(OOC: If option #3 wins, I'll need some international observers. And this time, it will be a real election, not a rigged election, not an election where rival politicians get hunted down, not a single-party election, but a genuine, real, bona fide election.)

OOC: I'm going will option three. Why you ask. Because I don’t like Lee, he is a nut job. Because J.L. has ruled long enough but if he wins, that we be cool.

And you could always hire the agents from the Agency to guard the politicians. There are ten of them. Plus, I could have 20 man squad of the Transylvanian Army guard them, too.

If option #3 prevails, the following people will be the candidates:

Generalissimo J.L. (Patriot Party)
Winston Todd (United Federal Party)
Theodore La Follette (Progressive Democratic Party)
Donald Megan (National Conservative Party)
Hillary Suzman (Liberal Republican Party)
Chia Neng Lee (independent)

OOC: Voted for choice number three, of course. Lee's a dickwad.

Although we feel cheated and used from the last time we attempted to help democratic forces in Roach-Busters with our genuine and educated suggestions, we feel that this time, Roach-Busterians are serious about their desire to seek democratic, free and fair elections and we will help if we are wanted. We must, however, be given a guarantee that the elections will occur, an update to the constitution to account for democratic systems will take place within ninety (90) days post-election, and that we will be the major international force behind the democratic electionary operation.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

The elections will be held in a few days*, and a new constitution will be drafted immediately after the new President's term begins, and Pacitalia will indeed be the major international force behind the democratic electionary operation.

Btw, I will without question re-establish ties to RB if the democratic elections are indeed fair and free, and as I said, not a farce like last time. I'm thinking of making Dr. Kareli the ambassador to RB.

I voted for option #3 but I do hope that J.L wins the election. But anyways we can send you an elite group of soldiers to guard the politicians. Is that fine by you? Also we will send election monitors to make sure everything goes correctly, if you approve.

To all candidates of the Roach Busters election:

I, the God-Emperor of the Dominion, would offer a 20-man team of Transylvanian Army men to guard any of the candidates. Contact me, if you want to have them guard you. Plus, I will donate 10 million to each candidate from my own bank. Use it how every you want to.

To all candidates of the Roach Busters election:

Like the God-Emperor, I will offer all of my agents to act as bodyguards to the candidates. Each one will have a different payment plan. Contact me, if you need a top rated bodyguard.

The Second Empire is most pleased with the (OOC:probably) upcomming elections in Roach-busters. We have always advocated a free and fair government, and we are proud that our friends in Roach-busters have decided to pursue that path. To this endeavor the Second Empire is willing to provide independent observers. Also, the Second Empire is willing to help fund this election with $1 billion, straight from the Imperial treasury.

James Fier
Foreign Minister

OOC: I'd like to know more about the candidates and their policies. Although the names give me some clue, I'd still like more info. Conservative and liberal have differing definitions based upon what is normal and what is not. For example, a democracy founded upon the principles of, say, the Democratic party would have the Democrats be the conservatives and the Republicans be liberals.

The Weishaupt Nano-Industries Board of Directors is very pleased with the possibility of free and fair elections in Roach-Busters, and should they happen would happily pledge 10 series-P agents for the protection of candidates and their campaigns. If the elections are indeed free and fair then the BoD is interested in establishing branches in Roach-Busters and establishing diplomatic relations.

United Federal Party, centrist. The 'united' in its name refers to the party's wish to bring everyone together, regardless of political views, to work in harmony for a better Roach-Busters for everyone. They nearly always adopt a position that is in the exact center of those followed by the left and the right. They favor a neutral, non-aligned foreign policy, modest but not excessive funding for education, science, the arts, and welfare, a medium-sized military, free-market capitalism except for the right of the government to break up monopolies, and are neutral on the subjects of abortion, gay marriage, and gun control, which they believe should be up to the public to decide via referendum.

Progressive Democratic Party, progressive. Strongly anti-big business, though not necessarily anti-capitalist; they believe businesses should be regulated to a certain extent to protect the public, but they oppose out-right socialism. They favor social welfare, but only for those willing to work (i.e., people who sit at home all day and get drunk will not be paid a dime), and wish to dramatically increase funding for education. They favor an extremely large, powerful military to ensure RB's protection, but wish to remain neutral in foreign affairs and pursue cordial relations with all nations. They oppose outsourcing, vehemently oppose gun control, and favor prohibition of alcohol, a minimum wage, a national health care plan, and increased rights for workers.

National Conservative Party, neoconservative. They favor massive corporate welfare, a strong relationship with corporations and politics, an aggressive, interventionist foreign policy, a highly centralized government, and high spending on social programs, though they wish to spend a tad bit less than the Progressive Dems and Liberal Republicans, so that they can claim they "slash the budget." Anti-communist in rhetoric but not in principle.

Liberal Republican Party, socialist. They favor the nationalization of all industries, extremely high funding for education, the arts, social welfare programs, science, etc., an almost non-existent military, and an enormous government. They wish to introduce an extremely high minimum wage, introduce affirmative action programs, increase foreign aid spending exponentially, increase taxes to over 90%, and nationalize/socialize virtually everything. However, when it comes to social issues (i.e., gay marriage, abortion) they are extremely libertarian, except for gun control, which they support strongly.

IC:

Imperial Statement:
The Imperial Commonwealth of Malkyer is pleased to see that Acting President Lee will be holding a referendum in Roach-Busters. Regardless of the outcome of this referendum, it will yield unto Roach-Busters a truly legitimate government, a government chosen by the people.

In the event that the people choose to hold open and fair elections, I would like to send observers from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to monitor the elections, and am willing to send soldiers from the Royal Armed Forces to guard any candidates that wish it.

May the people of Roach-Busters soon taste the sweet air of true freedom, rather than the false liberty of authoritarianism.

Your ProDems seem a bit more centrist than the Pacitalian version, but I like their policies nonetheless and most sound like the Pacitalian ProDems, excluding the anti-big business part.

I don't mind if I lose the election, because I'll get to keep my palace, and I'll still have a huge private army. Plus, I'll still throw parties, and we can always go Shooban hunting. It'll have to be in your nation, though, because if I lose the election, Shooban hunting'll probably be outlawed, crazy as that may sound.
