Salt Lake City, Utah, Tongjing Terr. -

Today, Admiral Kyoko Mori has declared a full state of martial law in the wake of severe rioting in the city, in the wake of the recent Statues of Salt Lake, officially banning Mormonism and fundingthe conversion of Mormon citizens.

Issuing a statement today, Mori called for the "destruction of the heathen Mormon cult. It is a perversion of true Christianity that seeks to introduce its hateful Bible fanfiction into the modern world. It seeks to impose an anti-democratic, militarized, paranoid social order on those who worship it. It seeks to supress women in the bonds of slavery, clothed in Christian overtones, if not by outright polygamy, than by restrictive rules. That, I cannot tolerate."

"Effective immediately, I am ordering units of the Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico National Guards to seal the Borders of Utah. I am ordering units of the Free Mexican Military, to be led by General Fernandez, and Tongjing and XAFM regulars to intervene to quell the uprising. We will not give up. We will take all needed measures. We will prevail."

As she spoke, Mormon rioters were causing intense property damage and actively fighting Utah National Guard and Salt Lake PD Riot Police. Reports also indicate that Mormon resistance groups, united as the Nauvoo Legion, are taking to the Rocky Mountains, and urging all Mormons to "resist this terrorist influence."

Salt Lake City-

Tofay, we have confirmation that approxamtely 500 militants have barricaded themselves inside the Mormon Temple. They have taken Xenizen citizens hostage. The militants are confirmed to have sniper rifles, at least .30-06 and higher, and have fortified themselves with Molotov Cocktails and Machine Guns.

The militants have issued a statement, calling for the "repealing of the hateful statutes, which pose a threat to our culture and heritage, and our freedom. These people who cliam they fight for liberty fight a war that is little more than one of slavery. We will not free the hostages until this is done. Failure to free them will result in their execution all at once. Do not desecrate our holy ground."

Mori, in response to this, reportedly has said, "F**k you." SLCPD SWAT and SOG are reportedly forming a plan, though this has not been confirmed.

Meanwhile, National Guard units are reportedly acting to seal off the borders of Utah. Reportedly, 50 casualties have been taken, as Mormon guerillas have begun to use IEDs and snipers to attack Xenizen troops.

1200 ZULU-

The street in front of the Temple was filled with a certain electricity. Mormons and new Xenizens alike filled the streets, eager to watch the unfolding drama inside. Police barricades, SWAT vans, Land Rovers and Hummvees from the Utah National Guard and the XAFM were lined out front, obscuring the view of the events inside and in front. Soldiers and police alike pushed the crowds back; some with force.

All throughout, a huge van was set up in the plaza. Commanding the local forces that surrounded the Temple, the van was visited by Admiral Mori, who was gettign slurs from the locals. Dressed in a trenchcoat and sunglasses despite the 85 degree heat, she walked inside the van. The SWAT commander and military commander were awaiting her, salting her as she got inside.

Mori said, "Gimem the straight poop."

The SAWT man said, "Ma'am, the militants hold the Temple, and will let no one in or out. They have snipers; we've had to keep people at least 600 yards away, those guys are trigger happy, and those .30-06 wounds are hell to fix. They've taken potshots at us, just to anger us. They show off the hostages, bastards have them blindfolded and in underwear, doing jigs. They wave Mormon flags, and taunt us verbally. They have every approach surrounded, I've sent two teams to try and flank them, but they got shot up."

Mori said, "Tried anything else?"

The SWAT said, "Nope. We don't want another Waco."

Mori snapped back at them, "F**k that shit. Waco or not, I want those asswipes dead and those men freed."

The SWAT man said, "Look....it's not that easy. They will not negotiate-"

"I know," Mori said. "Here's an idea, blare metal music at them. I've a few Slayer CDs and some Ramones. That'll drive 'em nuts."

The military man said, "Very well, Ma'am."

They shot looks at the SWAT man, who was by now astonished and flustered.

Five minutes later, speakers were set up, and Slayer's "Raining Blood" was blaring out, and Mori was saying, "Hey cockbites! Yes you! Bitches!"

She then clapped twice, as to summon a servant, and said, "I'm Rick James, Bitch! I'M RICK JAMES! AND THE MUSIC WON'T STOP UNLESS YOU SURRENDER!"

Inside the Temple, the leader of the militants ordered his snipers to shoot the speakers.

A volley of .30-06 fire was aimed at the speakers, and some of them hit. THe speakers resisted the hits, and they continued to blare music. Soon, the SWAT snipers began shooting back, firing their M21s and Harris-McMillian Rifles at the enemy. A sniper war resulted, and soon the crowds fled.

All the while, Mori said, "They're distracted, now's our chance. Send in the SWAT teams and troops."

Before long, two flanking teams of SWAT and several platoons of infantry moved in, and used battering rams and slugs to break down the doors.

Soon, the troops poured in, performing breach-bang-clear operations on the Mormons inside....

OOC: I'm going to pretend I never heard that. This post was made in character, so it does not necessarily reflect upon real life ideologies I hold. I would ask that you refrain from such libel.

The standoff resulted fotrunately, in no blood spilled. Even the militants inside suffered relatively minor wounds, though they did get shot in the chest. Thanks to judicious use of CS and Peppergas, and good tactics, the Temple was in the hands of the allies.

All in all, only one man was hurt, and it was a minor grazing wound. The hostages freed, the militants were soon detained in a special holding area, outside of the city......

Meanwhile-

A platoon of XAFM soldiers marched in the hot Utah sun, guarding the border post. Despite all the right equipment, they still found it too hot and uncomfortable to do any sort of work in. They hated this; why the hell were thy out in the middle of God knows where patrolling the border of Utah? Many of the troops wanted to get in, and fight the insurgents directly. But, they were instead attached to tedious work.

They kept vigilant, looking around, hopeful that they would not be caught off guard as they inspected various autos and packages for weapons. Still, they didn't expect.....

...a sniper, hiding in the nearby arroyo. He pulled out a .30-06 hunting rifle, and zeroed in on one of the XAFMers. Then, a crack-, the man was taken down, the platoon went on alert. They took cover, and a man with a Barrett was brought up to hunt the man who sniped at the platoon.

The man eventually found the enemy sniper. A man in camo, and ammo bandoleers. With steady aim, he took a shot, and watched the man's head become torn asunder by the .50BMG bullet.

Things were quiet, for now....
