With the passing of a ban on chemical and biological weapons, Darkumbria sits on a dangerous edge. Numerous neighbors are seeing the small nation as highly vulnerable. The Emperor of Darkumbria, Dark Wolf, speaks:

“My fellow countrymen, regional neighbors, UN nations, and the universe at large: Make no mistake, in spite of the passage of these two, damning, resolutions to all nations sovereignty, Darkumbria stands strong and able to protect itself. Chemical and biological weapons are being dismantled as I speak to you today. Currently, the Darkumbrian military is working with the UN on the verified removal of all banned weapons. But, this in no way effects the production of the Wolfhound, the Trout bomb, the tactical, and global nuclear weapons that Darkumbria has stockpiled. Indeed, our troops are more able to handle any threat, foreign or domestic. In order to preserve the Confederacy, I have ordered a heightened state of alert for the military. All passes are, hereby, cancelled until further notice.”
“To the UN: Darkumbria considers the removal of these weapons a serious breach of Darkumbrian national security. Darkumbria calls for the repeal of these resolutions quickly, before universal security is called to question.”
“To my neighbors: Make no mistake, Darkumbria is able to defend itself and is ready to do the same, should it be necessary.”
“That is all”
DW wiped the sweat from his brow. He told an advisor, ”Oh how I hate those lights. I hope no one misunderstood the sweat for fear. If they did, we will have issues. And soon. Get a hold of General McCaslin and get her to my office, now.” The advisor ran off in search of a secure phone to find the General.

The phone rings
“Hello? Yes, this is General McCaslin. Yes, I understand. I am on my way.”
The General hangs up on the advisor and calls her aide.
“Henry, get the airport on the line. Tell them that I am taking off in a few minutes. I need the most direct route secure and clear to the palace. Before that, get ahold of my pilot and tell him to warm up the chopper. I am on my way.”
The General hangs up the phone, picks up her reports and stuffs them in a bag. Her personal communicator rings.
“General McCaslin”
“General, this is Lt. Shepard. I am standing by. We have a full clear flight plan to the Palace. Be advised, the Emperor has ordered a no fly zone around the palace, and security is tight.”
“Right. Be right there.”
She walked out of her office.
“Henry, stay here. I may need information. Get Lt.O’Reilly to meet me on the chopper.”
“Already done, ma’am. He should be there by now.”
She hurried to the chopper, meeting O’Reilly on the way. She took the helmet from him and donned it on the way to the chopper.
