
The western portion of the base camp was decimated, with only 300 vultures, 200 goliaths and 20 SCVs surviving the massive blast that scoured the emplacements down to bedrock. The rest of the base survived more or less intact, although there was a good deal of damage in some areas, specifically to the barracks and armory, and a few seige tanks were lost to debris.
On the rim the siege tanks moved into siege mode, deploying firing jacks and their massive 170mm shock cannon, bringing the most powerful mobile weapon in the world to bear on the approaching enemies, while the goliaths painted the opposing planes with their radar nd locked their missiles onto their targets, soon they would fire and debris would rain from the sky.

The siege tanks opened up as soon as trhe enemy was in range, and their normally impressive range was increased by their height advantage, meaning they could hit the enemy from miles away, and their massive shock cannons were enough to tear most units to shreds, meaning they should be able to hold long enough for some backup to arrive.

As the transports sped across the desert back to HQ, they called in the missle Traks. "Comrades, get them on long range, bombard them."
The missile traks were going to be a threat, but they could be dealt with, there was more than one kind of Goliath up on the ridge, the second version was known as the hellmaker, what the firebat is to the marine, the hellmaker is to the goliath, including armament, four perdition flame throwers and dual STS incinerator missile launchers, firing napalm warheads, they would fry anything in a vehicle that came into range.
