"Hello, everyone, this is Walter Krankheit, of RBNNN, the most trusted name in news. Today is an historic day for Roach-Busters. The Generalissimo won a hotly contested victory in the first genuinely democratic election in many, many decades. In his inaugural address, he pledged to make the following changes within the first month:

1.The abolition of the secret police
2.Drastic cuts in military spending
3.The restoration of trial by jury, the writ of habeus corpus, the right to an attorney, innocent until proven guilty, etc.
4.The abolition of torture
5.The de-politicizing of the media and the granting of freedom to individuals to speak their mind, so long as they do not advocate anything illegal
6.The release of all political prisoners
7.The permanent outlawing of Shooban hunting and Shooban slavery
8.Reconciliation with all nations who were alienated by RB's odious human rights record in the past
9.The de-centralization of the central government
10.The right of self-government for RB's overseas colonies
11.The introduction of free speech
12.The dismantling of the 'homelands,' and the integration of leftists, liberals, etc. into the mainstream society
13.The drafting of a new, democratic constitution, with help from nations known for their respect of individual liberty
14.The granting of amnesty to all secessionists of the recent civil war
15.The repeal of all 'pass' laws
16.An improvement in prisons' living conditions
17.The de-politization of the police and military
18.The repeal of laws making military service compulsory
19.Compensation for the victims of RB's past human rights abuses, as well as their families
20.The removal of all bugs from peoples' phones, with the exception of those who pose a definite threat to public safety

The Generalissimo has even hinted at the possibility of reverting to his former title, 'President.' Meanwhile, RB is ecstatic now that the 'old J.L.' is back. Crime has plummeted to an all new low, patriotism and unity are strong, and there is widespread acclaim for J.L.'s policies. The public was especially delighted when J.L. said, "And these reforms are just the beginning. Soon, it'll be as if dictatorship never happened in Roach-Busters." This is, indeed, an truly historic event. This has been Walter Krankheit of RBNNN. Thank you, and good night."

Though dismayed that the Liberal Republican Party did not produce the winning canidate, we are pleased to see at least that the Independant Party leader was defeated, since his policy caused great concern in our Foreign Ministry. Congratulations to Generalissimo J.L. And our sincere wishes for a peaceful and secure term in office.

Even though the party we originally endorsed did not win the election, they gained many seats. We are also very happy to see that the new President wants to bring change to the nation and start mending relations with the rest of the world.

If we see that these promises are carried out, we may look towards reopening diplomatic relations with the nation of Roach-Busters.

As I read the list of strong, effective, policies being destroyed because they are "abusive" or "prying," I find myself pressed to keep tears from my old eyes. I can only pray that a robust and passionate man like President J.L. will be able to deal with the consequences of letting the underlings run free.

Congratulations on your victory, I hope that your reign is long and glorious.

Will President JL be continuing positive Roach-buster/Farminan relations, in light of Farmina's new moralist government?

Furthermore will continue with the informal alliance that has stood, and furthermore formally pledge troops at this point in time to aid Farmina in case of wide scale rebellion from elements of the old order.

I would like to extend my sincere congratulations and commendations to President J.L., my good friend of two decades, for his election victory. The people of Roach-Busters have been given the chance to speak their mind about who they want leading the country, and although they have picked the same man who led autocratically for fifteen years before, I am confident he has changed for the better and am happy to announce that most Pacitalians now support a re-establishment of ties.

I would also like to congratulate Mr. La Follette, a man similar in his political beliefs to most Pacitalians, for earning a spot as the opposition leader. He will serve this position well for a long time to come, if not becoming President himself one day.

Best wishes, and congratulations on a new, democratically-elected government.

Sincerely,
