Special news report by the Huahinian Broadcasting Corporation

We have breaking news in from our Ministry of Defence, that Huahinian forces have landed in Ajara, Georgia, in the town of Batumi. They have so far met limited resistance from the soldiers of The Knight Templar, who seem to be reluctant to fight. Local sources suggest a lack of pay being the main reason behind it. Huahinian Paras were dropped in first of all, and they took over the largest local airstrip, on which landed the pride of the Air Force, the C-225s, the largest planes in the world.

The officer came running into the office of the Emperor, who sat in a meeting with the Minister of Energy and the energy advisors. This caused the Emperor to look sternly to the officer.

"You better have a damned good excuse for interrupting my meeting Major."

"Yes sir, I do. Huahinian forces are invading Georgia sir."

"Which Georgia? The one in North America or the one on our doorstep?"

"The one on our doorstep sir. Defense District Moscow reports that it's increasing its military readyness to full alert sir. We need to implement certain measures to ensure Cotland's safety. One of which is to increase the readyness throughout Cotland."

"Very well. Get me the Joint Cheifs and Minister of Defense in here on the double. We've got some work to do."

"Yes sir."

The Major saluted his Emperor before he left the room.


Fifteen minutes later
The Joint Cheifs of Staff, which included the Field Marshall of the Army, the Admiral of the Navy and the General of the Air Force were inside the room, having rushed from their various offices in the Ministry of Defense along with Bill Shaw, the Minister of Defense. They all had five flag-officers with them into the room, and several other lower-ranking officers waited outside.

"Sir, reports are that the Huahinians are landing in Batumi in Georgia. They are using paratroopers, and have limited support from their home country. Soldiers from the Templar army in Georgia have extremely low morale, most likely due to lack of payment from the collapsing government. We have put all available fighters on highest alert, and have increased CAPs on the border. SAM and AAA sites on the border are also on highest alert. We can have fighters and fighterbombers in the area of the invasion within the hour, establishing a BARCAP for any incoming support planes, and attacking the forces already on the ground. The fighters we would use will be F-16s, F-22s and F-29s from the wings in Rostov and Sochi, supported by KC-10s and E-767s. We're ready if you give the go-ahead sir." the General of the Air Force said. The Emperor nodded to this and gave the goahead for the operation. Then the Admiral of the Navy started to speak.

"Sir, the Imperial Navy don't really have a massive presence in the Black Sea, but we have several cruisers, destroyers, frigates and the new Tennessee class submarines there. They can assist our friends in the Air Force in shooting down incoming aircraft, as well as destroying any Huahinian naval forces in the region. They are on highest peace-time alert already, and can start operations within twenty minutes after you give the goahead sir."

This was also approved. Then the Field Marshall of the Army started.

"Sir, as you know we have an army group in the defense district, not to mention several tens of thousands of reservists in the area. We can begin a full-scale invasion of Georgia within seventy-two hours if need be, beginning with a pathfinder unit consisting of two airborne divisions parachuting into Georgia first, followed by six armoured and twelve infantry divisions and assorted support units. Our Air Defense Groups are also on highest alerts and ready to assist the Air Force in case of any attacks on Cotland itself. We await your orders sir."

The Emperor nodded in agreement, but hessitated to give the goahead.

"I want more intel before I send Cottish soldiers in on Georgian ground to attack. The air and naval units are authorized to engage though. Also, send them a couple of Tomahawks towards the occupied areas in Georgia. Let them know that we don't want them there."

The soldiers nodded in agreement and left the palace to start the plans for retaliatory assault. Outside the signs that this was not an ordinary day was clear with the fully armed soldiers in green BDUs and combat equipment outside the Imperial Palace, in contrast to the normal contingent of soldiers dressed in parade uniforms.

The first of the fifty BGM-109 Tomahawk Land Attack Missiles were fired from the mobile launchers twenty kilometers from the Cottish border with Georgia. They would attack all known Huahinian occupied territory in Georgia, beginning with Batumi.

The soldiers on the border entered their defensive positions (bunkers, pillboxes, MG nests, etc), and the large minefields at the border were activated (minimum 300 meters wide, consisting of anti-personell and anti-tank, covered by mortar and MG nests). The Border Police were also on higher alert, and F-22s and F-29s were active in the skies. Any incoming aerial target would be considered hostile and attacked. So would the many SAM sites on the border.

After an hour, a multitude of F-16C Fighting Falcons took off from the air bases on the border armed with JDAM bombs and escorted by F-22 Raptors and F-29 Vultures armed to the brink with air-to-air missiles of the type AIM-9X Sidewinder and AIM-120C AMRAAM. They would intercept any Huahinian airplanes and shoot them down, while the F-16s would bomb Huahinian positions from a altitude of 28 000 feet. Well above standard SAM units in army units. Nevertheless, they did carry a lot of chaff and flares in case they were fired upon. They would be at the location over Batumi in thirty-five minutes, cruising towards the target in Mach 1.5.

OOC: I have no problems with you OOCly, but ICly our two nations are at war. Therefore, I consider any Huahinian attempt to gain land so close to Cotland a serious and immediate threath to the safety of the Empire that I am forced to preform a pre-emptive strike, something I am well within my right to do since I've declared war on you (not that anyone cares about that in Earth II, but still). There are currently two ways to end the war.

1) You officially surrender and appologize for the misdeeds attempted in the Shetlands and withdraw from Georgia.

2) You die a slow and horrible death (IE all your territories are attacked, invaded and occupied by me and my allies).

It's your choise.

Cotland most likely won't allow either of us into Georgia, due to the fact that Huahin is alllied with us.

Huahin: Or we could end the war through diplomatic channels. The reason why I want a surrender is due to national pride. But we can negotiate if you want. Untill then, the attacks will continue. It's up to you how you want to end the war. I leave it to you to choose the right way.

Kreynoria: Well, as long as you are allied with Huahin and I'm at war with Huahin, I have no desire to see any of you land in Georgia. It would bring upon you the wrath of the Cottish Empire. Hell, I might annex Georgia for myself to act as a buffer zone.

OOC: What? The country above Georgia? You mean Russia? The last time I checked, I had in my posession most of western Russia and a border with Georgia. I want Georgia. Give me Georgia, and I will end the war with you and allow you to open an embassy in my capitol city of Cotlandstad. Do you have an IM (IE MSN or AIM)?

As a further reassurance, I want Eppessinia (Andrehervia) to control the territory between us. He is neutral in this conflict, and will serve as a buffer between our two nations. I have debated this with him, and he agrees. In my eyes, this is the best peaceful sollution. Do you agree?

COTLANDSTAD (CFP - Internet edition) - The Emperor of Cotland dropped a huge bomb on the public today when he announced that after a series of secret, high-level negotiations, the Empire and the nation of Huahin has agreed to end the state of war that has existed between us. "It was the best thing for both nations. Now we can focus on other things then the Huahinians." the Emperor said his statement. The war was ended in a peaceful way, with a result that both nations were satisfied with.

A buffer zone will be established between the southern parts of Cotland and the areas Huahin wanted to annex, going from the Cottish border down to Tiblisi in Georgia and all of Azerbadjan, while the Huahinians get the southern part of Georgia and all of Armenia. Both Cotland and Huahin agreed to let Eppessinia administer the buffer zone, thus ensuring that no incidents occur.

Needless to say, the Empire is now in a state of joy, with the date of June 20th as a national holiday. We will bring you more on this when it occurs.
