Earlier today, it was confirmed by the government that State prospectors had uncovered large quantities of Uranium within the borders of this nation.
Northern Chrisstan has been found to contain large deposits of Uranium, geographically collected within the same fifty square miles that allows for ease of extraction.
President Somersby made a speech announcing that this would be of great benefit to the nation;
“In combination with our large Iron ore deposits, this will allow our economy to expand in ways that we had previously only dreamed of.”
“I am announcing a new government corporation, the Chrisstan National Uranium Corporation, which will take control of all Uranium extraction, storage, and usage.”
President Somersby also announced legislation to expand the national economy through militarization;
“Our supply situation is dire. We must protect ourselves by allowing our logistics to supply our Armed Forces in prolonged periods of wartime. Thus, I am announcing massive investment in ammunition and equipment manufacturing industries to ensure that our Armed Forces will have the logistics and supplies that the need. This will be combined with increased investment and purchase of new military equipment to ensure our Armed Forces can respond to any threat in any situation.”
Earlier today, the National Assembly unanimously passed an Act of Assembly stating that the President could draft any amount of the population into the Armed Forces for any period of time.
