Stirrings in Kordo

Kordo

Kordo City

Richard Jo’ha looked at the map in front of him. Just a few months ago, he had been struggling to control Kordo, and now all of it was his. True, the opposition still presented a threat, but a minor one. He smiled at Mary Kordo, daughter of the late President, who was hang one to his arm. She had seen the light and had helped the Red Hand win, unlike her brother who had seized control of the Loyalist forces. Richard shook his head. Not everyone was as smart as he.

Northern Kordo
Rick Kordo sleeping when his guards woke him. Once again, it was time to keep moving. Being the leader of the rebellion put him at substantial personnel risk, a fact that had little impact on Rick’s mind. His problem was the constant travel. His guards were trained to protect him at all costs, which in their minds meant constant moving about lest the government discover his position. While this did allow him to meet personally with many regional Loyalist commanders, the fact that he never was allowed to stay in one place for more than a day was starting to drain him physically and mentally.

He stumbled into the shower hoping the cold water would wake him up. Maybe that was their plan. Rick thought, Let me die of sleep-deprevation. That would certainly make an interesting news flash; “Loyalist Leader Dies of Lack of Sleep!” Rick snorted. Richard Jo’ha, the bastard that he was, would love to hear that.

Putting on his clothes he went downstairs to the kitchen where, nestled in a newspaper was his old mentor Henry Rey.

“Rey! What are your doing hear you son-of-a-gun?” asked Rick as he got a cup of coffee, the pleasure of seeing an old friend evident in his voice.

“I didn’t know I needed a reason to see the grandson of my best friend. I thought I was merely entitled to some eccentrics in my old age.” replied Henry as he gave Rick a hug.

“I’m not complaining Henry, I’m just surprised our escorts allowed both of us in the same room. You know how they are about security, and keeping the government from being able to bag more that one leader at once.”

Henry snorted “Neither your grandfather or your father could make me change my mind, so you think a couple guards could? Besides,” Henry continued, a slight smile forming one his face, “I stole one of their cars, so their options were run me off the road or follow me.”

Rick laughed. “Somehow I’m not surprised you pulled something like that. But you’ve never really been one to do things one a whim, have you?”

“You cut to the chase boy, just like your grandfather, God rest his soul. No, I came to warn you that I may be leaving Kordo for good.”

Rick nearly dropped his coffee on the floor. “What?! What are you talking about Henry?”

“Don’t worry boy, I’m not defecting and I’m not giving up one Kordo either. I’m going to try to find us some allies so that we can kick the Red Hand’s ass once and for all.”

“But” Rick stuttered, “can’t you do that from here? I don’t understand why you have to abandon Kordo, just to find us allies. We need you to lead us, to guide us!”

Henry sighed. “Rick, I am seventy years old. I’m not cut out for this life. I can’t go gallivanting around the country like you can. Besides, you’re the one people think when they think about the Loyalist forces. I maybe the official head of the opposition, but you’re the one who leads the Protestant Army, and not just the militant branch either. The fact is you don’t need me anymore to lead the Loyalists.”

“I’m not sure I’m ready.” Admitted Rick.

“Boy, if I didn’t think your ready, I wouldn’t have put you in this position. Besides, your twenty-four years old, you don’t need someone to hold your hand anymore. Take charge, take command, and kick Richard Jo’ha in the ass once and for all.”

Attention All Peace Loving Nations!

[i]As you may or not know, a few months ago opposition groups lead by a terrorist group called the Red Hand seized power in Kordo and killed the President Jack Kordo II. However, this government has done so by killing innocent civilians and widely oppression the rights of Kordoan’s regardless of their political affiliation.

So, today on behalf of all Loyalists in Kordo, those who remain true to the old government, I beseech you to help free Kordo from oppression and help return it to its former majesty.

ooc: Some things to keep in mind if you get involved:
The Red Hand, which lead the current government is communist and lead by Richard Jo’ha.
Loyalists are supporters of the former regime.
The PA (Protestant Army) is the largest of the Loyalist organizations.

Sincerely,

Emperor Catsendt was kind of annoyed. His army had done nothing for years, and now all of a sudden, everything was happening at once to make up for lost time. Those dolts in Sharo needed their country rebuilded, and he couldn't resist helping to kill some more commies. Who knew what else was going to get stirred up to steal some more of his forces? He wanted to help out, but he didn't know how many forces he would need to send. If they only needed a few, he could send the elite special forces. If not, he would have to send a real group to fight. He sent a wire:

Hey, it's Emperor Catsendt from Maniaca. I heard that you need some help busting up some dirty communists over in Kordo. Right now our army has some other stuff going on, but I do believe we can spare some troops. How many men do you think would be necessary to make a difference in the fight? In Maniaca we have an elite special forces group of ten people. They would not be cut out well for an actual battle, but they would be exceptional when it comes to hurting the enemy from behind. They are experts at infiltration and espionage. If you need more people, the Maniacan Groundborne Sqaud is an exceptional group of soldiers more than capable of winning every battle the engage. Depending on how many people are necessary, they would be shipped out with enough food and supplies for several months, as well as enough med supplies suitable for a fair amount of action within that time. Beyond then, I do believe access to your own army's supply lines would be necessary to keep them running. So in summary, before we get involved, I would like an estimate of how many soldiers would be necessary to have any impact on the battle. Feel free to fudge the numbers a little bit too.

Hand Delivered Message to Jagada Leadership

We thank you for your offer of support and heartily accept. Your ships will be meet by Admiral Kevin Lotam who commands the Loyalist fleet. It is my understanding that the fleet is running low on supplies, so any that you could afford to spare would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

To President in Exile Rick Kordo from the Congressional Leadership Committee(CLC) of Scellia. The members of the Leadership Committee have heard the stirring within your nation and are concerned about the continued stability in your region. Loyalist Forces, the time has come to free your oppressed country from the reins of the tryrannical grip of the so called Communist government. We need locations for landing of troopships and airdrops of paratroopers, our fleets will sail as soon as we have locations. Please send either maps or coordinates where resistance will be light or nonexistant for large numbers of troops and vehicles. (A Scellian Army has 250,000 personnel, and however many tanks/support vehicles go with that 250K personnel in the Armored Armies[I'll tell you actaul numbers during the invasion]. I use personalized tanks and APC's so I'll send you that stats on them later. Its been a while since I updated my inventory so I get to have fun making up new weapons platforms. So the rebel are lookng at an intial wave of 5 Million soldiers and 100K tanks, APCs and other vehicles[not nesesarily combat]) As soon as we have the word we will commence with a massive bombardment of all major military bases, you shall be freed!

So the rebel are lookng at an intial wave of 15 Million soldiers and 500K tanks and APCs

ooc: Erm....isn't that rather excessive? I'm worried that since your sending 15 million people to my country (which is larger than my total army and marine core combined) that you might have some....logistical problems? Just supporting another fifteen million people and five hundred thousand veichels is going to be extremely hard to do in a average country, much less in one that is wracked by war. Not to mention just moving them to Kordo. I would tone down the numbers if you want to get involved.

ooc:
The original government was hard-core conservative/right-wing, but usually stayed in the boundries of the laws (which admitidly gave lots of lee way to the government). The laws tended to be harsher than the average nation, but nothing extremly horrible, nothing like RL saddam or Stalin. The communists as of yet are extremly oppressive, mostly just to keep order. They have yet to make any massive economic changes in Kordo but thats mostly because they have been to busy trying to stay in power.

The calmness of the sea, truly a great sight, thought Admiral Bradley. Bradley had just returned to the bridge from praying; before each war, conflict, or engagment he was to be involved in, he prayed, he himself was a Prodistant Christian. Most of his prayers consisted of requesting that his be kept safe, and that those who's time had come go peacefully. He personally objectived to the current conflict, the "liberation" of Kordo from the Communist regime. However, his loyalty to the state far surpassed his own personal beliefs. He was, however, glad to hear that he was made overall naval commander of both the 1st and 2nd Jagadian Grand Fleets, though the army detachments were under the commander of Field Marshall Hughes.

"Current position," asked Bradley to no one in particular.

"We are currently seventeen miles outside of Kordo territorial water, sir," stated one of the sailors.

Bradley knew all too well what was going to occur on Kordo, a great deal of bloodshed, some Bradley strongly rejected. He chuckled, sometimes he wondered how he became an admiral despite having such bitter feeling towards war. It was probably because even though he had that bitterness, that he didn't want young men and woman going into foriegn countries under the command of an incompetant.

"Continue coarse, send out scouts into enemy territorial waters, I want no surprises, attempt to locate the Loyalist Fleet," stated Bradley.

{OOC: Here are the exact numbers in my fleets:

1st Jagadian Grand Fleet
JGFS Void (Aircraft Carrier)
JGFS Cutlass (Battleship)
JGFS Cruelty (Battleship)
JGFS Servant (Battleship)
JGFS Paladin (Battleship)
JGFS Screaming Raider (ASW Destroyer)
JGFS Thunder of the East (ASW Destroyer)
JGFS Sea's Slave (ASW Destroyer)
(5) Johnson-Class AA Destroyers
(8) McDonough-Class ASW frigate
(5) Pasteur-class hospital ship

2nd Jagadian Grand Fleet
JGFS Heir (Aircraft Carrier)
JGFS Trinity (Battleship)
JGFS Truth (Battleship)
JGFS Kindness (Battleship)
JGFS Clarity (Battleship)
JGFS Blade (ASW Destroyer)
JGFS Sacred Revolution (ASW Destroyer)
JGFS Marvelous (ASW Destroyer)
(5) Johnson-Class AA Destroyers
(8) McDonough-Class ASW Frigates
(5) Pasteur-class hospital ship

All of these ships are of foreign design, so I'm fairly sure they're pretty good. If you would like, I'll find the statistics for each one, I have to do it anyway.

I'll have the land forces soon enough. I haven't yet organized my army. Sorry.}

The combined battle groups will give Kordo 5,000 veteran infantry units and 394 IFV and Light tanks to work with, all well equipped. We wish the best of luck to Kordo, and offer more assistance if needed. Give the command of where our forces should land, and they will arrive within a week's time under your control until the conflict's end.

Lieutenant General Jose Stahl, commander of the Red Hand troops stationed in the island of Kordo City, flinched involuntarily as a shell landed nearby. The attack had come as a complete surprise. The Loyalist fleet that had been surrounding Kordo City hadn’t had enough troops to invade up until this point, and it seemed that the Loyalist forces wouldn’t ever had been able to muster enough troops to invade and maintain their positions on the mainland.

However, it seemed he was wrong. Elite Waffen SS Heimwehr along with an unknown enemy had already taken a large portion of the island and showed no signs of stopping. So, he had consolidated his men into a last ditch defensive position. Even then it was unlikely to succeed, just as it was unlikely for him to get reinforcements. The Loyalist fleet had kept him from getting any significant amount of reinforcements, so the same battered and blooded force that had taken Kordo City was left to defend it.

Rick Kordo, who just hours ago was crowned Emperor of Kordo was catching up on his reading. Status reports from various units around Kordo showed just how close to losing again the Loyalist forces came. Just a few last ditch efforts had allowed them to win.

Of course the El Caudillo forces were a Godsend, but it was the continued fury of his men and generals that had allowed him to prevail. After all, the reason the Loyalists lost control of the government in the first place wasn’t lack of military prowess or lack of leadership. Their mistake was losing touch with the common man. They forgot that the common man didn’t care about oppressing the communists or riding the country of atheists, they cared about things like job security and knowing their families were safe. The communists promised that and never fulfilled those promises. That is what allowed the Loyalists to take power. Not military strength, not moral superiority or blind faith, but promising a future to the common man.

The battle had been long and hard, the journey tiring. Even with the help of the El Caudillo forces, it still took many months for victory to arrive. But it had come at last, and the Kordoan people were better for it. They, along with the surviving members of the Loyalist government had wanted, no demanded his taking of the Imperial title. At first he resisted, but eventually he gave in. He was now Emperor Rick Kordo of Kordo.
