If just one nation with a size similar to mine tries it, you won't have a chance.

Your defense budget is 0.9% of mine. If I wanted to, I could roll right into your nation and you could do nothing about it. At a 5% military percentage, you have 2,000,000 people total (logistics combined) in your armed forces. I have 1.5 million soldiers at a 1:4 logistics scale.

Your empty threats do not scare any of those who wish to topple the government of Colorado and Texas, although I am not one of them.

So he has 2 million soldiers while you have 1.5 million soldiers? Ummm...i think you should check that first..... ;)

He has 2 million people total in his entire armed forces. That includes logistics. At the same 1:4 logistics ratio, he has 400,000 soldiers.

OOC: I ruin your delusions of grandeur, but either I or Shazbotdom (being the two biggest nations involved with C&T) could conquer both you and Colorado and Texas without very much effort. For future reference, it would probably be better if you pledged Colorado and Texas your aid, but did not go so far as to threaten nations with whom he has less than amicable relations.

Even though the dude has more people than me, from the structure of his sentance I would think his battle tactics would be.... "less than threatening."
Tannenmille
02-06-2005, 01:11
That's true; numbers aren't everything. But I will agree with you that his tactics and strategies must be rather under par if he cannot construct a well-thought-out sentence.

I am fairly new (joined may 1st) and would have no difficulties crushing this poor excuse for a nation. Whatever you gain in battlefield terrain, militia or superior numbers (somehow) i would more than match with tactics, technology and allies.

It is not the wisest thing to enter this arena brandishing anything but peace and friendship...

It takes a fairly large nationwide numerical advantage to equal much on an given battlefield.

This is most certainly true. The whole idea of "quality over quantity." However, my military (3% of the population) numbers roughly 46 million, larger than his entire nation. And that's just the standing army (5.76 million) and reserves (all the rest). As Josef Stalin was fond of saying, quantity has a quality all its own.

However, I hate to be a numb3r w4nk3r, so anytime I go to war with a small nation I use a small attack force, to give them a fighting chance. Using tatics and technology make for much better RPs than massive WWI-style charges.

Okay, good. I simply wanted to ask because lately there seems to have been an influx of Nazi nations. (Look in my sig for the Anti-Nazi Pact, good thing to have in your sig if any facet of your nation seems German. Lots of Americans seem to think Germany = Nazi)

At 3%, you've pretty well doomed your infrastructure there, chief. And your spending per soldier is abyssmal. Which also would imply your military ability for upkeep is even worse... so I can think of nations which wouldn't mind going up against rusty tanks and soldiers who carry muskets.

Offhand, we'll recommend everyone read the bits on Logistics and Militaries by Clan Smoke Jaguar and The Evil Overlord.

3% military... constantly at war, are you?

Not intelligent to threaten bigger nations….very true

But, you got to give the man some credit….he’s standing up for what he thinks right, and he’s willing to face total destruction at your hands should you play that card. That’s pretty ballsy. He’s not tossing numbers around here, people, hes standing up to fight…got to respect that.

Would someone be so kind as to explain why there are these sudden hostilities against Colorado and Texas? A link would do just fine…if there’s warmongering afoot, you people may have to deal with someone about, or a little bigger, than yourselves…

If any nation dares to provoke Colodaro and Texas , you will face the bulk of my army . Since Colodaro and Texas is part of the Coalition Of Sovereign Nations , all nations in the coalition will come to Colorado and Texas's help .

No, I'm not constantly at war. I do have compulsory service for one year, so my military is naturally going to be bigger than average for my size. Add to that the fact that many families in Malkyer view service in the military as one of the highest duties to the nation, and the various brushfire wars that come from maintaining a large and recently-obtained empire, then the military is not at all unrealistic. Also, if you had read my post, you would have seen that the active service is only 5.76 million, or less than one percent of the population. All the rest are reserves, or National Guard type units.

Besides, since you seem to know better than I what I spend on my military, I assume you're going by Thirdgeek or some other calculator. I, for one, do not use Thirdgeek because I think it doesn't reflect the nation I RP. For example, it says I don't spend anything on Administration. However, I do not RP as a nation in anarchy. I use it as a rough guide, yes, but I make my own budget allocations which I use for my RP.
