In response to growing interests of the Endorsenites in establishing formal diplomatic relations with the Eshirian Sovereignty, the Sov, Diplomatic Corp, in accordance with the Republic Senate's approval has recently sent a standard X0-1 cruiser to transport the Sovereignty's top diplomat, Tsu'chin, who has just finished negotiating with New Dornalia, to the Endorsenite home world.

(OOC: Simple start, but it should be fine.)

"..... Dale? DALE! TURN THAT JUNK OFF AND GET DOWN HERE!"

"Calm down Sal, you're not the C-O. Do you have something against orchestral rock?"

"No, it was lovely, but, you're a member of the Endorsian Space Defence Force, and supposed to be making sure that ships like that one right out there don't sneak up on us! Now get down here before I decide to open the vents and SPACE YOU!"

"Aight..." he murmered, turning off his music and descending to the command deck. It was a cramped affair, seeing as No Endorse couldn't be spending all of its money on making two man border stations like hotels, but it was sufficient. Sitting down next to Sal, he activated a control panel and examined the screen, and began flipping through different menus and displays. "What have we here? Hmm... Eshirian ship? Diplomatic tags.... Ah yes, foreward information to high command... processing............... ah damn, the Methane Lakers lost again..."

"Was it another wipeout?" asked Sal, looking up from her tracking panel.

"Yep, fifty points... Here we go. 'Make standard diplomatic contact and direct them to Sanctuary?' Righto, you wanna send it Sal?"

"Eh, the standard message sucks, I'll send mine."

Eshirian diplomatic vessel, this is No Endorse Border Outpost Alpha-52.

Welcome to No Endorse space, from here on out we'll take care of you. We are glad to see that there are others who come out here some time, it's pretty lonely on border patrol.

Attatched to this databurst are the coordinates of Sanctuary, the homeworld. They have been notified of your present location and what we project to be your arrival time. There are also some maps of local space, so you can find your way around pretty well, but when in doubt, ask.

This was Endorsian Patrol Officer Sal Goss, and me and my partner Dale wish you safe travel in Endorsian space.

"You think high command will kill us for that?"

"Nah, why waste the fuel, time, and energy just to come all the way out here and blow this worthless little station up? They'll just 'forget' a few resupplies or something."

Tsu'chin reviewed the message.

"Well, they seem friendly enough."

Tsu looked over the last portion of the message, and motioned at the pilot.

Tsu: "Did that navigational data come in?"
Pilot: "Yes, ma'am. I've got a course plotted. ETA is 10 minutes at current velocity."
Tsu: "Great. Inform me on regularly on our position. Oh, and get this message back out to that outpost."

---Holo-net stream---
"This is Tsu'chin, ambassador of the Eshirian Sovereignty and representative of our interests in this area. I thank you for your hospitality, and the provided information was most welcome. I do hope that all your great peoples are as generous and thoughtful as you are.

I do wonder however, will we be expecting any escorts from your security forces on our way through your sovereign territory?"

"Eh... Dale, call in the two closest pickett ships and tell high command that they're leaving their patrols for escourt duty."

"You sure? Okay..."

"I'll send them a message."

Eshirian diplomatic vessel, this is No Endorse Border Outpost Alpha-52.

Sorry about that, I forgot to mention escourt. We're currently calling in two MC-40 class pickett ships to bring you in. They should arrive at any moment. A small portion of their fighter complement will be deployed and be hypering with you, the rest being carried onboard to save fuel. Interestingly enough, they appear to each be carrying a squadron of Drakken fighters that we purchased from you. When they arrive, they will jump with you to the homeworld, and take you in from there.

Tsu chuckled a bit at their hurried response.

She decided to open a comlink to speed things up. While thinking of what to say, she sat down in the co-pilot's seat, and used her mind to order the AI to open a PsiCommu-link to the incoming ships.

However, first, she sent another message.

---Holo-net Data Stream---

"Understood Alpha-52. We'll surely have more confidence with our own designs protecting us. Refering to those two ships, please relay to them that they should expect a direct com-link request momentarily."

Sal relaxed in her chair, and forewarded the message to the two incoming ships. After recieving confirmations from both captains, she sent off a reply to the Eshirian vessel.

Message Acknowledged. They will have all communications systems online as soon as they enter system.

Captain Ferrington of the Dasher and Captain Bowler of the Posey are very competent men, and declined multiple promotions to remain with their crews, even if their ships have to be pressed into border patrol. They will make sure you get there safely.

Just as the message was sent the two ships entered the area and activated all communications equipment.

Sal relaxed in her chair, and forewarded the message to the two incoming ships. After recieving confirmations from both captains, she sent off a reply to the Eshirian vessel.

Tsu issued a simple "Thank you" to the outpost, and cut comm.

She turned around to her pilot, who had also just recently delivered her to the highly successful talks with the New Dornalians in the Central Worlds.

Tsu: "Well, do I still look ok?"
Pilot: "Eh..."

The pilot, named Kin'lien took a glance at her. She was quite beautiful by Eshirian standards, and she was dressed in her typical somewhat relaxed, if not more casual clothes. The pilot had always held a secret his feelings for her, which was an amazing feat as all Eshirians could sense emotions. What made it even more amazing was that he could hide such strong emotions, and from a trained diplomat who was conditioned to be able to sense emotions far better than the average Eshirian.

Kin blushed a little, and responded, "I think you look fine."
Tsu studied him for a moment. "Alright, if you say so."

A few aids who had been in the next room walked in.

Tsu glanced at the sensor readouts. "Well, looks like they're here."

"Captain Ferrington? The Posey confirms that you shall be commanding the escourt mission. Also we are getting a transmission on that new gadget the geeks threw in back at base. I just wish they'd kept the old communications arrays, those were better."

"Oh well, Patch it through to my station."

"Aye sir."

Captain Ferrington's green eyes lit up as he activated a large console. Few active ships still had these master control terminals mounted in the bridge, but he had personally requested that one remain on the bridge, and a duplicate made in engineering. Shortly, the console was churning out the message.

"Greetings, this is Tsu'chin, ambassador of the Eshirian Sovereignty. I understand that you are both here to escort us to you homeworld?"

Ferrington's eyes lit up even more than before as the message rolled, and he began his reply on an all-access transmission sent to all present.

"Yes. I am Captain Marus Ferrington of the NES Dasher, and I will be the commanding officer of this escourt operation. Captain Greg Bowler of the Posey shall be my assistant. Our ships are both MC-fourty model cruisers retasked to pickett duty. As for fighters, as the lovely Sal Goss has already pointed out, we are using Draken class fighters purchased from your nation. Eight will be deployed, four from each ship. Four more shall be ready to launch from each ship at all times, and four per ship are being inspected, shaken down, and tuned up. Thus far, not a single problem with any of them."

ooc: can he see your character, or is it more a mental or only audio thing?

(OOC: Oops, should mention that in the future. It's more of a link to the ship's AI. Things that Tsu says in thought are converted into audio and transmitted like any other standard signal and recieved with no need for special equipment on the receiving end. Audio and Video this time around. (Part of the reason Tsu asked if she still looked alright.) I'll make things like that clearer in the future, sorry.

Drakens don't ever really need to refuel. That's part of the little bonuses I get with my inertial drives. ^_^ .)

"Hello, Captain Ferrington, I am Tsu'chin. I hear you say that you've encountered no problems at all? The designers at Excel Defense Co. really outdid themselves this time. Glad to hear it. Your flight plans are understood, and we will follow your lead."

ooc: I'll change the thing about the fighters. As for the comm array, I've never had an overhaul, so it could just be a new version that the officer hates lol.

IC: Captain Farrington was quite surprised to see the woman on the other end. He had always imagined Eshirians as looking much different, but no matter. She is quite lovely... wonder if that's how most Eshirians look... dang, gotta snap out of it and get to work. I've got a mission... Ferrington was almost trapped in his own thoughts, but managed to quickly recover.

"Yes they did outdo themselves, and our techies love their craft to death. Standbye for our mark to hyper out, assuming your drive is ready. We'll tell you more when we get there, but I'd like you to see the system for yourself first. You can slave your craft over to our computers or fly on your own. The coordinates are attatched, and we'll be going at a 3X hyperdrive factor. Prepare to leave."

Tsu was somewhat unsurprised upon seeing the Human. It wasn't her first time dealing with them after all. She also wasn't surprised at the slightly longer than usual stare that the captain gave. Eshirians had never been seen for a few generations, so a slight disparity between the real, and people's expectations was anticipated.

Tsu didn't make a big deal out of it though.

"Roger that Captain. Our AI can manage I believe, thank you. Just give us a moment to spool up our FTL drive, and...wait, drive configuration's already done. We've got our wormhole open on our end, jump whenever you're ready."

IC:
"Confirmed. You'll get there a little before us if you're using a wormhole, so wait up at the coordinates we gave you. We'll be along about a minute or so behind. Here we go... Sal, hope you get some interesting company soon... MARK!"

And with that, the Dasher and Posey dissapeared into hyperspace, speeding as fast as their fighters could go in order to not leave the diplomats all alone. Ferrington leaned back and smiled, his green eyes still glowing as if lit from within. "Well... now I know what an Eshirian looks like... maybe they'll hit it off well with the others, what do you think Zev?"

The communications officer looked over and grinned. "They'll never figure 'em out sir. From what those elusive guys say, Humans have known them for a bit longer than several thousand years, and we still haven't found out what they call themselves."

IC:

"Understood captain. The Draken fighters should still be eqipped with the same FTL drive as when you bought them no? They should be able to keep up with us."

Tsu turned over and monitored their own Navi Computer.

They've gone to hyperspace. ma'am, I'm not too sure that they heard you." reported the pilot.

"Ah well, I'm sure they'll find that out on their own. And..."

"We're arriving at our coordinates." Interrupted the pilot.

Around their destination, the space warped and folded. With a massive flash of light, and a huge discharge of energy that sparked and crackled like electricity, a small point of light appeared. The tiny point of light instantly and violently expanded and the X0-1 streaked out in a blur, the wormhole still discharging sparks and flashes. The X0-1 was still "spagettified" but quickly shot back into a light that slowly took the form of the outline of the ship. As the light sped forward, the light sheathed off, revealing the ship's actual hull.

"Transit complete." Announced the pilot.

ooc: I'm on the East coast and bloody crazy for staying up that late. As for the elusive guys, I was playing with the idea of intrducing the Eshirians to my other race. What do you think? >_< I need a name though.

Also, what are the stats of your diplomatic ship. I'm wondering what type of docking facilities you'd need.

IC: The cruisers came into realspace close behind the Eshirian cruiser.

Ferrington let the sight of the home system sink in for a few seconds before making contact again. There were small shuttles scurrying everywhere, several large defence platforms were visible orbiting the homeworld, and constant streams of traffic could be seen running to and from stations, moons, planets, and hyper-in zones. In the background, the orange Dragon's Nest nebula ringed the system's bright star, casting an orange glow over the entire area, making an effect like the very surface of passing ships was on fire. Down on the homeworld, city blocks could be seen, but there were still many green spots not yet overgrown. The moons however, were not so lucky, being not only completly built up, but having underground sectors as well

After letting the view set in for a few seconds, Ferrington made contact. "What do you think? There are many who think that Sanctuary is one of the most beautiful systems in the whole nation. I love coming home after spending so long on the frontier... That nebula is called the "Dragon's Nest," and we owe our existance to it. Without it, this system would be burning hot and blinding from the intensity of its star."Ferrington spoke his next statement a bit less ethusiasticly, almost sadly. As he continued, it would have looked like he was ready to cry to a trained observer. "It's falling into the star at the rate of a mile every year, and in the blink of an eye, this system will have to be abandoned, and will be just a bunch of abandoned stripped hulks, devoid of anything besides maybe a two-man listening post."

"Well enough of that," he said firmly, acting like nothing happened, "We'll have to see what's open in terms of docks right now, since according to SanctCom we just had an entire fleet come in early. Looks like it was forced to after having a few collisions coming out of a routine hyperspace jump. No lost hands or ships, but a lot of damage and some ships had to be pulled in the hyperspace wake of the others to make it. Darn AIs need better programming for handling individual ship's navigation, so that they don't try to put ships on top of each other exiting hyper... By the way, how long is your vessel? Can you take artificial gravity like might be present in a large platform hangar? Or is it a better idea to put this ship in a zero gravity vacuum dock? Looks like we got a full hangar and a few nullo slips free on platform two."

(OOC: I never decided to make any actual stats for the ship, but I guess you should just assume that it's like every other Eshirian vessel, almost ridiculously advanced, and tough, but since this is a diplomatic ship, it only has extreme shielding, like multi-layered regenerative PPAD shields and the like, but no weapons. Think of that diplomatic ship in Episode I, except far more advanced.)

{It's very impressive...} thought Tsu. {...very beautiful...} Tsu sat in wonder for a while. The love of the stars (Heh, ya'know, it's in my history.) was very strong in Tsu, and it was one of the reasons that she took a space post in the Diplomatic Corp. It was a great, if slightly stressful at time, way to see the galaxy

The bad news of the hyperspace accident, soured the mood slightly, but gave Tsu something to entice the Endorsinites with. She spoke up.

"Better AI? That's something that we can provide, should these negotiations go well. That, and you little predicament of losing your system to your own sun I know can be solved with a bit of help from our technology. A simple manipulation of the space around your world can solve this problem quite easily. As for our ship, we can handle whatever is more convenient for you. You have had an accident after all."

Ferrington looked quite pleased with the idea of better AIs, but the idea of saving the system brought an incredibly obvious twinkle of hope into his eyes.

"Well, I'm just a little starship captain in a patrol craft, so I'm not sure what type of AIs the high foreheads get to play with, but I do know that a newer model on our line and picket ships would be greatly appreciated across the board. As for preventing the loss of the nebula, if you can do that... I don't know, but that'd definatly be something. It's projected that it will be so far gone we'll have to begin evacuating in less than five hundred years at the rate it's accelerating... That'd be something.

Accident or no, hospitality should always be given to guests. Hmm... I've just gotten confirmation from SanctCom that I can take your ship into platform two's hangar. A pressurized dock like this is much more enjoyable, trust me. Also, that appears to be where they want us escourts to dock for resupply, overhaul, and a short on-station shore leave. Follow us, the Posey will follow behind. You'll have to stay kinda close though, otherwise there'll be some traffic problems. People seem to want to ride in each other's engine wash for some reason. We'll all three fit in this hangar, but no one else will get anything smaller than a shuttle in after we dock, so we get the whole hangar to ourselves, and probably the station too. Aside from the crew of course. Just follow us."

Tsu could easily feel the captain's happyiness at the good news, however, it didn't take a mind reader to read his expression.

"Roger that Captain. I'll be looking forward to finally meeting you in person."

Tsu turned to the pilot.

"Can..."

"Already done ma'am."

"... Ok then! Sit back and enjoy the ride I guess."

The ship's AI, which the pilot had just ordered, slowly took the ship into formation with the other two ships, and followed behind Ferrington's lead ship.

The small convoy powered through the system from the hyper-in zone. After passing a small and aging defence platform with unreadable and smuged letters on it, they began to pass the moon dubbed Sanctuary One. Once they got around it, some of the great colony sations came into view, slowly spinning to create artificial gravity. After passing through multiple lanes of intra-system traffic, they finally neared the giant platform dubbed 'Sanctuary Defence Station Two'. Like a titanic mouth, it's hangar doors opened up, ready to accept all three charges.

Ferrington opened up one last transmission. "Well, we'll be taking the outer two sections with you in the middle. It's probably best to let us dock first, so you'll have plenty of room in the center area to land. Looks like they're setting out little markers already... useless pieces of junk. The magnetic field shouldn't mess with your shields, but we'd feel more comfortable if you lowered them, so we don't all get spaced on accident. I'll go first on the left, the Posey on the right. See ya inside!"

With that, Ferrington's 500 meter vessel slid inside the hangar and landed on the far left, perfectly in position. The other escourt was not far behind, fitting in the far right in the center of the markers. Everyones attention was now focused on the Eshirian cruiser.

ooc: I am trying to think of a good maximum dimension for the width of these massive station hangars. Does 1 km wide*600 m long*300 m tall sound too large? I only have 7 stations that large, all the others have small hangars for fighters, depressurized slips, and capital ship docking tubes.

EDIT: I g2g to bed, g'night!

"I understand your concern about our shielding, but we'd much rather leave them up. It's nothing personal, just procedure. Don't worry, our shields hug the hull, and don't form a huge bubble around us, and we're also on the landing settings, so if nothing bumps us within one meter, everything will be fine."

Slowly but surely, the X0-1 made its way in between the other two vessels in the landing dock. The four landing anti-grav units on small out-triggers on the sides of the ship were glowing brightly, their shine reflecting brightly even on the dull surface of the platform. The pilot sat at the controls, skillfully guiding the ship with a little help from the AI and the PsiCommu systems in order to prevent any further accidents. The pilot announced the landings progress.

"Five meters...Two meters...one meter..."

The landing AG pads momentarily lit up even brighter as the ship made last minute adjustments in its orientations and finally settled down.

"Clear!"

The control boards around the ship shifted colors to a light green to signify that it was now safe to leave the ship. On the lower hatch, a small force of ESSov guards lined up on either side, rifles at the ready, as they awaited Tsu's arrival on the lower decks.

(OOC: One or two stations that large seem fine by me, but I wouldn't have seven of them around, but then again, the premise is that you're noticably less advanced than us, so seven of such stations at your tech level is absolutely fine. Our military stresses doing the most with the least and most advanced, and therefore we suffer somewhat in terms of numbers, and that's the main resaon why we wouldn't have seven. Not because we don't need them, or wouldn't like having that many.)

Ferrington glanced over at the navigator, and then replied. "Well, if it's that small, we shouldn't get spaced but so badly. There shouldn't be a problem. Come on in, looks like they're waiting for us."

The control boards around the ship shifted colors to a light green to signify that it was now safe to leave the ship. On the lower hatch, a small force of ESSov guards lined up on either side, rifles at the ready, as they awaited Tsu's arrival on the lower decks.

A small delegation waited near the ship's bow, hoping that the hatch wouldn't be in the very stern. They were dressed in traditional uniforms, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs John Archer stood at the head, looking political. Swords, pikes, and even a wire garrot could be seen among the ceremonial weapons, but every guard had a concealed sonic pistol capable of knocking out a whale. No fatal weapons could be risked in diplomatic encounters, but a few headaches were acceptable.

Men began streaming out of the Dasher and Posey, while small parts of their bridge crews wandered over to the diplomatic envoy. Captains Marus Ferrington and George Bowler both greeted John Archer tersely, waiting on the fringes of the group.

ooc: good point, I will probably lower the number to something like four, and have the other three main stations over my homeworld be capital ship docks with zero G slips. I really like pressurized docks, since they're a lot easier to service ships in, and it accomidates multiple types of docking hatches much easier, since you don't need to use docking tubes lol.

The hatch opened, and a light hiss of air could be heard as the atmosphere equalized. The door then quickly shifted up and a a slight flash shined at the door as the previously invisible force field shut down.

Tsu stood in the doorway, and walked out at a normal pace. The ESsovs stood even more upright was she made her way out to greet the Endorsinites.

The Endorsinite Delegation fortunately was in the right place, and Tsu walked right out to meet them.

"Greetings from the Eshirian Sovereignty. I am Tsu'chin, representative of Eshirian interests in this area."

Tsu extended her arm, as was customary among humans.

If you'd like, I will show you and your crew to your quarters to freshen up, unless you'd rather stay onboard your ship. We can start talks at any time, and they can be on any subject you feel is pressing, or just talks."

All this time, John had tried to take in everything around him, noticing the armed guards and space craft, and sizing up the Eshirian diplomat without shifting his pupils from her eyes.

These Eshirians are quite advanced people... this diplomat looks quite young, but I wouldn't be surprised if she was older than I am. I wonder if their mind reader abilities are real? If so, I must be cautious...

ooc: I assumed that she's offering her hand for a hand shake... am I wrong?

(OOC: Nope, you're right about it. John Archer? Like that Enterprise Captain Archer? And lst post for me tonight. Since you're on the same time zone, I think that you already know why.)

Tsu shook his hand and then gently retracted hers.

"Hello Archer." She noticed that his eyes remained fixed on her, but she could sense that John's attention was focused on much more than just her.

{A good steady mind...} Thought Tsu, {These people have some psi potential.}

"I wouldn't mind seeing the rest of your station. It is quite impressive, under any level of advancement."

When she said this, she gave Archer a slight smile. She knew that he had just been thinking of the level of advancement of her people, in addition of being curious about their Psionic abilities. This was her way of dropping a hint.

ooc: There's a captain of the Enterprise named Archer? O_O I'm so far out of date with the new ones...

IC: "Thank you," he responded, "This is one of only a few stations with this style of dock, there are only two in this system and one in the Haven system. Because of our geolocked orbit above Sanctuary's north pole, we'll always have a view of the Dragon's Nest nebula from at least one point in the station. Would you like a breif tour now, or to freshen up first?"

Hmm... very cautious... she is definatly psi. This should prove interesting...

(OOC: Lol, yeah, there is one. The show itself came off to a good start, then just went downhil from there. Too many confusing plot elements for people to think about, as Archer was always wisked away on some journey through time where he would have to save to timeline or something.)

Tsu looked away, and around the station. She had another slight smile as she heard Archer's thoughts.

"No, I make it a policy to be ready for a diplomatic mission right away. We can take the tour anytime you're ready." She said, as she motioned at her aids. The ESsv guards filed down in formation, and marched along behind them. The hatch on the ship sealed shut, while the ship itself finally took it's inertial drives offline.

IC: "Well then, Tsu'chin, let's take a quick look around the station." Archer walked beside her to one of the doors in the hangar. "This is the main hangar on this station. There is one fighter hanger and one shuttle hanger located above sections of this hangar, but they are much smaller." They entered a white, wide, and tall hallway on the edge of the hangar, and headed towards a bank of lift tubes. "We'll have to take an elevator to get to the actual living quarters. Only essential systems, storage, and some backup reactors are on this level." Stepping up to an elevator, he motioned her inside. "Your escourt can follow, but the personel elevators can get a little cramped. My group will be taking another tube, you're free to send some with them or bring them all in this tube. All the larger cargo ones are busy, plus they're not really nice or smooth."

I wonder how she'll respond to this. She will probably suspect something, but if she's Psi, she'll be able to see that they are full. The 'elevator test' was one that had been used for a long time, to get an idea of the personality of the people John was dealing with. There had been varying results, from sheer terror to pure trust, but there had never been a known psi capable being given the test.

Tsu could easily tell that something was up. With ehr eyes, she made a quick survey of the area, closed them for a second, and opened them again. In that quick second, she already saw the plan that Archer and the others had with the elevator. {Very clever...} thought Tsu.

"Well Archer, " Tsu said with a sigh, "I guess that we don't have much choice. Seeing as to how we wouldn't be able to get on any of them anyway..."

ooc: no, only the cargo elevators are full. (and even still... there is some pretty tough acceleration) My guards will be coming in another personel elevator. There is room for some of your guards in the first one, but not all, since these are small elevators. The vast people-movers are at the ends of the hangar.

IC: "Some can come on, there's plenty of room for a few. I'm terribly sorry about this, but these small deals are the standard personel elevators throughout our newer stations. The cargo ones have too much acceleration for use to use, they'd shred our skeletons immediatly, and the large scale people-movers are about half a kilometer off. I'm having my guards come up in that elevator over there, as will Captains Marus Ferrington and George Bowler. I understand Marus were interested in meeting you in person, but that is at your discretion."

ooc: uh... not your fault, I'm being confusing.

The way it works is that the elevators are small. The elevator that Archer and Tsu are in can hold several of your guard group, (I'm assuming you've brought a group of Eshirian guards) in addition to those two, but only a few. Most of the group would have to go up in another elevator if they are to accompany to the next deck. So my guards will be going to the next deck using another elevator. (there's a bank of elevators)

There are larger elevators on the station, but they are either unusuable or not close by.

ooc: no, it's a test to see how she reacts. Some people would get really nervous and try to bring all their guards that they can with them, making a cramped elevator ride, and showing their personal fear. Some would be very trusting and go alone. It's just to get an idea of how the other person responds to new situations. There's no right or wrong way to pass it, just a little mind game to see what type of personality the person has.

Tsu decided to do things simple.

IC:
Ah, she is confident and capable of thinking on her feet. I guess she can sense no danger, and is obviously not afraid to go unescourted. These will be interesting negotiations indeed...

"Well then, step this way." He said, motioning her inside. "I'm sorry about all this, but the elevators are nearly impossible to replace or enlarge." Once the door closed, he began thinking again. Their technology is astounding. I'll need to press some issues concerning the nebula immediatly, to see if we can try to get some help. There are some other matters too... but we'll see. I just hope that I can actually negotiate with a telepath... the thought is quite scary.

He looked over at Tsu'chin, his whole attention now on how she was responding to everything. Of course he couldn't help notice her beauty, but years of training and experience shoved that out of his mind. "Well, the first part I assume you'd like to see is, well, the exterior. We'll go up to the very top of the viewing spire and look down at everything, it's helpful to see the layout. Those taupe hallways always were infuriating. There's always a great view of most everything in the system from this point. It will only be about two minutes to get there, these new lifts aren't as fast as the old ones. Anything you'd especially like to see next?"

"Thank you." Tsu responded as she stepped inside. Once she was inside, she turned to Archer, "These lifts are not much smaller than those in the cruiser we arrived in."

She looked about the lift, taking note of the level of refinement put into each detail of its design, and also taking note of the emotions of those around her. The Psi abilities of the Eshirians made them naturals at interpreting people, and their social organization, while Tsu was rather skilled in relations, it didn't actually take that long to pick up.

Tsu also noticed the ability of each human to control their thoughts quite well, especially Archer and the other male she encountered. It was very obvious to Tsu that they had some very...primal, thoughts running through their minds, but they remained in perfect control. While it seemed to come naturally to humans, Tsu had encountered far too many races where their baser thoughts over took them far too easily. Such simple mental discipline was necessary before any race could develop further Psionically, and these humans already had a one up on half the galaxy. All the while, Archer spoke.

"The nebula that I saw a little while ago? It was very beautiful, I wouldn't mind seeing it again. The tour can continue up to you, I don't mind seeing it any way in particular."

"Oh yes, the Dragon's Nest nebula. It is an oddity, I've never seen another system like ours. Our star is so hot that usually we'd be fried since we're so near to our star. We're only eight light minutes away." The door opens and Archer stepped out onto a small landing in the center of a transparasteel sphere about ten meters in diameter. There were a few steps down to the transparasteel floor, and large reinforcing spars could be seen helping support the sphere. All around, stars twinkled, and on one side the nebula was visible. All below the floor, the planet could be seen where the station didn't interfere. This was the top of the viewing spire, an extremely expensive addition that allowed the viewer to see most of the system.

Turning, Archer continued. "The nebula completly surrounds our star, it absorbs most of the radiation, especually UV, and all of the excess light. We owe our existance to it. Come on, let's take a look around."

Tsu thought for a moment. "We have been among the stars for quite some time. Nearly 3 million years of our history among the heavens is stored in our archives. I'm sure that with a little digging, we could figure something out. However, it's entirely possible that this race was here well over 3 million years ago. We obviously would not be able to discover something then.

Archer almost jumped at hearing news that help was possible, and even all his years of experience had difficulty supressing his excitement. Closing his eyes long enough for Tsu to finish, he refocused on the situation. Even still, he talked slightly faster than he had been. "You think you can help? Our scientists have tried almost everything they can think of with no luck. If you can help us, I'm sure that a trip to the engineering bay would be the absolute least we could do. You see, we believe that the ancients could preserve the nebula, and we're trying to figure out how, along with other research into how it might be possible. There are multiple gutted hulks located at regular intervals surrounding the thing, and we've been trying to get something useful out of them. Unfortionatly... they appear to be stripped of everything useful.

As for the ancients... there are two main theories. What's not debatable is that they are human-like. Some of the hulks still have intact, if depressurized, habitation areas in them, and one contained a few tools that could be used by humanoid hands. One theory is that we are the ancients. There were several ancient disasters alluded to in some of our earliest records that could have knocked our civilization back a long way. The other theory is that there was a war between us and another humanoid species, and that the reprecussions knocked us back, but nearly wiped them out. There are rumors of this race, and several prominant civilians who claim to be members. They aren't saying anything, and refuse an examination to check their story. I believe this theory more, but I have no evidence.

As for daily life, we can just wander anywhere. There isn't a show going on anywhere really. Well, there's one here, since usually there are a few small holoprojectors in here illuminating different objects in the sky for a specialist. That person would communicate with different incoming vessels and operates as a backup for our main communications and sensory stations. We're routing backup through another location currently though, so that we can be in here and not disturb anyone. If you'd like, we can even hold some diplomatic talks here, it's no actual burden."

Tsu felt that very obvious surge of emotion rush through Archer. If this were anime, there would be a very large sweat drop running down her head right about now. But of course, this was the real world, and a nervous laugh was the closest thing...

"Eh, heh, heh... well...I did say it was only possible. Theories or claims credible or not, they deserve to be tested."

Tsu thought for a second about the possiblities of finishing the tour sooner, then continued,

"We'll cover those once we get through some of the more pressing matters. If there's nothing more for now, I'd like to get started on some of the talks for establishing trade routes, and maybe some of that help we can offer for your world."

Archer noticed Tsu's hesitation, and realized the situation. hmm... I must be careful not to repeat this instance, it was almost a problem. But if they can help... I must sound like some primative ape to her, but the thought is exciting.

"Well, what do you have in mind? And would you like something to drink? I'm a little thirsty, and they don't put many water fountains up here."

There was a somewhat awkward pause as Tsu tried to figure out just what to say so that Archer would be a little more at ease. {I don't think that you're primitive. In fact, that's the total opposite!} Tsu thought.

"I don't think that happiness is something to be ashamed of. Not at all. In fact, I personally believe that whole galaxy could lighten up a bit. Eh, about that drink, I'd like that." Tsu replied.

"Excellent. I'd like water right now, but my favorite spirit is the Vodka we can get from Haven." He wandered over to a panel in the wall and pressed it. The plate retracted, revealing a small bar with several bottles, a sink, a few glasses, and a small refrigerator.

As he poured himseld a drink of water from a small bar, he looked up and continued. "What would you like? There are a few bottles up here. I recommend the Vodka, but this red wine here is very nice. Of course we have non-alcoholic drinks too."

Tsu looked at the selection. While the Eshirian people had long since been brain washed out of drinking alcohol, the rest of the galaxy wasn't so, and Tsu was a diplomat, so naturally she had had a drink or two. Besides, if Eshirians ever had a weakness, it must have been their inability to hold their liquor... Tsu knew this all too well...

"Hmmm, Vodka... Alcoholic, is it not? I think I'll stick with whatever other drinks you have. Something as strong as a pure refined spirit I'm not too sure I can handle... Nothing personal."

For once, Tsu found herself being the nervous one, although she did not show it.

Hmm... Eshirians can't hold alcohol well. Better remember that. Heh, something tells me that won't be a good trade option.

"That's just fine." He commented, pouring her some orange liquid from a white carton. "There's some pretty good orange juice here. I don't know what they've started using to fertilize the plants, but it certainly works. This is what I drink every morning. Funny thing is that it is also not the most expensive brand out there. It IS organic though, and you can tell the difference."

Capping everything and wiping up a small bit of water, Archer handed Tsu her glass. "Well, I'm not sure how Eshirians toast, and we usually use alcohol instead of water and orange juice, but..." He paused, raising his glass. "Here's to our two nations. Let us have good relations, and live in peace and prosperity." As soon as he finished, he drained his glass.

"Yes, to hopes of continued peace between our peoples..." Tsu paused, "...and to hopes that I don't mess this whole meeting up." Tsu finished in a joking tone. She felt that a little humor might make things a little less up-tight. She had always found that the best deals came from people who were having a good time. Most likely, this wasn't going to be any different.

Tsu only sipped her glass. "So...where will the negotiations will take place?"

ooc: sry bout the delay, traveling. At least I'm home, and I bought some of your craft. >_< I still need to think up an RP population though... Also, I'll be out of town next week (scout camp). I *believe* (as in 75% sure, more info later tonight or tomorrow) I'll be able to get internet for about 2 weeks after that, then I'll be going to Philmont. That'll all be done August 5th, but it's a bloody hassle to keep strait.

IC: Arcrer looked over at Tsu, curious at the almost uneasy joke, but not showing it. Instead he still had a smile on his face, thoroughly enjoying himself in this impressive view, but not so much it interfered with his thoughts. Was that joke almost nervous? Maybe not. Eh, we'll see. Something tells me that the alcohol was a little unnerving to her though.

"Well, we can hold it pretty much wherever. As I said we've got the station mostly to ourselves. The damaged fleet put in at one of the moons I think, probably both, and the home fleet has its own slips. Nothing should come this way unless a war breaks out, and I hope that it doesn't. There are several confrence rooms down at the base of the spire, or we can do it here. There are some chairs and a table somewhere. Auxiliary fleet control was going to move to another location anyway, near the hangar I think."

ooc: Sry for not being able to get internet at the beach. We've been ablt to before, but my dad's cellular card for his laptop decided to act up.

Archer motioned Tsu back towards the elevator. "You can leave your drink on that tray near the door if you're done. A droid will be along shortly for regular cleaning of this level, and will deal with it. At some point I'd like to discuss how your nation deals with droids. Here we have full robot rights for all models with sentience, and nonsentient models are considered machinery."

After a short elevator ride, the party arrived on the confrence room level. Situated about the base of the viewing spire, the confrence rooms had an entire wall devoted to a view of space. They had not talked after leaving the viewing area, leaving an uneasy silence that made an aide shift about. Archer was lost in thought about possibilities and diplomatic strategies, and working mostly on auto pilot. After motioning Tsu out of the elevator, he spoke again, his blizzard of thoughts not skipping a beat. "Please follow me. It's just around the corner."

A wood table with viewscreens sunk into it and modern chairs around it dominated the confrence room they entered. Archer pulled back a chair and offered it to Tsu. "Here we are. Not the best in the universe, but far better than most planetside. And there's a view too. Now, what would you like to begin with?"

ooc: I love the Halo mods. They get so pissed at random people. I'm on a server, and all of a sudden one logs like three people at once.

IC:
Archer sat down opposite Tsu, noticing how the light played about her. He pressed on with buisness however, experience and dicipline keeping his mind focused.

"Well, as you said, we can walk the walk. And thus far I believe that we've been reasonably responsible with the new technology. I have spoken with several engineers who have been able to look over your technologies, and they were having a blast proving and refuting all sorts of things with them. I understand that several mainstream physicists are quite angry because of that...

As for the wrecks," he continued, digging out a thick pile of stapled papers. "I honestly don't know much about them. This pad of papers offers a summary of most of the larger identified wrecks. We can identify from these remains that there was probably a huge ship out there at one time, and it's broken up over the years. We believe to have identified engineering, bridge, and communications areas, but nothing else. Other structures appear to be probes, stations, sattelights, and parts of smaller ships. We're guessing with everything though, those antenna could be part of anything as far as we know." He handed her the thick pad of paper. "You can access a digital copy too if you want, those have holograms instead of pictures."

As for what you can do about the nebula... I'm afraid that is quite a touchy subject in many people's minds, including my own, so please excuse any minor difficulties I may have. You'd have to talk with some of our scientists for details, but I can fill you in on some of the special problems we have here. First off, our star is very strong. So strong in fact that if a hole were to develop in the nebula it could melt this station in a matter of hours. The nebula is unusually dense, and will destroy ships that enter without having their shields up at maximum. The shields will fall rapidly once you enter, so you'd have to get in and out out quick. It has to do with ambient radiation, heavy elements, and corrosive gasses. Why they're there we don't know, but they are present." Archer leaned back in his chair. "It would be a tall order, but we would be eternally endebted to you for this."

IC:

Tsu looked skimmed over the first few pages.

"Comm areas, bridges..." She mumbled quietly. Tsu closed the pad, and looked up.

"Yeah, I think I'll take the digital version." Tsu chuckled lightly. "I'll forward this, to our labs. I'm not making any promises, but, I'll get back to you on whatever we might find."

Tsu slid aside the papers. "Now, about the issue of the nebula, do you mind if we arrange a small science team to come and examine it? Take readings and the like? I think that the harmful properties of this nebula might of possible value..."

Tsu didn't give any hint of it, but the cruiser had taken careful readings of the sector during its journey. Not so much as behind the scenes covert ops, but rather as a security measure. All Diplomatic vessels were equipped with ultra fine scanners, and readers. Should anything happen to a diplomatic cruiser on its mission, there would be plenty of data to find out what happened, and to avert a possible crisis. The fact that the info could be used bu Sovereignty Intel Services was just a bonus.

Readings had already been taken of the nebula, and Tsu's aids had quietly forwarded them to the Latebra Scientia Adv R&D labs on Tar'en (Refer to factbook.) where it was discovered that the unique properties of the nebula had great potential for future defensive weaponry.

"I'm positive that a little dash of inertial fields and a small engineering team could easily fix your planet's little predicament."

ooc: that for your point defence weaponry and for deployment in thick clouds to obscure the battlefield? If so, I hope you synthesize it on your own and don't try mining it lol. Twould be useful though, since it messes with sensors to no end, is tough on shields, and eats away hull plating, in addition to absorbing energy quite well.

IC: "Use? Well, if you can use a corrosive, sensor blocking, energy absorbing mess, than I guess so. We have several shieldships that can survive the nebula, but they're quite expensive and slow. But if you're thinking of harvesting the nebula, I'm afraid we can't allow that. Maybe some small quantities for research, but nothing large scale. We'd more than welcome some scientific teams though. Our current ones are more than a little frustrated with the current situation, especially since the newest loss rates were figured.

And could you tell us if you find anything on this civilization? We have almost nothing from them as far as we can tell, only a very few classic stories hanging around in our databanks that appear to predate space travel in our civilization. We can foreward them to you in addition to the information about the wrecks. They're great reads, but completly works of fiction, and the publishing info is worthless." Archer leaned foreward and commented: "With all of this we're asking, I don't know how we can repay you."

"Well, most of the reason why we don't ask much of you is partly because we don't know much about you. I don't mean to sound arrogant, but at first glance, your civilization is noticeably less advanced than ours. However we Eshirian have had enough experience in affairs like these to know that even the most primitive of races always has something new and unique."

Tsu asked for a padd from one of her aids, but didn't look at it. She set it down in front of her, and continued.

"Actually, the chance to study your nebulae is already something we feel is payment enough in exchange for what we've offered."

Tsu looked down at the padd for a second, and looked back up, "One thing that you'll have to understand is that my people are almost hopelessly idealistic. Its our history of instability, violence, and foreign humiliation that's made my people realize that its no ones right to ever demand anything of anyone. Hmm... interesting ideology. Something that most of the rest of the universe could stand to learn from.

"Well, if there ever is a time at which you are in need of assistance, then you can count on us. I'm afraid that we don't know as much as we'd like to know about you either. However, from what the techies say about your Drakens and Praemisus, you are correct in stating that your technological advancement is ahead of ours in many areas.

I would like to ask, however, if your nation is currently working on what the techies call a 'farjumper?' It is a large, extremely powerful hyperdrive that not only creates a wake allowing non-hyperdrive and slower hyperdrive equipped ships to travel with it, it also can move ships around. Using it, you can use hyperdrive on the flagship to move a group of smaller ships from one side of a battle to another without the main ship having to enter hyperspace or travel with them. Our research is promising, but we have gotten hung up at one point. We can not produce a strong enough housing or enough power for it. For some reason, it keeps vibrating itself apart and draining reactors. The jumps have been sucessively shorter in time and longer in distance though.

If this or anything else we have interests you, I'm sure we can do something for you."

{I'm glad he understands our stance.} Tsu thought to herself. She handed the padd back to her aid.

When she turned around, Archer had just finished speaking about their new ship development.

"That's pretty impressive. We've got something like that. Although, by the sound of it. It isn't nearly as adaptable as your design. Our military and civilian techs rely pretty heavily on wormhole technology. We do operate small WH generators like how you described your 'Jumper' concept, but they're not nearly as fast."

There was slight pause as she wondered what else was next on the agenda.

"I'm sure there's plenty that we could do to help your project along. Do you think that we could arrange something?"

Hmm, this looks like a good place to passingly broach the topic of embssies.

"I'm positive something could be arranged. In fact, if you'd like an embassy in our nation you could send your scientists along with the embassy contingent. They would be given access to as much about the jumper as possible. I'm sure that any help at all would be greatly appreciated over there, and they'd be happy to share with the Soverignty."

Tsu smiled a little when she overheard Archer's thought.

"Thanks, and likewise. I'll see what the military scientists say. About the embassy, I'll still have to run any establishing of embassies by our Diplomatic Corp, Prime C'ten, and then our President. I'll say this though, I'm absolutely positive that we'll be more than glad to get the ball rolling."

Tsu took a breath, and began again, "I'd also like to talk about our military deployments. We don't exactly border each other, but we were hoping that we could decrease military deployments around your area. Up until now, we weren't sure what to do since we've never had a chance to deal with your people. But I'm sure now that we feel a little more secure."

John raised his eyebrows almost inperceptibly. Undetected ships deployed around the Galactic Inferno? The idea was unthinkable. They'd seen all manners of scows, tugs, battlecruisers, and even a treeship, but only one Eshirian vessel, and that one had delievered fighters to Haven.

His mind was a blur for about a second. He knew the Soverignty was more advanced, but news like this was still like a bucket of ice water thrown on you in your sleep.

They had military ships around here? We never detected anything either. They could slip through our sensor grid... not good. If they can... I'm sure there are others who... I'll need to warn the High Admiral and get them working on some newer sensor grids.

Then the gears were halted abruptly, and he made up his mind.

The beginning is the most delicate time. A time for watching every aspect, being prepared for every angle. I should be cautious, but direct. Heh, I wonder if she's listening in on my thoughts right now.

"Well, I was never informed of any Eshirian military craft being spotted on patrol around us," he began carefully, "but the news that there will be fewer in the future will be well recieved up top. I do know, however, that a single M-C-sixty and her support fleet is currently deployed near the soverignty. That will be reduced now that relations are improving."

Tsu coolly, and clearly responded,

"Yes, that's true." Tsu replied. "I'm sure you're probably thinking that you're going to need some better sensors." Tsu began, "And I'm sure that we can help you in those areas. Of course, only once we've furthered our relations."

Tsu knew that the negotiations were beginning to slow down considerably. She started offering some issues out to get as much ground covered as quickly as possible. However, she also realized the things were beginning to grow more and more formal. In her experience, the more formal things began to get, often that meant the less likely things would be settled on good terms. Food was always a good background to get things warmer...

"I think that there's also the area of trade, additional technnology transfers, handling of resources, and frontier boudries to work out. But we can leave those alone for a moment. I'm still interested in other aspects of your people. I've tried your drinks, and I'm now intrigued as to what foods you eat."

Archer looked at his watch, surprised. "My goodness, I lost track of time. I'm terribly sorry about that, I'm being rude. Well, we can eat pretty much whatever you'd like to."

Archer stood up and moved over to behind Tsu, pulling her chair back for her. "This station, is of course, outfitted with several fine dining facilities. However, there is also a really good little private diner that serves some of the best traditional Haven and Avalon food I've ever had. The couple who own it are from each planet respectively. Of course we can also eat at any number of the other locations.

Sanctuary food is very spicey and has little water in it. You drink a lot though with it. Haven is a lot more moist. They serve a lot of fish, since they have about eighty-five percent of their planet covered in water. Avalon is a much more interesting planet. They are mostly rocky and have a lot of evergreen forests. They serve some of their large, native birds as well as the wide variety of tubers and other things that grow there. And there are plenty of other types of food, but I don't know them as well.

Of course the average person in the Inferno eats pretty much what most people around the galaxy eat. Just served a little warmer usually, with a few more spices.

Would you like to eat at the cafeteria or at the smaller diner? It's your choice."

A short lift ride and an even shorter walk brought the group to one of the station's cafeterias. This one was one of the average ones, not super-fancy like some of the fleet commanders used, but it was still sleek and modern. All told there were multiple rooms like this about the station, mostly clustered near the dock and the personel quarters.

John glanced around the cafeteria, squinting in the fluorescent lighting. Sighing, he put on a pair of light-sensative sunglasses to try to cut the glare. Turning to Tsu, he resignedly apoligized, as if the lights were like miniature suns.

"I'm sorry if the lights are kind of bright. Our ships, and consequently our stations, have their primary lights set to the same standard as most of the other galactic navies... something I could never understand."

Finally, John spied a table with everything he was looking for. It was clean, small, and was placed so that one could see most of the room from it.

"Here, let's head over to that table before some ODST crew or starfighter tandem grabs it." Heading in that direction, he continued, "Food here is ordered by entering your choice into a datapad on the table. Then you go and pick it up at one of the stations, those large silver cubes with counters around them. It's a highly automated sequence, but there are still quite a few people employed in cooking.

You'll probably see quite a few military and civilian personel wandering through here, this station services both types of vessels."

"That's incredible." Commented Tsu. "That last time our people tried something like that, we were swamped with people who were forgetting how to get on in life without our [The Government's] help. I'd say the only conditioning programs that are still running are our SpecOps. I can't really go into any more detail though... After all, they're still supposed to be a myth."

"Let's just say, that your quick three points are something that seem to be a standard train of thought for most Potential races out there. It's a pretty logical train of thought." Tsu replied.

"How'bout this, your last consideration. Your race is close enough to attain what we have in a few generations. For a race to learn how to deal with, control, and integrate these abilities into their society is largely your own effort. It's critical for a race to come on to their own. Did I say that? She must have read it strait out of me.

Picking up his drink and taking a sip, John kept under control, but there were two parts trying to break out, the curious and the terrified. Finally, the cool and logical part of him took over, supressing the others.

"Okay. I'm afraid that this is a little un-nerving. So you think we can attain Psi potential within a few generations? This is something that is both interesting and concerning. Psi is something that will not be widely understood with the people, and may cause some panic.

Also, there will probably be a discrepency in the time that different groups attain it. This is something that should be carefully watched, so that the transition is as smooth as possible. There could be issues if some unsavory characters get it before the vast majority of the populace."

John began calculating how this might possibly be revealed to the public at large. "In fact, as far as we know, there could be... some... already...... the Tandems!" Looking Tsu strait in the eyes, he played out the scenerio in his mind.

"It's the only explanation, they can communicate without a word, they move their ships before the threat detectors even pick anything up. Maybe some of those closest enrole in the program, subconsciously and unwittingly attatching their consciousnesses to their partners until it's a single entity. Is this possible? Or am I insane?"

Tsu chuckled a bit. "Ha ha, no." She said in an assuring tone. "You by far one of the more sane, and disciplined minds I've met."

She urned to the matter of the Tandems. "To be honest, they're not Psi. Not yet... They've just been trained to such a degree. To be honest, they're probably the farthest from achieving any psionic abilities whatsoever. They're just too hard edged, too conditioned... Their minds are just too rigid. They were now less dangerous to the enemy, but also less dangerous to the Inferno. They were feared and respected because of their skill at the trade of bloodshed, and this was a comfort.

However, other thoughts soon came.

Every race different? Then what the Eshirians can do may only be lightweight compared to the hell we may unleash... What then? What happens when it is done and the people realize their power, and take it as being the chosen ones? A holy war the likes of which the Great Makers never invisioned... I could never bear the burden of that much blood... John involantarily glanced at his hands resting on the table.

"But what happens if emotion is not handled, Tsu?" he asked, looking up, "Or what if they are honed down to perfection in a destructive way? You've probably read my thoughts, what happens then? I know the spirit of my people, this could be more explosive than anyone realizes."

ooc: I'm debating whether or not to intro my race with the entangled consciousnesses at some point. What do you think?

Tsu looked at Archer and smiled. All that was thought and all that was said mattered not. Tsu couldn't give answers, only guide those who sought them. "We Eshirians have had a long history with our powers. I guarantee you that what our "Ascended" beings are capable of demonstrates the zenith of Psi power."

Tsu wondered how she would respond to the question of emotion. Emotions had long since been controlled by her people. Though they felt them, never did they corrupt the intricacies of higher thought. "Should your people start on the path to destruction, then I'm afraid we would have to do all in our power to halt your advance."

She leaned in closer. "Do be sure it does not come to that..."

"I will do everything I can to prevent such a thing. But you know how a population can get when they smell victory and power..."

John finished his main course and leaned back.

"But we'll probably have a few generations until we have to worry about it. There are a few topics I like to run over with you. The first one is a military alliance. An alliance of sorts exists between our nation, but it has yet to be formalized. A single, coherent document would not only improve ties by leaps and bounds, but it would also make it easier for you to help us in a worst case scenerio with the Psi.

Also, what do you think about what we call 'Right-of-Passage?' In a nutshell, that means that any and all Inferno craft can travel through Soverignty space, as long as they follow local laws of course, and vice-versa."

"That's good to hear."

Tsu also finished up her own meal and continued, "The Alliance is something I'll hammer out with my superiors, but the 'Right-of-Passage' is something I'm authorized and trained to discuss."

Tsu laughed a little before saying, "Basically, my trained response is, you still wouldn't be allowed in sensitive areas, but the rest is free reign." She became a little more serious when she asked, "I hope that won't be a problem?"

"Of course not. That is something we'd insist on. What are your opinions on Trade? Would you allow us to create some jumpgates at some of your trading centers? You see, some of our traders don't actually have FTL drives on their ships, they utilize our more or less complete network of hypergates. We could link some of your systems into this or create a hub that international ships would have to travel through for security purposes if you want."

Tsu considered the few options she had. Her face became blank as she began to think. After a few seconds, her brow propped up, and she responded, "We have a network of gates left over from before all of our ships were equipped with FTL drives. It's still in operation for those vessels on long distance travels, in order to conserve energy, plus, it's open for all with standard security."

She sipped some water, and said, "You're free to use that."

Tsu considered the possibilities for a moment. Suddenly, prospects for a joint project were looking very good... "Actually, I have an offer from my superiors regarding a new specialized station to be jointly controlled by our respective nations, as a sign of our new relations. Interested?"

"Sounds pretty interesting. Do you mean trade, colony, military, or what?

I certainly know that the high command loves your navy, even if it doesn't like wormhole technology, so if you mean military there'd be unanimous support."

"Something like an all purpose station. Except without a big civilian presence. Actually Zero civilian presence would be preferred. The station wold be a sort of secret base of sorts and a vital link between our two nations." Tsu replied.

John pulled a datapad out of his pocket and began to jot down a few notes.

"Excellent! We'd love to! Also, it looks like the high command would like me to discuss something to you about the military. Seems like they need some light fighter-carriers to support long range small-scale operations."

An aide ran up, seemingly from nowhere, and lay a pad of papers next to John, disappearing just as quickly.

"But first," he continued, "An official alliance document. That is, if you agree with the terms."

OOC: yeah, I know. I just love the little buggers!

Tsu did a quick take over the document. She wasn't particularly happy that it was the No Endorsians that came up with the document as she was much more accustomed to the Eshirians providing the important things.

"Consider it done!" she proclaimed. "I've got a thing or two in mind for your little ship requirements..." Said Tsu as her voice faded out in the chatter of the mess hall.

John was looking out the window of the confrence room when Tsu came in. "Oh, hello. You're five minutes early, but that's just fine!"

Moving back to his seat, he pulled a datapad out of his pocket. "I seem to remember that you were interested in a joint defense station. Well, the high command almost went crazy over the idea, they're all for it. And interestingly enough, we're in need of a station capable of building and repairing some of our... more unusual ships.

We've been scouting for some time good locations to hide stations. Maybe you could help us out a little there."

"We would need docks capable of handling almost anything in either of our nations. Maybe not like an eclipse, but at least a star destroyer. Also, we need a strong enough static shield to hold almost anything off. It should have a jump drive that can push nearby ships around. Lastly, it should be armed decently but secretly. Nothing large, but something that'll be flashey and shiney enough to make others hold thier distance until we can jump a fleet in there.

Most importantly, it should be able to hold whatever we are jointly working on at the time, whatever it may be. Everything else is secondary, since we should be able to get a defense fleet in there pretty quickly."

She looked down at the Datapadd that she had brought, and scanned it for a moment before continuing.

"My nation still has a few Eclipses around, I think that we can't honestly make a station that can accommodate it, but how about something the size for a Sovereign? For defenses, I think that the standard fair of Secars and Taikuns would do the job quite nicely. The defensive technology I believe would come from my people, as we have somewhat of an edge in that area."
