"Good evening, everyone, this is Walter Krankheit, of RBNNN, the most trusted name in government-approved news. At last, our glorious empire has acquired the former nation of South Africa, the Persian Gulf of minerals, a hotbed of diversity, teeming with an almost infinite supply of gold, diamonds, and many other valuables that most people would give their eye teeth for. Minister of State Security Chia Neng Lee has announced that 'major and sweeping changes will begin, and they will begin at once.' Among the changes will be:

The South African Parliament will be 're-vised,' so that 1/11 of the legislators are Afrikaner, 1/11 are Zulu, 1/11 are Xhosa, 1/11 are English, etc. All 11 of South Africa's languages- Afrikaans, English, Zulu, Xhosa, Swazi, Ndebele, Southern Sotho, Northern Sotho, Tsonga, Tswana, and Venda- will be taught in schools, and students will be required to be fluent in each of these languages. In addition, Thai and Farsi will be mandatory, although they will not be official languages.

The old South African flag, the one flown from 1928-1994, will be flown.

The South African Communist Party will be outlawed. The African National Congress and other pro-communist parties will be outlawed as well.

Small portions of the country will be set aside as reservations, for those who wish to preserve their culture, be they Xhosa, Afrikaner, or whatever. However, no one will be required to live in these reservations. Most of the country will be open to all races and completely free of segregation.

Martial law will be declared, and will last until South Africa's abominably high crime rate is brought under control.

100,000 doctors will be brought to South Africa, and over $10,000,000,000 will be spent researching how to stop the AIDS epidemic.

Tens of thousands of architects and engineers will arrive to tear down the old shantytowns left over from apartheid, and build newer, better houses for all races.

That is all for now. Again, this is Walter Krankheit, of RBNNN. Thank you, and good night."
Vastiva

The Vastivan pullout - required by the armistice - included the removal of most of the year's surplus harvest of grain, vegetables, and fruits. They left enough to feed the nation in the coming months - but this year, South Africa would not be selling on the open market.

Many dissidents also accompanied the pullout, along with several intellectuals who feared what was to come - and no small number of the South African Communist Party.

Vastiva's 4th and 11th Fleets sailed off, unmolested - and to be remembered by the South Africans as a nation which came to them in their time of need.

Subtlety had worked very well.
