Shivan History: Temporal Wars! (Application Only).

How slowly does a minute pass?
How quick a day!
Eons zip by in the blink of an eye
While pain. . . pain
Endures eternally.
Time…. Is the greatest mystery and last frontier of our realm, it is the bane of our civilisation, it is present for every individual, for every collective, for every race in the Galaxy. Time is everywhere. It surrounds us when we are born, it guides us through life, it consumes us in death…
But time is relative.
Time can be manipulated……
After the Great wars the Shivan Imperium sought about a renewed conflict, a second attempt for bloodshed, but, time was against them. The bickering, the negotiations, the waste of precious hours saw all attempts of surprise dwindle away, until it was too late, until that the mere concept of a second war would have resulted in a second massacre. Time offered an omen, the war was not to be.
Within the Shivan Remnant itself the warlord had been removed, executed and thrust down into the gravity ridden world below the orbital complex. With the restoration of the single consciousness there was no need for an inadequate and inferior leadership.
As a result it was decided collectively that a new method of action had to be taken up, a new plan, a new course and thankfully the Shivan remnant had patience, only a gift which time could bestow.
In the Shivan outer Spiral system of Belsemi, the destroyers were hard at work, working on what they do best. Ships of war.
No longer privileged to the almost infinite resources of subspace the Imperium could no longer build its grand capital ships, and instead they favoured smaller, more mobile vessels. But in contradiction to two hundred years of new construction methods, the Imperium began work on a new Juggernaut vessel, a new Sathanas cruiser, but this time it was to have alterations.
The great claws at the front were equipped with their beam weapons, the flak and anti fighter weapons were all still situated in their normal positions, but it was on the body of the juggernaut where the greatest change was present.
The Main body had been altered, its great spikes removed and in place, a great dome, swirling and glowing emitting bright red light worthy of Dante’s Inferno. This new capital class was the first, and the last of the Shivan Remnants temporal vessels.
Crewed with thirty thousand warriors, manned with Verlac fighters, and carrying the knowledge of the future the vessel prepared to leave the present, for the glory of the past.
The collective mind held its breath for the Imperiums last chance for dominion….
Initiate pre-fire Matrix. Temporal Wave estimated to cover all known space. Charge primary, secondary, tertiary capacitors. Ready repair crews.
From the great warship scaffolding broke away, Shivan warriors watched from the surrounding stations and shipyards, waiting for success. Once the temporal weapon was fired and the rift established the Shivan system would be visible to all, a great beacon for every nation, including the humans who would undoubtedly send warships, fleets of doom and fire. Assuredly the Shivans in the present would die, they would be exterminated, hunted down into extinction, it was inevitable.
The Juggernaut glowed in every spectrum, emitting radiation that was previously thought to be impossible, and almost instantly a vast tear formed in the space before the warship. Beyond lay a mirror image, of a time long past. Pulled through the warship vanished into history, Five Hundred years into history…….
OOC: Okay, this thread is open for everyone. Due to the nature of this “attack” it is perfectly possible for your nations not to be effected, I’m leaving it up to everyone to decide on what happens to their nations in the present, I don’t much care. All I’m interested in is a good RP. You can have nothing happen to your nation, it’s all up to you. Almost everyone should detect the temporal wave, and therefore you should be able to pin point it to Belsemi. If you want to talk to me about anything contact me on msn at Wardventure1@aol.com .

The temporal wave was detected by the borg Fleet at Tyr. They began sorting out the chronometric particle dispersement to form a proper temporal vortex. The process would take several hours.
The temporal wave was detected by a remote probe. It studied the info and transferred to a temporal station near the edge of the galaxy. The station started trying to decipher the information and figure out exactly what kind of disturbance had occurred.

Well all iv'e said is that's its a temporal wave, I leave what it does to you, but if you want to have repercussions in your nation they will slowly happen as the Shivans begin changing things. But you don’t need to have anything happen, that’s the point I will stress. This is all for an RP. What the Shivans will be doing is rallying nations to their banner such as a young Chronosia and they will then go after the young you so to speak. This time frame is 100 Years before the first Shivan war.

The Imperium's scanners in Tyr picked up the temporal disturbances, an unsettling feeling of Deja vu settling in. The computers of the Imperium whirled, boggling at the readings, for they had never tapped the temporal wellspring, never trod that treacherous road. The Discord Ai network, however, noticed the BlackGrue computers working overtime, and began a systematic analysis of their systems.
"Borg collective; this is Discord....We request an explanation of these readings, and advisement on how to proceed"
“Time travel? Surely that is impossible!”
General Tony Kimba had found himself being precariously suspended over a large chasm as a huge glowing orb pulsated in front of him. He had no idea how he ended up like this as the last thing he remembered was going to sleep.
“ ‘Impossible’ is a word that applies only to those species who have yet to fully fathom the universe.”
The strange voice echoed all around him and Kimba felt as though his head was going to explode because of its booming nature,
“And do these ‘Shivans’ fully fathom the universe?” he asked, not entirely appreciative of being deprived of his sleep. The Orb seemed to breath as its surface gently rose and fell in rhythm,
“The ‘Shivans’ should not have the ability to time travel. Their desire to journey to the past means they have plans to change the future.”
“Wait wait,” interrupted Kimba, “how can they change the future? It’s already been set.”
“ The dynamics of time work in a way beyond your comprehension. But you can be certain of one thing. If they are not stopped, your timeline will cease to exist.”
The General was starting to get a headache. It was only a year ago that scientists at the Newton-101 research station had been experimenting with time travel, only to find that a recording device from the future interrupted their experiment. Kimba had tried to put it out of his mind but now this!?
“What can I do?” he asked impatiently, “We cannot even contemplate time travel, let alone travel to the past!”
“Go to the coordinates at the boarder of Null Space. You will know what to do then.”
Before he could respond, Kimba suddenly felt as though he was falling. The orb disappeared above him and he fell unconscious.
He awoke with a start in his bed and immediately reached for the lights. The dim glow illuminated the room just enough to be comfortable for his eyes. He pressed the intercom on his bedside table, “Kimba to Orbit Control.”
A second later a voice responded, “Orbit Control, Lieutenant Meyhew here General.”
“Summon Captain Viper, Commander Hotshot and General Amarka to the brief-hall at once!”
The lieutenant acknowledged and signed off as Kimba shot out of bed and got dressed.
The four of them were sitting in the brief-hall all trying to rub the sleep out of their eyes. General Amarka had just become used to the 24-hour system used on Orbit Station EA-33 and now it was being interrupted. Commander Hotshot simply put on a brave face, but Captain Viper was altogether different. His lack of decorum meant that he wasn’t in the good books of many Earth Defence generals,
“With all due respect general, how can you be sure it wasn’t just a dream?” Viper asked, the fatigue still swimming in his mind,
“Captain I’m sure I have it within myself not to call an urgent gathering purely on the pretence of a dream.”
Viper shook his head and said nothing, Commander Hotshot rolled his eyes,
“General, the only experience we’ve had with time travel is with the disaster on Newton – 101. And that has yet to be resolved.”
“I know how it sounds commander,” replied Kimba, “but I believe we have little choice. We cannot risk the possibility of an apparently hostile alien race from changing our history.”
Amarka sat forward with his fingers steepled, “General from what you are saying, it sounds like the timeline has already been altered. I’ve certainly never heard of these ‘Shivans’.”
Viper nodded, “Yeah. If your source is correct, then this ‘Great War’ happened nearly a thousand years ago.”
“I have to agree General,” added Hotshot, “if a war of such significance to the human race occurred in out past, surely we would have known about it?”
“I don’t have all the answers gentlemen,” replied Kimba as he got up and paced in his customary manner, “All I know is that the Shivans have gone back in time, apparently to change history. And from what I have heard, their interference could become catastrophic for the human race.”
Viper turned to Amarka, “Could it be the 8th Empire trying a new tactic?”
“Unlikely. The 8th Empire are coldly logical. I doubt they would employ a different species to help them as they are trying to eradicate anything that’s alive.”
“Whoever or whatever is behind this, I am convinced that they are a far greater threat at this time than the 8th Empire.” Said Kimba as he leant on the table, “General Amarka, prepare the I.C.C. Justice. We’re going to the boarder of Null Space.”
Amarka got up after acknowledging his superior’s orders and left the hall. Hotshot and Viper followed suit,
“I hope you know what you’re doing General,” Viper said as he turned to leave, “because if this turns out to be a trap, then we’re all finished.” He walked out and soon, General Kimba was alone,
“So do I.” He replied after everyone had left.

As Amarka was walking down the hall, an Ensign stepped out of an open doorway.
"Sir, you dropped this."
Quickly shoving it into Amarka's chest, the Ensign ran off, and dissapeared. On the datapad, a message flashed.
[If you want to know about the Shivan's, don't move.]
Nobody knew at which point WNISC went completely temporal. Some said it was 10,000 years after the founding of Ankh, other 10,000,000. Whatever was the truth, it didn't matter. WNISC had dedicated itself to watching the universe go by, from the safe viewpoint of Q-Space, only interfering to get their hands on more technology. The massive wave was not only detected, but broke through to Q-space, almost wiping out Temporal Base 6. Luckily only 12 people were killed, when the wave simply erased their section of the base from time. they ended up sucking vacuum. The AI commanding the base called all the commanders together for an emergency meeting...
ooc:And a TAG.
Amarka glanced after the ensign who had disappeared from view. The corridor on Orbit Station EA-33 was surprisingly empty, even at this time of night. Amarka examined the message and stood still…

A low humming could be heard. As it got louder, Amarka got increasingly worried, because the floor was vibrating. This continued for a moment, before a shaft of light surrounded Amarka. And then the floor opened up, and five...rings? surrounded Amarka. Then the floor lit up, and everything went dark...
"General Amarka. It's nice to see you in one piece..."
Amarka immediately recognised the voice behind him.
Kartion...
“Kartion!” Amarka clenched his fists as he recognised his old adversary, “I should have known you were behind this. Are you responsible for these so-called ‘Shivans’?”

"Hell no!"
Kartion teleported so he was facing Amarka. His features were the same, save for his hair, which was much longer than it had been previously.
""In fact, I've brought you here, because it's time for me to play anti-hero again, and I need your help."
Kartion laughed.

Amarka sniffed a laugh, “My help? You kidnap me with your customary ‘style’ and you want my help?”
He began to pace back and forth from Kartion as he rubbed the back of his head,
“You refused to help when the 8th Empire attacked sector POL-198, so why should I help you now?”

Five Hundred Years Ago: One Hundred Years Before the First Great War
The rift closed instantly, leaving the Juggernaut alone in the vacant system. The millions of voices that were present ceased, the collective mind severed, and cut, with only a few thousand remaining.
The vessel had sustained damage, the great core along its back slowly dimming to a dull red radiance, but its engines were fully operational. Moving forwards at sub light speed the Shivans left their system of exile, they left the barren world below, and perhaps, in five hundred years time, it would remain barren, but only if the destroyers succeeded.
Powering up its Hyperspace engines the Juggernaut left real space and ascended. Moving faster than light its first port of call was an early race, a young race, who, being allies in the future, would become slaves of the past. The chaos lords of Chronosia, would serve the Shivans needs well. Aggressive, blood thirsty, god fearing, all that was needed in a species, they would be the hammer of the Imperium, they would strike, and the enemies would fall.
The future humans would have to be struck, planets would burn, stars would darken, and life, life will be extinguished. Around the Shivan warship, the stars of the Galaxy were streamed into billions of star lines, a vortex of faster than light travel which hurtled the Shivans ever closer to their prey…….
Chronosia System: Chronosian Homesystem: Day One of the Temporal Wars
Descending out of Hyperspace the Shivans arrived, the star lines and their vortex dissipated and collapsed into real space, the destroyers were finally here. Moving into the primitive system, small interstellar traffic was scurrying to and from the innermost world, ships, vastly smaller than the Juggernaut continued unawares of the threat.
Launching the first wave of fighters, the Shivans proceeded inwards, towards their goal…..

Kartion shrugged.
"Anyway, you have to help me. One, because the Force has forseen it, and two, if you don't, those xenocidal sonofabitches, who we know only as 'Shivans' will wipe every living thing out!"

Kartion nodded.
"Okay, now, there are two things you need to know before we set off. One, we're on the ELSD Sabre, my flagship, so the Justice isn't required. And two...everything I know about the Shivans."
Kartion proceeded to a door to his right, and opened it. Inside was something Amarka had never seen before, and it disgusted him.
"The Serpantians gave this to me as a present, as well as the room. They captured one in the Great War mop-up, and I've kept it ever since. It's a nasty piece of work. Inside here are the Shivan Databanks, which contain lots of info, from a brief history, to what type of ships they use."

Location: Adjudicator class destroyer ISV Ballad of Pain, Currently purging planet P392X of Xeno life.
Star-Captain Tarsus smiled. He'd only just recently managed to crawl his way up from command of a light destroyer back to a heavy, and he was celebrating by wiping out a primitive alien race on some Podunk planet in the armpit of the galaxy.
His vessel, the monstrous Ballad of Pain resembled a great vulture hovering ominously over the dying planet, pinpricks of hellish white light occasionally making their way from the Ballad to the world below. It had once been a lush Gaia, and now it was little more than a great glittering ball of lava.
“Star-Captain, sensors are picking something up. It appears to be an anomalous energy wave. Orders?” The Ballad’s primary AI, Tycho, was more like a human in his mannerisms than a machine. He could barely contain his excitement as he absorbed the sensor readouts. He was a warship, and he noticed something faintly familiar about the energy. It had a dim form that hinted of something. It hinted of the Shivans, the great enemy.
“What do you think it is?” Tarsus asked, his voice as curious as an owl’s
“I don’t know, but it smells faintly Shivan to me, Sir.” Tycho’s voice betrayed him. It was plain that he wanted to match his mettle against the Shivans, but ultimately the decision would be up to the Captain. For while Tycho could run the ship alone, he needed, no craved following the orders of a superior officer. One of the many security devices built into Imperial AIs to keep the humans safe.
“Shivans? Pinpoint the wave’s origin and activate quasi-space drives. We’ve got vermin to exterminate.” A thin smile pursed upwards in Tarsus’ lips as he contemplated this latest turn of events. Imperial forces had a mandate to exterminate Shivans wherever they were found. Not only would this boost his ship’s prestige, but it would make his peers respect him. He wouldn’t be the laughingstock of the Imperial Fleet for much longer if Frank Tarsus had anything to say about it!
******
The great, hulking form of the Ballad suddenly turned away from the planet with an unnatural speed and grace, gone were the days of ponderous dreadnoughts and destroyers. Imperial capital ships were in a class all their own, an altogether necessary distinction when one realizes that only twelve Imperial capital ships exist, in total, and that each of these craft is responsible for the safety of the Great Human Empire.
Blue-white starlight reflected off the Ballad’s hull as it pulled away from the system’s sun. A hellish green portal erupted scant kilometers in front of the monstrous destroyer as its quasi-space drives triggered and released like some massive phallic simile. Within moments, the Ballad had slipped past the threshold, disappearing from view as it crossed the barriers between dimensions.
Time and space roared by like a hurricane as the tides and currents of quasi-space buffeted the Ballad like an ancient marine ship of the bygone ages. Finally, another portal opened and spit forth the Ballad, outside the system of origin for the wave. It wasn’t marked on the Imperial charts, strangely enough.
******
”Where are we?” Tarsus asked as his ship began probing the system with active scans, perceiving everything there was to see. Soon, the ship began generating a composite of what it saw, a planet here, a star there, a large Shivan facility over there…
“We appear to be in an unmarked system. I’m scanning for Shivan zignals…” Tycho’s voice trailed off as his view pierced the star system like a methodical hunter seeking his prey.
“Wait! There’s one. It’s big, some sort of station. I’m picking up fighters and small craft all around it. No major capital ships though. Curious.”
“What’s up?” Tarsus asked, wondering what Tycho was scrutinizing so harshly with the sensors.
”Sir, this is definitely the nexus of that energy wave. I’m also picking up Shivan signatures. Looks like I was right. Orders?” Tycho replied, his voice picking up at the end, easily indicating his glee that there were indeed Shivans here.
Tarsus licked his lips as he grinned and said, “Exterminate them.”
“Aye sir. Raising shields, activating lockdown fields. Turrets charging. Acquiring targets…” Tycho replied, his voice sounding almost glazed over, practically drunken with pleasure.

- Deep space patrol -
A Romulan Serpantol Imperium Battle Group of the 6th fleet on a patrol and recon mission for the Tal'Shiar driffed through deep space. Their perpose was to monitor relations with a posible new ally and the tension growing between that posible ally and another Nation. So far they had found no reason for or against further relations with these people, they were much alike and used very simular technology. It was decided that they would head home to make their reports to RSI Fleet Command and the RSI Diplomatic Corps.
Onboard the Warbird Trexin:
"Commander, Battle Group officers reporting in. They are ready to make the probability jump home."
"Very Good, give orders to power drives and make calculations for the Jump."
"Yes Sir!"
The RSI ships begain to make calculations for their jump. Their Quantum Singularity Drive power cores encreasing energy with every secound that passed. Soon they would be home back to their families. For many of the men and women of this Battle Group were getting a shore leave when they got home.
"Sir, Battle Group reporting ready for jump sir."
"Good, orders to Jum...."
"Sir! All ships reporting... Massive energy wave incoming." interupted the comm officer
"We are detecting it to sir... large qauntities of chronoton particles as well sir!"
"A Temporal Wave?... It can not be... Quickly all ships power down singularity cores.. Hurry!"
"Its to late Commander.. Impact in 5..4..3..2......."
The massive temporal wave smashed into the group of ships. One ship exploded in a massive green plasma fire ball. Many of the ships were taking damage, their power cores seemed to be drawing power from the Wave.
"Sir.. We may have a problem, chronoton particles are building in the Quantum Singularity cores of most of the fleet sir."
"NO.. This can not be happening.. send a distress call to RSI Command. Tell them we are abandoning ship."
"Commander!, something is happening... chronoton particle readings in the core are off the chart... i dont know what will happ......"
Befor the man could finish, there was an extremely bright flash of Greenish-White light. The Ships of the RSI Battle Group seemed to be fluxing in and out. Time seemed to stand still. The crews frozen in place like a picture in time. As suddenly as it had begain another Flash of light. The crews of the small fleet found themselves adrift in space wondering were they could be.
"Where the hell are we! I want status reports now!"
"Sir location is unknown, starcharts do not appear to be accurate for this region!"
"Commander, Reports are coming in from the other ships. It would appear that we lost seven ships sir. One was destroyed by the temporal wave and we have no idea where the others are sir. Surviving vessels are all reporting damage and casualties."
Commander Vel'tolic look down at the control on his command chair. He pressed a few buttons and brought up the surviving ship count. It displayed;
- Current Battle Group Ship Report -
WarBirds:
1x Scimitar Class Superbattleship (Dreadnought)- Command ship Trexin
10x D'Deridex Class Warbird (Battle Cruiser)
8x Reman class Battle Cruisers
12x Norexam "Valdore" Class Warbird (Battle Cruiser)
Cruisers:
1x Selok Shadow class (ECM) BattleCruiser
2x Jade Shadow class (ECM) BattleCruiser
1x Javilin class Carrier
20x Hawk Class Cruiser
30x Shrike class light cruiser
1x NightHawk class Medical ship
Frigates:
40x Raptor Class Frigate
Losses - 1 Javilin Class Carrier, 2 Hawk Class Cruisers, 2 Reman Class Battle Cruisers, 2 D'Deridex class Warbirds
- End Report -
"Such losses.. I wonder what happened the the missing ships"
"I dont know sir, But we are none the better sir, Weapons, shields, and main power off line! 15 dead sir."
"Alright, we dont have time to mourn. Get repair crews out, I want main power on now. Then shields and weapons. Form a Cluster defence pattern, See if you can get the hangers open and try to launch fighters. They may not be effected sence they were not active during the wave empact."
"Yes Sir Commander!"
The ships that still had power formed on the Trexin and as many ships as could launched their fighters for defence. It was hard to tell how many ships would be able to be repaired or how long it would take. But then even if they got their systems back they had no idea where they were or who was around. The Battle Group Commander hung on to the hope that with such a large group of ships missing they would surely send help... He had no idea that that would be nearly impossible were he was.

OOC: Okay guys, so far so good, but I’m now putting on a restriction on the backstepping. Too many nations going back in time will just make it like, well combat in the present which is not what the RP is about. Serpantol good post, but I’m going to ask that you make a lot of your fleet too damaged to use or something, just have a few ships remaining, no more than five. If there not in the past then we’re cool.
The RP is going to take place One Hundred years before the great war, which means a lot of nations will have technologically regressed. Which is a good thing.
Contact me on MSN at Wardventure1@aol.com or tg me if you want to okay something with me. But any other nations wanting to back step contact me first.

Deep under the surface of Yernare, the only moon of Urragurtha the most desolate planet known to the people of the Star Imperium, something was happening. The senior director of the library, for that is what the moon was, a giant store of knowledge, was slowly going insane. He knew that the holes on the shelves should have held great tomes, but they were not there, nor were there any record of their existance. He had asked some of the lesser librarians about it, but they looked at him as though he was senile. His sharp mind quickly figured out what was going on. Someone was tampering with time, and it was causing repercussions unlike anything seen before. He also knew that, due to his biometric enhancements, he was immune to most effects of temporal foul-play. He quickly went to his office and contacted the Flaming Souls Temporal Command.
~~~~4 hours later~~~~
Flaming Souls Temporal Command, Norsa Ondo
"Sir, we have reports from all over the galaxy of temporal anomolies, but the problem is most people cannot recognize them for what they are and attribute it to memory loss or insanity" The comm officer reported.
"Yes, yes I know, Senior Director Slambert sent a message earlier reporting the same thing." Temporal General Finoms stated, "Call the captains of the Incursion Fleet, I want them in my office immediately."
All throughout space, all Flaming Souls Temporal Vessels left their positions, some leaving battles mid-stride. All but one appeared around Norsa Ondo minutes later. The Hunter's Mercy was on a mission just as important and as such was exempt from the recall order.
Temporal Command Meeting Room Alpha
"Gentlemen, I have you here for one simple thing. Now, I don't know the official military terminology for this, but things are really fucked up out there. Someone, we have suspicions of the Shivans, has travelled back in time, and are starting to change the flow of history. Your mission is simple, fix it. You have every possible resource at your control. Do not hesitate, if you find a single individual messing with the time-stream, destroy them, that is the only limits, no survivors." Temporal General Finoms said.
The room was quiet as the assembled officers took in what was said, and they each stood up and left, a few at a time. Minutes later, there was no trace of any temporal vessels bearing the markings of Flaming Souls in the present, with the one exception. The largest single mobilisation of temporal vessels had just commenced, and it was not even to a threat in the present, but one in the past.
The ships of the Flaming Souls Temporal Incursion Fleet manifested around the planet, still in its infancy of Flaming Souls development. Shortly thereafter, they departed, heading towards the largest source of temporal disturbance.
Several Hours Later:
- Unknown space -
Onboard the Warbird Trexin:
Commanding officers of several ships gathered onboard the Trexin. They were there to discuss their current situation and try to figure a way out of it.
"Commander Vel'tolic, we have found that the reason for our starcharts unconsistancy isn't so much our charts as it is the stars."
"What are you saying Sub-Commander?"
"Well sir, it would appear that we have traveled back in time sir."
"The temporal wave?"
"Partially sir, it would seem that while there was a build up of chronoton particles in almost every ships power core, a instibility in the Trexins core cause the particales to react with the core's singularity source. It was the Trexin that brought us here. The ships that are missing were on the outside of the fleet while the Trexin was in the center. It is possible that the temporal vortex did not effect the missing vessels."
"Well thats good.. but what about us?.. There are a lot of men here who want to get back home."
"Well sir, we believe that we can use the remaining chronoton particles that were trapped in the cores of many of the other vessels can be used to get the majority of the Fleet back to our time line."
"Majority?, What do you mean my the majority of the fleet?"
"Our early estimates was that we would have enough for the entire fleet. However, we were able to scan for chronoton particles on all most ever ship. Some still have them others do not. With the lack of extra particles it is believed that we can get all but a hand full of ships back."
"How many have to stay?"
"Five...."
The room broke into a disturbance. Officers talked amoungst themselves worried over who would have to stay.
"I will stay" said Commander Calvic'bon "The wave that brought us here was caused by something, technology like that could be valuable to the empire. As the only Commanding Tal'shiar officer here, I and my crew volunteer to stay behind."
"Thats very admerable Commander, but who else will stay. We will ask for more volunteers first."
"I volunteer, The Commander and Crew of the Warbird Tennerix will stay at your side Commander Calvic'bon."
"The Crew of the Warbird Jax will stay."
"Anyone else?"
"The Crew and Commander of the Warbird Rinous sirs."
"Well then with all this honor amoung our Commanders it would be humiliating not to follow wouldnt it...hahahaha (chuckling out loud)... Well then i guess sence it was the Trexin that cause this mess in the first place she, her crew, and I will stay as well.
Well prepair the fleet for departure once they are repaired... volunteer commander stay here. we will discuss our plan of action."
After several more ours past, chronoton particles had been gathered and dispearsed to the ships that were to go back home. Several ships were to damaged to be able to leave and their ammunition and supplies were split between the five remaining ships. Once the appropriate systems were set up the and calculations made the fleet bound for the Future Romulan Serpantol was ready to go. The ships that were remaining moved away from the fleet to not be cought in a temporal wake and be destroyed. With a massive flash the fleet was gone. After the flash was several explossions.
"What was that?"
"Unknown sir."
Hopefully they made it back and hopefully we will make it back thought the Commanders of the Remaining ships.
- Present day space -
"Sir, I think we are back!"
"He is right sir, starcharts showing normal!"
"Good, get reports from the other ships."
"Reports in sir, but it looks like we lost several of the smaller ships."
"Their shields must not have held out."
"Transmit ok messages to RSI Command.. Let them know we will give them a full report when we get there."
The fleet that made it back set off for home. Many of them still had damaged drive systems and it would take many hours to return home. As for the men and ships left behind their future was begining to look dim. They still were not for sure where they were and why or who had mistakinly brought them here, and only time would tell. It was certain that the next few days, weeks, or months may be the most trying of their lives. All that was left was one Scimitar Class Superbattleship, one Selok Shadow class (ECM) BattleCruiser, and three D'Deridex Class Warbirds to face the unknown.
Kartion nodded.
"Okay, now, there are two things you need to know before we set off. One, we're on the ELSD Sabre, my flagship, so the Justice isn't required. And two...everything I know about the Shivans."
Kartion proceeded to a door to his right, and opened it. Inside was something Amarka had never seen before, and it disgusted him.
"The Serpantians gave this to me as a present, as well as the room. They captured one in the Great War mop-up, and I've kept it ever since. It's a nasty piece of work. Inside here are the Shivan Databanks, which contain lots of info, from a brief history, to what type of ships they use."
Amarka had never seen the like before. A monstrous, tri-legged creature, which seemed to have the strength to smash through anything, was being held within a force cage. Its single eye locked onto him and it started thrashing around, burning its pulsating crimson body on the cage wall. Amarka winced backward as the creature emitted a screech that seemed to pierce his mind,
“What the HELL is that? I’ve never seen anything like it before!”
________________________________________________________________
General Kimba was drumming his fingers on the desk in his strategy room. The door chimed and he pressed a switch, which turned the opposite wall transparent, revealing Captain Viper on the other side. He waved him in and Viper entered, followed by Commander Hotshot,
“We still can’t find him General,” said Viper, “either on the station or the Justice.”
Kimba got up and moved toward the exit. Viper and Hotshot followed him through to Orbit Control,
“Captain Lin, inform the I.C.C. Justice to be ready to depart.” Commanded Kimba, “And then have all Starglider wings pull double shift patrols outside the station.”
“Expecting trouble General?” Hotshot asked as he and Viper followed Kimba toward the docking bay,
“Amarka wouldn’t simply leave without telling me. So it is possible he’s been kidnapped.”
“How? No one could smuggle anyone off the station without taking them through the security field.”
“Perhaps we’re dealing with someone who doesn’t rely on ‘smuggling’.” Replied Viper.
“Either way, we still have a mission to complete.” Said Kimba as they approached the landing bay,
“Wait, you’re coming with us?” Viper asked. The General stopped and turned,
“I have to. I was the only one with this ‘vision’ and so I need to see it through.”
“With respect General, as the strategic commander of this sector, your place is here.”
“I am well aware of that Commander!” And he continued down the corridor.
The Imperial Command Cruiser Justice powered up its engines and slowly made its way out of the orbit of Chai-Sasha, heading for Null Space and an apparent rendezvous with fate…
*Time is changed Master* Came the words of the Searpent to Stephen. *Something is not right, we are the same, and we are the same, but you have changed*
That is because histroy has changed to my favor, I won! He screamed in triumph, and around him the searpents scuttled in fear. But, where is my creation?
-I stoped it young Creature He heard the soft voice in his mind. -Yes, you won the civil war because of that Backstep, but I brought time back into focus, you ruled for a while, a long while, and Tsurani is now different, but the fall still happened, and Arkyla still betrayed the Illetrians, bring me into power, and from that time, nothing was different.-
"You robbed me!"
-No, I saved you, had that not happened, you would never have gained your powers, and would have been killed on Imperia.- He felt the trace of humour. -Your ultimate victory became your only defeat.-
Stephen shook.
Back Step Five Hundred Years, the War of the Rift has just finished, with Lithia and her forces fleeing into the safty of the Everqueens kingdom and the Terran Colonies Becoming True masters of the Tsurani Empire.
Stephen sat on the Throne, drenched in the red of Dead Tsurani. He smiled, tasting the salty flavour of victory. BEfore him, the three clan leaders stood in chains, and he looked at them with his piecing red eyes.
"On one hand" He said in a strong Cold voice. "I Could send you back to your people." He looked thoughtful, then smiled. "And I don't think so. Kill them!" He smiled as the Humans shot the Three bugs in the head. Their blood hit the floor, and the creatures twiched before halting their falls.
"Know this all! Any Tsurani Bug or Alethrian without my colours is here by outlawed, if found, will be killed, and any head brought to me will be rewarded with five hundred Gold Coins."
"Sir! Unknown ship came out of no where, its in our space!"
"Send the Seventh Legion to it, they are the most skilled force within the Empire, they fought mostly in the generator level." He laughed. "If they don't come, Destroy them!"
Kartion grinned.
"This fiesty little bitch..." Kartion stuch his hand out, and sent bolts of electricity into the thing, half burning, half electrocuting the thing, "Is a Shivan." The Shivan seemed to slouch slightly, but after a few moments, regained it's energy, and started banging on the forcefields, to no avail.
"Notice how the creature seems to be cybernetically enhanced. The Serpantians believe that the Shivans were created once, but the only evidence is the strange arrangements of parts it has on it. Like this," He pointed to the Shivan's shoulder, "This is a Plasma Cannon. We don't know how it's powered, but boy, this thing could vapourise anything that's not heavily armoured. Obviously, this kind of thing can't be naturally a part of the Shivan, or at least originally. Most of it's speculation."
Kartion walked over to a hologram of a Moloch Corvette, and switched it over to a hologram of the Shivan.
"Herre is the databank. Here, is all the knowledge, theories etc. that the Serpantians have gathered. There's even footage from the Great War. It's not movie quality, but the evil these creatures unleash is more than crystal clear."
Kartion began hitting numerous buttons on the databank. His deep red eyes became sharp and brighter as he focused.
"Ooookay...I've set up a virtual 'slideshow', I think. Basically, all the information you need to know, I've grouped together into one presentation, that you can go through at will. Obviously it'll begin with a brief history, and end with a deep note. Inbetween, you'll find ship specifications, theories, and everything the Serpantians ever got. They even use Shivan weaponry on their ships, so they know a good deal about them too."
Kartion stepped aside, and gestured to the databank.
"Please begin, time is of the essence." Kartion then realised what he'd done, and then suppressed a snicker.
The preperations completed, a temporal gateway opened up and 3 borg ships entered it exiting a point in space-time near the base of the anomoly in other words, the Shevan entrance point into this time period.
The borg ships immediately hailed the shevians "There is a temporal anomoly origiating from this point in space-time, are you altering the timeline?"
"Something has changed..." Alex Masaki said, meditating, feeling a change in the Force. A temporal wave has occured, and it isn't looking good. Alex reached out further, then recalled a memory...a memory that was not supposed to be there. It was a time when Alex was ten years old, and his father Tenchi was President of the Republic of Coreworlds. It was a time of peace, a time when the space program was young, and has just discovered a new star system...
[Star Wars main theme]
[Pan down to a single Imperial mk I ISD, Firestorm patrolling space over Coreworlds, followed by escorts (it was our first purchase of a Star Destroyer, before that we only had smaller ships). Further down the planet of Earth, over the Atlantic Ocean is a large continent ringed by smaller islands. The legendary Atlantis? Close, but no cigar. It is Coreworlds, or Coredia, at the time of Tenchi's presidency.]
Corusca City, Coredia
The President of Coreworlds is a 31 year old Jedi Knight named John "Tenchi" Masaki. A lovely wife named Toni and a ten year old son called Alex rounds out the small family, not to mention several cats.
Tenchi himself is working on a bill from the Senate, deciding whether or not to veto the controversial Abortion Rights bill before his desk. He sighed. "Veto it and the women's rights groups will kill you. Don't and the Pro-lifes will string you up. Damned if yuou do, damned if you don't."
He shook his head, and decided to veto it anyway. After he signed the veto line, a military aide knocked on the door.
"Yes? What is it?" The President asked.
"Sir, our colony at New Coredia has discovered an anomaly..."
"What kind of anomaly?" The Jedi made a 'go on' motion with his hands.
The aide took a breath. "Temporal, sir."
"Meaning a time anomaly?"
"Yes sir. We don't know what caused it, but it appears that an unknown ship has crossed near the colony."
"Hmm. Interesting. Send a gunship to investigate and report back on the unknown ship. If it's friendly or hostile, I want to know about it."
"Yes, sir."
-----
Gunship Valiant lept out of hyperspace near the unknown ship.
"Sensors, what do you have so far?" Commander George Watson asked.
"Nothing much, sir. It appears to be dead in the water, er, space." The sensor officer was a former sea naval radar officer now training on the new equipment. Habits die hard.
"Very well. Keep scanning. Anything comes up. Lemme know."
"As ordered, sir."
The gunship continued to cruise leisurely through space, scanning the odd ship in space.
Belsemi
Human Presence Detected: Commence Evacuation.
Belsemi had been the Shivan home for years, they had rebuilt their complexes, reconstructed their hives and race, and now the destroyers were about to be….destroyed.
The vast warship that moved into the system swatted the defence grid effortlessly, satellites, defence platforms, everything that the Shivans relied upon were now gone and obliterated.
If this had been a mere hundred years before perhaps the Shivans would have had a chance. The Imperium had great warships in its prime, vast battleships, and frigates that would have been able to aid them in their cause, but this was regrettably the present, and the glory days of the Subspace clan were long gone.
Accepting their fate with quiet resignation, each Shivan knew that their clan was not utterly doomed, one other still existed in the present, one other would save their clan if the backstep failed.
Around the orbital complex fighters of all kinds simply stopped. The pilots happy in what was about to happen self-destructed causing small orbs of red flame to erupt around the complex. As each craft detonated millions of lives ended, while below the barren world that imprisoned so many of the Imperiums former leaders began to crack apart.
The devices implanted into the planets mantle and lithosphere began to detonate symbiotically, great swathes of rock, magma and crust hurtled out in ever direction consuming the Shivans and their infrastructure. The shipyards, nutrient complexes, data cores were all destroyed, masking their plans in fire.
To the humans the Shivan race, was now, all but extinct.
The Prison
Millions of voices were suddenly extinguished. Great groans of pain followed in the wake of silence, his race were dead, the Shivans were no more….. He was now the last Shivan, the collective was dead…… Now he was an individual, a solitary soldier bent on destroying everything it hated. Bent on consuming the humans.
Watching as two of the things entered his cell room, Kel-Var screeched in rage, smashing against the cell walls, he glanced his plasma cannon against the invisible shield which held him in place. One was the lightning creature, which enjoyed to torture him with pain.
The other, the other was new, his mind open, fragile, lacking in the most basic of mental blocks.
He will suffer.
Focusing on the Armarka Kel-Var thrust into his mind, within a moment he would be in an agony which only a few received the privilege of. Images of death, fire, xenocide and massacres were being burned onto the things brain. Images of systems being consumed by exploding stars, planets detonated ruthlessly, thousands of species suffering extermination across the universe, and with each image, the great wail of agony followed in its wake.
Kel-Var would show this Armarka what the Shivans were, a great Empire spanning into infinity, a race massacring everything that stood in their way, a race consumed of millions of clans, and that the humans had merely stood against one of them. The Shivans were the destroyers, the Shivans were subspace……
In the blink of an eye it had happened, pulling out of Armarka’s mind, Kel-Var remained, within less than a second the man had experienced a degree of pain that would have previously been unimaginable. Armarka now knew the true nature of the Shivans, their nature was too destroy…….
Five Hundred Years Ago: One Hundred Years Before the First Great War
The rift closed instantly, leaving the Juggernaut alone in the vacant system. The millions of voices that were present ceased, the collective mind severed, and cut, with only a few thousand remaining.
The vessel had sustained damage, the great core along its back slowly dimming to a dull red radiance, but its engines were fully operational. Moving forwards at sub light speed the Shivans left their system of exile, they left the barren world below, and perhaps, in five hundred years time, it would remain barren, but only if the destroyers succeeded.
Powering up its Hyperspace engines the Juggernaut left real space and ascended. Moving faster than light its first port of call was an early race, a young race, who, being allies in the future, would become slaves of the past. The chaos lords of Chronosia, would serve the Shivans needs well. Aggressive, blood thirsty, god fearing, all that was needed in a species, they would be the hammer of the Imperium, they would strike, and the enemies would fall.
The future humans would have to be struck, planets would burn, stars would darken, and life, life will be extinguished. Around the Shivan warship, the stars of the Galaxy were streamed into billions of star lines, a vortex of faster than light travel which hurtled the Shivans ever closer to their prey…….
Chronosia System: Chronosian Homesystem: Day One of the Temporal Wars
Descending out of Hyperspace the Shivans arrived, the star lines and their vortex dissipated and collapsed into real space, the destroyers were finally here. Moving into the primitive system, small interstellar traffic was scurrying to and from the innermost world, ships, vastly smaller than the Juggernaut continued unawares of the threat.
Launching the first wave of fighters, the Shivans proceeded inwards, towards their goal…..
Great ships of the Imperium dotted the skies like fish in a river, their silvered hulls gleaming with a zealous faith in the light. The Emperor himself had commision these, the flagships of the Imperial fleet, which even now, grew in the great construction arrays that orbed Chronosia Prime. All was calm, till the sensors began to send frantic alarms throughout the sector; something was coming, multiple signatures. The weapons of the Imperium roared to bloody life, guns angling towards their foe, great gouting blasts of plasma set loose against these invaders.
"Hostile forces, in the name of the God Emperor of the Imperium, state your purpose."
Multiple contacts detected.
Course of action?
Eliminate them.
The lumbering juggernaut continued steadfast towards the Chronosians, their hails ignored, their ships unacknowledged. Uncaring of the Chronosian enemy Shivan fighters swarmed around the juggernaut, the full compliment of three hundred remained disciplined, swirling and moving as one underneath the battleships steady shielding.
Eventually the battle came to play and the Chronosians opened fire. Their plasma weapons streaked through the void leaving multiple coloured trails, which, if on a planet would resemble one of the greatest rainbows the Galaxy had ever created. But this was space, and the rainbow was supposed death.
The impact was, by the Chronosian standards devastating, it should have destroyed the ship, the volley was capable of destroying anything and everything that it came across, apart from the Shivans…..
The blue glow around the battleship remained intact, the plasma weapons disappeared upon contact, into the realms of infinity. Next the capital ships chose to attack, their weapons repeating the failure of before. The Chronosian defence was futile. Finally the Juggernaut retaliated, its beam weapons flew out in every direction, relentlessly hunting down their prey. The battle continued, the Shivans maintained their relentless assault not even considering something as weak as mercy, eventually the capital ship slowed, its was above the Chronosian Homeworld……..
The great orbital forges and docks of the Mechanicus shuddered, shatterign, breaking in great shards, which plummeted like broken glass into the shuddering Earth; the fleets were decimated in a few mere volleys, crews plunging earthward in escape pods.
The Emperor looked skyward, his eyes fixed on the enemy he knew dwelt above, as he sent forth his vast psychic power to try and fathow this invader, he felt the darkness of the void close about him, felt the chittering madness behind ther stars, caught glimpses of something terrible, something alien...
He tasted a Chronosia torn between what it was, and between ruin, but there existed the possiblity to surpass anything he had ever been. He felt reality shudder, causality shake, and then, he remembered-
In the past, the Emperor gave the Order. Recovery crews and technical craft surged into the atmosphere, to rebuild, to repair, and to continue work on the beginnings of his vast warfleet. There was work to be done, much work, with near limitless results.
"AHHHHHHHHH!"
At about the same time Amarka was hit by the images the Shivan sent him, Kartion's mind was suddenly filled with quadrillions of screams. Collapsing to the floor, he focused, and took a few deep breaths. The pain was immense.
"My god..." Kartion stumbled as he stood up, "Outer Heaven...it's gone! Wiped out! Destroyed! Erased!"
Leaning on a console, he sighed. Then, the intercom chirped.
"M'lord, we're detecting some sort of chronometri-...wait, it's changing! M'lord! A Temporal Shockwave has just exploded inside the Chronosian Empire! The STC is being changed! My god! M'lord! Everything’s changing, we're detecting...Shivans. Thousands of them...worlds are disappearing and fragmenting...entire nations are now gone! Oh no! M'lord, we're about to be hit!"
Kartion hit the intercom as hard as possible.
"TEMPORAL SHIELDS UP!!!!!!!!!"
_________________________________________________________________
The STC warped the moment the Chronosians surrendered. From their homeplanet, in the present, a Temporal Shockwave exploded. Taking the physical shape of a blue sphere, the shockwave exploded outward, absorbing everything, and changing it to what time had become. Shivan Vessels began appearing, planets dissapearing, empires and Nations that were superpowers of space ceasing to exist. And inside the shockwave, all the screams of the now erased innocents were contained, compressing, wanting to be heard...
_________________________________________________________________
The ELSD Sabre brought up its Temporal Shields just in time. The ship shook and creaked as it held up against the STC's wrath. After a few moments, the shockwave subsided. Everyone sighed a relief across the ship, except Kartion. The Officer on the Bridge who contacted Kartion earlier did so again.
"M'lord! We've survived the Temporal Shockwave! We're about to get sensors back up, could you please come to the bridge so that we can see where you want us to go?" The intercom was silent for a few moments, "M'lord?"
Amarka was holding his ears as he looked at Kartion. Kartion lay in the corner, yelling and screaming as he absorbed the Universe's cries. He convulsed violently, and his eyes were bleeding.
"AUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRARRRRRRRRRGH!!!!! MAKE IT STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
And in the middle of the Maelstrom he stood, screaming, remade through past, present, future, flesh rippling and expanding; the ship he stod on growing and changing. Shivan technology surged and replicated, making everything that was once Chronosian into a savage fusion of them all. He saw worlds, systems at his command, he saw his people as nothing more than meet, enslaved beneath the Shivan will. His own mind was not his own, devices ran through his flesh, puncturing and suppressing brain and spinal cord. As the countless war fleets surged across Chronosian space, dominating and subjugating all before him, ready to strike across the galaxy, he chuckly wryly, and turned to the communications desk....
"What do you Command, Masters?"
In the past, he was an unwilling pawn, but in the new, dark and terrible future he had no choice. He was a willing slave and convert; he was driven to destroy by a compulsion he did not understand, and to serve by that same strange desire.
And he enjoyed it.
Onboard the Warbird Trexin:
The crew of the Trexin were scurying around like ants, working hard to finish repairs. They would need their ship to be fully funtional to face their futures here in the dark void of space. The stars were so unfamillar to them, they seemed so hostile.
"Sir, repairs are nearly complete... However it could take several more hours to finish repairs on the Thaloron generator."
"Alright, try to get it done as soon as possible."
Another crewman enters the bridge to speek the Commander Vel'tolic.
"Commander, May i speak with you alone sir."
"Very well."
The Commander and the crewman walked off the bridge to the breifing room.
"What is it Crewman...?"
"We think we have deturmend our location."
"And?"
"Well sir, we have gone through our databanks and found the our old starchart records that corispond this what we see now... It appears that we have traveled around 500 years into the past, give or take a few years."
"Wow thats quit a bit."
"Yes, I know. But there is more sir. While going over the sensor records of just befor the wave hit us, we discovered its origin. It would seem that it begain in the Belsemi system sir. The Tal'shiar reported rumours of Shivan activity in certain sectors of that system."
"If those rumours were true.. Then.."
"Yes, this could have been their doing. If our starcharts are right this is about 100 or so years befor the shivan war. They could be trying to change the future."
"This could be bad news... then again, this could be good news."
"Well sir, the good news is that the Romulan Star Empire existed during this period of time. They are more than likely a little less advanced then now but still, they could help us if we need it."
"But contacting our ancestors could cause massive ripples in our future time line."
"The time line is already changing sir, their help could mean the differance between how much it changes."
"I dont know crewman.. I just dont know."
Alarms sounded all over the ship. The computer anounced "Commander to the Bridge". Commander Vel'tolic walked out onto the bridge.
"What is going on Sub-Commander?"
"Long range sensors have detected massive energy surgess in this sector of space." pointing at the console "It is believed to be weapons fire sir."
"Theres not much we can do know. We are still not fully operational. Put the fleet on alert. Continue to monitor those areas."
"Yes sir!"
Commander Vel'tolic left the bridge and headed for his quarters. He was extremely tired and there is not much he can do at this point but wait. He knew this could be a grave situation for his people.
"Bridge, this is the Vel'tolic, What is wrong now?"
"you may want to come up here for this one sir."
"Fine! Ill be right there."
The commanders quarters were not far from the bridge so he made it there quickly after putting on his uniform.
"Im here, Now What is it?"
"Sir, Broad cross channel communications sir, its the BORG! or at least some Borg."
"How the hell, looks like we may not have been the only ones effected by this."
"That.. or they could also be the cause of this."
"I dont think so Sub-Commander. There was no borg activity in the area this started... none the less we should try to monitor this situation. Try to get a fix on their broadcast position."
"Yes sir"
The tactical officer begain to scan then area and trianglulate the Borgs position.
Location: ISV Ballad of Pain; The Present.
“Captain, the final Shivan forces have... self destructed. I’m not reading any survivors. Looks like we’ve won.” Tycho’s voice betrayed his disappointment. He expected a battle worthy of song and received a turkey shoot, with the enemy gutting themselves rather than give him the honor of the kill. It was a waste.
“Bloody hell…” Tarsus said as his hands balled up into tightly knit fists, his knuckles turning white from rage. He could almost see the respect of his peers fluttering away like elusive hummingbirds, mocking him. This wasn’t supposed to happen!
“Sir? Orders?” Tycho replied dejectedly. He felt as cheated as the Captain did.
“Tag debris and look for survivors. Let us see if we can salvage some of this mess.”
”…Done. No survivors detected. All debris bigger than one standard Berglund has been tagged. None of it was of any real interest. Orders?”
“Oh? Well, there’s nothing left for us here. Let’s... Wait a second, do you feel that? ” Tarsus replied, mildly surprised at the speed of Tycho’s response. His surprise changed its focus however, as he noticed something. Something felt wrong, although he couldn’t quite put his finger on it.
“Aff, Sir. It’s creepy that the Shivans just killed themselves like that…”
“No, this is something else. It’s strange. Like somebody just walked over your grave…” Tarsus replied, his face blanching slightly in the harsh lights of the Bridge. Shivans he could deal with, but a hidden and very chilling hunch? That was something totally different.
“Tycho, I want you to uplink to the Imperial Civilian nets. Look for historical references relating to Shivans, specifically contact with the Shivans before the second Shivan war…”
“Checking… curious. There’s a skirmish reported with vessels that seem Shivan approximately 100 years before the first Shivan war. But that hardly makes sense… It must be some mistake.”
“I don’t think so… I heard stories of the second Shivan war. I heard that towards the end, they got desperate. Very desperate. They sought some way to stem their own defeat so feverishly that they turned to terrible, forbidden weapons. Who’s to say that they didn’t get so dire as to go back in time and try to change things? Surely a race foolish enough to flood their own space with replicating nanites would think little of causality. But as I understand it, temporal back-steps are difficult affairs. They require vast resources of energy, and other such things. It’s been long since we’ve seen Shivans. I think that perhaps they’ve been in hiding all this time, marshalling themselves so they could change history. After all, if they can’t defeat humanity in the present, perhaps they’ll defeat us in the past?” Tarsus frowned as he said that. He’d studied Temporal science as something of a hobby, he understood the very basics but little more. This was far beyond the breadth of his tiny temporal education.
”So what are we going to do, sir?” Tycho asked, his voice sounding lost and confused.
“I don’t know. I honestly don’t know…” Tarsus replied, his voice telling everyone on the bridge that he was indeed just as lost as they were. Probably not a good thing for morale…
IC:
In the present Dratherian scientists at the newly completed Temporal Observatory observe the temporal incursion of the Shivans into the past with great interest knowing that this incursion by all calculations wouldn't affect the future of the Dratherians at all at their current rate of progress. But none the less the scientists watched with interest running calculations of the events that could occur from their actions. Already there was a noticed increase in Shivan tech in the present and it was worrysome for they were a dangerous threat. The scientists sent word to Master Xeth and when the message arrived he decided it was time to step up operation speed and contact their old acquantince Indra Prime for advice on how to deal with these events.
The far past:
Beyond the Rim an old and ancient power stirred. It turned and noticed the movement within the small galaxy and it looked closer. It had been searching for The Lost, perhaps this was a sign of where they have gone to.
An opening was ripped in reality and a probe appeared. It began to scan the surrounding area for the source of the disturbance.
OOC: From my point of view, they've just changed history by enlisting Chronosia. Until they post something else, that's all the change that I'll see. OOC: But think about it! Outer Heaven just dissapeared. A Temporal Shockwave just went through space, changing everything! The galaxy has Shivans in it! Thousands! Think! The Shivans have just enlisted Chron as muscle, so they want them to build!
And because they're joined, they're a large force indeed. Now, from what US tells me, they'll visit me soon in the past, or try to, before I go back and change things. And knowing my nation back then, they'll keep attacking the Shivans. We'll get defeated and wiped out. That itself has major implications, seeing as Outer Heaven was not only involved with the first war, it's also had impacts on other Empires etc, and taken over planets. That won't happen.
And due to that, the Shivans will rise up in power, and eventually wipe everything out.
100 years previous to the first Shivan war;
General Korreth looked at the holographic map in front of him, brow furrowed. In his hand was a thick thread of elastic adorned with knuckle bones of various aliens. The cloaked figure of Tarenteor walked in.
"The disturbance has become larger. If we can attribute it to anything, it would be a temporal wave. However, you know as well as I do how improbable that is..."
The general swiveled around and glared.
"Improbable? I don't give a damn. Find out what's causing it, and figure out what it is then. Fool."
...The ELSD Sabre brought up its Temporal Shields just in time. The ship shook and creaked as it held up against the STC's wrath. After a few moments, the shockwave subsided. Everyone sighed a relief across the ship, except Kartion. The Officer on the Bridge who contacted Kartion earlier did so again.
"M'lord! We've survived the Temporal Shockwave! We're about to get sensors back up, could you please come to the bridge so that we can see where you want us to go?" The intercom was silent for a few moments, "M'lord?"
Amarka was holding his ears as he looked at Kartion. Kartion lay in the corner, yelling and screaming as he absorbed the Universe's cries. He convulsed violently, and his eyes were bleeding.
"AUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRARRRRRRRRRGH!!!!! MAKE IT STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Amarka grabbed hold of Kartion as he writhed in agony, “Bridge, get a medic down here NOW!”
He looked around for a medical kit but couldn’t recognise anything that might help Kartion. At the last moment, he ripped the sleeve from his uniform and tried to bandage Kartion’s eyes,
“What’s happening?” he exclaimed.
The I.C.C. Justice emerged from the rift in almost exactly the same position as where it entered,
“What the hell was that?” Kimba asked, his head still swirling from the ride,
“I don’t know,” replied Captain Penda, “I have never travelled through time before,
“And I sure as hell wouldn’t want to again.” Came a voice from a corner. Captain Viper had somehow managed to fall from his chair during the time travel. It was a bumpy ride to say the least and everyone was still feeling light-headed.
“Ship status?” asked Kimba as he helped an ensign to his feet,
“So far, everything checks out.” Replied Lieutenant Aclade from his operations console, “but the computers are having difficulty accepting the orientation of the stars.”
“What do you mean?” Asked Penda,
“We’re still on the boarder of Null Space, yet the stars are in totally different locations.” Replied Aclade, “Their positions are similar to the charts from almost… one-thousand years ago.”
A collective silence fell on the command deck…
The Juggernaut turned its great bulk, the Chronosians had their mission, and their mission was war…. The Shivans would recruit races that they knew to exist in the future, so that they might enslave them in the past. This was their plan, they needed war, they needed the Galaxy to burn and crumble so that in the ensuing chaos they could proceed with their tasks.
The outer species would be the first to fall, they would serve or die, that was their destiny, it was their task appointed to them, it was necessity, it was the future. Moving away from the Chornosian homeworld in victory the Shivan race had completed its first task, they had taken a world within a day, enslaved a race and appointed them to war. They would follow their orders, or destruction would rain upon them.
As the ship moved towards the outer regions of the system two things happened upon the Juggernaut. First, large cube shaped vessels began to approach, while an unknown probe began to scan the system. As the Faster than light drives powered up the Shivans felt something, something new to subspace, a voice, a message, a new race consuming their domain as if it were their own. As the unknown probe was tractored aboard the Juggernaut, the vessel hurtled into Hyperspace for their journey, on route, they would commence negotiations with this…. race……this Borg.
Most races theorised that the Borg collective mind resided in subspace, it was their key to success, the wealth of all their knowledge. Every thought, every transmission passed through the Shivan domain, Once thought secure by the Borg, once thought impregnable, but, as history and the future dictates, the Shivans have a habit of changing things……
Borg Consciousness
Thought stream detected: OVERRIDE
Surrender your vessel. We are the Borg, Your technological and biological distinctiveness will be added to our own. Resistance is futile.
RESISTENCE IS FUTILE
The Borg were arrogant and unchanging, as they made demands the Subspace masters would begin manipulating with the very fabric of the lower dimension itself. The Borg would soon find their collective consciousness a lot more solitary than usual.
Finally the Shivans had acquired their goal, the Borg, forced to hear the Shivans every demand, the Borg were now slaves of subspace.
RESISTENCE IS FUTILE. Serve us and survive, Refuse and be exterminated…..
As negotiations continued the Juggernaut proceeded unabated through hyperspace, soon they would arrive at their next location…..
Present
If a Shivan could smile then smile it would. On board the prison ship, Kel-Var was instantly infused by the thoughts of more Shivans….. It was working, the backstep had succeeded. The Imperium was growing……
The Galaxy was at full scale war, everywhere and without warning Shivan vessels would emerge from subspace. Planet after planet was cracked, destroyed and torn asunder, the human race fleeing form the endless horde, but suddenly everything changed, the future was in danger, the humans had a hope, the past could be changed, a vessel, near the outer rim… a trapped lone Shivan, a species, long thought exterminated, they have somehow survived…. The ancestors of the Terrans and Vasudans, they were a priority, every resource must be committed, every ship, every vessel…
Primary Objective Alteration – Destroy enemy vessel known as ELSD Sabre.
Secondary Objective – Destroy enemy vessel ELSD Sabre
Tertiary Objective – Exterminate terran vessels that interfere.
All over the Galaxy ships were leaving the engagements, planets received refuge for the time being, systems, leniency as every Shivan combat vessel turned towards the outer rim, there was a danger to the future, a danger to the Imperium. Everywhere blue portals formed, great vessels slipped through and beyond normal space into the matter infested void of subspace. Skulking towards their prey as any predator would each vessel was on a death hunt, each ship tasked with their orders, eliminate the Arkara, eliminate the lightning being, exterminate the Sabre…..
Vel-Kar awaited the lightning mans defeat with joy, while he writhed in agony the Shivan remained stationary, guiding his race towards the endangerment, towards the threatening vessel….
Third Temporal Shock Wave: The Present
Originating outside the Chronosia system a third temporal wave was inflicted upon the Galaxy, smashing through planets, ships, stars and nebulas the pulse wave was unforgiving.
Entire battles were suddenly erased from history, worlds were revived, races were enslaved. The Borg population rose instantly from a mere billion to several trillion across the Galaxy. Instantly the balance of power shifted.
The Shivans were no longer normal Shivans. Their inferno red ships, glistened with black and dark green modules. Their technology was altered, enhanced, while the collective remains nothing more than slaves. Their great mind stomped on and controlled by their Shivan masters.
The events proceeded as normal, each Shivan vessel moved into subspace, and upon emergence, the ELSD Sabre would receive a surprise that it would never forget…..
Past
The Shivan collective writhed with joy. They now had an servant from the future, this servant would be useful, their methods of production outstripped the current abilities of the Chornosians, they should be put to work…..
Borg. Assist the Chornosians build their fleet. Prepare them for war…..
A remote satellite recorded the wave and sent the information back to base. The information was labeled as a temporal wave and sent to the Temporal Commission.
"Holy **** that's the third temporal wave so far. What the hell is going on there!"
"Sir! We've just been in contact with the Jedi. So far they've said nothing has changed with our nation. They say it's some nation trying to change the outcome of a war or something."
"Well as long as it doesn't affect us there's no reason to become involved. Put this on Green Alert just to make sure though."
"Aye aye sir."
The probe detected the approach of a vessel. It did a quick scan of the ship. The AI compaired the readings with the other vessels found in its long range scans. The aproaching ship seemed to be the most technologically advanced ship in the area. The computer reasoned these belonged to the local superior race and allowed itself to be taked aboard the vessel. The probe sat quietly and continued to scan everything. A weakness existed in this race and it will find it for its masters to exploit.
Kartion then stopped, and cried out. He sat there for a few moments, before removing the bandage, his eyes a much deeper red than they had been before.
"I just endured the screams of approximately 9,684,340,374,824,134,673 sentient beings of this Universe alone. B-but, I'll be alright, but we must stop this now, before it goes any further."
Kartion jumped up.
"Lets go to the Bridge, we need those co-ordinates." Kartion appeared to start clicking his fingers, but stopped.
"Oh, and before you ask, the Shivans are now the dominant power in this Universe. I can sense their filth all over this place, and from what I can tell, the 8th Empire, and your people, Amarka, are gone. You're alone now, with me, but we can stop this."
With that, Kartion clicked his fingers, and Amarka and Kartion materialised on the Bridge. Jumping into the pit to his right, he moved the Officer away from the station.
"Okay Amarka, here's the Helm..." Kartion tapped in a few commands into the console, "Type in the co-ordinates, and the Helm will pin-point it, and don't worry, I already have all of your mapping sequences etc. put in, so inputting the co-ordinates to...POL-195 won't be a problem."
The probe felt a presence reach out to it from the inhabitants of the ship. It knew the Masters wished to know certain things from these beings. They seemed to get excited when they detected the power fluctuations within the probe and scurried about. It analyzed the psychic probe sent by the creature.
“We Are The Shivans”
The AI felt pleased it had this additional information. It recorded and relayed everything back to its masters.
The Masters wish to open communications with these beings! The AI was getting more excited. This day would be grand indeed.
Opening a conduit for the Masters to use, it allowed the energy to flow through it. The probe rose into the air and hovered at about head height. A massively powerful voice echoed through every Shivan mind within the room and a few outside it.
Onboard the Warbird Trexin:
"Commander, We have detected several subspace rifts as well as massive energy signitures from them. It could be thought that this might well be the shivans sir. A temporal ship would produce massive amounts of energy."
"Very true, continue to track these energy readings."
"One other thing sir, while tracking the Borg vessels they came into near contact with the location of the energy source. It might be possible that the Borg would help such a creature if they could not assimilate them into their own culture."
"That is possible but only speculartory at the moment. We have no proof."
"Then perhaps we should get some commander?"
"Yes, Yes we should... Are the other ships repaired?"
"Yes, Fully sir."
"Good, Cloak all ships and ready weapons, these things live or what ever in subspace so keep long range comms to a limit. If you have to communicate with another ship use close range combat encoded messages. That whay it would be harder for them to pick up our signals."
"Yes sir, transmitting orders to battle group."
"Form up the ships into a staggered chevron patten and take us to the last area of space you detected the subspace rift and energy surges."
"Yes Sir!"
The Small group of Cloaked RSI ships moved out. They powered there transwarp drives for use because they had not yet calibrated their Probability Drives for this new time line. Al-Imvadjah
02-06-2005, 00:09
Present Day
The first two Temporal Waves had been buffered by the remoteness and the isolationism of the Al-Imvadjians, but the third shattered everything. A thousand possible presents crashed against eachother as events occurred in the past. Observers, safe in the Tralfmadore Observatory, watched as the most likely present for Al-Imvadjah settled itself.
Tralfmadore Observatory, begun in 3327 and in operation since 8 million BC, was dedicated to a single task: watching Al-Imvadjah. Other nations could do whatever they wanted with their pasts and their futures, but the scientists, technicians, warriors, and workers at Tralfmadore would keep Al-Imvadjah’s past from being destroyed. They would only interfere if things turned out too poorly for Al-Imvadjah to survive at all. One possible reality after another washed across their screens: a Star Empire, a Galactic Republic, mercenary raiders, manufacturing giants, et cetera. Every possible form of existence appeared and reappeared on their sensors as the most recent Time Wave and its secondary reactions ripped through the universe. A few began to show themselves more often than the rest, the number dropped as events in the past tore further into Al-Imvad history. Then a single version of the present took hold. A present that could not be allowed.
Scanning for the source of the destruction, and the best way to save Al-Imvadjah, they saw what had happened. The Imvadjians had found themselves trapped and attacked by a Shivan horde, which had approached the beacon on Nonistan. A single colony ship, carrying 25 million civilians in hibernation, managed to escape the massacre. But it was unable to find a new home, as Shivans took over the galaxy. Everything was shut down, and the remaining crew went into their own stasis chambers. Al-Imvadjah had ceased to exist as a nation.
This could not be allowed. Steps would be taken.
OOC: Can we get some OOC details on what the new Shivan forces are like? I'm starting to get all curious again. :p
Location: ISV Ballad of Pain, present.
"Captain, I have an idea. It may be possible to send a small vessel back in time. Certainly not a capital ship, but possibly a message drone..." Tycho’s voice was low and morose. He realized that if he didn’t do something soon, the Empire as he knew it could cease to exist. History was already changing, battles that had been successfully won were suddenly lost. The crushing ESUS victory of the second Shivan war disintegrated like so much dust scattered to the wind. What had once been a resounding triumph had mutated into a hellish stalemate with neither side having a major advantage over the other. But how long would that last? How long would it be before the Shivans figured out a way to tip the scales in their favor again? Not long enough. If Tycho didn’t do *something,* he risked failing the whole human race.
"Why can't you send the whole ship back?" Tarsus asked, his voice curious and befuddled. How could they possibly send anything back? They lacked the equipment.
"Well, I *could*, but I'm not sure if we'd even get there. It's a very dangerous procedure and..." Tycho replied, thinking fast. Truth be told, he wasn’t even sure a drone would make it through. The last time an Imperial ship tried that, its crew was infected with a supernatural plague and it appeared too far into the past.
"Wait... We can send a drone back? How? We don't have any temporal equipment on hand." Tarsus’ mind caught up with Tycho’s technobabble just in time.
"I can exploit a flaw in our Quasi-Spatial FTL drive to send an object back. It's not easy, and certainly not safe, but it *should* work." If Tycho had a physical form, he would have been shrugging as he spoke.
"Has this ever been done before, Tycho?"
"I'm sorry sir, if I told you the answer to that, I would be forced to vent energetic plasma onto the bridge and excise the information from what’s left of your meatbag brain..." Tycho’s voice suddenly got very harsh and metallic, his normally human vocalizations vanishing in an instant, almost as though he were voicing a pre-programmed response.
"Excuse me!? On what authority?" Tarsus asked, his eyebrows cocked upwards. Was Tycho trying to make some sort of stupid joke?
"Imperial Edict, straight from the Emperor's throne." Again his voice was stilted and cold. He was dead serious.
“Err… Okay. So… How soon can we get a message drone away, and what can we load it up with?” Tarsus frowned as he heard ‘Imperial Edict.’ That is most certainly not something you want to disobey, especially when your home nation has an Inquisition that has no qualms about executing violators’ families.
“Well sir, I think I can get a drone modified in a few minutes, it’s a really minor operation. The problem is deciding what to send back. We don’t want to totally screw up history, do we?” Tycho’s voice took on its human undertones again, much to the relief of everyone on the bridge.
“I think the Shivans have already done that for us. Put in weapons schematics, metallurgical procedures, everything you can possibly fit.”
“Sir, you realize that the Facehuggeria of the past won’t be able to manufacture half the designs we send them, right? Why, they were still using simple atomic welding for Lord’s sake. Why, I’m not even sure they knew how to make ECC back then!” Tycho was back to his own self. Very reassuring compared to the version that was threatening to vent superheated gas into the bridge.
“I know. I want you to stick a small portable synth unit into the drone. And include some Tychium. They won’t be able to expand that into full on ship production, but every little bit helps. Who knows? Perhaps even telling our forefathers that certain principles ‘work’ may be all we need to stem the tide. I doubt it, but we’ve got to do something. I keep thinking back to the Atomic bomb. It took the greatest minds of its age to conceive, but once we knew it worked, a backwoodsman with a little plutonium and a gunsmith could make their own…” Alas that Imperial technology was so interdependent on Imperial industrial prowess that it would take years, nay centuries for the Facehuggerians of the past to even begin to make crude copies of the schematics the drone would carry.
“Aff. I’m loading up the drone now. Highest compression and encryption. If somebody else captures it, they won’t be able to get dick out of it...
…Okay, sir. I’ve got it. I crammed as much info about our power and weapon systems in as I could and slaved it to an idiot-copy of myself. It’ll lack my nifty personality, but I think it’ll get the job done.” Tycho said, a slight and barely noticeable pause evident in his voice as he handled an incredible amount of data from quantum relativity to planet killing weapons to the number forty two.
“Launch…” Tarsus said, exhaling as he realized that he might actually be changing history. It gave him a giddy sense of power watered down with responsibility. The Shivans screwed with the timeline first, he was just trying to preserve balance. Although admittedly his effort would not be as… successful as he would like.
Present Time
A simple order went out to the populace of the Imperium.
Attention Citizens,
Don't Panic. Everyone report to your designated Colony Ship. We repeat, report to your DCS in an orderly fashion.
Imperial Council
Within days, the entire population of the Star Imperium was loaded onto their respective colony ships and heading towards...nowhere. Shortly after forming up, the entire Imperial Fleet jumped in, and as one, every single trace of Flaming Soulian presence in the present disappeared as the ships jumped into Temporal Hyperspace, retreating to their last defensible position.
The Past
The vessels of the Flaming Souls TIF scanned the STC, looking for the cause of the Temporal Distortions, seeing that the effects were becoming larger and larger. Knowing that the only way to safeguard the future of the Imperium was to safeguard it's past, the TIF made towards Sol, where the Imperium of the Past, then known as the Armed Republic, known to be.
The Present
"Things have changed." Master Masaki said before the Council. "I sense a grave disturbance in the Force. Many timelines have been altered."
"This is a serious matter." Master Elendil frowned. "It is possible that something has occurred...in the past."
"The past?" The other members of the council looked at each other in apprehension.
"The past." Master Elendil nodded. The Force has revealed a change in the galaxy, the universe, and to the remaining Jedi Order, it was agreed to do something about it, but what? That, is not known yet...
((OOC: Well, I think I'll hop in as my older nation, Krowemoh...))
Gowa City, Planet Krowemoh, The Nameless Star System.
Present
The CEO of Gowa Industries, co-ruling Corporation of Krowemoh, slept peacefully in his goose down bed. All was as it should be. The Corporate Empire of Krowemoh was thriving under the guidance of the Big Three, Gowa Industries, Vector Industries, and the Ultor Corporation. The Gnufasur problem wasn't a worry, as agents were already in place to covert it to a sub-sidary of the Corporate Empire once more.
Suddenly, he felt a pain in his chest, and shot straight up in his bed. It was a burning sensation. Aged, years old scars suddenly etched themselves over his body, face, and limbs. The Gowa Complex began to collaspe... No, it no longer existed, the Gowa Complex was never built! A crashed colony ship lay in ruins just outside the Gowa City, the bulk towering over the horizon. Where once there was billions of Krowemohians, now only a scant thousand remained, rebels all, huddling in underground caverns, as the Shivan forces desimated their home in an effort to wipe them out...
The CEO then simply ceased to exist...
The Exodus Project Fleet, Mid-Hyperspace Jump, Uncharted Space
((OOC Note: I have no clue if they have this tech, but I'll assume they do... >_>))
The Exodus Project Fleet, a large armada of warships and Colony Ships, carrying every living Krowemohian from Earth to to new home within the Nameless Star System.
The trip had went uninterrupted. For seven years, the fleet remained in FTL travel. The fleet arrived without event in the the Nameless Star System.
This was supposed to happen. Yet, it didn't. The HyperSpace route was suddenly pulled out from under them. The fleet was forced back into Real Space. Right into the middle of a Shivan ambush.
Despite the warships' best effort to fight the Shivan vessels, their mass driver guns couldn't even dent their shields. The few AGWS and Railgun fighters that were able to launch were quickly destroyed. With single shots, war and colony ship alike were destroyed. Only three colony ships were able to make the jump back to HyperSpace.
But, they were followed. Upon arriving in the Nameless Star System, the Colony ships made for what should have been Planet Krowemoh. Another Colony ship was destroyed before it even reached the planet, the second shot down in orbit by the Shivans. The third managed to land and disembark most of the settlers, before it too was destroyed by the Shivans...
The The ELSD Sabre
Ember, also known as Darth Vexin, was one of the few Neko Sith within the Galaxy. A master of the Force, Darth Vexin didn't specailize in Lightsaber combat, but wielded near ultimate control of the Force. And, even as a Sith, Darth Vexin was a beauty to behold, naturally untamed beauty without need for make-up or other artificial enhancers. Darth Vexin could bring weak men to their knees with a smile and a wink, having them pledge their alliagance/undying love to her...
... Except, Darth Vexin wasn't a woman...
He was the head of one of the guard units for the ELSD Sabre, should it come under attack by bording party, he would lead the soldeirs into battle.
Yet, very few on the ship knew that Darth Vexin was a male rather then female, but his appearance were very deceiving. Long, lusterous white hair flowed down to his mid-back, possessing a natural shine most women would kill to have. The tribal tattoos on his cheek did nothing to substract from his beauty, adding to the feral charm.
The grace with which he moved as he strode onto the bridge of the ELSD Sabre was enough to turn the heads of a few of the bridge operator, a swish of his tanned colored sarong revealing a glimpse of smooth, ambrosial leg right up to the buttocks, a black furred tail flicking to move the sarong back into place.
He kneels before Kartion. "My Master." He spoke, his voice soft and musical, like chimes in a gentle breeze. "I sense a grave Disturbance in the Force..."
Kartion grinned.
"Rise Darth Vexin."
Kartion waited for he-...him to rise.
God dammit...that man is so lady like, I can imagine the Disappointment of some of the Guard...
His deep red eyes studied Vexin for a moment, before he made eye contact, and kept it.
"I know what you sense, and all I can say to you is to be ready. When the Destroyers arrive, we will have a tough time. And in the event they try and board us, and assimilate our more powerful Beam Technology, then I want to see you leading our Guard into battle. These Shivans are monsters, not to be trifled with, and they don't flirt. Do you understand Darth Vexin?" He asked, his eyes sharpening as they focused, bringing a sense of unease he always brought amoung his subjects.
Darth Vexin wavered only slightly under Kartion stare, an uneasy feeling churling in his gut. "Why, of course, Master. I am more then just a beautiful face." He said.
Normally, one would expect someone in Darth Vexin's position to make some demostration of his mastery of the Force. Yet, Kartion already knew what he was capable of. Such a demostration would be wasteful and utterly useless. "If these fiends try to board us, I will ensure each suffers in agony before a quick and painful death." A short bow. "Do you wish my presense here? If not, then I shall return to my mediatations."
Vexin nods, taking a step back.
That's when he spied Amarka. A smile crept across his face, "By your leave, Master."
With a short bow, he turned and moved near Amarka. He didn't say anything to the other man, merely stood near him, one flawlessly smooth leg slightly bared up to the mid-thigh. He was gauging the other man's reaction, and waiting for him to intiate first contact. After all, a lady never intaites first contact.
Present
Unknown vessel approaching regression sector: Temporal Variance strong. Destroy designated craft before it reaches the Belsemi system.
The Shivan fleet hurtling through subspace was now in close pursuit of their prey. Moving across the Galaxy in seconds the fleet was almost in touch of this craft, this Shivan prison…..
The technology of the vessel was synomonous with a race that was encountered long ago, though more advanced, and altered slightly, it appears that the ship was from a now apparently extinct race. The Shivan vessels more adept at subspace travel than any other species were finally gaining on the enemy craft. The masters of subspace would do whatever was necessary to stop this ship.
The Belsemi system was now only a mere four minutes away, not giving the Shivans much time to stop it, the destroyers could only resign themselves to normal space combat. Approaching the craft undetected, the destroyers masked themselves within the fabric of subspace itself, a more advanced form of cloaking designed for this, lesser of dimensions.
Stalking and skulking behind the Sabre the Shivan strike force was finally close enough to open fire. Striking out with beam weapons the point Sathanas Juggernaut swathed at the enemies engines, attempting to stop them dead in Destroyers realm…….
From all over the Galaxy Shivan vessels began to arrive in Belsemi, each one bursting into the system at its far edge, beyond the fifth planet. The system scanned empty, nothing apart from desolate worlds and empty space, apart, from near the second planet a new vessel, a new unknown…..
Moving forth through the system the new Shivan forces glimmered with red. Black twists and ominous green glows littered the hulls of their ships, indicating a joining with the Borg. First to arrive was a new Moloch cruiser, its weapons armed and confident of battle the vessel slowly moved in towards the heart of the system.
If alone, the Moloch was sure to be destroyed, however…the great swarm of blue portals glimmering from behind the cruiser signalled otherwise….
Past
We know not of the lost, we know not of the species you refer to, elaborate. The message was simple and pure, this name, the “lost” was an apparent enigma to the Imperium.
Continuing its course the Shivan vessel finally erupted out of Hyperspace, it had arrived in its chosen sector, the species of Outer Heaven…………….
The probe relayed the message from the Shivans. It knew the Masters would not be happy. They don’t like answers in the form of questions.
The reply came as a pulse of energy. The pulse erupted through the probe, momentarily stunning the AI. A coherent beam of energy jumped at the Shivan communicating with the probe and struck it square in the head. The beam of energy tossed the Shivan into the wall.
As the AI recovered it threw its defenses up as multiple plasma beams converged upon it. The shield held but the AI was still groggy and disorientated.
The Shivan picked itself up. Flashes of images flickered through its mind as the message was received. The Understanding was received.
While the thoughts of The Masters channeled through the probe, they scanned the alien creatures. The Mind was deeply disappointed. As it retreated through the channel provided by the probe, it left instructions.
The probe hovered there with its shields glowing, deflecting everything being thrown at it.
“The Masters have found you unsatisfactory to associate with. They wish to inform you to never enter any space they consider theirs or the repercussions would be disastrous to your entire race. I will be leaving now.”
The probe darted through the nearest wall and out the side of the ship.
After clearing the Shivan vessel it opened a tear in reality and disappeared.
