Why go to war over this? Haitenstanis have the right to run their internal affairs as they see fit. All foriegners inside Haitenstan are subject to Haitenstani laws and must respect Haitenstani wishes. Even when Haitenstan wants them to leave.

30 minutes ago, gunfire errupted from the Scottish Union embassy compound.
It appears that 30-40 armed individuals attempted to seize control of the
main building housing Shester diplomats. I have counted 10 bodies of family
members including three small children that were caught in the crossfire.
Scottish Union Marines returned fire killing at least 18 hostile forces.
It appears that the remaining hostile forces are held up in a small structure
and are trying to surrender.

Good evening,about 10 minutes ago a minivan crashed through the main
gate of the Scottish Union compound. The van was meet with intensive
gunfire. It did manage to make it to the living quarters of the Scottish
Union ambassador's home. The van exploded leaving a 100ft wide crater
where the home once stood. Luckily one one was in the building, two
Marines were killed by flying shrapnel and many more were wounded.

I have been informed by sources that evacuations could take place as early

I am here to confirm an attack on the Scottish Union Compound in
Haitenstan. Around 15:20 hrs armed gunman shot and killed 10
of our nationals. Civilians from Azazia, Holy Paradise and No Endorse
were also killed in the attack. Scottish Union Marines secured
the compound. Around 16:18 hrs, a car bomb was detonated
killling two Marines and wounding 23.

We do not know if this was an attack by members of the Haitenstan military
or a splinter group trying to escalate the situation.

Currently there are several hundred people that have made it to the compound. These people will be protected no matter where they are from.

The Scottish Union will make every effort to get these people out as quickly

Good evening. A Blackhawk helicopter has crashed
off the coast of Haitenstan. The helicopter was enroute to the Scottish
Union's compound when contact was lost. It is not known if the helicopter
had mechanical trouble or was shot down. Scottish Union Marines from the
3rd Shester brigade are attempting to reach the crash site. The crash comes
at a very bad time. The compound is overflowing with people trying to leave
before the June 10th deadline imposed by the Haitenstan govt.

The Blackhawk helicopters from the amphibious assault ships are brought on deck.

A forward operating detachment of about 30 soldiers has flown into a city and taken over a large supermarket parking lot. At this point, cargo helicopters transport Downs Class APC's in to completly block off the area. The compound immediatly has a wall put up around it (Combat Engineering, basically to stop a rogue AK47)

Once this is set up, Seahawk helicopters start flying over the cities with loudspeakers directing people of various nationalities to head towards the supermarket. By the time droves of people start arriving there, the Blackhawks are impound.

The amphibious assault ship can transport up to 500 civilians (it was designed with evacs in mind, remember) back to McKagan where they can arrage transport to their countries, or another nation closer by can allow us to dock and offload there.

In either case, the Republic now has 300 Marines on the ground in a non friendly country.

I'm not stating the attacks. And in any case, attacks or no attacks, this is a viable solution.

The 2nd Fleet with 250,000 Marines is outside of Haitenstanian waters. The fleet is ready to aid anyway it can, to stop Haitenstan. A TR-5A takes off and flys over Haitenstan at 75,000ft looking for targets.

OOC: Sephrioth that's probably not the smartest idea, may I suggest carpet bombing? Not as fast but if you use MOABs (Massive Ordance Air burst, it's like a nuke, only smaller) you'd still get the plate glass effect you're going for without all the radiation.

OOC: There are no such thing as clean nukes, and MOABs are way to big to be launched from fighters(You'd need something C-130 sized(What the US uses) or bigger and MOABs would be half the size of your F-22s), and again, no such thing as clean nukes unless you're using Neutron weapons.

ooc: this is why i'm treating reports of deaths as being "unconfirmed", they shan't be considered "confirmed" for the purposes of my IC story line until Haitenstan says that his roving bands of citizens really did kill Azazian citizens. I don't think it's necessarily wrong to say in news reports that citizens have been killed, after all the media isn't perfect, the crucial thing is to remember that Haitenstan has to decide if his men attacked our citizens, and then we each decide how many, et cetera. But in some respects, I'm enjoying the various 'reports' on events, which for reasons above are merely possibilities not confirmed.

And being able to intercept a reentering warhead is a GODMOD. Your best chance to intercept a ICBMs warhad is in the first fifteen minutes of launch. After that the warheads become impossible for anything to intercept them because:

A:Size. With miniturization(SP?), nuclear warheads have become really tiny(compared to first generation nukes). Tiny targets are hard to hit.

B:Speed. As someone said earlier, a reentering warhead moves at mach 15-25. Thats to damned fast for a targetting computer to lock onto.

C: Numbers. If your going to be smart, you are going to include some decoy warheads that show up as the same signature as normal ones. More Signatures=More Targets, More Targets=Bigger chance that warheads will get through.

There is one last thing I must note, and that is the MARV. While MIRV(Multiple Independent Re-entry Vehicle) is basicilly multiple warheads aimed at different targets, MARV(Maneuverable Re-entry Vehicle) is basicilly a MIRV... EXCEPT that MARVs can 'dodge' incoming objects. How they do this... I have no idea. But it increases the ability for the warhead to survive exponentially(if thats the proper word for it). For this reason, all of MY ICBM and SLBMs are having their MIRV warheads replaced with MARVs.

It's not a godmod.

It's completly possible for a missile to get lucky and hit 1, maybe a few, enemy missiles.

While unlikly, it's not entierly impossible.

HMS Revenge

The steady hands grasped the fragile china, which held boiled water passed over coffee grinds, with little else added. The long arms, no longer as muscular as they were toned, led to an angular face with a pronounced jaw, steel blue eyes glaring out over the stealth houses for the ship’s main guns, beyond the bow as it sliced through the waves to the distant horizon where the fortunes of his small flotilla would be made. His battlecruiser served as his command ship instead of the Ardent, which normally would act as such being a large assault ship – however, Rear-Admiral Liam O’Brien had no interest in dealing with evacuees and/or refugees. His purpose in being here was to facilitate and assist the Ardent by defending her against any possible threats from the Haitenstani naval or air forces.

He took a long sip from his mug, listening to the orders and reports to Captain Charles Smith – who he’d tasked with taking charge while he stood outside to enjoy his afternoon coffee. For several hours the Revenge had been operating silently with her main surface/air search radars shut down, instead listening for the massive amounts of radio broadcasts and signals emanating from the rest of the international forces gathering off Haitenstani’s coast. O’Brien had no intention of giving away any EM signals to foreign powers unless absolutely required by a devolving situation.

Throwing his head back, O’Brien downed the remainder of the coffee before turning his head to the sound of an aerial surveillance drone lifting off amidships. The small and sleek silver-coloured drone lifted off to starboard its composite rotors spinning relatively quietly. Smiling, he opened the hatch and returned to the bustling interior bridge. “Captain Smith, I see that the drone is away, have we recovered the prior one?”
