It had been many years sence the end of the Clan Kor Wars. This valuable time had been exploited by the Korgarein people. They stayed in the shadows of the Universe deep in unexplored regions of space, slowly rebuilding their once glorious fleets and armies. They monitored the other Empires throughout the Universe, waiting, and learning. Times of peace have made the warrior people of Korgarein grow board, agitated and hungy for action. The government of the Federal Imperial Korgarein Government decided that the time had come to make their selves known to all. Their Fleets were greater then ever and the armies of the Korgarein Imperial Marines where at full capacity. It was time for them to gather allies and become a force in the politics of the Universe.

A page went to the door of the Vice Chancellar.

"Sir, It is time."

The Vice Chancellar turned on the light in his room and scuffled around.

"Alright, Alright, give me a minute!" the chancellar yelled.

The Vice Chancellar got ready and looked over his speach. It was time for the universe to be introduced to the Korgarein people and it was his job to do this.
The Vice Chancellar left his room and walked down the hall torwards the main Council chambers. In the hall directly infront of the Chambers he was joined by the members of the Tribunal High Council as well as some members of the Korgarein senate.


Inside the High Council Chambers


Two massive doors openend and the lights of the hallway shined in. As a man walked in the lights turned on giving a blueish glow to the round room. At the far end oppisite the main doors was a holographic projection of different sectors, and systems of the Universe. On either side were raised platform like desks where the senators would set. The man entered the room, he was wearing a black officers uniform trimmed in dark red. He moved to the center of the room and stood on circular slightly elevated platform with the Korgarein Federal Imperial logo on it. The other men and women with him entered the room and walked up stairs rapping around the wall up to the senate seting area. When the commotion was calmed down the man spoke.

"It is time my fellow Korgareins"

The Platform the man stood on begain to glow as the holorecorders activated.

"I am Vice Chancellar Dridar Strener of House Strener, Representative of the Federal Empire of Koragaein. We have chosen this day and time to announce our presents to other Empire. We are transmitting today to inform others that we are now looking for allies in our explorations and expansions as well as trading. We have build Ten Embassies in the cities surrounding the Capital City of Zalintin, here on our Clan Faction Homeworld of Korgara. This is a peacefull diplomatic message. Those who have other plans can and will be delt with. Those who wish to form alliances can transmit a message to the Korgarein Diplomatic Corps. Once Alliances are formed we can arrange for Diplomatic exchanges of Embassies and Ambassadors."

The Holovid ended, Now all that could be done is to wait. Wait and see, see how the other Empires and Republics would take to the news of a new political power in the Universe. The days ahead would be long and stressing for the Korgarein Diplomatic Corps. We all hope they are up to it. This would be the first political alliances to be formed sence befor the Clan Kor Wars.

As a token of goodwill, we are prepared to send two Imperator-II class Star Destroyers to your system as a gift. Should you accept, they will be fitted with the highest class Intelligence Protocol programs to ensure that they arrive on time. The Prime Minister of Nirs had reviewed the message sent by this new power in the galaxy. Altho he knew very well that he could not open any alliances or agreements with the nation until he was given permission from the Imperial Senate of the Republic(the region I'm in) to do so. But so that he did not miss the chance to possible add a new ally to his dossier, he called in his friend, Alex McDarmid, head diplomat to Nirs.

Alex was a caucasian man of medium high, with dark brown hair and green eyes. He had a medium build and wore a navy blue linen suit.

"Yes, Cory?" he said as he entered the Prime Ministers room, disregarding protocal since he and the Prime Minister were childhood friends.

"Hello, Alex. Sorry to have disturbed you, but an issue has come up; listen to this." Cory played the message to Alex who nodded when it was over, "I want you to go to this planet and try and get us in good esteem with these peoples. Don't propose anything official yet, tho, as that's the laws of the Republic. But get us in good standing with the people."

"Sure. Just transmit the coordinates to my ship and I'll be on my way."

An hour later

After gathering his crew and readying his ship, Alex was on his way to the new system. He left the space port and after getting a safe distance away from the planet, jumped into hyperspace.

After arriving in the new system, a transmission was sent to the planet:

This is diplomatic ambassador Alex McDarmid from the nation of Nirs. Requesting permission for my ship to enter orbit and for me to come down to the surface with a small escort. Please acknoledge.

Now the waiting game would ensure.

Shortly after the Nirs ship entered the Korgarein Home System it was intercepted by the Korgarein Titan class Fleet Carrier Yonix.

This is Admerial Darious of the Yonix, We have just recieved your message. Korgarein Fleet Command has authorized us to escort you to the Star Base Draconious Primary 1 in orbit of Korgara. From there you will meet with the Korgarein Diplomatic Corps. For future reference and for your own safety, you may want to transmit a message to the Security Commission of the Korgarein Empire to prevent the Korgarein defence grid from fireing on you vessel when it enters our territory.

Now follow us and we will take you to the station."

The vessel followed it's escorts towards the platform and docked.

Our wonderful embassies have been completed. Simply announce any guards and whatever weapons your ambassadors or guards will have and they will be allowed into the compound. No tanks, helicopters, or other vehicles not of Tannenmille's will be allowed into Embassy Row Drive, so transportation is being provided for you. Your transportation will be a black Mercedes with the Tannenmillian flag and Korgareinian flag upon the fenders.

Nirs:

The Diplomatic envoy from Nirs was met by an ambassador from the Korgarein Empire. The Ambassador lead them to a group of guest quarters reserved for diplomatic guests. The Nirs people could stay here and continue to talk to korgarein diplomats as they needed. They would have access to any food and drink as well as limited access to Korgarein informational databanks(think of them as a tourists guide type records).

Agreed. Your transport is to land in Alate, the capital of Krondle. From there transportation will be arranged. Our ambassador to Korgarein is Rubin Broglie. Broglie and his staff of 50 will be accompanied by an armed guard numbering 45. Each guard will carry a Epel'jaken "Razor" series MX Heavy Blaster Pistol, a vibrosword, and a BlasTech A280 Blaster Rifle. They will be arriving in the traditional grey-green Lamda-class T-4a Shuttle of the Tannenian Ambassadorship.

One of the primary points of any indepedent nation will always be the concern of allies and as such, alliances that allow for the condition of mutual defence to be met. As such, given we have heard nothing disturbing about the internal affairs of your nation, The Xenonian Protectorate would like to offer the terms of an .... alliance, for now. Alex and the rest of the crew and guards of the ship thanked the ambassador and took to their new lodgings. They would remain there until word was sent with further instructions and would frequently meet with the Korgarein government to make the nation a friendly and possible ally to Nirs and the Republic. But again, nothing official could happen until a vote was taken by the Imperial Senate of the Republic.

Perhaps we have been misunderstood, this would not be surprising. What we mean by unusual requests is merely that we have no need for either an embassy, nor diplomatic staff. One ambassador will be more than enough to process our requests, with no need for guards, equipment or lodgings. To place guards, would be placing a dangerous amount of military firepower on your own soil - something you would not appriecate until ties are strengthened.

It would be best if this was explained to your people in greater detail, away from the prying eyes of outsiders. We shall have to arrange a meeting to explain this in greater detail, as doubtless you will have questions.

The Miak merely appeared, seemingly from nowhere, arriving at the coodinates to the exact letter. The Kilometer and a half long vessell merely stayed were it was and waited for the welcome party to arrive

With its escort mission complete, the Titan Fleet Carrier Yonix took the Diplomatic Envoy to Meso Ven Prime. Due to the size of Korgarein Titan class Fleet Carriers the Yonix was chosen to represent the Korgarein military power during the peace talks to come with many nations over the comeing days, months, or years. With the coordinates precalculated the jump took mear minutes.

- Orbit of Meso Ven Prime -

A blueish-green distortion opened in the void of space. With a flash of light the nearly 2.8 kilometer Fleet Carrier Yonix appeared. It quickly begain activly scaning the Miak. The Korgarein Military commanders were concerned about the tactical abilities of their possible new allies.

"We have the Ambassador aboard and are prepaired the to transport them to the outpost. You are authorized to do the same."

Ambassador Fedixin was translocated to just outside the main command station of the outpost on the planet. The Outpost's long range sensors and scanners where fully active, there job was to watch the perimiter of Korgarein space.

The commander of the Miak, Kaptain Hergiv, merely blinked at the scannnig attempts by the newcomers to space. All they would see were power readings of the scale and gibberish they could not possibly hope to understand - wrtiten in the Xenonian language, of course.

Flicking through available channels, he responded immediately.

"We can do this immediately. Please state the mode of transport you would prefer us to use"

~ Transmission to Miak ~

"We use a matter translocation technology, you may use a simular technology, or you may use a shuttle of some kind, we have bays where you could land. Transporter coordinates are "( Insert Generic Coordinates )", and landing craft bay is "( Insert Generic Coordinates )". If you wish we can teleport your ambassador down."

The responce was as immediate as ever, the confirmation of the transport completed in less than a second. The call of "It is done" rang throughout space.

- OutPost, Meso Ven Prime -

Fedixin the Korgarein Ambassador was waiting for the the Xenonian Deligate when he arrived. Fedixin led him , followed by two heaviely armed and armored guards, down a long cooridoor to a briefing room. As they entered the lights automaticly came on and the gaurds took positions outside the doors. The room was about fourty meters in diameter with a large rectangular wooden table with large backed chairs on the two longest sides and a holographic display at the end farthest from the entrance.

Fedixin explained,
"This is a secure area, far from the prying eyes and ears of other Nations. You may feel free to explain your unique nation to me, Keeping in mind i will be recording this for the High Council to review."

Ambassador Fedixin sat down and invided the Xenonian Ambassador to do the same. He was very interested in what the Ambassador had to tell him.

"Yes, thank you Cory, I'll call for a meeting immeadiatly and will report back when I'm done. Right, see you later." Alex said as he shut off his communicator, in which he was talking to the Prime Minister of Nirs.

He then got up from his chair and walked over to the bathroom. He took a shower and adorned himself in a black linen suit, with a white wool shirt and a black silk tie. He combed back his hair and looked at himself in the mirror. He then headed out of the room and down the hall to meet with the leaders of Korgarein, or to set up an appointment to meet with them.

The Imperium is interested by your race, and wishes to dispatch a diplomatic envoy to meet with you. With your permission, a Cleanser class Diplomatic Warship shall be dispatched, to arrive at coordinates within 2 days. We look forward to engaging your race in diplomatic and economic relations.

Korgarein guards that had been watching and protecting the Nirs Deligates escorted the Nirs Deligate down the hallway into a station transit unit (elevator, turbo shaft). They proceeded very quickly to a secure area where they found several members of the Korgarein Diplomatic Corps setting around a large round table. The senior officer looked up and said,

"It is good to see you, we have been waiting for you today... please, please set down and we can begain."

"Thank you!" replied Alex cheerfully, as a grin spread on his face. He took a seat opposite of the diplomats and put his hands together on the table.

"Now, to start, I would like to inform you that I have been given permission to discuss diplomatic matters on behalf of the Republic(my region). Therefore I would like to discuss the basics of trade agreements, and possible mutual protection packs, as well as right of passage agreements if the discussion goes that way. Do you have any suggestions about trade?"

(( Nirs ))

The senior Diplomatic Officer stared at the man befor him for a moment, then said;

"Trade agreements, well, what do we have to offer? Well, we manufacture large amounts of weapons both small arms and ship based, minerals both radioactive and normal. We also have ships and ship based technologies. The Korgarein Federal Empire like all the Kor Clan Factions have extensive knowledge of genetic manipulation and enhancement. We are also planing several new technologies that are in the design and testing phase that i can not mention at this point. But of these things, I am not sure what your "Republic" would be interrested in."

One of the other men turned to the Nirs Deligate to speek.

"Mutual protection packs, We the Korgarein people, pride ourselves as warriors. War is all we have known most of our lives. The Clan Kor wars between the Factions of Clan Kor have left us weary and distrustfull of depending on others for help in defence. What would your "Mutual protection packs" as you call them mean for us and you?"

Another man took up where the other left off.

"And this "right of passage agreements" you speek of, what are they?

The senior officer looks at the rest of his men and speaks.

"Calm down boys.. Calm down.. Let him answer your questions one at a time." He looks back at the Nirs Deligate. "You will have to excuse my comrades, These men have hard times finding themselves as peacefull Ambassadors. There last jobs were as Commanders of armies, fighting great battles. Now, if you do not mind, back to our questions."

"Well," said Alex, rather surprised at the other men, "The Republic would be interested in any luxuries you would have that we do not have. Such as exotic foods, materials, things like that.

A mutual protection pack, in lamens terms, says that each faction agrees to aid the other if they are attacked and if aid is requested. A right of passage agreement states that military forces can pass through freely in the others territory to get places faster instead of having to take detours around eachs territory to get somewhere."

"Well, we can look and see if there are things you might be interrested in, however as you have noticed most of our resources are militarily based. But we might be able to find some things for you. As for mutual protrection, we would be willing to help you in time of need, however, we could not violate any other agreements with other nations that we might have or make. We value our honor as warriors. The right of passage could be a problem, but not impossable, we have extenssive defence grids designed to help protect from possible attack. For us to agree to something like this, we would need notification befor your ships enter our space. You see our security is very strick, it is what keeps our people safe from others as well as ourselves. While we control the majority of the Kor Clan Factions peacefully for some time now, it is feared that some day the wars might start up again. These are the reasons for use to have strick security measures, not only for our protection, but for allies and posible allies like yourselves. But do not get us wrong, we look forward to a peacefull exchange with you and your regional alliance."

The ambassador, none other than Charles Dreyfuss himself, merely smiled at the show. High councils, federations, it was all so terribly boring, in the classic "been there done that" style.

Moving swiftly, he began.

"Excellent ambassador, then we are on even terms, although my people will know of the consequences sooner. As of right now, millions of people can see you, hear you and essentially, acess what I am expieriencing, at this exact moment in time. The wonder of particle entanglement dear sir. Smile, you're on camera"

Fedixin could see the feelings of superiority that the Xenonier Ambassador Charles Dreyfuss displayed so openly. It was obvious that Mr. Dreyfuss had seen and done this many of times befor. It was of no importance to Fedixin, he swallowed his warriors pride, as hard as that is to do sometimes, and continued with this meeting. He believed that if the Xenonier people were in fact that superior, they wouldn't care to meet with a "back water Space Empire" so to speak, but it was of no matter, they were here and that is what is important.

"I see, particle entanglement, does this allow your people to function as one mind or just linked together like some kind of massive network?"

The anthromoprhic ambassador was pleased. This ambassador displayed the intellect and knowledge that made for an interesting diplomatic exchange. Dropping the charade of superiority, Charles sat down and looked the ambassdor in the eyes, his own wolf eyes matching those of his equal.

"Now, excellent. You have the ability and the talent. Let us hope there are more like you. Warriors that know when to fight, when to run and when to talk. Very good. Now, onto questions, questions yes. You would have them, I am foolish to forget. I am neither familar nor comfortable with arrogance. Still, I am an ambassador, I chose this job, I must use every facet of this task I willingly chose, or I would be wasting my time and my ability.

It is essentially a communications network. To enslave the minds of Xenonian citizens when they are born with the capability of sentient thought is anathema to our nature. The protectorate is generally open in this manner. Anyone can join, or be welcomed, so long as you do not interfere with the rights of others."

Adopting a thoughtful demanour in both tone and body language, he continued.

"As you can see, I am an anthromorph. There are more aliens in the protectorate, humans, many species, many species. Now, ask any questions you wish. There may be some I cannot answer, but I doubt it."

Fedixin was pleased to see that his thoughts and instincts were true. Perhaps this would be a valuable meeting for both parties involved.

"Yes.. questions, it is important to know thy enemy, and yet more important to know thy friends. You say that sentient thought is taboo or banned in you nation yes no? Why do you wish to enslave the minds of your people? For Control? We value the indepentant thoughts of our people, our warriors in combat. We are not surprised about the anthromorphic apperance that you and some of your people have. Charles couldn't help but lift an eyebrow at this.

"I was under the impression I said we do not enslave the minds, that to take away the right to sentient thought when people are born with it is anathema to our nature, using this as anythign ohter than a communications network would be the taboo in our society. I would be contradicting my later statements of the only major rules in our society being that you may not deny someones own rights."

"Now, onto the designation of fleets. The ship that entered your region of space is the 7th fleet, of ten. Three of those fleets are under construction - we believe they will be ready in several years or so. Tuning the trillions of components the like is a difficult process. Quality of quantity has always been a Xenonian staple - we take this to extremes in everything we do, I suppose. Military, navy, Air domination, etcetera."

"Now, from this alliance, we primarily seek to gain one thing. Defensive guarantees. THe terms will be better explained later, I suppose."

"You know we have extensive ship contruction yards. It might be possible for our ship yards to supliment your own. We could greatly encrease your production, well that is if you would be interested. And you would of course have to show us your technique and designs which we would understand that you might have a problem with that situation."

"As for the Alliance, Defencive guarantees, in the way of us assisting you in your nations defence or guarantees that we will not attack you?"

Drey merely looked unassuming.

"Ship construction facilities themselves are not the issue, sadly. Xenonian ships use several technologies that few other nations possess, such as highly modified temporal technology. This is calibrated and further researched using methods that essentially leave our ships with trillions of moving parts. That miak has more than you can possibly imagine. The problem lies not so much in the facilities to build one, but the time taken.

Such a ship would be an excessive drain on your economy, essentially because these ships are built from the ground up. You could however, take the design techniques, design your own ships and build your own vessells. That could however, take many years - perhaps even generations, depending on the length of your lives, to learn such a craft. It could be done, however."

Fedixin listened intently to what Charles had to tell him.

"I see, Temporal technology. We have had some limited experience with such technology. However it was seen that we value the misstakes we have made in our past, if it were not for those mistakes we might not have learned many valuable lessons. While there are other reasons temporal technology could be usefull we chose not to persue such ventures.

As far as your vessels are concerned we would be willing to help you attempt to find faster ways of production while maintaining quality. That is of course if you would be willing to allow us access to your technology, we understand fully if your government would dissagree with such and idea. We ourselves are working on a long project to build a new style vessel for every class in our fleet and are currently developing the technologies that will be used in these new ships.

Length of our lives? Yes, our lives. With many generations of genetic manipulation over many centuries we have managed to add much to our life spans amoung other things. If it is not due to war time in the past many of our people live several hundred years.

At this, Drey could only think.

"To be honest, we don't actually know. Most Xenonians are around 100 years old, with the capacity to live for far longer. We could live forever - the issue is we don't actually know how long we live, although our ancestors were said to live for thousands. We do however, believe we have improved on that - of course, only time will tell."

"As for the construction of our ships, I cannot honestly say. It may take some time, but as I mentioned, nothing is impossible. It could be done, although achieveing it will be difficult."

"Yes, you are right about that, only time. Well now, pardon me for being blunt and to the point but, as for this alliance. You mentioned Defensive guarantees?"

Alex looked at the men in front of him, "Well that's perfectly understandable. We in the Republic have very complex security features also. But by agreeing to a right of passage, it just means you must check in with border security before proceeding. It will work out.

As for the mutual protection and the trade agreements, those are perfectly acceptable. We would like your assistance in times of need as you probable will want ours. As for trade, in exchange for your items, I'm sure we could provide you with materials that could be useful to you. We can't promise you any official items, as we are capitalist nations mostly, therefore the trade will be privatised; but we will be able to provide you with many items of value."

Befor the Korgarein Diplomatic Officers could say anything a man walked into the room fallowed by a guard. The man spoke.

"Sirs, I must speak with you for a moment."

"Very well. Would you excuse me for a second please."

The Senior Officer walked outside the comfrence room. The Nirs Ambassador could hear the men talking but was unable to hear what they were saying. A few minutes past and you could hear the sound of one of the men walking down the hallway, the foot steps slowly fading. The Officer walked back into the room and began to speak softly with the other members of the Diplomatic Corps in a small huddle. The senior Officer set back down in his high backed chair acn turned back towards the Nirs Ambassador.

"Well Sir, At this time we are pleased with the current arrangements with your nation and the Republic. However, a matter has come to our attention that concerns us deeply. We have recieved news that the Republic in which you represent has mobilized forces against other nations not of the Republic. You must understand that before we agree to any alliance, we must understand the perpose for this conflicted. And as it is, would we be obligated to assist the Republic at this point if we agreed to an alliance with the Republic."

It was at this point, Charles would have to ask questions of his own.

"To add some context to this discussion" He began

"Have your people, in any way shape or form, ecnountered foes with psionic abilities? It would be essentially if we began the discussion here, merely to investigate if you have ever dealt with such opponents"

Fedixin leaned back into his seet and begain to speak, talking was something he loved to do. That might be one reason the KDC made him an Ambassador.

"Psionic Abilities? No we have not 'dealt' with them. However, we have observed a hand full of nations that seem to possess Psionic trates and abilities. But if there is one thing Korgareins do well is adapt.

We have had a few subjects a few centuries ago, when we preformed genetic experiments, befor some laws were passed, they seemed to develop massive mental abilities. Some of these subjects, I guess you might have said some of them might have been classified as possessing Psionic trates. But they were incredibly unstable, most were killed. I think one or two of them might still be alive. While we have laws against certain kinds of genetic manipulation, there are no laws concerning those who were experimented on befor the laws were passed. Many of these people are still under medical care and study. I believe that some of the more stable subjects were allowed to leave the care of doctors and have families. Reports state that there have been little genetic restructuring to their children needed.

Well now, I am rambleing now. Why do you ask? Im guessing your people possess such qualities?"

Drey was most pleased with this development. It gave him something invaluable in a diplomatic discussion. It gave him leverage.

"As a matter of fact, we do have these powers. Futhermore, we have defeated races using these powers with hostile intent. Judging by your comments, your people have not. We can begin offers our abilities in that area. One of the first points of reference would be the tyraelian incident, although that has some highly classified files that cannot be revealed to any but allies who we can trust, which would be shown to you later. Nevertheless, the rest of the data can be presented."

Fedixin leaned forward on the table and put his one hand up to his face resting his head on his hand with his elbo on the table. He was somewhat interested in these ablities.

"I could see us wishing to learn some about these abilities. Our people are strong willed and have disciplined minds. I dont think it would be hard for our people to develope. I would think that our government would prefer to learn more about defence against such abilities. It seems that from your comments your people would be the ones best suited to teach us these things.

Is there anything particular that you are wishing in return for this kind of information?"

While the diplomat had left the room to talk with the man, Alex recieved a message on his com link. When the man returned, he replied to the diplomats

"I must report that, unfortunatly, matters within the Republic have erupted into a civil war. Our previous campaigns against the other nations that you speak off has been cancelled. We have recalled all of our forces to deal with the new internal threat. Aid is not requested at this time, but if matters escalate, we would appreaciate it.

Well, I think that concludes our business. I'll take my leave now. Would it be alright if I stayed on the planet for another week before leaving?"

The officers listened intently to what the Nirs Ambassador had to say about the Republic.

"Well, we see, isnt this an interesting turn of events. Very well you may stay. And we will ally ourselves with the Republic for now. It is hoped that our intervention will not be needed, but if it is we shall see what happens."

The discussion was coming to a close, or at least this end of it. Xenonier had leverage, Dreyfuss had completed this goal, the mission was almost complete.

"Honestly, We don't know as yet. Xenonian people have been known to give away these services free of charge, to call debts in years later, to do a myraid of things in this situation. Given that many psychic enemies are a danger to us all, it is in reality in the best intrests of our people to ensure no one is ever caught unprepared by them"

Fedixin leaned back in his chair yet again. He stared at Dreyfuss for a few moments then leaned forward to speak.

"Well... while we agree that many nations seek to use these abilities for less then good perposes and others must be prepaired for them, not just for themselves but for others as well, Favors? Debts? These are things that the Korgarein people do not like. It is one thing to sell, buy, or trade, but to owe someone something. Particularly a nother nation, is an entirely different situation all together."

It was evident to Charles that this Korgarein's warrior pride might be taking over. He could see that he might be loosing his once powerfull leverage. It might have seemed very foolish to Dreyfuss but, it is a strong factor in Korgarein society and a hard habbit to break. In fact, Dreyfuss might be surprised it took this long.

"Its not to say something can not be worked out mind you, but... but, we just have hard times oweing anything to anyone."

Of course, Drey was nonchalant. The miak hovering above was more than enough firepower to make a "forceful" escape if nessecary and he was more than capable of carving his way to safety.

"As I said, I really have no idea if you will ever owe us anything at all. It is likely you shall not, should circumstances go the way they normally do. If we ever call in a favour, it is merely a payment for a debt. Whether your society is introverted or not, Xenonier is always open to relationships. There are many races you could contact that would inform you of our sincereity. Futhermore, no matter the pride you may have, one must always remember there is a bigger fish and friends are always welcome."

The ships dropped out of hyperspace just Admiral Brent Busse strolled onto the bridge.

"Report!" he barked

"Sir! We will arrive at Korgarein's home planet in approximately ten minuets sir.” Replied the navigation officer.

“Very well, hail Korgarein.” Admiral Brent Busse cleared his throat. “Tell them we’re on our way on behalf of the Empire of Ghensia to establish diplomatic relations between our to great peoples.”

"Sir!" announced the communications officer, "Korgarein forces have asked us to proceed to docking ring 4, dock 12 to under go meet with their representative.”

Admiral Busse took it upon himself to lead the first contact team. After going through the security checks and being led to the meeting room, he introduced himself to the man he assumed to be his Korgarein counterpart.

“Let me introduce myself.” Brent began, “My name is Admiral Brent Busse, though you can call me Brent if you wish, and I led Ghensia’s exploration fleet. I would like to apologize if we startled you by entering your system without warning. We’ve been having some communication problems as of late. I’m sorry if it caused you any undo stress. And as the first Ghensian who has meet someone not of our own kind in several thousand years, I say I am very pleased to meet you."

The man stood befor the Ghensian deligate, Admiral Brent Busse with a few men behind him. He was wearing a long black officers dress uniform with dark red trim. He also had on a officers, red black with red trim as well. He stepped forward, took off his hat and placed it between his arm and side. He put forth his other hand to take the hand of the Admiral in a show of friendship and begain to introduce himself.

"Hello, My name is Ussin Gelben. I will be the Senior Diplomatic Officer during this encounter." After shaking Brents hand he waved his hand back at his other officers. "These are my assistants, They will be observing our meeting and advising me."

Walking back torward a large table, Ussin said.

"Would you like to be seeted, and we can get started."

Ussin walked to one side of the table and set down with the rest of his men. After the Ghensain men sat down Ussin begain to speak.

"Well now, how may we help you?"

Brent took a seat. "Well now, where to begin. Several years ago, the people of Ghensia began to realize that if we were to remain a modern and strong nation, we would need outside help or at least, contact with the rest of the universe in general. So I was sent out along with my ship to contact other nations of behalf of Ghensia and to make contact with them."

Brent smiled broadly.

"So my associates and I are here to learn about your culture and people, and to attempt to forge an alliance with your great nation on terms that are suitable to both of us."

We are lead by a Emperor and a senate. Thats about it I guess."

The EMU slowly progressed towards it's destination, like all vessels produced before the Fall it was fitted with the Mk.IV hyperspace generator and thus a bit slower than other ships.
The pilot checked the jump data, the rendevouz point was close now. He turned off the hyperspace drift and changed to the standard sublight engines, while turning on the HailSys to make contact with anyone near.
Blood-claw, for that was his name, felt small drops of sweat run down his forehead, after all this was his first mission as an exploration officer.
He watched the monitor displaying the cargo bay, inside was the small six-legged walker that contained both the holographic projector and the secure link to the Chief of the Diplomatic Corps.
Blood-claw engaged the auto-pilot and headed for the dressing room. He took of his black flight suit and donned the gray uniform with red stripes, black boots and grey hat that identified him as a temporary representant of Relative Liberty.

Then the officer set back in his seet.

The EMU positioned itself behind the Korgareinian destroyer and activated it's rear thrusters, keeping them on a steady 34% effectivity.

"I do not see a problem with it. We as well as other factions of Clan Kor, now under Korgarein Control, have been working with genetic manipulation for centuries. What started as a way to make better soldiers, is now proving to help make better lives for all Korgarein citizens. We seek to eleminate the genetic strands that cause certain birth defects, diseases as well as other abnormallities. I do not see why we should not share this technology for the benefit of others, for the right price that is."

The Langly matched the speed of the Liberty vessel as so not to out pase them.

The two ships enter the Korgarein home system and head to Draconious Primary 1. The Langly instrucks the other vessel to dock at Docking Ring 12, Docking port 12. The Captain told them they would have to undergo security cheaks as reported to them befor. After that they would be taken to Diplomatic State rooms where they could rest and wait for the Diplomatic Meeting the next day.

Brent's smile widened even more.

"I'm sure my government can accommodate your price. In exchange, we are willing to offer some of our cloning technology if you wish. I am also authorized to offer you and your government an embassy exchange on the home planet of Ghensia if you wish."

The small vessel docks in Docking Ring 12, and Blood-claw unlocked the portside hatch as well as the door to the cargo bay where the droid was kept.
Blood-claw rose and saluted the officers and troops that entered through the small hatch to search his vessel of anything that could be dangerous. After the inspection the soldiers escorted Blood-claw and the droid to a small room where they would rest.

"An Embassy exchange would be wonderfull, it will allow us to continue trade nagotiations far into the future.

As for cloneing technology, we appreciate you offer, but our intentions are not to create more of ourselves but just to make the people we have healthy and stronger. Our Genetic manipulation technology is very complicated, we can offer a couple of our opperators to you to instructed your people on its use. As for our price, to purchase the technology rights to produce is rather expensive, I am not sure your growing nation could afford it. We could however make a deal. If you would be willing, we would sell you several units for a cheaper price, for this you would give us any research and developements you come up with useing the technology. Then at some point you could have the production rights allowing you to mass produce the technology. Would your people accept this, or can you present a counter offer?"

After a night of rest and relaxation with some good hot food and drink, the Relative Liberty crewman Blood-claw was lead down the hallway and put into a Transit Unit (elevator, turbo shaft). The the transit unit doors opened, he was met by two more guards that escorted him down another hallway to a large set of doors. As the doors opened Blood-Claw walked in to the room. It was round with a large table in the center with highbacked chairs on either side of it. On the right side a Korgarein Officer stood with several men on either side.

"Welcome on behalf of the Korgarein Diplomatic Corps and the Korgarein People. Would you please have a seet, then we can begin?"

"Those are quite generous terms and we accept whole heartily. How much would this cost exactly?"

The pilot, still clad in the unfiorm that identified him as a temporary diplomatic representant, sat down. The small six legged droid jumped up into his lap and switched itself off, it services was not needed at the moment.
''I am Blood-Claw of the Relative Liberty Spacefleet 128th Diplomatic Brigade Exploration and Mapping Unit 7. I have been granted temporary and limited diplomatic authority to present to you this droid which carriesan encrypted HailSys program with which you can contact a high ranking officer within the Diplomatic Corps.''
The small droid turned on and jumped up on the table. A blue cone of light, roughly two feet high, rose from a small projector on the top of it. The cone flimmered and then displayed a picture of a lion dressed in the usual uniform of the Diplomatic Corps, a grey suit and hat, black leather boots and a black belt. On his shoulder two golden stripes were seen, giving him the rank of colonel.

"Sence we are becomeing trade partners and you are going to help us advance the technology, We could more then likely sell them to you for production costs. Kore Industries of Korgara charges 5 billion USD for each unit. We would have to at least get that for them. The question is how many units you can afford. Like i said the technology is very expensive. The main reason we have so many units is that we have been working on the technology for centuries. If this is to much, we might be able to work out something else."

The Korgarein Officer looked at the holographic image befor him. I would assume i can speek to the man i see.

"I am Kuhago, the senior Korgarein represenitive in this matter. Too whom do i speek?"

''Some of our carriers models are outdated and we need the expertise to design a new model to function as Task Force Carriers. It just so happened that Kuhago was one of the commading officers of a Cruiser during the Kor Clan Wars so he knew a few things about combat vessels.

We are currently working on new designs based on new developing technologies in the Empire. I am sorry to tell you that the Korgarein Military orginations known as 7th Kore (spelling of Kore intentional) is heading up these new developments and they tend to keep things to them selve till long after they are built. It was nearly 30 years befor they released the Titan Fleet Carrier to the Stanadard Korgaein Fleet.

As for specialized defence systems, while some of our ships have them. Most defenceive weapons are made up of the Standard issue Light and Medium Model Gravimetric Cannons, the same used against heavier targets like other capital ships. While the Heavy cannon turrets are too slow for use against fighters and bombers, the Medium and Light Cannon Turrets have auto-tracking and fire abilities. A Tactical Officer picks a target the ships targeting AIs use the ships scanners to estimated speed and trajectory of the target and aims the guns automaticly. We have do of course have manual back ups for the guns in case the targeting AI go offline for some reason."

ISS Shalimar - The Bridge

`We got the flight plan sir.`

`Very well, proceed. Lt. Mrome, send the proposition from our government to the Korgarein, so they have time to study and decide upon it before we meet.`

`Aye sir. Transmiting documents.`

Soon after, an encripted message was sent on a secure channel to the Korgarein government, detailing some proposals from the Calpian Government. Among the proposals, some of the most important were:
- signing of an alliance between the two nations
- signing a trade agreement
- opening borders for turists curious to visit new places
- signing a treaty regulating the exchange of information between the Rakal Mor and the Korgarein secret service
- an exchange of medical information of the two races so that medics from both nations can treat the sick of the others.

Attached to it was a message that asked the Korgareins to study the documents, and if any of the proposals were acceptable as they were or with modifications, to let the ambassador know.


Draconious Primary 1, some time later

Ambassador Jo`Brill leaned back on the chair satisfied. One thing he always enjoyed was a good meal, and he was quite happy that the korgarein food that he just devoured didnt contain any worms. `Thank Mora`, he thought,`the food is good here and i`ll enjoy my stay if the drinks are the same. Now where is that Korgarein representative i was supposed to be meeting after dinner? I`m curious if they agree with any of the proposals.`

Ah yes, the beginning of diplomatic relations with the nation of Korgarein thought Gradka Zol as he left the ship A most important day.

Two Guards showed up outside of Ambassador Jo`Brill's state room and requested that he come with them to meet with the Korgarein Diplomatic Officers. When he agreed they escorted him down the long hallway to a transportation module (elevator, turbo lift). They placed him inside and the doors closed. The Ambassador could tell that he was moving, then the feeling of a slight sudden stop. The doors opened agian and two more guards were waiting for him. They took him down another coridoor to a set of massive doors, they opened into a large round room with a large dark colored wooden table in the middle with high back chairs surrounding it. As the Ambassador enter the room he noticed several men standing waiting for him. One of them turned around and looked at him. He was wearing a black and dark red dress uniform, he took his officers hat off and placed it between himself and his arm. He extended his other arm and put his hand out and spoke.

"Good Day to you sir, I am Ambassador Ha`gar of the Korgarein Diplomatics Corps, it is an honor to meet with you. Wont you please have a seet so that we can get started."

Jo`Brill bowed slightly with his right hand to his heart and spoke:
`Tak`Mora Ambassador Ha`gar. I am Ambassador Jo`Brill of the Calpian Empire.`
With that, he sat down and waited for the korgarein to start the discussions.

As the Ambassador Jo`Brill sat down, Ha`gar begain to speak;

"Well now, as of this point we do not see any major problems with your proposals. Seeing that many of our systems are restricted we would have to give your vessels certain paths that they could take for your turists. As for Informational extange between our intellegence branches, well...."

As Ha`gar was finishing his sentence, a man walked our of the shadows from one side of the room. A man that Jo`Brill had not previously noticed. He was wearing an all black uniform, It didnt have any trim to it or any shiny extras that most military dress uniforms have. He was a pale somewhat thin man, and he wore a pair of very thin very dark tented glasses.

"I would be the one you would talk to about that." in a low tone of voice.

"I am Marshal Vel`tovolic, of the Korgarein 7th Kore. While I am sure that we both have information to hide and secrets to keep, I still believe that we could work something out."

`Marshal Vel`tovolic, pleased to meet you. Our proposal for exchange of information is reffering to matters that involve our nations in some way. For example, should we hear of an atack on a Korgarein convoy or colony, or should you hear something like that, we will inform you immediately and we would expect you to do the same. It is simply a matter of protecting the best interests of our allies. We do not expect Korgarein to share information that does not concern us, just those bits that might concern our security or our enemies. And we will do the same ofcourse. Also, some secure channels should be established between the calpian Rakal Mor and the Korgarein 7th Kore for situations like these. I am sure it could prove very beneficial for both our nations if we talked about these matters in advance.`

"Well, in that case, there are no problems with that proposal then. I believe that a secure link between our nations could be easily aranged." after that statment the Marshal stepped back from the table and Ha`gar begain to speek agian.

"You will have to excuse officers of the 7th Kore, They tend to be even more blunt and to the point then most Korgareins, and thats saying a lot mind you. 7th Kore has their own fleets and Marine corps, They tend to act as if they are better then the Military because they are able to act indepentantly of our standard Military lines. You could say they are a little stuck up. But anyway...

As for the other issues, well, there really aren't any. We can agree to proposals."

After the Zatarack ambassador finished his dinner, two more guards showed up at his door and ask him to come with them. When he agreed, they led him down the coridoor to the transit unit, were he got in. The doors shut and the transit unit took him to the diplomatic wing of the station. The doors opened and Gradka Zol stepped out into the new coridoor where he was met by two more guards. They escorted him to another set of massive doors, when he stepped in, he saw the same thing that all deligates seen. Several men standing around a table with chairs, waiting for the Ambassador. Turning around towards the Ambassador the man spoke.

"It is good to see you sir, I am Ambassador Kelnex, Of the Korgarein Diplomatics Corps. I hope you enjoyed your stay and the food, Would you care to set down so that we may begin."

"Agreed then. I will transmit to the calpian government that they can consider Korgarein allies from now on. The little details like the corridors for turists or that secure link can be discussed later."

The small EMU takes of and the sublight thrusters propel it into the dark void. A few kilometres away from the station the hyperspace generator is activated and the journey home begins.

As of June 29th 2005, due to real life issues, I will be taking an extended vacation from the NS world so Korgarein posts will become random and mostly consentrated on my own technology based research threads. I will attempt to finish any unfinished diplomatic missions if time allows. Hopfully I will have the Ground Troops page of the Korgarein Factbook and Technology Webpage done by the time I come back.
