Traitor amongst Traitors (Attn. Coreworlds)

The black robes billowed about him, shrouding his form as he looked across sheer cliffs towards a sea, that raged and bubbled as though it were his own anger. He smirked wryly; his face hidden behind an ancient death mask, his identity concealed.

How long had it been since he had come to rest, hidding on this desolate world. He knew no news from his Father's Empire; or the fate of his Master's new order. He worried, in his heart, that things had not progressed as planned.

The Coreworlds, however, were a different affair; and now, waiting for the dark Lady, Nightshade to make herself known; he brooded on what part he would have to play in this galactic saga.

Chronos: Primarch, Sith, Warrior...Outcast.

OOC: Chronos, I'm having the two have a pair of twins (1 year old now, just like Travis). We'll also have to work with US on this. Damned writer's block...

If she had her way, he would have no part at all. Lady Nightshade, Dark Lady of the Sith, mother of a pair of twins, brooded on many matters. Utmost is the status of the Coredian people, currently under the yoke of the Empire. With her brother gone and the Twins -the only possible threat to her, as she knew Grandfather would be too old- unaccounted for at the moment, she felt that the time would soon be ripe to rule the Coreworlds. After all, the people demand the Masakis return to power. She would fill that demand. The only question is...how? The Dark Lady would need to take into account her Master, Emperor Palpatine, as well as figure out a way to remove Chronos as an obstacle to her power. She brooded some more, and walked through the village she has taken control of. The people cowered before her, granting her the fear and respect she deserved. As they should.

Ruling a village is all well and good, and she learned the finer points of subjucating a people with the Dark Side here, but she wanted more. She would get more. No matter the cost...

Treachery is the way of the Sith; their art, their mode and modus. This Chronos knew; knew that with precious genetics, superior genetics, harvested, that he was notihng more than an obstacle. He had his Legion, those Sith troops still loyal to him. He was imbued with the Power he had long sought at the Valley; but so was she. he knew that when she came, he must be ready; and no matter how he wished it, he could not trust her.

Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely...How far would she go in pursuit of such power?

As far as necessary...as far as necessary. After all, he remains a threat to her power. There would be little time to waste. Lady Nightshade left her children with a trusted servant (with the uncompromising knowledge of what would happen if they were harmed), and set off to find her dear consort with her speeder and necessities. The Dark Side would aid her in her search, and so she places her faith in it. She would confront her lover, and slay him, as a black widow spider slays her mate. Indeed...treachery is the way of the Sith.

Chronos sat upon the edge of a great cliff; eyes closed as he faced the water; honing his mind, preparing his soul, his skill being harnessed. He knew that she was approaching. Treachery she had, but such power knew precious little of subtlty to thhose who had tasted it up close.

"I wondered when you would get here. I was beginning to think you had lost the nerve to come before...Dearest."

The last word was spat forth, stinking of sarcasm and hatred

"Why would I? After all, I must see my dear husband once more." Nightshade disembarked her speeder. "There is much to talk about...my love."

"Is there, really?" He rose, turning to face her. His dark armor bore the marks of countless battles; his face showed the scars. He had come so far, accomplished and seen much. He would not have it end this way.
"And what draws you here, from your children- from our children"

he let that statement stand.

"I am not some toy for you to throw away once expended. I made you what you are; turned you, aided you; enpowered you. Would you truly forget all of that? They are my children as much as yours; the valleys legacy; scions of its inheritence."

Nightshade chuckled ruefully. "Oh, no dear. I would never forget what you have done for me. You have done well, and I would like to reward you...personally." Considering it's their anniversary, it seems to fit well.

"Silver? No. Much better..." Nightshade smiled. Her eyes flashed sickly yellow for a moment, then she lashed out. Not with her lightsaber, for he would defeat her with it, but with her mental powers. She was the strongest mentalist in her family, perhaps the strongest in the Order. She learned forbidden telepathic attacks from her own mother, also a strong mentalist. She was admonished never to use her powers for evil, only in the gravest of circumstances.

Well, my mother. This appears to be quite grave. She smiled as she lashed out with blow after blow of telepathic energy upon her consort, preparing for her most powerful and deadliest technique: The Shattering of the Mind...

Chronos was not some mere Sith; he had been engineered to be one of the greatest of Humanity's Warriors; and one of the greatest Sith, but even he was caught off guard by Nightshade's formidible mental power. He lashed out with warp spawned psychic blasts, forcing his mind to attack with every ounce of his dark side power.
"Traitorous bitch!" He hissed, striking out at her with gauntleted hand. "You think I can just be thrown aside, destroyed? I am eternal! You....You will not destroy me!"

The Sith Lady ducked the backhanded blow and merely chuckled. "You are a threat to me and an obstacle to power. I can destroy you, and I will. But I won't simply destroy you. Instead, I will do far worse..." She hissed, and like a wave of darkness, her mind pushed aside the feeble psychic blasts and smashed into her consort's, drilling into it, opening it to all. She would reveal all that he knows, rip it from his mind, and use the knowledge for herself...

OOC: Methinks there's knowledge of how to control the Sith army Chronos has...*evil grin*.

Telepathic attacks are a double-edge sword, as Nightshade just found out. Her mind took the attack and as she gritted her teeth in pain and concentration, she redoubled her attack, forcing herself through the counterattack, reaching for his memories, the useful ones...

OOC: Tell me what she will find. Everything, of course. *evil cackle*

He tried to force the thoughts from his mind; the locations of the Valley, Drummond Kaas, the army, its locations; tactics, command codes, all poured freely from his ruptured mind. He screamed, perhaps in futility as he crashed to the ground; the great warrior decimated by her intricate and extensive rape of his mind.
"Never...Take them..." He mouthed, lashing out against her with the last of his physical and mental strength
I'll tear out your eyes! I'll kill you

The last of the energy from Chronos caused a scar to form on Nightshade's face, narrowly missing her left eye. In revenge, and having concluded the rape of his mind, she focused the Dark Side upon the mind of the Primarch...and Shattered it like transparisteel under a sledgehammer. A normal person would die from the brain aneurysm that would result. A more resilent mind like that of a Jedi Master's or Chrono's...

Amnesia is the least of Chrono's problems. He would experience total loss of self, able only to act like a young child and take orders from Nightshade. He would barely have control of his great powers. In short, he would put the mindless in mindless slave. He would still be of use, even now. I could mold him to my will...

This is the fate far worse than death that Nightshade had in store for him. And soon, his death would be complete, for he would be destroyed by either Nightshade, or if she was lucky, one of her family members, once she has no further use of him...which would be soon.

"No..." He whispers, and then is gone; sanity and intellect wiped clean by her awesome power. Such an end...Such an end he had never considered for himself.

Nightshade's attack took a toll on her. That she knew and would take some time to recover. But it was done. Chronos was hers to command. Hers to shape and mold into a deadly fighting machine. If nothing else, he would be useful in tying up the Jedi while her real plan is put in place. She regarded him.

"Listen well, Chronos. You are my right hand. My executor. You shall be the instrument of my will. Do you understand?"

"Soon, you will go out and destroy the remaining members of my estranged family. But not presently." Nightshade said. "I have a call to make..."

Lady Nightshade went over to her speeder bike and found the comlink. She pressed buttons until it was a secure link, then turned a signal, bouncing it through a nearby relay satellite. The satellite collected the signal, increased it's strength, then sent it through hyperspace...towards Coruscant, towards the Imperial Palace.

"My Lord, this is Lady Nightshade. I have news to impart upon you..." She spoke through the comms.

Even as her call went out, she sensed a disturbance in the Force. Her Master has compelled her to go in person. Alone. She would obey...

She cut off the comms and went to Chronos. "Chronos. You will wait here for your army. The Emperor has summoned me..."

Before he would reply, she hopped onto her speeder bike and sped off to her personal ship. Soon, she arrived at the Lamda shuttle and her pilot started it up. "To Coruscant, Pilot."

"Yes, Mistress." The pilot acknowledged and took her into space and into lightspeed for the Imperial Palace.

The army rained from the heavens; transports dragging searing trails across azure skies; scorching the beautiful roof of the world. They came to him, black in their devotion; powerful in their arrogant might; their armies ready to serve.

"We await the orders of the Mistress" Chronos hissed. "We belong now to her, and shall wrench Coreworlds from the light; we shall scorch every world; we shall burn every city; each and every Jedi shall die; hated and alone. They shall burn and we shall consume the ashes of their Empire."

Like a black raven, the Dark Lady's shuttle descended upon the world. First, it landed in Nightshade's home to pick up the servants, top guards and children of the Dark Lady. Then it flew towards Chronos' position and landed.

"My Executor, I see your army is vast and powerful." Nightshade managed to suppress an evil laugh. "I suggest we...test it. Raze every city, village and town on this world to the ground. No one must survive. Understood?"

"As you wish, my lady" And the army obeyed him, her will done through his actions as it scattered forth, headed to do her will; to cleanse the very world of life, as he remained, kneeling before her.

"I am your servant in all things; and your will, dark and terrible shall be done. One by one we shall snuff out the lights; they are your army now; I am but a part of it...I shall kill everything, everyone; all in your name...."

Screams soon erupted from the countryside as the armies descended upon the people of the planet like a plague. There was no escape. Men fought, but were torn apart by bolter and chainsword, women were killed after being raped. Sport was made of the children, who tried to run, but were shot and killed or skewered in sprays of blood by powerswords. Many were herded into buildings and burned to ashes. In short, the sword of death struck all who lived on the planet until blood ran freely in the streets. And in a final act of destruction, the cities themselves were razed to the ground by the orbiting spacecraft, boimbarding until the ground cracked and lava oozed freely.

Lady Nightshade smiled and drank in the power of death, the psychic reverbration in the Force of so many deaths as her Executor stood by, waiting for his next orders. In time, the armies withdrew from the planet, leaving nothing but a wasteland desert. No life will ever live on this planet again...
