Bekara Spaceyard

The Emperor looked proudly at the twenty men in front of him. These truly were some of the best officers of the Imperial Fleet. Though they had a mission that was not tried by the Empire before, he was sure they would manage to do it.

`Citizens of the Empire, you have been selected to take part of the first mission outside the Empire territory. It is a great honour that has been bestowed upon you, and great rewards will wait for you at home if you succeed. You will be the first ship in the Empire`s history that tries to make contact with other races. Our era of isolationism and fending off any ships that try to enter our territory is finnaly over. For this purpose, our best scientists have worked together to give you the best tools for this job. You will be the crew of the fastest scout ship of the Empire, a stealth vessel that uses phase-shift technology. You will advance unseen if possible to the borders of the nearest spacefaring nation in the area, and make contact if possible. It was decided to send a small ship, rather then one of the destroyers or cruisers, so that they do not feel threatened in any way. Lord Surak looked proudly at his new ship, the ISS Raven, then looked around at his future officers. Most of them he already knew and recomended for this job, trustworthy men that would do the job without questioning orders. They were all cleared by the Rakal Mor, the feared imperial spy agency, and they were all ready for this mission.

`Tak`Mora Lord Surak.`, said the Emperor before leaving.

`Mortak`Mora.`, answered Surak to the ancient greeting.

As the Emperor left, Lord Surak turned to his men and begun detailing the plan:

`We will leave three days from now men. This ship has a speed 40% greater then any other ship in the Imperial Fleet, so we will pass the Marikon Outpost three days later. We will then head to Sector 204, where we have reports from the Rakal Mor that we will find an advanced civilisation. We will then make contact if they seem peacefull. We will be the first ones from the Empire to make contact with other races. The ship has diplomatic quarters and a conference room for this kind of ocasions, and a very powerfull sensor suite and weapons for a ship of its size. This is it for now. We live by the words of Aquiel....`

`We die by the hand of Rocha!`, said the crew, finishing the ancient incantation.


3 weeks later, Sector 204, ISS Raven

Lord Surak watched the ship in front of him, sensing the tension rising on the command deck. Truly, this will be a historic moment for the Empire, and he will be the one to make the first step.

`Lieutenant Remala, decloak the ship and let them know we are here. Send a standard greeting in all known languages and tell them we wish to make first contact.`

`Aye sir!`

Seconds later, the Raven decloaked and remained still without powering weapons or raising shields. A greeting message was sent to the unknown ship with hope that peacefull contact would be possible.

The captain of the corvette, Victor'd was slightly surprised when a small ship decloaked off the port bow.

"Captain, the ship is sending a FC message."
"Reply on the same frequency, and send a greetings."

To Unknown Ship
"This is the T.S. Victor'd, it is a pleasure to meet you."

Lord Surak, the ship answered. Luckily we have their language in the database.

Good. Relay the following message:

"Tak`Mora T.S. Victor'd, I am Lord Surak, captain of the ISS Raven. We came here, hoping we could meet new civilisations and maybe open diplomatic relations. We are most pleased that you were not alarmed by our sudden appearance and wish to meet and discuss possible relations between our nations if possible."

"That would be acceptable, if we may ask where would you like this meeting, and what nation do you represent?" Captain Shin transmitted

We are representatives of the Calpian Empire. The meeting will take place on your ship if possible. You are the first alien species we come in contact with, after a long period in which we have closed our borders to outsiders, and we are curious how an alien ship would look like.

"That would be acceptable, thought there is limited space for a conference on the Victor'd. Should you be willing to wait a short period, we could have a much more suitable ship here." Shin transmitted

"Then we should keep it on our ship. We have a conference room here that is suitable for the purpose. Your shuttle is expected as soon as you can come."

Shin and a few members of the crew boarded the shuttle and disconnected from the Victor'd and headed toward the Raven.

Meanwhile the Captain Secondus, transmitted three messages in three directions,

Third message was sent into space.

"Affirmative. Our sensors show that our atmospheres are compatible."

A few minutes after confermation, the shuttle docked with the Raven, with Shin and the other crewmembers waiting for the airlock to cycle throught before stepping onto the ship.

Lord Surak waited for the airlock to be opened, with less patience to begin this then he would`ve thought possible. The thought that he will speak with a member of another species gave him the chills, but in a good way. As the airlock was opened, the aliens were let in the medical room, where sensors would check them for any dangerous germs. Few minutes later, the door opened, and Lord Surak took his hand to the heart, made a short bow and said "Tak`Mora captain. I am Lord Surak, captain of this vessel. Welcome."

"Greetings, Lord Surak. I am Shin Madin(Male), Captain of the Victor'd." Shin replied with a half-bow. "This is Lieutenant Kal(Male), Sargent Meri(Female) and Second Lieutenant Moriar(Male)." At the introduction each of the crew stepped forward and gave a half-bow.

We will have dinner, and give you the chance to taste the calpian food. Though its not exactly imperial standards, it is still natural food, not replicated. And i have decided to open for you the best bottle of Pin`Tok i have, aged for 43 years, from the day i was born. The conference room is this way.`, said Surak and started walking, showing the way for the guests.

The Taledonian Frigate Nerevar left the space dock where it had been built over the past couple of months. The new ship was designed mainly for exploration, but could defend itself quite well if attacked.

Lt. Cassades stood at the front of the bridge of the Nerevar, looking out the window in front of him. He was admiring the planet Taledonia, the various space ports, orbital weapons platforms, and the many ships that went about their business. He turned to face the rest of the crew on the bridge. It was their first mission, as all of them had just finished their training in the various schools of the Taledonian military. It was time to prove that he had what it took to command a ship.

"Ready to jump into warp, sir." reported an officer close to the Lt.

Cassades looked over at the women, "Very well. Take us throught!" he said while trying to hide his exitement.

The officer pressed a few buttons on her control panel. In the front of the Nerevar, a rift in space appeared. It formed a type of blue portal that envelopped the ship as it passed through. Within a few seconds, it emerged out of another portal. It was now in another part of the galaxy, and apparently wasn't alone.

The young science officer looked up at his superior, "Lieutenant, there are three other vessels in the area."

"Classifications?" asked Cassades.

"The big one is a Kazeci Super Cruiser, the second is Theao ship, but the thrid isn't on our data banks, sir." replied the officer.

Cassades looked over at the man with surprise, "Unknown? Set a course towards the ships, we're going to make contact with these peoples. Open some communication channels."

To Kazecistan:
Kazeci Cruiser, this is the Taledonian Frigate Nerevar. It appears you beat us here but we would still like to take part in meeting these peoples. We also have orders to do a recon of this area of space. Please acknowledge.

To Calpe
Unidentified vessel, this is the Taledonian Frigate Nerevar. We have peaceful intentions, please respond.

Shin, Kal, Meri and Moriar followed after Surak.

- Deep space Patrol 4509-34v -

A standard patrol group drifted through space at sublight speeds, they were scanning the area for pirates, anomalies, and other things. The patrol Group was a standard one for Korgarein Deep space defence and potrols, it consisted of one Warrenter Class Destroyer, Two Tigeress Flak Refit Class Frigates, one Tigress Recon Refit Class Frigate, and one standard Tigeress Class Frigate. By Korgarein law Ships are not to travel alone and where often seen in patrol groups of two destoyers or one destoyer with several smaller escorts.

Onbord the Destroyer Belgrov;

"Captain the Gelomy (Recon Fefit) is detecting communications between several ships in S-245, region 7 (sector 204) sir. It would seem that some of them are Republican vessels sir. And a ship belonging to Theao."

"Well then we are all friends here, i guess we should check it out. Tell the Gelomy to transmit Friendly signals to all vessels in that area. And place the Patrol Group on Jump orders for those coordinates"

"Yes sir."

The Gelomy sent the following message on all broadband freqencies;

"To all vessels in sector S-245 (204) This is Captain Drengar of the Korgarein Patrol Group 4509-34v, We are prepairing to jump to your present coordinates. Our weapons are not armed and our shields will be down. We are comming to investigate the Unknown vessel as well as to just say Hello to some Allies."

The Group Jumped to the Coordinates in a horizontal flash of light. They entered the sector and broadcast a new message.

Lieutenant Remala was the commanding officer on the bridge, as Lord Surak was greeting the guests.

"Lt. Remala, we got incoming transmission from a ship that just appeared on our sensors. What should i tell them?"

"Open a channel with that ship.....Frigate Nerevar, this is the calpian ship ISS Raven. I am lieutenant Remala, commanding officer at the moment of the ship. We welcome the possibility we have to get to know you. If you wish to meet us and talk more about our nations you are welcomed on our ship, or we could come to yours. A Theao captain is already here, talking with our commander, Lord Surak."

While Remala was getting his own chance to make first contact, Lord Surak arrived to the conference room with the guests. On a table, over twenty different sortiments of food were aligned, giving the guests a first idea on what they should expect from the calpians.

"I dont know what you think about eating flesh, but i would suggest the Kales meat. Its from a predator that lives on the plains of Remora. The best meat i have ever tasted, and the remorans, the species that serves mostly as soldiers in the Empire, are hunting these 10 foot beasts with primitive weapons because of their rituals that forbids the animal to be killed with modern weapons. Its quite a sight seeing them in action. Ahh, and here it is, the Pin`Tok. This beverage is aged since the moment a child is born. Dozens of bottles, and they are used only for special ocasions during the life of a calpian. Come, taste our food, drink our wine and we shall talk during the dinner about our species."

Theao itself would be classified as a worldship. We have no actual territory, as our world moves as needed. All are equal, male, female, and others. Is there other information you are looking for?" Shin asked

A bright white light sweraled around each of the two men. The beam of light then colapsed in on itself and the men were gone.

Two small balls of light appeared, they then expanded revieling two men. The first officer stepped forward and spoke.

"Greetings, I am Commander Hall, First Officer on the Belgrov. This is our ships Diplomatic officer." Turning slightly torwards the other man.

"Thank you, and Greetings, I am Lueteniet Nemvel, Diplomatic officer of the Belgrov. I am here to represent the Federal Empire of Korgarein."

Acknowledged, we will send someone to you.

Cassades and 3 of his senior officers left the bridge and headed towards one of the ships hangers. There, they borded a shuttle and headed towards the foreign vessel.

I`m sure the cultural and economical benefites could be invaluable for both our nations. We for one, are based in three systems close to one another, we are an empire, but the laws are decided by the elected senators."

"The technology isn't as advanced as you may think, the greatest difficulty is in the engine and powercore. At present there are 876 million people that live on it, thought it will have enought space to hold billions." Shin replied, "I'm sure the emperor would be interested in visiting."

876 million, impressive indeed. We only have some 470 million in the Empire. The remains of the billions that populated the Empire hundreds of years ago. The civil war took many of us. That truly was a dark period in our history, and determined the closed borders policy.

Cassades and 3 of his senior officers left the bridge and headed towards one of the ships hangers. There, they borded a shuttle and headed towards the foreign vessel.

Taledonian ship, your shuttle is cleared for docking. One of our officers is expecting you and will show you the way to our little reunion.

"Ofcourse. If you wish to join us, we already have a number of delegates in our conference room, over a nice dinner with good food and wine. You are invited to join us aswell. We are curious about your nation and cant wait to hear more about it. Your representatives are expected."

The two Korgarein officers stepped forward towards the food.

"looks good!"said the Commander.

Lueteniet Nemvel turned suddenly.

"Befor i forget sir." handing Lord Surak a small black and red device.

"This is a standard Diplomatic Document. It explains many things about the current and past Korgarein Empire."

He turned back torwards the table of food and placed samples of everything on his plate.

Shin stood up "Greetings Commander Hall and Lieutenant Nemvel." He said as he gave a half-bow.

As the shuttled flew into the docking bay of the foreign ship, the men onboard prepared to exit. When the platform came down the 3 men stepped out, with the Lt. in front.

"Ave! I am Lieutenant Gregory Cassades, Captain of the Taledonian Frigate Nerevar." said Cassades as he placed his right hand against his chest for a customary Taledonian salute.

It wouldn't take long for a cluster of ships to register on any sensor system the PSN used.
The Super Destroyer Redemption plowed through what had once been a feared AEN frigate. The battle could have been detected from light minutes around with the massive weapons discharges and the powercores expldoing.
On the Redemption the cluster of ships were the next target for investigation. As the SD began to become suronded by a sickly green glowing feild it vanished taking several hundred peices of wreakage, bodies, and other debris with it.
It defolded only half a lightsecond away from the cluster. Being in at 7km long she easily would draw attention then again the sudden appearnce of a ship would easily.
On the bridge the AI constructs began to quickly analize the ships while the bridge crew, who's adrenaline still pumped, began to prepare for more combat if needed.

A huge portion of the side of the ship (about 1/6 of the side) that looked to be solid suddenly was retracted several meters into the ship. It then proceeded to raze out of site within the SC. The hanger was open. A small sleek bullet transport erupted from the gigantic hole with increasable speed and moved to dock with the unknown ship. The massive door began to close.

After docking, the transport emptied it self of its occupants, 6 guards and 3 diplomats. The Guards wore full dress uniform, while the diplomats wore the traditional earthen robes that were so common in Kazecistan. Each carried an intricately carved white silver staff.

"So, Lord Surak, how many other people are coming to this meeting?" Shin asked

On board the Nerevar

"Major! A new ship has just entered the system. It's huge, sir, and appears to have recently been in a battle." shouted an officer.

Major Broad had been left in charge of the Nerevar while the Lieutenant was away. "Raise shields. Send a message to the new ship, ask it what it's intentions are!"

"Yes, sir." replied the communications officer.

One of the bridge officers turned to Remala "Hmm, why did you just offer assistance to a ship thats probably at least one hundred times bigger then we are?"

Remala laughed, "Well, I dont know. It seemed like a proper greeting since they seem to come from battle. I`m pretty sure they dont need our help though"

Onbard the bridge of the Belgrov;

"Captain, we may have a problem, a large vessel has folded into space near here sir, and it appears to have been in combat."

"Well hell, tactical scans of the vessel, keep me informed. Let the Diplomatic away group know of the situation."


Onboard the ISS Raven, Conference room;

A light noise could be heard comeing from Commander Hall.

"Please excuse me."

Commander Hall walk away from the table.

"Yes Captain?"

"There is a large warship that just folded in. we do not know of the situation yet. Be advised."

"Yes Captain!"

Commander hall sat back down.

"This wine is very good. and the food is wonderfull."

The Redemption used a few of her pulse laser point defense systems to quickly melt away the larger more threatening remains of the AEN frigate while her fighters quickly collected any useful equipment they could locate as well as survivors hidden amung the wreakage in armour or lifepods.
Though this opperation was occuring the com system quickly fired up and spat out a message.

"Unfortunatly we didn't expect to meet anyone here, as we just came to do a reconnasaince mission of the area. But I could give a brief description of our culture, form of government, and more importantly about the Republic.

My comrads and I are Taledonians. We come from the Taledonian Empire which spands quite a bit of space. We are a cultured and polite people, who still enjoy the ancient traditions and values of our history. On the planets, if your not in the military and are not on duty, we usually wear tunics and togas still, as we find them comfortable and dignified. Our language is english, as you can see, and we have the freedom of religion in our Empire.

Our governmental system use to be a Republic, where an elected Senate would rule; but a recent assassination attempt on the Imperator of Taledonia, orchestrated by the Senate, lead to the dismissal of the Senate and the creating of the Empire.

But the thing we Taledonians are most proud of is the Republic. It is an alliance we created that has successfully brought together many nations, including Kazecistan who will also be joining us. We have an elected Imperial Senate that governs the Republic and have a code of laws and everything. We live in a state of bliss, as we seem to be blessed by God with our good fortune.

Ofcourse. Our Empire, though the name might be undeserved if we compare us to the size of your nations, is comprised of three races, from three systems, though only two of them have developed life. The caladonians, the remorans and the vidanians. The caladonians are the dominant species in numbers, but the others have equal rights aswell....Computer, display data on the caladonians, remorans and vidanians on the central display. These are some basic facts about us, just to give you an idea. We will compile a larger colection of data, and send it to your governments.

Caladonians
The Caladonians are genetically engineered humans with an average height of 1.9m and a weight of 200lbs, with black hair and black or blue eyes. They are enhanced for intelligence rather then strength, though they are superior to regular humans in that matter also. They posess lean, muscular bodies and they dont get fat, due to the genetic manipulation that prevents it. Due to this fact, people with similar height have similar weight and stature, everyone having the ideal weight for them. Coming from a long history of war, the caladonians have been promoting peace for the last three centuries. Though the replicator technology has brought a long era of prosperity and permited the peacefull inclusion of other races in the Empire, this has also brought more free time for the regular caladonian, many of them dedicating their life to the goal that was teached to them since birth, making the Empire the greatest nation in the galaxy. Some are dedicated scientists, others are warriors or fleet officers, each trying to bring his contribution to the Empire.

Remorans
The average remoran is 2.1m in height and has a weight of 100kg (220lbs) with red eyes. They are by nature hunters and warriors, the most powerfull species of the Empire, used as soldiers and lower rank personnel on the starships. Though they are very loyal and guided by a powerfull sense of honour, and quite intelligent, they are not used as captains because they often base their decisions on instinct rather then carefull consideration. The highest honour a remoran can have is beeing selected to be part of The Remoran Elite Sentinels. A carefully selected army of 50,000 remorans, these guards are the best Remora has to offer in terms of intelligence, strength and talent to wage war. The Remoran Elite Sentinels are considered the shock troops of the Empire. They also make very good fighter pilots.

Vidians
At 1.6m in height, the vidians are the smallest of the species that are part of the Empire, and the latest that joined them. They have a keen interest in learning new things and a talent for technical aplications, making them very good space engineers or officers on starships.

Mathar Al Narria ritual at age 16 that marks the passage of a child to adulthood. It consists of a probe at his choice, from over 30 different possibilities, according to his wishes, inclinations and studies up to that moment. The probe is usually in relation with the future carier choice of the child and can range from ritual battle to scientific tests.

Well, we didnt really expect to sign treaties right now. This can be done by our diplomats afterwards. But we wish only to inform your government at this date that we are interested in alliances, non-agression pacts or trading information and goods. We are willing to offer the same kind of information and goods, or maybe metals or other things. I`m sure our diplomats will be able to arrive at a sensible deal later, when they should meet and see what everyone has to offer.

"Captian, this is Nemvel. I need you to patch me into the communications network."

The Lueteniet proceeded to transmit several messages to Korgarein Fleet and Diplomatic commands to let them know of the new situations.

They have authorized me to inform you that they would like to continue diplomatic relations with your people and invite you to send a Diplomatic Envoy to the Draconious Primary 1 Star Base facility orbiting the Korgarein Homeworld of Korgara. There you can speek with Formal Diplomatic Officals with the power to say yes and or no to your proposals. They have asured me that the majority of your requests are already being considered and they have no problem with agreeing to them. The major request of our people at this point would be for a formal exchange of Embassies and Ambassadors."

The Commander was still at the table eatting. It have been a few weeks sence his last "homecooked" meal. Rations are the meal of the day for all Korgarein Fleet soldiers, Officers or not.

Coordinates of one of our outposts will be sent to your ship and the ships of the others as soon as this reunion is over. Once you arrive at the outpost, your diploship will be escorted by one of our ships present there to the Calpian Homeworld.

~Without warning the damage was inflicted... Multiple small explosions rocked through the fleet as a flood of small starfighters and bombers came out of nowhere and washed over the startled ships. The hulls of several vessels warped and charred as barrages of laser fire and plasma bombs exploded on them. The power signatures were identified by Theo's ship as those belonging to Draconic Order, but of an undisclosed design.
As the tiny ships bombarded the rapidly alerted ships, six cruiser sized vessels (about 600-800 meters long) materialized into view. Without delay the weapon banks on the now visible vessels began to fire stream after stream of energy and swarms of missles. The shots impacting on the now raised shields of the battle ready vessels.~

The Magnetic particle shielding on the ship would tear any fighters that came close enough to shreds. There was relatively little damage to the ship.

Within seconds, the elite crew selected for this mission went from green to red alert, raising shields and returning fire on the fighters and bombers with the rapid fire light photon cannons of the ship.

The Victor'd's sheilds shrughed off the blows. It then transmitted to the other ships that had been attacked "These ships belong to the nation of Draconic Order."

~What was left of the starfighters and bombers veered away at afterburner speeds as the targetted ships began to organise themselves together. The last payload was unloaded during the withdrawl, the impacts resonating throughout the shields of the starships, but doing small damage against the much more massive vessels. The bombers swiftly faded as they passed the cruisers, the remaining fighters taking up flanking positions around the larger attackers.~

Onbard the bridge of the Belgrov;

Alert!... Alert!... Alert!... The computer sounded. The Auto-Defence kicked in raising shields and setting Combat Alert level 3. The ships had taken light damage but the thick High density armour held up well.

Situation:

The two Tigeress Flak Refit Class Frigates quickly opened fire on the incomeing fighters and bombers. All of the Tigeress Class Frigates turnned towards the attacking vessels and opened fire with each of their two Fixed Heavy Gravimetric Cannon as well as their smaller turreted guns. The Gelomy transmited a distress call to Korgarein Fleet Command. The Destroyer Took position behind the Frigates and re-enforced their shields while fireing there massive assortment of guns at the enemy cruiser sized vessels as well as the fighters and bombers. All of the vessels were equiped with Auto-targeting systems allowing them to be extremely accurate.

OCC: DO You do know that this is a super destroyer that is 7km long and just fresh from battle and spacedock? So sheilds would be up and weapons charged.

The Redemption was only moment away form replying when the missiles struck her sheilds and exploded meters from her hull. Though few fighters and bombers ahd a chance to get close thanks to the fighters already clearing the debries feild who began to fire round after round into the enemy forces.
Though it took only five seconds every gun that was charged trained and fired on the enemy ships. Hundred of missiles almsot thousands streaked forth from the Redemption's many expanded missile pods followed closely by several nuclear missiles.
"Ma'am the AI's have already began to return fire. I sujest we alert the nearest ships," a engsin said as she turned to face her captian.
"Yes do that. I want any ship in the area that is bigger than a friggate to get in here," she said as she felt the jolts of the explosions outside, "I want Fallen Angel cannon's 1-3 charging and firing at one ship!"

Another message was sent.

~The missiles and energy blasts smashed against the shields of the six cruiser sized vessels, every now and then a missile or torpedo was intercepted by the flights of starfighters buzzing around the core. As the skirmish continued the six cruisers began to glow with a pale silvery light as the energy from the defenders weaponry seem to absorb into them.
In a brilliant flash, small tendrils of light begin to shoot out of each cruiser into another cruiser in the formation, quickly drawing a web of current that binded all six of the vessels together.~

"Lt. Nomat, execute atack pattern Sigma Alpha 5."

The ship cloaked for a brief period of time, getting closer to the enemy cruisers and launched at the closest cruiser in rapid succesion eight photon torpedoes from short distance after decloaking. The Raven then cloaked back and set some distance between him and the cruisers, only to reappear couple of minutes later at a longer distance.

"Shields?"

"Shields holding at 84% sir! Minor structural damage to the living compartment."

"Continue to fire on the small craft in the area"

The Victor'd launched a full salvo of missiles at the hostile ships.

The Korgarein Vessels were given new orders, Unresricted Combat. All of the Korgarein warships begain fireing all their weapons including torpedoes and missiles. They Korgarein Destroyer opened up with 36 Heavy Gravimetric Missiles on their way to the enemy cruisers. All of the ships opened up fireing their torpedoes. Each ship fired in rapid succession, 20 or so torpedoes per ship at one time.

Just as the webbing was forming three of the Redemptions Fallen Angel cannons fired with the force of several hundred nuclear blasts all targeted at one ship. The fighters managed to slip away and thenoens with anti-capital ships weapons began to fire them asfast as they could cycle at the same target as their mothership.

~One of the six cruisers caught the broadside, the shields collapsed, and a large gash carved itself into the side of the vessel. The tendrils connecting it began to faulter and rapidly diminish in power output to the other vessels connected to it within the web.
They returned fire against the Redemption, the web strengthing the combined assault into a barrage similar, but with more shots, as the Fallen Angel cannons just used on it.~

Red Comet opened fire. There was enugh fire moving through space now to destroy these ships in a heart beat. Zats, SPPTs, EWCs, and leathal ion cannons were all part of the barroge.

Though impacts began to occure the destroyer's hull was scared and sliced at as she returned fire like a cornered animal. Missiles continued to streak untill they were ether dry or the tubes were blocked, and plasma cannons fired with rapid sucession only pausing to cycle heatwaste.

~The amount of ordinance swarming at the six cruisers was contradictory to the purpose, most of the ordinance collided with itself or with the many laser shots being exchanged from either side in the small vacuum between the two fleets. The web began to break up as the six cruisers tried to burn past the active ships, exploding like a shoal of fish to escape the shark.~

The kazeci fire was well coordinated, so as none of it impacted other friendly fire. The Kazeci fleet stood it's ground on its 2 sides of the battle.

((one thing... nuclear missiles would be almost useless in space combat because most of the destructive power of a nuclear explosion comes from the air around it... the concussive kinetic force of a nuclear blast, properly channeled, is the only real threat that one can bring to bear in space... though I assume the Fallen Angel cannons are more like kinetic energy weapons...))

~In the tight confines of the area, stray shots from friendly ships accidently smacked into other friendly ships as they tried to target the rapid strike vessels. Though a lot of the concentrated fire did hit the cruisers as they tried to run through the gauntlet of ships, the fact that they would have to turn their massive bulks did slow down a lot of the defenders ships from getting opportune target locks.
As the cruisers began to move out of range, two of the six cruisers were crippled enough to be caught up with and disabled.~

((You have to understand that one can't bring to bear an entire fleet in a moments notice, especially that many ships... I just assumed that they began to trickle into the system once they were notified and could jump in.))

((Why would your fire hit your ships? Well, I am not sure that they would... but we are talking about a small section of space less then, approx. 20km square The fact that you said that you surrounded the battlefield means that arcs of fire may accidently hit your own ships as shots miss their targets, its improbable in your opinion, but no one hits their targets 100% of the time in this kind of situation.))

A lot of people post a sentance or two about what they fire and never really detail things like friendly fire, or whether strength was decreased because a power conduit overloaded, etc.))

Ic: the Kazeci fleet used their FTL drives to reappear on the other side of the fleeing ships, right in their path. They once again opened fire.

((Another civ that "jumps" in a battle situation... do you know how dangerous that maneuver is in real combat? I don't want to respond to that because you could loose all the ships if I open fire during the "jump", seeing as how the amount of power used in the "jump" makes your ships into bombs if say your engines were targetted during the pass.))

Ic:Attention all 'defender ships'. Kazecistan proposes the embedded battle plan to help us defeat this foe.

ooc: We jumped to what we thought was out of range, and shooting us while using FTL seems a bit unlikely, and our drives give almost no warning before they start/stop, so targeting us then would be hard.

~One of the now disabled ships caught a full compliment of torpedoes in its aft section. Energy rippled off its hull in streaks of lightning and the hull buckled as the ship slowly disintegrated under the strain. A flotilla of life pods blasted off from every side, filling the void with their presence. The vessel snapped in half as its engines exploded in a rapidly diminishing cloud of ionized gas and debris.
Three of the remaining five made it through the blockade and jumped. One of the two that didn't make it exploded during the jump process. The other's jump engines was disabled by a wave of missiles impacting along the engine housing.~

"Captain, shields have dropped to 62%. We have sustained damage from small ship fire. Second torpedo launcher is offline and we have sustained minor damages to life support. It will get a little chilly here sir."

Ten seconds later, the last four torpedoes launched towards the enemy cruisers, while the Raven kept firing on the smaller craft.

~The last of the starfighters exploded or jumped along with their cruisers, the remaining cruiser was a lifeless hulk, barely intact as all the systems were blown away or out of power. Minimal damage seemed to be sustained by the defending fleet for the amount of resources arrayed against it since the beginning of the attack.~

The Kazeci fleet had sustained attacks from fighters mostly, which was good as they were best equipped to deal with this kind of attack, much better than an attack from cap ships. They had however sustained minor damage to the surface: some bays were not able to open, and some small turrets had been blown clean off. They would need repairs before fighting again.

The Redemption lumbered over Raven using PD lasers to remove any major threats from the debries. Though her underside was relativly undamaged her topside was a difrent story. Hundreds of gashes ran along her hull cutting into weapons and the odd one punching deep into her inner hull.

A few minutes later the Korgarein re-enforcements arrived. The were less of Re-enforcements now and more like repair teams. It took some time but they fitted the Galomy with a Jump module and prepaired to take the rest of the patrol group back to a construction yard for repairs.

Most of the Kazeci ships had left. The delegates said their goodbys and expressed intrest in alliances with the Republic once again. They then boarded their transport and left. Once the transport docked, the last ship FTLed out.

Only seconds after the Raven had docked the Redemption's hanger doors sealed and a small group of workers moved out of the cover from their stations to begin a damage estimate on the Raven. At the other end of the relativly small hanger a sole LRV drove towards the docked ship, in it cpatian Victoria and her three guards sat as they moved closer to the vessel.

A small elevator platform descended from the Raven, on it beeing Lord Surak and his second in command, Lt. Nomat. They stepped down from the small platform and waited for the LRV to arrive at the ship.
