The Infinite Crucible

Father’s Square was filled. At its northern there stood a tremendous building. At the buildings fore there was an enormous set of stairs, very much like those of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. From there the building shot many hundreds of feet into the sky and along with this many hundreds of feet below the earth deep into the bedrock. This enormous structure had formally been home and workplace of the Emperor. For centuries his line had ruled the country, a country that never saw their own leaders face. Only the highest and most pious government officials had the unimaginable honor of standing before the Emperor. The Emperor had ruled the country for centuries with an iron fist, but all that ended three months ago.
Father’s Square was filled. Shoulder to shoulder men stood, soldiers, motionless. A great mass of flesh, humanity, covered Father’s Square’s surface. The thing was, each and every man their, heartless elite soldier from every branch of the military, lacked just that, humanity. One would have sooner taken the stone they stood on as an eternal friend that any man or woman their. This bristling mass covered the entirety of the square, save a single corridor carved from their cold numbers.
A short somber motorcade rolled through this opening towards the building that held no name, the Emperor’s former structure. The lead car stopped and its black tinted window doors slowly opened. Out came four grim terrible men that slowly approached the podium and took their places around it. The second car came to a stop and four more men stepped from it. After them came three men, more human than all the rest. One was James Hollisburg, the new President. Another was Rex Isenberg, the new Vice President. The final was Patrick Leviticus, the People’s Head. These men had filled the void left by the Emperor.
Three months ago the Emperor had stepped down. There was no forewarning, no decline in his power. In fact he was at a four year high in overall approval, but he stepped down. It sent ripples of shock throughout the entire nation. What came after words was a thing of legend. He facilitated the creation of a democracy. A month ago the final constitution was ratified and approved by the Emperor and the first ever election in the history of The Infinite Crucible was held. These three men were elected into the executive branch. After that first election the Emperor simply disappeared. No further words came from him and all of his top advisors disappeared along with him. These three men were elected to fill the void. This was their inauguration.
With long steps President Hollisburg climbed the set of stairs and approached the podium. All around camera’s powered up, tape began to wind. Isenberg and Leviticus took their places at his side as Hollisburg gripped the sides of the podium. Hollisburg was hit with an unimaginably wave of emotion. He was standing where the Emperor’s Voice had made proclamations for centuries. He was in control. Then reality hit him, he wasn’t in control. His heart sank and he felt as if he was slowly dying, he began his speech. All around the country people tuned in, this was their man.
Some people thought differently. It was a dark smoky room and two men cloaked in the shadows watched the flickering television. They both knew what was really going on.
“The Emperor, well he’s a lot smarter than we gave him credit for,” the first man started.
The second replied, “Yes he is, but where will he take this?”
OOC: There really isn't any way to get involved just yet, but their will be soon enough. If you can think of something truly creative or what not feel free to RP though. This is sort of an intro thread as almost no one knows me.
