The Napoleonic Empire Falls... [Closed/Read Only]

Fascist Confederacy
13-06-2005, 02:30
It began several weeks before the prepared invasion. Due to rising unrest in the North American territories, the Napoleonic Empire was beginning to collapse. This, plus the loss of sanity amidst the mind of the French imperator caused ties between the Soviet Union and the Empire to slowly decay. Aggressions on the borders were beginning to form restless factions amongst the Napoleonic citizens. Growing distrust for the French authority also caused several failed rebellions in the North American territories.

Finally, Moscow decided enough was enough. The non-aggression pact signed between Comrade Troskin and President Louis Lambro became void. Soviet mechanized divisions rolled over the German-French border. Pulling support from local French villages, the Red Army began to advance. However, on the road to Reims, the National Napoleonic Imperial Army had set up their first line of defense. President Lambro knew that if Paris fell, the empire would fall along with it. A defense line nearly 2.5 miles deep had been set up. Three lines of soldiers, four massive artillery caches, and several mechanized divisions had been deployed.

Comrade Marshal Zaisov was in charge of the 9th Army of the WPRA. The divisions had been specifically brought together to stomp out the fascists from Paris. "Comrade Bovarjan," shouted Zaisov, "Come here!"

"Yes, Comrade Marshall?" The young General quickly said while running through the defensive trench to Comrade Zaisov.

"Ready your divisions. We're going to make a pincer move. Comrade al-Jazin will assist from the right, enveloping their right flank and rear as you pull into the left, severing their divisions. We'll assist you by bombarding their encampments with artillery while you advance. Should buy you some time. Now get going!"

"Yes, Comrade Marshal!" announced the General announced while quickly running to his readied divisions...

The WPRA had decided that due to the massive troop encampments, resorting to trench warfare would make it easier for the Soviet troops to advance. Constant baragaes or - misguided - fascist artillery helped to create natural cover. Soon enough, the advancement had begun. The constant battle cries of the enemy began to die down as BM-110's launched rocket artillery at the enemy. Yellow-orange trails cause the night to become day as AK-109 fire was heard off in the distance. The distinctive ack-ack-ack of the Kalashnikovs was easily picked out from the French made M-16's and outdated M-14's.

Cries echoed once the artillery ceased for several moments. It was time for Comrade Marshal Zaisov's onslaught. ST-190's, ST-90's, F-90s, and IFT-105's pulled across the terrain, crushing fascist corpses beneath their mighty treads. Trenches were crushed as massive ST-190's crossed them, causing death to hiding French troops. Soon, they had crossed the massive defensive line.

As the soldiers looked back at the body covered battlefield, small light began to peek over the horizon, giving light to the surviving French troops, waving anything white they could get their hands on. The Battle of Reims will be remembered as one of the bloodiest battles in Soviet history. But history wasn't being written now, only the wills of the French fascists waiting to be consumed into the Iron Curtain.

As the Soviet soldiers pushed farther, several small battles were held, including the Fasces Conflict. The conflict was staged twenty miles outside of Paris. The small village of Fasces - named after the legendary fascist symbol - was completely over run by French troops. Soviet soldiers were ambushed as they entered the village. Fifty-caliber and .30 caliber machine gun nests nearly broke the tip of the Red Sword. However, due to improvised urban combat, the Red Army was able to prevail, yet not without suffering heavy losses. A division was nearly lost between the dead and wounded.

Through constant perseverance, the Red Army was capable of pushing to the 1 mile barrier. The French army had entrenched themselves outside of Paris, destroying the roads and creating tank obstacles. Thus, through cooperation between the Red Army and Soviet Airforce, Su-91's were capable of bombing the obstacles and artillery encampments behind the obstacles, weakening the French final stand.

However, Zaisov still - unfortunately - was forced to deploy troops in. Again, the gunfire and muzzle flashes of automatic rifles were heard and seen. The fading light didn't help any as several French snipers set themselves up. They were forcibly removed by ST-190 MBT's. Finally, at 2:30AM local time, the Red Army pulled into the administrative district of France. Due to nightly raids, the city of Paris had been set under a curfew, allowing the streets to be free of traffic. The few soldiers that remained were arrested of had surrendered.

Comrade Marshal Zaisov had the distinct pleasure to arrest former-President Lambro after he made his final speech, ordering the Napoleonic territories to surrender to the Soviet expansion squads. Yet, this wasn't the last of the resistance against the Soviets. Fascists in the northern American territories put up a fight, killing roughly 2,300 Soviet soldiers in Boston and Albany. However, the fall of the Napoleonic Empire was near.

The Italian Province surrendered with little fight after already facing Allied and Soviet forces in WWII, UN, and NATO conflicts. Yet, peace wasn't yet gained. The Chairman of the French SSR was shot by a fascist assassin roughly a week after the Empire fell. A new Chairman was elected, but the damage had been done. It is still suspected that sleeping cells of the former fascist empire still remain in the French SSR and Italian SSR. Hopefully though, through time and understanding, they will understand the errors of their ways...

(OOC: The Napoleonic Empire was deleted due to absence. My friend ran the nation, and thus, he wouldn't mind me having it. He had planned on a Soviet-French war before he left. So, no 'j00 can't do that' stuff. Enjoy.)
