Right, I noticed a while back ((can't remember when)) That a number of people where involved in a war, and one nation began using magic. Then the nation used it to amazing effect, only taking damage when the enemy was missed by his mage. Now, Lessr Tsurani ((Yes this is how you spell it, this nation is a rebuild.)) has been for a long time one of the high magic users, as far as I have seen, no one uses magic on the scale I do these days. Thus, I decided to make the guide.

Major Points To Remember

1. Magic is not a Quick Fix

Right, this is the most Importent fact. Despite Opinions, Magic In FT ((And if said anywhere)) is not A way to solve all your problems. Magic assists It does not make the problem insignificant. There are a number of Rps from the Old Naggrothian War Offsite forums ((Consiting of my friends from school, none play NS anymore.)) I will give the examples, then what they should have done.

Post one
Chikcortal roared, Naggrothians around him snorted. He smiled, ordering them into the run at the enemy position. They began, their powerful armoured hides gleeming in the sun light. The Thousand of them charged the enemy position, screaming their battle cries as they did.

Reply
Kain smiled, the enemy where falling right into his trap. In at some undesignated moment, his five mages stood, letting out massive bursts of energy. They would engulf the enemy and kill at least half, the rest gunman would take out.

Now hands up who can tell me what he did wrong? Simple, he used the magic as his main weapon. Now this is how the post should have been.

Kain looked with increasing fear at the enemy force. Their where hundreds of them, and all he had at his disposle was Give mages to assist the force. He nodded, and the mages stood, beging to hurl the balls of power. They would hit the enemy ranks much like aritllary shells, killing very few for the massive number, but giving the troops below the advantage. One of the mages screamed, his spell having back fired. Damn the initiate, he took more then he could handle Kain thought bitterly...

Right, as you can see with my post, it showed the mages where not massivly powerful. This is what this section is trying to show, Magic is not ment to be devastating in the use of one single Mage, but instead, they are used as a backing support.

2. All Magic has its limits

Which brings me to my second point, magic can not be drawn forever. Despite the fact it is helpful, using magic can tire the Mage to a degree only a few weeks sleep will restore them, and that is only after two hours of casting. Unless the Mage is a highly skilled and holds a Conduct of rare power, they will be exausted within an hour. While it may seem unfair, the price of Magic is that.

This also raises another point, If you continue on as you grow tired, the chances of a missfire increase. This is a new point, thus.

Missfires, What happens and causes

One of the more importent facts, missfires. This is when your spell goes wrong, this can have a variety of effects.

A. The spell is cast back apon your self, the effects are the same as they would be but on you.

B. The spell has a different Effect, this can range depending on your energy levels.

C. Your insides burn up trying to draw magic, painful death follows.

D. The Spell simply fires off, creating an explosion that will kill all within the area.

As you can see, attempting magic when tired or with little skill can be hazardus to all around you.

The Use of Your Will

The first thing, your will is not Psykic power. It is your free will. A mage may dominate someone elses will mearly by crushing their will, and their skill in magic increases the power of their will. To dominate will you must have Eye contact at all times, and they may have the power to crush your will even if you begin the battle.
