Alright, just imagine this. China finally invades America. The issue? Bush as Commander in Chief totally bungles America's defense, so America falls. Luckily, China's invasion collapsed in on itself after internal pressures. Well, partially luckily, the Politiburo in Beijing decided to just leave whatever soldiers they had in the U.S sitting there with no hope of extraction. So now, the remnants of the American military, the Chinese military and militias formed from angry citizens are roaming the land, causing pain and destruction.

The only political organization is on the local level, the economy has reverted back to the Middle Ages and you could die at any time.

Welcome to post apocalyptic America. Enjoy your stay.

RP Theater: In order to reflect the more limited communication and involved distances of Post Apocalyptic America, the RP will take place in the corridor from Boston to Richmond.

Technology: Whatever you can manage to scavenge or build, which won't be too fancy. Stuff like pickup trucks with guns, motorbikes or old Type 98 tans are to be expected. Airpower is unlikely, because jet fuel is in rare supply and most people with the technological know how to survive are already dead. Also remember, health care sucks.

Economy: Barter economy is in full swing. Most places though, have to farm or scavenge for their food.

RP faction types: You can RP the following:

*Scavenger Gang: Nomads that prey upon other people and occasionally herd sheep and cattle.

*Agriculturalists: Need some rich farming areas to this.

*Urbanists: Mostly massive trade market towns, like New York etc.

I like the end idea (i'm a bush fan so I'm not too fond of how it got there :p ) my question is, though, how does a nation that has as pitiful a navy as China has manage to get across the pacific lake without us blowing most of their ships to hell and gone? Remember, China's power lies in their numbers, not in any form of combat or technological prowess, unless that changes or our navy goes to pot the pacific will always be a next to insurmountable obstical to chinese invasion.

the thing is, this is only distantly plausible way I can see America falling apart quickly. China currently the military with that has the distant means and slightly less distant motivation to invade America. The EU could do it, but would probably fall apart at the seams organizationally, the Middle East couldn't do it if it tried and complete internal collapse seems unlikely within 4-5 years.

That and I hate nukes, so nuclear war apocalypse isn't an option. Besides, we wouldn't survive a nuclear war.

To make things interesting: Bush seized power in a military coup after Hillary Clinton won the 2008 Presidential Elections. The Chinese Invasion came in 2018, the year is currently 2025, although technology hasn't progressed too much, esp. when you factor in the total collapse of American infrastructure.

Other: 'eavy Metal was an armoured brigade, with attached engineer and special forces companies, that had gone rouge during the fall. It uses the skilled mechanics and engineers to keep it's tanks and IFVs in shape as it travels the country side salvaging vehicles and tech and selling it to those who couldn't get it to work. Through a combination of luck and skill, they've managed to get a apache up and running, thought sparcely used.

When the American government fell, cloners who had been in hiding came to Worcester, Massachusetts; The "capital" of the American Cloning research prior to the Bush Dictatorship(you guys all know that Bush would ban cloning if he could) to found a free state where they could freely do their research. They supplied technology and security to the city, so survivors from the surrounding area came to the city. The civilians mostly farm, take caravans out to scavange the area for supplies, sell things, or build things. The Militia are, of course, a group of poorly armed and trained soldiers that defend the city. Little is known about the Elite Guard, but it is thought that they are the few succesfull human clones ever created...

Well, I'd not pick at the how of China invading the US until someone handled the why, so I haven't much time for all this haste to big-up the US military's superiority. Sad!

Faction Name: New York City Industrialists Union (NYCIU)
Faction Function: Urban
How It's Governed: Industrialist Consulate. With the government down the drain, a small group of businessmen who had managed to maintain their wealth despite the war, and banded together to gain power. These men govern as a council. Capitalism and industry are key policies.
Who: Businessmen paying guys with guns to control the populus, basically. However, the promise of jobs has kept most of the people inside NYCIU happy.
How Big: The NYCIU has only just gotten off the ground, being primarily based in North Queens, mainly pieces of Flushing, including La Guardia, Jackson Heights and Long Island City. 36,000 people, including leaders, civilians and 'military' are part of the NYCIU.
Tech: Former civilian stuff refitted to be used militarily, variety of weapons bought from former American military personnel.
Notes (felt like adding this): Before this, gang wars in New York had devastated the entire area of NYC, causing the population to go into a tailspin, as large amounts of people were killed in gunfights and the like. However, the NYCIU has mostly disabled the gangs in the area they control thanks to the mercenaries from what used to be the American military, paid to basically become the standing military of the NYCIU. Their wealth has managed to allow them to go create a small navy, consisting of small speeder boats manned by guys with bazookas, and a small air force based in La Guardia, consisting of Cessnas with weapons attached.

Yea, it's over the top, tone it down.

Why? My 'militia' consists of former military men. My navy is guys with speedboats and bazookas, and my air force is small civilian airplanes, refitted to fire rockets and stuff at people... really isn't that much.

I don't control that much land or people either. Green Sun has more men, and the land is rather small considering other people.

i think there should be like a 100,000 pop limit because if not the people who already said they had like 15000 will be to easily overrun...plus where ingods name are you going to find a bazzoka in nyc and at that rockets able to be fired from civilian air planes?!

A) It's anarchy, and I'm using former American military members as mercenaries. Besides, someone's bound to have some kind of bazooka. Or at least an RPG launcher.

B) If you're unaware, Green Sun has 200k men, if I'm going lower, so should he.

C) It isn't that hard to transform a civilian aircraft into a military one. Just look at World War I, same thing happened. All you have to do is connect the trigger to a place in the cockpit, and voila, military aircraft.

in ww1 they just put a machine gun in the back and had a copilot who was shooting the people if u do that im fine with it but rockets are extreme...also i said its a limit meaning all should obey it

Faction Type: Scavengers, biker gang

Government: Leader selected by the gang based on attributes such as physical strength and skill on a chopper. Any member can challenge for leadership at any time, but the reigning leader gets to pick the grounds for the challenge.

Current Leader: "Big" Jack Mitchell-

Veteran of the gulf war and Operation: Iraqi Freedom, Jack Mitchell is a man with a serious problem with authority. Jack found himself disgusted with the government when Hillary Clinton ordered a full U.S. Army withdrawal from Iraq, especially after watching hundreds of his close friends die bravely fighting Al-Quaida at the Battle of Baghdad. He promptly withdrew from the army, finding himself equally disgusted with the disrespect for America's fighting men that he witnessed upon his return to America.

Hating society, he joined Hell's Angels as an escape, and quickly found respect and admiration from the others, many of whom served in Vietnam and sympathized with his plight. He was selected almost unanimously to lead the gang in 2020, and has proven effective in his direction. An intelligent man, he listens to the problems of the rest of the gang and keeps things very democratic, often addressing concerns personally.

Mitchell led his Hell's Angels in numerous militia actions against the Chinese, and fought bravely at the battle of Georgetown, in which he risked personal safety to save a large number of American civillians cut off by Chinese forces. He is also in possession of the only American flag to survive the destruction of Washington, which he saved from the burning capitol building.

Since the collapse of the invasion and the United States as we knew them, Mitchell has withdrawn his gang to concentrate on personal survival. He detests all things Asian as well as anyone who sides with the Chinese. His gang of road warriors are nomadic, preying on towns sympathetic to the Chinese, and scavenging what they need.

The Hell's Angels operate primarily out of Richmond, but have a presence in Pittsburg, New York City, the ruins of Washington D.C., and Detroit.

It's not like I'm using thousands of rockets. Two on a plane, maybe, no more. The Fw190 Sturmbock from WWII could fire 8 rockets, and considering a Cessna's better, I could probably stick more. I'll post some kind of stats on the refit, if this gets running.

I'll lower the population, but if Green Sun doesn't do it as well... I'll re-raise it, just to make it even again.

E) New York as a location was devasted by the invasion, it looks like Lenningrad currently, so it won't support many people.

What Tech Used: Limited technology: a firearm more powerful then a handgun is often only wielded by government officials, for protecting important buildings, or the navy along the southern coastline. farmers use schyths for working the fields (keeping livestock is illegal) and protecting them if the nation is being attacked. Along the southern coastline a navy of old civillian boats (and several wooden rafts) armed with firearms protect it.
Other:The people have a multitude of freedoms and are given equal amounts of food weapons. Bartering and trade is illegal between citizens and famines, though rare, are felt throught the area.

lmao thats entertaining...and thats how they did it in ww1 i also wouldnt mind if u stuck a guy in there with a machine gun(1 drives the other shoots) but try not to have like 20 of them keep it to a minimum like 10 or less ...

anywho, for mapemakeing sake, when you make your country could you do me a favour and point out where on the map it is. You can do it in mspaint for all i care ill redo it later, its just easyer if you put which countys and such. (dont attach the entire new map with your litthe change, try cropping the area where you are and a little around it so I can find where it is)

How It's Governed: Essentially a dictatorship by a far-right Iranian American warlord calling himself Shah. The Shah in turn controls central and north Virginia south of DC, where a large community of Iranians live and operates from there, uniting the Iranian Americans of the north with insane gun nuts from central Virginia.

Who (Military, or Citizen): 18,000 Civilians of various types, 3200 military, including 200 elite Ex Military forces. The Military is fairly good, using a few M-60 tanks, M-113s, M-16s, and even a pair of F-16s.
