The Empire of Ghensia (FT)(Introductory Thread)

Ghensia

The Empire of Ghensia controls a handful of star systems and, until recently, lived in relative peace for thousands of years.

But things had not always been this way. Nearly five thousand years before the Battle of Yavin, a large and well armed Republic and Jedi expedition had been sent to this remote part of the galaxy in hopes of finding Sith forces. After conquering several dozen Sith colonies, the fleet was preparing to return home. However, even as they prepared to return home, parts of the fleet continued to search for more Sith planets. Instead, they awoke a strange and dangerous evil.

Realizing that this evil faced a grave danger to the Republic, the Jedi convinced the fleet stayed and fight it. Over the course of the next thousand years defeating they fought this strange evil, until they finally pushed the evil defeated. Over that time, with records damaged or destroyed, and all those who had been born in the Republic had passed away, the Republic faded into myth and legend becoming the fabled home of the gods. That all changed when Emperor Palpatine took power.

Since no one in the Republic had ever discovered what had happened to the expedition, Emperor Palpatine feared that some of the Jedi that had accompanied the expedition may have survived, though it had left thousands of years ago. So, he sent a battle fleet with orders to find any survivors and eradicate them at all costs.

For five years the fleet searched the Unknown regions until finally coming upon Ghensia. A great battle ensued, and the Ghensia forces suffered greatly for they had grown complacent in their time of peace. But in the end the Ghensian fleet rallied and defeated the Imperial forces. Since then, and the subsequent seizing of power by war-hero Admiral Telon, the renamed Empire of Ghensia has increased its fleet's size exponentially, and slowly prepared to do battle in Imperial Space.

Army:
The smallest of the two branches, at its core is an elite group of Sentinels (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=9180247&postcount=15) who's fury is feared across the galaxy.

Jedi Order

Jedi Masters: 40
Jedi Knights: 893
Jedi Padawans: 678

NOTE: Jedi Master is reserved for only the top forty force wielders of the Ghensia Jedi Order. All others are either Jedi Knights or Jedi Padawans. In the Ghensia Jedi Order it is not uncommon for Jedi Knights to be in their sixties on up, because of the limitation on the number of masters. In addition, the title of Jedi Knight is much harder to get. This often means that very often Padawans in the Ghensia Jedi Order are equivalent in skill and power to Jedi Knights of other branches of the Jedi Order.

ooc: Any suggestions? I have experience RP’ing Modern Tech nations (as Kordo), but FT is rather new to me.

(OOC: Well, the bit about forgetting about the Republic kinda struck me as odd. That, and the one hundred years of fighting for a single fleet, but it came together in the end. I'm trying to figure out just how am I going to stumble on you though.)

ooc: The back story is very much a work in progress right now.

Anyone interested in 'stumbling' across me? Or have me stumble across them?

OOC:Ooh, cool, Kordo's FT! I'm a great fan of your writing.

Anyway,m would you mind if the the Galactic Police (Yafor 2 owned and operated) "stumble" across you? It would be *very* interesting.

ooc: Am I crazy or did you say you had 600 BILLION people? Could you clarify?

I might be intrested in joining, I think it might be best if you found me though.... TG me if you want to work it out.

ooc: Nice to know I have a fan! You can discover my nation at will. I'm really looking forward to get some FT RP'ing going.

ooc: Yep, 600 Billion. Since this is FT and since most or rather many nations have a couple hundred planets and hundreds or even thousands of ships they could not support with NS based populations (Kyanges for example is one of those nations I believe). I'm thinking about altering it though (most likely downwards) depending on what I think I can RP realistically.

As to me stumbling onto your nation, it sounds good. If you could TG or post some basic info about your nation/space empire/thingy such as tech (star wars, star treck, custom, exc...) or other info that would help me to start it off.

ooc: Sorry, but I only go by NS populations. I'm a little more accepting when it comes to too many ships than I am when it comes to out right lying about your population. Keep the ships, but change the population back to 7 million. Just IMHO. If you change this, TG me and we will work it out.

OOC:I can vouch that he is a good RP'er, so I would suggest:

Scale down the population to 1-3 billion.

Don't RP with people like Kazecistan who only go by NS populations, disregarding the fact that you are a very skilled RP'er with nations over 1 billion.

That's my opinion.

Also, should I start the RP today?

ooc: If he has a nation that big (which I don't doubt) then he may creat the FT verson of it and be accepted for that size population.

And from the Guide to GM:3) Example: A 2 day old nation with a population of 6 million posts "My 6 billion man army invades u with NUKES!!!!1"

Why this is Godmoding: Okay, little guy nations, I know you're anxious to start throwing your weight around, but let's be honest; you are piddling nothings when you first start out in the world.

Fare well to this thread, nothing against those in it, just doesn't work for me.

A nation as young as yours (FT version) shouldn't have ANY SSDs, let alone 5. As for your population, so long as you keep to your NS population in regards to your economy and such I see no problems with saying that that is the effective output of your 600 billion person nation. Since let's face it no FT nation, myself included, could control their teritory with their strict NS populations.

OOC: I recommend that you try sticking to at least the basic premise of your nation's game-based description. As someone who's gone the route of piling on the power to create a super-nation in the past, I can tell you that its pretty damn boring. The key to enjoyment in NationStates is quality roleplaying, not gigantic fleets and legions of planets and people. Start small. I'm perfectly comfortable roleplaying with three and a half billion people spread over three star systems with a defensive fleet of just over one thousand ships. It's not enough to protect me from anything, but it's not meant to be. After all, if I was invincible what would be the point of playing the game? Bending the rules is more or less standard operating procedure here, but completely ignoring the basic facts of your "official" NationState is liable to get you ignored by a good many people. Of course, if you don't have a problem with that, nobody can stop you. Free-form roleplaying is all about finding common ground that both you and those you play with are comfortable on. Frankly, if you want to be a super-nation, International Incidents is the place to be. Most of that type hang out here.

ooc: Thank you everyone for your suggestions. As I said earlier, I'm new to FT RP'ing so I really do appreciate your suggestions. I'm thinking of converting to my own ships which tend to need less crew anyway. Thanks for your help.

Tag, I am one of Unified Siths Puppies, be careful, we are watching you....

Edited population down to 2 billion. I hope this doesn't angry as many people though if people have anymore suggestions/comments on it feel free to post them.

NOTE: I'm going to change the fleet make-up drastically most likely tommorrow (saturday) so if you have any comments/suggestions on its current size/make up you probably should save them to I alter it,

Yafor 2:
You can begin it any time your ready.

EDIT: Some of the ships I will be adding can be found here. (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=372886) The post was originally by my first, now deleted, FT puppet of mine as you can tell by the profile. I've designed some new ships and will post a new thread soon so if you could hold your comments on the designs until then.

Welcome to Future Tech.

First of all let me say, that Future Tech is a dangerous place. In times of great trial and hardship, there is always one place to turn to and that is the Galactic Empire.

http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=423197

However, before I continue, I must say that I too follow the same system as your own, however in order to keep things fair and realistic, you must keep your military forces in line with what your actual Nationstates population could produce.

Your current Navy is what I would personally say you’re capable of, however upon the Galactic Empire, your nation would receive the many benefits provided by the Imperial Navy and the recently passed Imperial Defence Ratification Act. You would receive access to the cloners of Kaminos, the prized shipyards of Kuat, and all the benefits entitled to you being a member of the Galactic Empire.

Good Luck in Future Tech, oh yes, and I must end with the ominous, I am watching you.

*Looks at Unified Siths post with Glory is eyes* Did I do good master? :P

Na, Seriously though, its all good, It could be interesting RPing the battle between your old forces and the ones Palpy send against you. Oh and he has Jedi Master, he would be fairly silly to sign the defen......I shall shut up about that, but yea, TG me if you want to Rp out the battles of the past!

I've decided to use my NS nations population for the time being. I've also decided to ships from the Babylon 5 universe, purchased from Calpe's storefront.
