This happened on the Polarstern, the enormous Supercapitalflagship of Kaiser Martens' Reich. The Kaiser had entrusted the operation to General Von Karew, his most reliable man on the water. The fleet was enormous, it had gathered ships from many nations, like Kaiser Martens, the protectorates of Arcognus and Byzantinia, Verghastinsel, Soviet Sovereignty, Vanek Krieg, Szittyaorszaag, The isnatten island chains, and even the SS Leibstandarte Kaiser Martens troops were ready to strike. It was the most ambitious operation in the history of the young Silberunion, and it began now.

The insanely huge amount of naval power split in two groups, one to go directly towards Mondoth City, the capital, and the other one would be dedicated to destroy any naval resistance that may be found. Then, there was an also insane amount of Aerial Material who had been brought to battle, and those would be the ones to strike first.

The people of Mondoth City saw the inevitable as many airships went over them, only visible now, for they had Stealth Technology, the most advanced in the Reich. They parachuted down just past the city to block it, not only soldiers themselves but also good gear to be able to withstand tanks and aircraft, even though they would get excellent Aerial Support by the newer Walhalla type Fighters.

Soon, the fleet would have arrived within Bombarding Range of Mondoth City, and sometime after that the ships would reach the coasts and deploy the great amount of troops which had been sent into this sort of D-day type of operation.

Now, the next move was Mondoth's.

Martens watched the battle from a secret position far away and smiled, as remembering Napoleon's words, "It's always so beautiful at the beginning."

The troops that had been aerially deployed were composed of Reichswehr infantry mainly, with 1/3 of Engineers and Heavy Infantry, and also a good amount of light FlaK Vierlings and AA Rapierracketenwerfer weapons were thrown down for the soldiers' use. Also, a good number of Heavy Chainguns which can be used for AA but are not ment to be, and a great amount of 10.1 PaK antitank cannons were deployed there. Within some 20 minutes, the troops would have their equipment ready to be used, and they would get into a defensive formation ready to fend off attacks from the city or from the fields. Their main task was to prevent reinforcements from arriving, and so they soon would go ahead and break all transit, isolating the city, making sure not even a train, car, or man in bicycle would go in or out.

OOC, I do not know the exact amount of troops that can be sent, but since my nation is larger than mondoth i'd expect it to be rather outnumbered. SSLS (SS Leibstandarte) and Byzantinia are also my nations, and part of the Reich, but I am not using their whole "capacity" to bring troops into battle because that would be cheating, instead I have it be RPed as if they were simply another and in some cases elite part of the regular Reichswehr.

I want things not to go pear shaped so I think it's fair if Mondoth brings allies he may have into the battle if this is possible, but I want to be the amount of nations from either side of this conflict to be even, so if you want to join, please take that into consideration.

Arco had been one of the first men to land on the ground when the dull sound of planes hit through the air. When he had landed on the ground he had taken shelter in a nearby depression and waited for the rest of his men to hit the ground. The dull hum came once again but this time it sounded like a swarm of bees that were very close. )( One of the most terrifying things you'll ever hear. )( After a few moments it would be apparent that they had brought most of their Airborne divisions. Most of the divisions that landed had no vehicles. One vehicle was brought for Arco and when a few of his bodyguards who were protecting the vehicle brought it over, he would put his second in charge in command of driving it; this would prove to be an excellent decoy. With the one vehicle being Arco's, massive artillery units would come after that, being dropped behind the infantry.

In the sea there would be a fleet of fleets to say the least...Arco was now in control of Silberunion E-Gruppe and his own Arcognus. He had known that it would take them a little bit more time to come on land, but he could wait for that.

The vast submarine fleet of the Hammerdal navy approached the Mondoth coast with high speed, ready to aid Kaiser's troops in the invasion.

63 Gargoyle bombers, escorted by 80 Komet IIs have left Gaard to strike upon the sworn enemy, Mondoth. At high altitude, our squadrons are expected to be able to drop their bombs in about 5 hours.

The Republik of Verghastinsel has also comitted troops to the initial parachute drop; 13th, 14th and 15th Fallschirmjäger Legions, totalling 14,877 Combat Infantrymen, under the command of Oberst Rickard Vogel, commanding officer of the fourteenth Legion.

IC: The 143 aircraft from Is Och Guard were intercepted by a single SX-24 strike aircraft, well, the interception was really done by a pair of Bathor shadow type stealth missiles. each one armed with a 2 Kiloton Nuclear air burst warhead and was specifically designed to shed radar energy like water off a ducks back making it almost impossible to spot on radar until it was too late. The SX-24 stayed a nice safe 150 Nautical miles away.

WAR was declared against our allies, republic of Mondoth, by our hatened enemies, Laender of Kaiser Martens. Volunteers of 25,000 and 50,000 of regular troops was deployed in the territory of Mondoth to defend it's capital on Mondoth's command. They will be back as soon as this conflict will over for sure. Our new space-based laser weaponry will shield your country from any nukes. We will also provide our allies with intelligence data and sattelite photos. Our next step will be destroying or capturing enemy sattelites if our enemy will won't stand down.

Evidence was discovered several months ago, that a number of the Republik of Verghastinsel's neighbouring nation's (OOC: All were made up. No players) representatives had been secretly meeting, with the aim of forming an alliance. Now, individually these nations were no threat to Verghastinsel, but united they posed a serious threat. The decision was taken by the senate to launch a pre-emptive attack against Urelia (One of the instigators of the proposed treaty) and dismantle her government, thereby discouraging the others from attempting to take military action. This was effectively an act of SELF DEFENCE, and we are sure any government in a similar position would have acted likewise.
The Republic of Mondoth acted in Urelia's defence, not knowing that they were defending the guilty party. A Mondothan fleet was defeated off the north coast of Urelia by the combined efforts of the Silberunion, and several landings by other nations were repelled. Mondoth then proposed a cease-fire.
It was decided by high-ranking military analysts of the Silberunion that the government of Mondoth was insincere in their offer, and it was believed only to be a pause to allow them to prepare for a second offensive. Thus, the Silberunion chose to act before further military action could be taken, possibly preventing a much longer conflict.

Exactly. Mondoth also threatened the use of nuclear weapons against Verghastan military personnel in URELIA. The government of Mondoth would willingly commit such an atrocity on the nation they were "Defending".

First Councillor Lewis rubbed his eyes. the First Council had been in debate for nearly 9 hours over wether or not Karullian aid should be sent to Mondoth. Defence Minister Otetsu was strongly against the deployment of any more Karullian forces, as they were alrady on operations in Frooba and potentially in Alidor. Foreign Minister Swiftblade argued that as members of the MAPit was their duty to go to Mondoth's aid, and Trade Minister Harrison felt that aiding a nation acting as aggressor in the grand schem of things was a complete no-no, to use his own words.

The First Councillor stood up with a sigh. "Sokai, I want the Makoto, the Eridain, and three transport vessels ready for departure out of MacTavish within the next four days. Have them on standby, and open up channels with Mondoth. We shall not act just yet, but should the battle swing against our allies, then our word of honour must be held firm. Sokai, I want 10,000 men ready for mobilisation. Is this possible?"

Defence Minister Otetsu's face grew dark "Yes, First Councillor. I'll have 500 Pathfinders ready too. But I feel we are making a huge mistake here..."

First Councillor Lewis looked around at the twelve other council members. "Let us vote: Do we prepare Karullia for war?"

I and my operatives are in his country at the moment.

To date he has caused the death of five of my operatives who were doing no more than travelling to their pick up points, another is missing assumed dead..

He has also demanded that I use his aircraft to fly out of his Nation or he will nuke our homelands.

Needless to say, I will NOT be using any transportation given to us by him, his track record is not exactly reliable.

I have prepared my nation as best I can. It is all I can do, if he chooses to use nuclear devices on a country that has no way of protecting itself from it, then so be it.

100000 stormtroops, 24000 Ulfsaar elite troops, 460 Björn IIa heavy tanks, 900 Varg light armoured vehicles, 278 Verivoimat III artillery and a division of engineers and support troops were put under the command of the Kaiser Martens high command to support the neutralisation of a dangerous and psychotic foe who threatened to irradiate civilian territories with nuclear weapons. There is no cease-fire or peace as long as the safety of our nation isn't guaranteed. The Republican Council of Atais has also advised our neighbours of Isnatten to evacuate their population to their vast subterranean forts, since it's never certain where the nuclear missiles of this warmongering nation will threaten to go off.

OOC: I may or may not continue to post ICly about the attack depending on what Mondoth answes (We've been talking through telegrams) to make everything clearer. Anyways, here's the diplomatic IC part that for now I can and will post.

Many of you do not really understand what is going on here. It is always easier to avoid thinking, to simply choose to think that for some reason the one who is agressed is the innocent. But that is not so.

We did not have any other choice but to attack Mondoth. Even after we were trying to sign a peace ( Which we never got to sign, so please avoid false acussations ) the people of Mondoth continued to kill the operatives of Odins Forgiven who were to return back to their homeland because of the peace process. And even then, let's go back to Verghastinsel's post. The Verghastani claim was correct, as Urelia represented a direct threat towards them. Mondoth entered a war that did not concern them, to defend the Urelians, but it proved to be a big lie to steal the Silberunion from some of it's territory, when he threatened to nuke several areas, including Urelia itself.

I wanted peace, I wanted peace for my people. But I would be foolish to let Mondoth have the first strike against us. How long would have it taken for them to try a surprise operation? Or to try to send nuclear missiles towards us? As my fellow men and women of the Silberunion have shown, we really had no choice. It was either standing there waiting for them to hit us by surprise or we could try to hit first. So whose side should you be with? The one who is truly agressing here is Mondoth, and he is tricking YOU to think that he did nothing wrong, that you should defend him.

Besides, he is supposedly on this so called Alliance for Small Nations, but he is over the One Billion, I think that either this Alliance is corrupted and lets him remain for their own benefit, or no administrative member has noticed what happened, or perhaps the Alliance's ideas are contradictory.

It displeased me much to see that nation of....tree hugging lesbians....who is in the region which is closely allied to us trying to side with Mondoth. I will personally talk with Brusca, the founder, about this.

So, think things over. Perhaps some of you should back away, unless you support a nuclear holocaust and disloyal actions, and perhaps some of those who have yet not chosen to fight alongside our ranks, which currently are the ranks of truth - because it'd be foolish to say we are always right - should wake up and realize that even if they are not directly under attack, they should strike this irrational Pro-Backstab alliance Mondoth seems to have spontaneously formed, because if they let the Just fall, they tomorrow may just be under the same type of pressure and belatedly understand how every nation should oppose this kind of nations who as a whole constitute the epicentre of corruption, decadence, and lies around this world.

The Religious Commonwealth does not see this war as a just cause, as the Silberunion is attempting to make it out to be. Also due to our recent joining of the Mututal Aid Pact (MAP) it is our obligation to join in on the side of Mondoth.

If a peaceful solution isn't found within 24 hours, the Religious Commonwealth will have no other choice but to sent the Grand Navy to intervene in the situtation.

UberPenguinLand has requested that it's troops be stationed ONLY in the Capital City until we can find out more about the war. And the Mossbergs are specially modified to be usable with flippers. Our military scientists got bored, and that's what they came up with.

While you are there Penguins you may want to visit their zoo and it's aquatic exhibits, the penguin enclosure leaves much to be desired.

That was a poor attempt to switch UberPenguinLand to your side. We have no control over what Mondoth does in thier zoos, and war is no time to worry about it. Some Penguins are intelligent enough to escape, and some are captured. It is the way of Penguin life.

OOC: Odins, You think I'm stupid? of course I told them what the reasons and circumstances for this invasion were.

IC: The Agents of Odins were and have been engaged in Terrorist attacks against the Republic. We do not believe that this should have any impact on the peace process, Mondoth does not assosciate the disgusting attacks perpetrated by Odins forgiven witht he Silberunion and wishes that the Silberunion allows us to seek justice against Odins unimpeded by Silberunion intervention. Mondoth has NEVER threatend the use of nuclear weapons against ANY nation, we have explained in some cases that to defend our national safety, the strategic weapons of our enemies. Our only wrong was upholding the SPIRIT of the Mutual Aid Pact by attempting to defend a small nation against the imperiations of a much larger nation that did not attempt to find a diplomatic solution to the problem. Mondoth was NOT preparing for a second offensive, we were fully prepared to send a diplomatic envoy to discuss terms of peace, it was Kaiser and Verghastinsel that were apparently planning a second offensive using the cover of peace talks, as that is in fact what happened
Furthermore the Allegations against MAP are completely unfounded, The Nation of Cesania, author of this convention saw that nations possessed of greater than 1.5 billion population had a tendency to lord their power over smaller nations and created the MAP to defend against this unfair use of power. Any nation less than 1.5 billion can join and gain the help of all nations that have joined in the event of an aggressive action, if a nation grows over 1.5 billion then they can remain as a non voting member of MAP to help further the cause of justice against much larger nations. A recent amendment to the treaty allows nations Greater than 1.5 billion to join as non voting members.

OOC: TO all map Nation: Me and kaiser have decided to limit this to 6 billion on each side so this is pretty much closed.

So humans should go out and free EVERY human that is captured? It's natures way. Some live good lives, some do not. Besides, they are fed every day, they're never experimented on. I've talked to zoo Penguins and they quite enjoy it. They are better off then a lot of Penguins in the wild. I wouldn't expect a non-penguin to understand the life of a penguin, so I'll write this off as just being uninformed. And I didn't say Valkyrja was attempting to switch me. I consider trying to make me think my Allies are evil an attempt to switch me to the other side. Nothing Personal.

Mondoth just said Missiles, they never said Nuclear Missiles. It could be 'Missles of Love'(TM) for all you know. Seriously though, they could just be normal explosives.

Well, considering it says it will destroy the facilities and the surrounding areas, you're going to need a pretty large explosion, one that would most likely be nuclear. Besides, who doesn't use nukes with intercontinental missiles?

With me I have also Arcognus, Odins Forgiven, Szittyaorszaag, Atais, Is Och Gaard, and Svartberg-hammerdal, plus Verghastinsel and Vanek Krieg who entrusted his troops to me. These makes almost 6 billion population.

If anyone else would happen to want to join the Silberunion side, they can and I'll remove Vanek Krieg since the player can't be here to actually post due to RL issues. Of course, I don't think that's happening, excepting with Geisenfried who seems to not join the battle, but will provide supplies, so he does not really counts for the 6 Billions.

So Mondoth, when you can just talk to your guys and post the nations that are going to participate, please, so we can be done with all this. If you don't reach 6 billion we can always lower it. You have the advantage as you're defending, anyways.

Depends. I'll be roleplaying the supply shipments, since they're going to be pretty large, and will need naval escort, and if I'm attacked, chances are that I'll be in the war.

Allright, great. By the way, I did check the map before attacking, but the description was a bit choppy, so I'll clarify.

I deployed along with a few other nations a great amount of paratroopers just past Mondoth city, and also equipment for them (Antitank weaponry, AA, Artillery) to try and isolate the city. They will try to stop anything from coming in or out of it. Now the huge fleet I gathered is approaching, one will go directly towards the city to disembark and fire at whatever they might find and the other one will remain to protect the vulnerable backside against other fleets that may come to attack.

By the way, I won't ever use a nuke unless you use one. And, in which places are exactly located those things you mentioned were owned by another nation?

The Holy Imperial Republic of Nueve Italia denounces the actions of the Silberunion against the Republic of Mondoth, and demands that the stand down immediately. Failure to do so will bring forth a military response to this matter.

To nations wondering why the Senate has voted to go to war, we of Nueve Italia have a debt to repay to the nation of Mondoth for helping us in our own conflict some time ago. Secondly, to our knowledge, this military action has come about from an act of resolving a previous conflict. I know, I know. It's not my thread, and I have no business posting, but this was so blatant I was just curious as to how Arakaria could explain it.

OOC: I always put all funding in space program in every issue that has such possibility. I have over 350 million of citizens - 1 million is at least 1/4 what I capable to mantain. So funding used for half of my army goes to space weaponry. It isn't super-advanced. Only powerful laser on sattelite payload. I was thinking about 300 military space satelites... Is it too much to calibrate and shut down one satelite for my laser once per hour? If still do you belive that I'm Godmoding - compare my economy with my population and add that for my nation space is first priority. Than say how many % of your satelites was destroyed. I will accept any declaration.
As for 300 vechilcles destroyed per invasion - I forgot that only 30% os sats is used for defense... so lets say that I'm capable of shutting down around 100 aircrafts during an asault - come on... it isn't much compared to an invading forces (millions of soldiers are involved!).

Space defense capabilities are not limited to economy and amount of people working on such theories, but more on scientific CAPABILITIES, which I am afraid to say lack in such a large amount that to assume that the capabilities you speak of would be available in the next 100 years is presuming a very great amount. Notice also that shooting a laser from space the laser would disseminate at such a large rate that any such satellite attempted would need to be of such massive size, and generate such a large amount of power that it is not possible to standards to be set in the next 100 Years. The dissemination would spread the laser to approximately 300 Feet in diameter, and the loss of power would not allow it to generate enough heat to destroy even the ants on the ground. The only thing you can hope to destroy with such a device is the atmosphere. Say bye bye to the Ozone!
