Legionaire

OCC: This is a story (open) about the men of Gremlin Corps, an elite unit in the Legionaire Military. It takes place in Uga, the capital of Whitestripe (I have the owner's permission to use the nation. It's my brothers), while it is being retaken. The current setting is in the goverment's headquarters/President's house. Carefree to join but let me know before doing so.
ICC: Commander Barrak Stockholm looked out at the city of Uga from what used to be the the President of Whitestripe's office. Stockholm watched as dead and wounded soldiers were being unloaded from APC's and Bradley Fighting vichiles. He watched the medical staff scurry about in the courtyard checking on each soldier that was unloaded. Early reports indicated that 150 men had been killed in action with another 300 wounded. Despite the "high" casulty rating, Stockholm couldn't help but feel proud of gremlin corps and the men of the regular army. The tanks had set up a perimiter around the building and Stockholm watched engineers set up bunkers that overlooked the courtyard.
Stockholm walked away from the window and sat behind the President's desk. He put his boots up on the desk and lit a cigar. As he puffed away he thought about the events that had lead to this moment. He thought about the initial assault, about zip lining from a helicopter in the middle of night as AA batteries tore up the night skies and explosions went off all around the city. Most of the citizens had fled but a few remained. His unit had dropped in first and in the mid afternoon the next day it linked up with the regular army near the industrial district and pressed northward. He thought about being pinned down in Barnam Square where there was little cover and most of the casulties had occured. He took his boots off the desk and walked into the hallway. Command Seargent Davis walked up to him and slauted.
"Sir. this is the information we recieved from the Viao soldiers (Viao is the name of the country that invaded Uga)." Davis then handed Stockholm a small binder.
Stockholm took the binder and flipped through it. None of the prisoners knew where Whitestripe's President, President Cobb or any of the other goverment officials were. The prisoners also refused to answer where the rest of the Viao forces were. Stockholm handed the binder back to Davis. The two walked down the hallway. As they walked, Stockholm shouldered his rifle.
"John, how long have we fought together?"
"This is our 4th conflict, so 5, 6 years mabye"
"Out of all those years how many of them have you spent as Comamnd Seargent?"
"4 sir"
Stockholm stopped. He reached into a pouch on his pants and produced a small box.
"Command has seen fit to grant you a officer's commission as a Lieutenant."
Stockholm opened the box and began pinning a silver bar on each shoulder of the man's jacket. He stopped and the two saluted.
"Congratulations Lieutenant."
"Thank you sir."
"No problem."
"I'm seirous, it's an honor sir."
"As an officer you don't have to address me as sir anymore. Atleast not infront of other officers or in battle. But obviously in front of Generals, the enlisted soldiers and in public, yada yada."
The two continued walking.
"So who else gets a promotion."
"Out of our unit? Well you're the only commission. There are a few enlisted soldiers and a few officers getting one but I don't have the list."
There was a loud explosion. The two officers raced in its direction.
