It is with great alarm that I come to the international community at this time. As you know, the Rogue Nation of City 69 typically keeps to herself, though recent events have forced her to come to the mercy of her fellow nations. The respected leader of our grand nation, Chairman Major Xavier T. Donovan, has had an attempt made on his life. Due to some breach of security within the Inner Party headquarters, an assassin made his way into the Chairman's office and shot him three times in the midsection. Thanks to dedicated medical teams, the Chairman's condition is now stable, however, the assassin managed to escape before our esteemed police force could catch him. We suspect that the assassin is part of a larger force against the Inner Party, and we also believe that this force is located outside of the borders of our very small nation. We ask that any information known about this force would be wired to us at once. Thank you, my fellow nations. Long live Big Brother.

Why would someone want to assassinate the leader of your nation?

There are several motives a would-be assassin might have, each depending on his status or home nation. Our leader is known for his...questionable ways of dealing with the general populus. The police force and military both answer directly to him, and both forces are highly invasive in civilian affairs. in fact, all Party members are monitered via telescreen twenty-four hours a day. Furthermore, political freedoms have been outlawed, along with free enterprise. When the government took hold, the rich upperclassmen were mostly reduced to poverty. The assassin could be a hired hitman, or a professional with a personal vendetta. He could also represent a rival nation, as we have collapsed some sort-lived nations in the past. In fact, he could be a part of the old government, disgruntled after being left with no power. In any case, anyone stirring rebellion against the Inner Party, the Major Chairman, or especially Big Brother, must be harshly dealt with.

Do you have any information on the assailent?

The assailant was masked in black, and in a black suit as well. We assume him to be from beyond our borders, as he appeared stronger, healthier, and cleaner than most of our residents. Not to mention the fact that the clothing he wore could not be found be the general public in City 69.

Thank you, Republic of Marric; we are grateful for your efforts. We were unable to take a picture of the assassin, but we are convinced he has done jobs like this before in other nations, due to his professional stature. There must be some information on of you can provide. Unless this is an international conspiracy against City 69...

Because of the vague descriptions, it would make identifying the person next to impossible. Should not the telescreens have picked something up?

There are no telescreens observing the Inner Party members, such as Chairman Major Donovan. They only wire information on the Outer Party members, namely, the general populus. You must understand, however, that our search isn't just for the assassin specifically. That is too vague, as you said. We are seeking any information that might suggest an organization plotting against City 69, her leaders, etc. This should be much easier to look for than one man.

As you've already said, the possibilities of the groups plotting are many and varied, making it nearly impossible to track.

Remember, we are not searching for the motive behind the killing at this time. Think of this from a different standpoint. We are searching for any group that would plot against us for any reason. Motive and justification can come later, and be handled by our own Ministry of Peace. Here's what we know:

The assassin is from another nation.
The assassin is part of a larger group against City 69.
The assassin is a professional.
The assassin was not born in City 69.
The assassin could have any motive.

We don't need specific information at all, just information that may lead to further investigation.

The number of professional assassins from other nations must stretch into the hundreds of thousands if not millions.

"yes, it is, Donner, do you know how much persons have been captured on Luxembourg/ Findel Intl. Airport coming from City 69 this night?"
"let me see...." a short noise could be heared, it sounded like the keyboard of a Computer. "ehm... About three I guess, all coming from the same flight...."

"Ok" the continuous beeping announced that someone had laid down the horn.

Let me be blunt here. Normally somebody of my prestige and stature would never care to delve in such meddlesome affairs. Infact, I should affairs that really, never ever interest me. This case is an exception. Let me tell you, he is not from my land, for he has some important....valuables from me. Why, i do not know. Infact, I don't know why somebody of his profession would do such a thing, except...well .. I guess whoever catches the man, and please let that be, will find out what he has in his possesion. The CLS 55 AMG police car stood in the grass near the Motorway, doing Speed checks on passing vehicles. Suddenly, A Ferrari passed at a High rate of speed, stunning the Officers in the police car.
"This is Lyon 5, following a Red Ferrari, probably model 612 Scaglietti, License plate 87343-CG-05, requesting support"
"roger that Lyon 5, we're sending Lyon 6 to you, what's the current speed of the subject?"
"We measured the speed at approximately 305 Km/h"
"Roger, I must warn you, this car is stolen, and witnesses say the Assassin stole this car, be advised, probably one hostage was taken during the action"
"roger, ETA for Lyon 5 minutes, out"

the Mercedes-Benz CLS 55 AMG police car accelerated to 250 Km/h, a speed on which they couldn't see the Ferrari.

2 KM behind them was a Koeniggsegg CC, with a Speed of 400KM/h, called up to go in pursuit of the Ferrari.
"Lyon 6 to Lyon 5, where are you heading?"
"Lyon 6, great to hear from you, we're currently heading to Marseille, ETA 50 minutes, out."
"OK Lyon 5, our ETA is 30 minutes ,Out"

-on the A6 in vicinity of Marseille, 20 minutes later-
"this is Marseille 1 to Lyon 6, roadblock set, awaiting ETA"
"this is Lyon 6, we've left the Motorway and are heading to Cassis, out."
"Darnit! Roger that, Lyon 6, We're blocking Cassis, out."
"Okay, I'm currently at N654 en route to Cassis, I Left Lyon 5 behind now."

-5 minutes later, the silent Village of Cassis on the Mediterranean coast-

Police was everywhere, Police blocking the roads, police guarding the Air and Sea, counterterrorism operatives readying their MP-7's behind roadblocks...

2 minutes later the noise of burning tyres could be heard, and some say they saw a Red Ferrari ramming through a Roadblock, killing two Counterterrorism operatives, immediately braking and coming to a halt. one person ran out, aiming a gun at the following person to get out. they got into a hotel that had a view on the Med.

a minute later he closed the doors before Agents could grab him, but those agents could see what happened, the Assassin called all tourists down into the hall, where he tied them down.
The agent from Marseille 1 ran to his car, grabbing his mike.
"Marseille 1 to HQ, we got a Hostage situation down here, send the TCT, out"

This is General O'Brien, head of the 6th Military Police Division of City 69. We have received word of the hostage situation and are sending three special operations divisions to your location. Futhermore, we have also been contacted by an unknown party in relation to this incident. They have demanded the assassin be set free, and they threaten mass violence in both our nations. Chief, this organization may be more widespread than we thought. In any case, we're working on tracking the call, which will be our focus. Good luck with the hostages, but don't hesitate to sacrifice them for the well being our our glorious nations.

We will send you the sound tape, which has the records of the interrogation on it. we are worried with your word on the unknown party, but we cannot set him free as we haven't already captured him. General O'Brien here. My Special Ops. units should be arriving now. We received another call and have tracked it to a spy plane in your airspace. However, it appears the signal was just being bounced off the plane from another location. In cany case, it would seem the call's source is in Van Luxemburg. Anything you find out must be reported to the Ministry of Peace at once.

"NO!, I cannot order someone to murder innocents, the hostages must be saved at all costs! we want them ALIVE, not DEAD! we can't do that in a democratic country!, and, he can't go anywhere, the whole REGION of this city is full of police officers, army units, counterterrorism operatives and coastguard. if he runs for it, we'll catch him! OK?"
The officer walked towards his car again, grabbed the mike and spoke:
"this is Marseille 1, what's the status of 41st Elite?"
"HQ here, 41st Elite is on it's way, ETA 5 mins, HQ out"
"Roger that, Marseille 1 out"
he walked up to the City 69 operatives.
"heard that? our 41st Elite Army division will be here shortly, that means that you can sort it out with them......" his voice was washed away in the sound of turbofans. 10 A400M transport aircraft flew over and dropped the complete 41st elite Division. Shortly after the transport aircrat had disappeared, a Man walked to the Police officer.
"Reynold Marechal, commander of the 41st Elite." he laid his FAMAS FELIN Assault rifle over his shoulder
"you there, with that F2000 behind me, get over to the building and check the area"
The Police officer was surprised, how could he see what was happening behind him? he immediately got it, there was a gun mounted camera!
"okay, what's the insertion plan?"

ooc: I got the assassin covered

Renault dragged the woman by the hair toward the kitchen, ordering the other guests to stay ahead of him, to be quiet, and to not get any ideas.
Waving the pistol around he grouped the guests along side one of the preparation tables. He then picked up the phone and dialed emergency.

"I have 30 or so hostages, a gun, and a small army outside, could I please speak to whomever is in charge?" His polite and quiet demeanor served to calm the hostages, as if, suddenly, he wasn't a murderer for hire who had hauled them from their rooms in a desperate attempt to save his own life. "Hello officer, if you don't convince me that I'm going to walk out of here alive, and free then I will kill one of these fine people every ninety minutes. Thanks." He hung up, and the screams resumed.

The officer was talking with the commander of 41st elite, when the radio in his car became noisy. he ran towards it, assuming it would be HQ, telling them that 41st arrived.
"Marseille 1 here."
"This is HQ, I have the Assassin on line 1, shall I set him on your line?"
"ofcourse"
"Here he is"
"Okay, now, We are giving you a Free way out when you are not killing any of the people inside. a car will be readied in a few minutes outside of Cassis"
SECRET IC:
"What the hell are you trying to do?" the commander asked the Police officer in a panicked way. the Police officer laid down the microphone, walked away from his car and said:
"Van Luxemburg is an island, remember? we've got one of the best navies in the world, and if a ship is outfitted with Radar, our ships are all Stealth. and you didn't think he could get past the customs at the airport?" the officer laughed, it WAS impossible to get off the Island.
"and...., you forgot we've got 4 Mirage 2000-5 Multirole fighters above us."
he pointed up, where four white stripes could be seen, the aircraft were certainly there, but you couldn't hear them.
"and new aircraft can be here in a matter of minutes. Hell, if we're even lucky we can get Mirage 2100 aircraft with Chameleon skins, the assassin wouldn't even see them!"

Renault smiled, they thought they had him played. He quickly applied some convincing makeup to make him look more native. He wrapped several charges of plastique in cloth, attached detonators and handed them to random hostages. "If you drop them of make like you have them, they explode. If I die, they explode, got it?" He then set the remote to a tight wave to avoid detection at more than a block and then to his biosigns monitor, should any two of his four lifesigns flatline, well, it would be messy.

Another call to the officer in charge followed. "No car, a helicopter, no pilot, out back and a small aircraft capable of long range flight waiting on the tarmac when I get to the airport. When I land in friendly territory, you get your hostages back. Understood officer friendly?"

He waited a few minutes, almost wishing they'd put up a fight, not be herded like sheep, but then... this way he definately gets to work here again sometime.

The Chairman Major himself passes on personal greetings to you, Chief. We have received the good news about your tracking of the spyplane, and are pleased that you can handle the situation. However, the gentlemen here in the Inner Party are not so pleased with your handling of this hostage situation we have here. You must understand that we, unlike you, are not a democratic country. We are a dictatorship, and our iron fist brings iron justice. We must impliment this sort of iron justice in all situations, especially ones of our national security. Understand this: your insignificant hostages will be kept alive if possible, but at the first sign that the assassin will ultimatly gain the upper hand, we have the means to...take care of the situation. With or without your help.

"With 2 of our Mirage 2100's, as they have Chameleon skins and are Stealth, he cannot see us but we can see him"
"great Idea, OK, ready those, I'll get a nice aircraft for him." *Laughs mean*

"This is Marseille 1 to HQ, Aircraft arranged, we did some job to the fuel meter, he just got enough fuel to crash down in sea, but he thinks that the Tank is Fuel"
"If he can fly, he immediately sees that he got no fuel"
"Not true. our VLIA people messed with the fuelmeter, but noone can ever see that. Marseille 1 out."

We are pleased to hear that the plane situation seems to be under control. remember, however, that the plane is just serving as an object for the signal to bounce off. We need to find the actual source. The three units I sent down to the actual hostage area have told me the situation is worsening. I believe this needs to be our first priority.

Renault smiled at the sound of the chopper. He picked up the phone and smiled into it "Thank who ever authorised this negotiation, since you show so much faith in me, I think I'll let a third of the hostages go. Would eight children be a start, and an elderly couple, they will work quite nicely. I will return most of the remaining guest I am currently entertaining when I am prepared to take off, but for now, I think we will go."
Renault herded the children toward the door, followed by the terrified seniors. He then surrounded himself with hostages and walked out the back door, walking tall, confident in his new disguise. They loaded into the plane and he started the motor.

Once at the tarmac, Renault forced the hostages to check the plane for bombs, low fuel levels and the like, hiding his instrutions well, so that it would be difficult to identify him as the assassin. He borrowed a cell and called one last time. "Very good, everything seems in working order. I will now let sixteen more prisoners go, and the rest will join me on our journey out of your lands."

A horde of terrified citizens poured toward the waiting arms of the police. The plane jaggedly bounced down the runway and took off in a very amaturish way. Once it achieved 650 meters, it leveled off and putted toward the water where if climbed to 3000 m and proceded to cruise as fast as it's single engine could carry it.

Renault sat in a small waiting room reading a travel magazine, he had walked right out, and now was almost sure that he was free. All he had to do was wait a few hours, change idenities once again, and buy a ticket on a commercial flight. He smiled at the rememberance of the police herding him into an ambulance with three other hostages, each of whom had a relative onboard his flight, and thus were totally in his control.
His smile faded a little when he remembered the officer in charge. He was smart, Renault wondered how he had planned to take the assassin, surely he had never let Renault fly out on his own.
It didn't matter now, now he had to lie low for a while, until the heat died down and he could finish the job. Next time, he'd make sure they knew who did it.

Transmission to all Van Luxemburg Units from General O'Brien

We have very bad news, Chief. We have special sources underground in many other regions, and some of them just picked up intelligence on an organization in the Holy Empire of the Chosen Exalted, a theocracy near City 69. It would appear that the assassin is likely part of this organization, which is much larger than expected. In any case, Chief, you said the hostages were doing fine? Has the assassin contacted you?

(OOC: I'm getting a little P*ssed *ff here, my post has been lost! anyway, I said that probably my posts will be not as frequent as before, but in about 1.5 weeks, I will get vacation.

Yes, we've had contact with our target, we have let him go, but he will walk in any of our Death Traps as he can't get off the Island. you have our full backing in defeating this so-called "Theocracy".




-Marseille Intl. Airport, 1200 hours-

"Bonjour, we have a message to all travellers. On Order of the ministry of Justice, all Flights have been cancelled, and all airplanes are asked to stay on the ground whatever it takes. this because of the hunt after the Assassin. We thank you for your understanding"

Almost right after the message, a man walked towards the Blocked doors, the entry to the free world.
"Sorry sir, you may not leave the building. but have you seen this man?"
The Marine showed a picture of the Assassin, who looked the same like the man. As soon the man saw the picture of him, he started to run.
"Patrol Tango to HQ, we have a Possible suspect moving to gate 12, I repeat:
we have a Possible suspect moving to gate 12. Support requested, Patrol Tango out."
2 of the 4 guards at the door chased the Assassin, running toward gate 12, the Gate with a Cessna Citation docked to it. the Two guards blocking the entry, both member of counterterrorism forces, aimed their standard issue Heckler & Koch MP-7's. The Marines did the same with their FAMAS FELIN assault rifles.
"You are surrounded! surrender of Die!"
from different angles Marines, Police officers, Counterterrorism operatives and Customs came running to surround the assassin even further.

Renault grimaced. They had caught on... he wasn't sure how, but it didn't matter now. He raised his hands slowly and got down on his knees, doing exactly as the officers instruct him. The cuffs ripped the skin and they helped him up and toward the door. Toward the free world, and the prisons that lie within.

"Patrol Tango to Patrol Foxtrot: We Got him!"
"Great news, now, where should we get him to?"
"I was thinking of our Underwater prison"
"great Idea, He will not even think of escaping when he's there!"

A convoy existing of an Eagle IV 4x4 Jeep (OOC: It's similar to an Humvee, but better, and it's got a remote-controlled machine gun on it's roof), An AMX VBL with 30mm cannon, A Prison van, A Porsche Cayenne police car and a Koenigsegg police car drove at highspeed towards the Harbour, from where the coastguard would take over the Assassin.

-10 minutes later-

A coastguard ship was ready to take the assassin aboard. next to it where two stealth Patrol Frigates and two stealth Destroyers of the Van Luxemburg navy. they left as soon the assassin and it's guards were aboard. the journey to the underwater prison wasn't long, and the Ships were there in 20 minutes at 30+ knots.
as They arrived, a Submarine was waiting to take the Assassin aboard.
from here on, the Submarine could be followed until it docked with the Prison.

Renault smiled sweetly as they walked him to his cell. "I would like to talk to my lawyer please." He wandered around the cell, getting used to his new home. The metal bed, corners rounded to avoid suicide, the small table, bolted to the ground, the smooth walls and ceiling. No real means of escape except through the door he entered by, and the guards looked a little too alert for that... He'd have to wait for a while, he hoped this nation had heard of due process...

"A Lawyer? normally it isn't normal for persons that are Enemies of The State, treated the same as POW's. I will ask it.
