"I know pronounce you husband and wife!"

After kissing his new wife for the first time, Emperor Kellerman smiled and turned to all his friends and guests. The imperial wedding was looked like something taken from heaven itself.

The Imperial Gardens of the palace was the spot picked for the festive occasion; and it looked it's finest. The large marble pillars that stuck up in the four corners of the rose garden in the middle of the hedge maze made it feel like they were in an ancient temple to the old gods. Set up next to the many marble benches in the area, large tables filled with the finest foods in the galaxy; as well as the best and most expensive wines and champaigns.

The many guests were laughing and smiling as they talked about after barring witness to the ceremony; but only a few sat with the new couple in the small marble pavillion that looked like a shrine. Around the crystal table in the pavillion, sat the Emperor and new Empress. With them sat the best man, Christian Sylvester, who was also the Emperors best and oldest friend; the various brides maids and the other best and dearest friends of the Imperial couple. There were 15 of them in all.

They laughed and talked, and the Empress and her friends giggled on their side of the table as the men played a childish game of arm wrestling. It was only when the desert came that everybody became calm again. They eyed the delicious looking plates with the small vanilla slice from the wedding cake.

5 hours later

Everything was in place. The merry making was coming to a close as the Emperor ensured that his advisors and governors knew what to do in his absence. After all was done, the Emperor and Empress borded their awaiting limo and drove off.

They sat in the back of the limo, laying on the soft silken sheets of the bed that was set up in the back. They kissed each other for several minutes, smiling and giggling in their jubilence.

The car was just passing through the snow capped mountain ranges of the Taledon mountains, heading towards the resort palace that the Emperor kept for vacations. Up on top of a cliff, concealed by a some shrubb, a metal tube peaked out; pointing at the car. The man holding the rifle sat in total camouflage and silence as he took aim, and squeezed the trigger.

The Emperor turned away from his wife and went to the small cooler in the limo to get a bottle of champaign. He suddenly heard a faint noise and noticed a beam of sunlight on his arm. He looked up to see a hole in the window above him, then slowly turned around. Tears started to fill his eyes, as he beheld his wife, laying motionless; with a hole in her chest.

The Vindicare Assassin looked across from the opposing rooftop, before hurriedly shouldering his rifle; hurling himself acrobatically over the edge, where he landed gracefully below. He had been trained by the greatest of the Assassins of Chronosia; trained in the Vindicare temple, to be the most skilled of marksmen; and now his skills were tested. Here, in the name of the Daemon Emperor; he had killed; and now, he must escape, before the desired reaction took place.

He must escape this world; lest the dark Father be displeased with his work; and his enemies find him...

The Diplomatic Emmesary from Al-Imvadjah had passed out; slumping gracefully, he did everything gracefully, into his dessert plate as his head went onto the table. It was truely a tragedy that he had had too much to drink early in the night. Or perhaps he had been drugged. Nobody would ever really be sure. What was so tragic was that he had been inable to deliver the private message and gift from King Phillip I. When he awaoke several hours later, with a splitting headache, the last of the guests were staggering out of the banquet hall. He rationalized that it would be acceptable to mail the envelope to the Emperor of Taledonia, seeing as he hadn't had a chance to even shake his hand during the festivities.

He stumbled toward his chauffer, leaving the gift on the gift table and the letter in the care of a friendly-looking mailbox. As he reviewed the evening on the ride up, his only regret was not being able to convince one of the female guests to go on a Starship Ride. Still, as his Cobra painted in diplomatic white loomed in the front window of his shuttle, he couldn't help yawning again. The wine they have on this planet sure is strong...

The doors to the Emperors office burst open as the Emperor stormed in in such a rage that nobody had ever seen before. His face was bright red and he was screaming and cussing at everything and everyone. The poor ministers who were in the office shrunk behind the desk. They had been informed of what had happend, but never expected this.

"Don't let anyone get out of this fuc*ing system! Close down all the borders and make sure the energy fields from the stations are up to keep everybody in. I want whoever did this brought before me! The little fuc*er is going to die slow and painfully for this!" he spat out at the men in front of him.

The men stuttered as they tried to gather up their courage, "Y...ye...yes, my lord. They will be found."

TF-20 fighters flew over the entire planet, seraching everywhere for the assasin. Space ports were being checked and many people were being arrested. It would take a miracle for anyone to get out of there.

In a dark alley he cowered, waiting, watching. His goggles let him see beyond the night; let him peer into the surging currents of human heat; but even now, as he waited; breathing labored, his heart racing. He knew he must try his hand at escape. If not, then he would die to protect his Emperor and his knowledge.
